When I started this review the first time I went here it was actually 3 stars. It seemed like the person doing the pizzas was new, which is understandable, as you have to be new at some time. One person was showing him how to make the pizzas as well as cook but he was busy making pizzas and couldn't watch the baker the whole time. A lot of pizzas were coming out burned as my friend and I sat at the counter and watched. Instead of redoing pizzas, they would simply scrape off most of the burnt crust and still serve it. This doesn't get rid of the burnt flavor. Pizza was just ok...it's also possible we went only a little after they first opened their doors. I just went again today because I knew the wife liked special pizzas and wanted to try the place so I was willing to risk it so she could try it herself. This time it was not all the same staff so the pizzas came out perfect, considering the heat from those style ovens. We were greeted immediately when we arrived and there was plenty of seating since they only opened 30 minutes earlier, within about 40 minutes the place was completely full. The first slice I grabbed some of the toppings, including cheese slid off, no biggie, I've had thin crust pizzas that have done that...just use a fork and eat those little bits. That's why I added the extra sprinkle cheese to bind everything together and after that...nothing fell off again . Pizza was cooked perfectly! Such good flavor combo. The wife's romana pizza, $16, with cheese +$2, was salty but told her what do you expect if you have olives, anchovies, and capers on your pizza. She said it was still delicious though. My capricciosa Pizza, $18, was super yummy. Will be going back to try other pizzas sometime soon. Staff was very pleasant and attentive. Thanks for being close to the house .

Came here with my sis and niece for a dinner before my niece headed out to Florida for a year or so. . Came on a Friday night and snagged the last table around 6:45. It didn't seem to be a big deal though cuz I never saw anyone waiting around for a table. Had to say, I thought it was a little pricey but I really did enjoy the pizza. She had the magherita pizza and I had the tartufo pizza. I loovvveee truffle flavor! Honestly my niece and sister don't love truffle like I do so they pretty much ate the magherita pizza and even though they offered me some, I didn't want to take it away from them! I did get to take the single piece home but my son ate it! I think it's safe to say they enjoyed it since it was mostly all gone! The tartufo did not disappoint. When the pizza arrived you could smell the hint of truffle. Yum! My niece made a face and didn't like the aroma! Oh well, more for me! I'm not a sausage fan (I'm a pepperoni kind of gal) but the sausage as smooth and went well with the truffle flavor. The cheese was a great balance too. I am a cheesy kind of gal, but I will admit sometimes too much cheese can kill the other flavors (I just love the goo and stretch of the cheese) but Centro has a good balance of cheese with some stretch but not overpowering. Would I come again? Yes! To fulfill a craving. Pro tip: Was scrolling through my credit card offers and noticed I could have gotten 5% cash back or 3x the points. So check your card to see if the there are any offers! Enjoy!

Centro has a good variety of pizza. I love the chewy, charred bubbly crust. However, as other reviewers have mentioned, the dough is quite thin and not sturdy enough to withstand all the cheese and toppings. Therefore you may end up with a soupy mess. Forks and knives are necessary! Service was standard, not the friendliest but not curt. Food arrived relatively quickly, despite a busy night.

We order for pickup on a Friday night. When I arrived I have observed the indoor was packed with customers. The indoor sitting looked pretty nice. The staff were nice and the food was ready on time. I always appreciate smiling folks. We have ordered three pizzas. The Margherita and Capricciosa were not good to be honest. There was not enough cheese and too much bread, I guess it is Italian style which some people like. We asked them to not add ham to Capricciosa , but they did it anyways. The Tartufo pizza was pretty delicious. It has a touch of truffle and it is just right amount. I may order again, but probably only Tartufo

Good Naples style pizza made in the wood fired oven. The dough is chewy and the ingredients are good quality. I ordered pizza and a pear salad to go. Salad was delicious! Staff here are tops the service couldn't be better. This style pizza is best served right out of the oven so I suggest dining in. DO NOT use Grubhub for orders here. Go through the website to their system. I used Grubhub and they didn't even have the order. The staff fixed everything so I appreciated that.

