We ordered a small birthday cake for a 1 year old's birthday...along with themed cupcakes to go along with that was likely going to be a cake destroyed by a baby. We provided a Funko Pop figure and C'est Si Bon took over from there delivering on a lovely Moana smash cake and beach/ocean themed cupcakes. The team was lovely in taking our order and answering a LOT of questions...we wanted to make sure our 1 year old wasn't going to be swinging from the rafters on a sugar rush, so they swapped out all of the higher sugar frosting offerings for whipped cream. It was perfect. The cupcakes were a real hit. My only downside was that the cupcake taste was just...and this could entirely be because of what we ordered...bland and a bit like something you could get from the grocery store but pricier. In fairness, we haven't gone back for cupcake orders since because of that. HOWEVER...we HAVE picked up cookies several times since so it never deterred us from being repeat customers. Based on other Yelpers, I have made a point of asking when items were baked so I could make my selections of cookies based on what as most recently come out of those ovens...and the team has ALWAYS been so kind with their answers. read more

They had the Mango Mouse cake in stock, and were willing to write on it without any pre-arranged request. If you miss Aki's on Meridian like I do, try this out. It's more a Mouse than Aki's lighter whipped cream version, but still the closest to what anyone else is doing. They're sweet and good natured, the pastry's and the people. I wanted a Disney and Hawaiian themed cake with a monarch butterfly for my partner's birthday, all of which have significant meaning in our relationship. The bakery was very friendly and thoughtful, asking detailed questions around how I'd like it executed. We decided on a tiki mug, Goofy and a monarch butterfly to be part of the aloha shirt. The presentation and artistic detail were fantastic! It was my daughter's second birthday and I was looking for a small cake for a small gathering. Due to covid we were not planning a party but I still wanted to get a cake for the family. I tried looking at various local bakeries and found that C'est Si Bon had a great website with all the information needed and I can just fill a form to request for a quote. I had sent in a request for a custom cake and got a quote within a couple of hours. We decided to go for a simple cake and not go the custom route so I started a new order form. It was easy process and they ask for all the details on the form. Once you are ready to confirm the order, call the bakery to finalize. I was not sure of the icing color and the color of the message, so they helped me with options. I just told them to make a simple cake with small flowers for a 2 year old and gave them full creative rights for colors. I ordered a vanilla cake with mango mousse as my daughter loves mango. The total for a 8 inch cake was $40. The pick up was easy. Cake was ready at the said time. They gave me an option to click a picture in the light box. The cake was prettiest pink and lavender color with edible glitter on it. Everyone commented on the beautiful colors. The cake was soft and mango flavor was perfect. The icing and mousse complemented each other. It was not too sweet that the adults cannot enjoy it, but sweet enough that little one was licking the icing. I had never been to CSB and was not sure how it will be, but I am glad I took a chance. Will be ordering future birthday cakes from here! read more

C'est Si Bon Bakery is a really wonderful place to get your sweet tooth satisfied! They put care into everything they make, and can be as simple as a cupcake or as elaborate as a tiered cake. If you didn't plan in advance for a birthday, they have cakes, cupcakes, cookies and the works available on hand, so you don't have to show up anywhere empty handed. But if you do plan 2 weeks ahead, they can make something special and really custom for you. During these times they're only open 4 hours per day (10AM - 2 PM), but when they're there, they're hustling! I love their seasonal take on things, it's just oh so cute! I ordered a dozen cupcakes from them for the very fair price of $40. The cupcakes were delicious and they were a total hit when I took them to a little birthday gathering. So Thankful! Found out my bestfriend's boyfriend was going to propose and I was in need of a cake! C'est Si Bon Bakery came to my rescue! I called 3 days prior to when I need the cake to be picked up. I was told I couldn't make a custom order cake from start to finish, but they could fine tune a cake that they make daily for the bakery. I was completely fine with that! I wanted a not so sweet, simple, no butter cream frosting, with some sort of fruit in it cake. Not complicated at all right or one could hope. I was in luck! The bakery had a tropical mouse cake, that I could custom the frosting to whip cream instead of the butter cream frosting. An added touch I asked for a blush pink writing to say YES to Forever. Great customer service! I arrived Saturday 10am to pick up the cake. A little busy, so many people were order cakes, I knew it picked a good bakery to try especially with all the amazing reviews. The cake was brought out and it blew my expectations out of the water for a last minute cake order! They added pink ribbon