Fast forward six years later, the hype has died down a lot but the drinks are still as aesthetic as ever. On my last visit, I had a white peach drink with CBD which was interesting and definitely relaxing. I felt like I was floating out the door when I left. These days, Cha Cha Matcha does a lot of collaborations with companies like Kosas, Living Proof, and Dr. Barbara Sturm. While they have expanded across the city, I do find myself visiting less and less simply because there is stiffer competition when it comes to matcha drinks. Here's what you have to just learn to accept about Cha Cha Matcha: every single one of their drinks will probably be at least a little watery. Okay. Now that that's done, you can probably enjoy their drinks. I STAND by their Matcha Chai. It's actually the only drink I've gotten here that I like and will come here to re-order. Is it just a little watery, no matter what, no matter how many times I've gotten it? Yes. But, as I said, that's just a fact that I've come to accept. Their Mixed Soft Serve ($6) was Ube and Matcha, and it was a huge amount despite the cup size. It was creamy at first, but the flavors, again, were muted. The Ube tasted more like vanilla, that I'm questioning if this white coloring was actually even ube. The matcha had a more apparent taste, although not enough to break away from the "ube". After eating a whole cup by myself, the flavors soon intertwined to just taste like creamy sweetness to me. I would definitely contemplate coming back. Largely because I've still never tried their soft serve and I have heard delightful things about it. I actually came in this past weekend with a friend before going to brunch because they were doing a makeup kind of event. Except I think there was some kind of mess up or confusion and the Kosas representatives or makeup members never showed up. Really it was just about matching foundation and concealer to your skin tone. Not a biggie. But they were advertising and pushing this brand new matcha beverage as a joint project with the makeup company. It was supposed to be the Strawberry Golden Latte that's like a light blub for your skin. I ordered it not knowing the price of it. Fair warning, the drink is over $10. They don't show that detail anywhere. The drink in itself was something I would normally never drink. There were no strawberries in it. Not a lick of strawberry. There was plenty of matcha, there probably was a heaping amount of ginger and tumeric on the bottom of the cup, the blue spirulina and collagen most likely made it in (which I guess jacks the price up instantaneously). You don't see the delicate layers of the drink like in pictures. It's mostly a pile of green on top of a tiny pile of dark yellow with white fluff and shaving spread of a lightbulb. I'd rather spend $10 on both a drink and a croissant or something. Maybe I'd check out their normal coffee and matcha menu but this drink is a dud.