We hosted my baby shower here and had the BEST experience! From the very beginning, working with Cameron was such a breeze--he was so easy to work with, flexible, and accommodating to all of our needs. The food and drinks were delicious (everyone kept talking about how good the pizza was!), and the prices were very fair for the quality and service we received. We were even able to decorate the space to make it feel personal and special, which made the day even more memorable. I can't recommend this place enough--for both the amazing food and the wonderful people who run it!

My boyfriend and I recently moved into the area and had people visiting. We decided to pick up a pizza as it can be the easiest...and OMG Centro Pizza did not disappoint. We ordered 2 pizzas one was the pizza pesto and pizza sapore. Both pizzas were a hit! So much flavor, the pizza pesto was honestly the best I would definitely recommend this place. Super convenient and the prices are decent!

Honestly some of the best traditional Neapolitan pizza I have had in the area. The pizza here is so good. The inside is also very inviting and service is pretty good. You can basically only go here for dinner time since their hours are 4pm-9pm and they close on Mondays. They have a nice selection of options for pizzas plus salad options. Most recently I ordered the Pizza Sapore ($23) and the Insalata Pera ($15). The Insalata Pera I ordered with blue cheese on the side because I don't like blue cheese, but it was still a good salad to have before you get your pizza. It was a little light on the dressing, but I still liked the addition of the pears also. I just can't properly rate it because I didn't eat it the way it was intended to be eaten. The Pizza Sapore was soooo good. The crust had a really nice crisp and I really like their dough. I'm not the biggest crust fan, but their pizzas had me devouring their crust. It comes with mozzarella on the surface of the dough then arugala, prosciutto, olive oil, and the biggest standout which is the burrata in the center of the pizza. It was packed with flavor and the best part is that it's not greasy and you don't feel heavy or gross after eating multiple slices. Would definitely recommend this. I would definitely continue coming back to Centro Pizza because they seem to have a good thing going now after being open for over a few years at this point. I was pretty satisfied with the quality of their pizzas without a doubt.

Dinning outside, even in 50 degree weather, was nice. The pizza is excellent and very reminiscent of pizza I had when I lived in Italy. Service was fast and friendly. Good wine selection and all priced right for the quality of food. Don't live in the area but I wish I did... the pizza was amazing. Well done Centro Pizza! read more

Randomly picked Centro Pizza for the first time and I'm so glad I did! The pizza was exactly how I like it! Crispy crust with lots of fresh toppings! Excellent! Also ordered the Beet Salad!! Excellent! Perfect combo with the pizza. I would definitely return and try more items on the menu. Don't pass on Centro Pizza they are making delicious food over here. Enjoy. read more

Centro pizza has the best Neapolitan style pizza in Burlingame. The crust and cornicione is truly crunchy yet soft and fluffy. I don't think this place is AVPN but it is up there in quality. The ingredients are top notch and the pizziaolo knows what he's doing - our pies get beautiful leopard spotting melted cheese. As a true neapolitan pizza (and not a Brooklyn-style Neapolitan pizza as served at other places) expect a limper bottom crust and easier digestibility than other pizza joints in town. If I had any reservations or hesitations about this place it is that there are a bit too many toppings and sauce compared to the best in Naples, where they let the dough shine a bit more, though i suspect that is an accommodation of American expectations around how heavily topped a pizza is. Even though we live a couple blocks from Burlingame ave we will make the trek up to broadway to get pizza from Centro, it's worth it. read more

Slices are floppy in the center and puffy and bubbly on the rim - exactly like you'd find in Naples. Pro tip: Fold the pointy end in towards the crust, and enjoy! read more

Where do I even begin? I've been looking for the best Neapolitan style pizza in the Bay Area for months now... I've been to Il Casaro in SF, Lucia's in Berkeley, Doppio Zero (SF and MV), Pizza Napoletana in MV and many other places and alas - I've found the best one!!! The dough is just perfection. It's not too thin, crisp and charred on the outside yet it's chewy and springy when you pull it. Just amazing. How can a dough be so many things at the same time? The tomatoes are not acidic at all and is slightly sweet. I've tried 3 pizzas so far - Sapore, Centro and Diavola. Diavola is definitely my fave! Scrumptious and spreadable nduja sausage was just perfect. Centro is a close second for me because I've never had a pizza topped with guanciale. Besides the amazing food, service is also on point. Servers and hosts are friendly, and Francesco is very warm and hospitable. Highly recommend this place!!! read more