and ribbon frosting to the end of the cake I was so pleased and impress! You can say they exceed my expectations! The soon to be bride and groom loved the simplicity of the cake. What they loved more was the taste of the cake. I got so many raving complements on how amazing the cake tasted that I had to sneak a bite. WOW, that is one darn good cake! Not dry, but perfect vanilla cake, so moist. I really wanted to like this place because it's family owned, local, and all that. I decided to start small by purchasing 'sample cookies' and tasting them. I figured if the cookies were great, then maybe we can order cakes from there, too. Such a disappointment. Obviously baked days before, and stale. That's NOT what I'm looking for in a cookie. If you're going to sell days old cookies, the price needs to reflect that. I'll stay with my favorite, Icing, in Los Gatos. I go visit the store, discuss all the details of the cake, go through the online system to place a request, they send me an email to call them back, which I do, and finalize everything. Call up the day of pick up, and they say I didn't pay a deposit so they didn't go through with the order. NEVER during the call did they mention a deposit. Their response was that the email mentioned a deposit when finalizing the order over phone. WHY WOULD IT BE MY RESPONSIBILITY TO BRING UP THE DEPOSIT WHEN PLACING AN ORDER!!!! What they provided was not close to their previous work. Thanks to Groupon otherwise I never would have made the trek to South San Jose. I bought a deal that was almost too good to be true. I saw a deal and knew I had to buy it. I had a reason = Gavin's 4th birthday. He will be 4 soon. I don't throw parties so I usually do something for him. First weekend of Sept. = his first bike Second weekend of Sept. = museum and cupcakes This weekend = Giants game Last weekend of Sept. = Sharks game and Thornton jersey + Light Rail ride (he loves trains) His actual birthday = trip to fire station so the firefighters can sign his toy fire truck Anyway. The deal on Groupon: $9 for half a dozen was too good to be true but I bought it. Ordering was simple but you have to make sure to read the disclaimers. Groupon orders must be called and reserved ahead of time. They close on Mondays and they close early on Sundays. Customer service was exceptional. Located right by Orchard Supply, it can be easily missed if you are driving. It's a cute little bakery that offers cakes, eclairs, cupcakes, cookies, etc. Everything that I saw were reasonably priced and displayed intricately in a bright and organized display case. I wanted everything. I came here once to get my kids a cupcake and to confirm my order that I placed. I came last Sunday to pickup the cupcakes before the trip to the Children's Discovery Museum. I ordered 2 red velvet, 2 double chocolate, 1 burnt almond, and 1 chocolate and peanut butter. I did not try one until today. I was anticipating a dry cupcake because it has been 5 days (in the fridge) but I was blown away by how rich, decadent, sweet, and moist it still was. I basically went to this bakery because I saw on their instagram that they could make a really nice Hello Kitty cake. Didn't even try their products beforehand; I just decided to put my faith in their work. It was my cousin's graduation and this girl is OBSESSED with Hello Kitty so I ordered red velvet cake with whipped cream and fondant on the outside. Price was not bad considering the design and that it fed more than ten people. When I opened the box, my cousin gave me the most surprised reaction. She was so happy and in awe of the cake. It was perfectly done. I couldn't have asked for more. When it was time to eat it, we were all so amazed by how moist and delicious it was. It wasn't overly sweet and very light. We used C'est Si Bon for our wedding cake per our venue. Shay was very friendly, nice, and helpful. The tasting was fantastic and we loved the flavors we chose. They even let us take home the leftover tastings. On our wedding day, the cake came when we were in our dressing rooms, so I wasn't able to speak with the person who delivered it. It was gorgeous and exactly what I had envisioned. However, the main reason I gave 3 stars on this review is because it was tilted. It was a 3-tier cake. Our photographer had to angle the camera so you couldn't tell in pictures that the top tier was sliding off. We had a friend of the family who also experienced this issue with their wedding cake from C'est Si Bon, except someone noticed it before the deliverer left and they were able to get it fixed. My recommendation is to make sure you ask them to stabilize the cake with small pillars inside rather than just one down the middle. We were told later that our venue no longer has a contract with them as this is a common occurrence. Regardless, they were extremely nice, design was beautiful, and the cake tasted amazing. **Update: I am upgrading my stars on this review because Shay was AMAZING and made it a point to contact us regarding our initial review. It's very rare businesses contact their Yelp reviewers and use those reviews to make their business better. I feel C'est Si Bon went above and beyond. They made us a one year anniversary cake, which got rave reviews from everyone. They braced the two tier cake with several pillars, so the cake didn't slant at all!