4-4.5 stars but rounding up. This was the best neapolitan pizza I've had in a while. It was busy at 7:15pm on a Sunday, but there were some tables opening up. I opted for a bar seat to watch them make the pizzas. They have 10 different pizzas to choose from, at least one daily special pizza, and a few salads, antipasti, and dessert options. According to their menu, their pizzaiolo, Francesco, came all the way from Naples. I ended up trying: -Margherita (Tomato, Mozzarella, Basil, Olive Oil, $13 + $5 DOP Buffalo Mozzerella, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=_mdhTFOfKHJ_TbyTWkYlJg&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Yum! The flavor of the tomato sauce was delicious, but it was a little too watery. They also needed to add more basil since there were only 3 leaves on the entire pizza. Aside from that, this is one of the best margheritas I've had in a while- recommended! -Pizza Sapore (Prosciutto, Mozzarella, Arugula, Burrata, Olive Oil, $20, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=J6e8fFrDKNCuvKAy8wsdBg&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Yum- it's hard to go wrong with prosciutto and burrata. Their pizza crust though, that was the clear winner here. It had a nice crunch on the outside, but the inside was super fluffy and chewy. The staff here is super friendly and attentive, and the pizza came out quickly. They have beer, wine, and Prosecco available, but not a full bar. If you decide to sit at the bar area (like I did), you can watch them make the pizzas, and they also have a couple of large screen TVs with local sports games on. I will definitely be back to try more of their pizzas, and their charcuterie board also looked delicious. Parking can be difficult here but there are a few parking lots available. read more

This place makes some great pizza pie. I came here with my wife for "data night" and we split a salad and pizza for dinner, which was just enough food for us. Diavola: 4/5. This has tomato, mozzarella, Calabrese 'NDUJA sausage, and basil. The crust was one of the best I have had on the peninsula and I really enjoyed the toppings. Everything was flavorful and fresh. One of the best pizza places I've been to in peninsula. Friendly staff fast service and super clean. The quality of the dough is fluffy and not heavy at all. The ingredient are very fresh and they use the right amount of toppings just so satisfying. The Margherita pizza was very delicious a must try. Very close to authentic pizza you try in Italy. My new favorite pizza spot in Burlingame! I am a huge fan of neapolitan pizza, and their margherita was absolutely perfect! The crust was spongey and fluffy, and it was perfectly cooked in the brick oven. My friend and I came on a Sunday night and it was poppin! The place was packed but we were luckily able to get a small table for two. It's located in a very quiet Burlingame downtown area, but parking is pretty available. I ordered the margherita pizza and my friend got the marinara. The staff told us it would be a 30 minute wait for pizza, which we appreciated them telling us in advance. We actually didn't end up waiting 30 minutes, more like 20?! The pizzas were the perfect size for one, and the crust was super chewy and soft. The margherita was simple but just the way I liked it. Surprisingly, I liked the marinara even more, since it had lots of yummy garlic. TLDR, come here if you get the chance! The pizza is amazing! read more

10/10 delish. We stopped in Burlingame after having an afternoon to wait around on catching our flight. Looked up Yelp reviews and decided to try this place. It's in a cute area with a few little shops and other restaurants around. We were lucky to snag a table right before 6pm, as it then formed a line outside of folks waiting to get in. We had the Pomodoro Bruschetta and ordered the Pizza Sapore (amazing). Everyone was raving about the crust on previous reviews, and boy were they right! Light and fluffy with a little crispiness on the bottom. SO good! Not sure why I would ever be back in Burlingame, CA......but if I was this would be a stop FOR SURE. read more

I've been to this place a few times before COVID and it was wonderful. The last two Saturdays I went back and sat outside on the patio, the food and service are as good as ever, maybe even better! A new place pizza on broadway and it does not disappoint. They have really cute decor inside and love the big fire brick oven that you can see exactly your pizza bing made. They are really quick at getting it to you. I ordered the prosciutto and pork pizza to go and they were fantastic. Very well made. They only two negatives are you, you have to come in and place the order to go and that the pizza on gets a little too burned. Otherwise I'll be back here again. read more

So I'm new to the area and I ordered my favorite pizza from this local spot (Centro) that has 4.5 stars. Sadly, I was left underwhelmed and disappointed. I was definitely not satisfied with my Margherita pizza. I have never had Margherita pizza with one single basil leaf. What I received was basically a 20.00 cheese pizza. I saw other reviews and I did not get the same quality. Sad tummy tonight. **I left an extra star specifically because front of house was friendly and inviting. read more

It was just alright. The vibe is good, service was friendly. The pizza was just ok. The pork jowl was an interesting topping so went with that pizza. It was just poorly executed in just one big piece in the middle that was poorly cut. It woulda been better cut into smaller pieces spread over the pizza. I don't know if it was because it was one big piece , but the jowl was really really tough. I couldn't even eat it. Just had to take it off the pizza because I couldn't bite into it. I tried to cut it with a knife and it was also impossible. Sad. The tomatoes and capers on the pizza were good though. I'd maybe give it another shot in a few months. Maybe I came at a bad time. Parking wasn't bad around there, and it's a super family friendly place. read more

Man, lucky to have this spot in Broadway- Burlingame! Best pizza I've had - reminds me of Tony's in SF. We had the meatball and the margarita. They we're both incredible! A star has been born tonight - this place is going to make Broadway a cool neighborhood all on its own. Come and try this spot - amazing. I feel full but not over stuffed. I don't know if it will be good to-go, but eating it fresh out the oven is definitely better. I would most definitely be coming back. Best pizza in Burlingame/Hillsborough, hands down. Amazing wood fire oven, Neapolitan style. Certified by me, born and raised in Italy. Diavola is great. Margherita is great (ask for buffalo mozzarella instead of regular mozzarella), the prosciutto one too. Best than any other pizza spot on Burlingame Ave. read more

I am so happy there is a place serving authentic Neapolitan pies in Burlingame. Delfina's pies have been a bit dry lately for some odd reason. We ordered the Margherita and 'Nduja and they were superb. Perfect crust, well seasoned. Run, don't walk to this place. read more

Ao close to five stars! Maybe because the pizza I ordered had a lot of toppings (Capricciosa ) the crust was undercooked. It was so thin and it really was cooked perfectly at the crust end. It was not just soggy though, it was doughy. Toppings were amazing - literally 90 more seconds in the oven and I am sure it would have been perfection!! Next time I will try the Margarita - and request a "well done" pizza. read more

A Slice of Heaven at Centro Pizza! I recently dined at Centro Pizza and was absolutely delighted by the experience. I opted for the Caprese ($15), which was a fresh and flavorful start, but the star of the show was undoubtedly the Tartufa ($22). Each bite of the Tartufa was a rich journey through luxurious black truffle cream, perfectly smoked mozzarella, and savory sausage - a combination that was both indulgent and comforting. It's clear that Centro Pizza uses high-quality ingredients, and the care they put into their pizza crafting truly shines through. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and service was good too, only making the meal more enjoyable. We had dinner here last night. The pizzas we ordered we delicious. Lots of choices to get a pie with just the ingredients you want. I am vegan and had the pizza with red sauce and mushrooms. The mushrooms were fantastic. Very flavorful. Vegan cheese was available, but to my taste, not necessary. I could not eat all of my pie and it was almost as good cold today as it was yesterday. My husband enjoyed his pepperoni pizza. Our server, Parker was perfect. Efficient and professional. The restaurant is lovely. Right now there are holiday lights strung through the trees just outside the restaurant which just adds to the charm. read more

I ordered the pesto pizza and was disappointed. The sun dried tomatoes are unbearably salty, and there is zero evidence of cashews or pine nuts in that pesto. No way. There are no nuts in there. The crust was nice and the employees there were nice and friendly and that's why I'm giving it 3 stars but won't be ordering this pizza again.
