Chan Kee is a little confusing. You order your food from a kiosk, but you can also order drinks from your table. Congee seems to be very popular here, but they also offer an all-you-can-eat situation, though what you're all-can-eating is a mystery. I came around 2:00PM on a Thursday and there quite a few people dining. What I was wanted was a big ole bowl of wonton noodles ($14.95) so I ordered one. The wontons at Chan Kee are delish. They're generously sized and very meaty. I didn't care much for the broth or noodles. If I could, I'd order the wontons a la carte. The chicken wings were also pretty good ($11.75). I ordered the salt and pepper version, however they offer many, many sauces, and to my surprise, you can select as many as you want because they're essentially just dipping sauces. So don't do what I did and order the most boring, bland wings. My sister ordered off the all-day breakfast menu, but again, take note because the combos stop at 11:00AM. For $7.75, you get 2 eggs anyway you like, some form of a potato (hash brown for her) and a piece of toast. She added 2 pieces of Spam for $3 bucks. If you like an Asian breakfast situation, do this. The food was fine, but the service was exceptionally slow/bad. While you do order off a kiosk, humans handle your orders and the girls on this shift were not it. My sister got her breakfast 30 minutes after I got my noodles, and by then, we were already 30 minutes committed. That was a tad too long for a fast casual meal. Honestly, with so many better Hong Kong cafes in the area, I'd skip Chan Kee.

I'm normally a fan of Chan Kee because they serve breakfast all day. I was soooooo sad to see their Monrovia location closed down, so we came to this new location in Rowland Heights instead. They are in the same plaza as Dollar Tree and Halal Guys, plenty of parking. Unlike their other locations where there is someone quick to take your order, they have a kiosk here. It's problematic cause it's only one kiosk and all it takes is some confused people to hold up the line for the rest of the customers. My boyfriend had their Shrimp Wonton Soup with Egg Noodle ($14.75) and opted for the hot Hong Kong Style Milk Tea. I had their Thousand Year Egg and Pork Porridge ($14.75) with Chinese Donuts and the Iced Hong Kong Style Lemon Tea. I was really sad they didn't have any beef tongue pastry. It was on their menu but when I was browsing around their kiosk, I came to the conclusion it wasn't available for the day since I checked every category. They had many tables where you can seat yourself. And you can grab your own utensils and condiments too. Most things here are self-served. Considering how less-busy it was than their other locations, I felt like food was slow to come out. My boyfriend liked his wontons and felt like there's a generous amount. However my porridge was really disappointing. This is a dish I had at their other restaurants many times, and this execution was not like it at all. It was strangely bland and I didn't eat much of it. We took it togo and I re-seasoned it when I got home. Fan of the business, but not a fan of this location. I'll trek further to their Diamond Bar location next time if I want some breakfast all day.

Had a great experience here! The self service to avoid tipping was great! And we still had excellent service from the kitchen staff despite them not getting tips. The lady who served us our food was so welcoming and kind. Plenty of parking in the lot (though it could get crowded). Plenty of seating inside. We ordered the milk tea as our free hot drink and it was so good! We also ordered the fried chicken (perfectly crispy and good), the thousand year old congee (very tasty and goes well with the fried bread/yotel), and shrimp wonton (the egg noodles worked well and the shrimp was good). I love that you can pick your side dishes (the salted peanuts were so good and the fried shallots) yourself at the back counter. Overall, it was delicious food and a great experience!

This location recently opened and decided to visit! There was only one other party when we came in so it wasn't crowded at all. We ordered at the kiosk and our order promptly came out! I got the shrimp wonton noodle soup! It was good, but could use a little more flavor. The shrimp wontons were big and plentiful. My partner got the baked Bolognese with cheese. It was sweet and very good! Our other family members ordered the porridge and that was a huge portion! You could definitely eat it for two meals. They chose the rice rolls to go with it. I loved the sauces that they provided with it. All of these orders came with a hot drink. For iced one, you need to pay extra. A good experience and would come back again!

We had a good experience here for my dad's bday; arrived pretty early and there was only 1 table and 3 parties ahead of us at the machine. There parking in the lot, but maybe you'll just have to be a little farther away. Ordering is done at the self kiosk, but I can imagine my parents having a harder time since it's in English only. Once you order, you'll select a pager from the basket, input the number into the kiosk, then complete your order and pay. Fun fact, no tipping! After you finish ordering, you'll find a table. There's utensils and the accoutrements for your congee: peanuts, wonton chips, green onions, pickled veggies, and spicy pickled veggies. When your pager flashes, head to the counter to grab your food; this may come out in bits and pieces. We enjoyed the food and the portions are big enough for leftovers. I'd recommend the congees which are great. The free accompanying drinks are nice too.

Yummy and can be a quick in and out spot when not busy. You order on a kiosk and pick up in the front and put your finished trays away so very little service. We ordered the beef stew with egg noodles both dry and soup versions along with a preserved egg porridge - all decent prices and good sizes. The beef stew was sooo flavorful I'd highly recomme

Decided stop by this place for brunch after passing by a few times. The restaurant has a simple aesthetic, where pratically everything is self-service from the ordering, to seating, and even the serving. You head to the kiosk right when you enter to order, where you will sear yourself and await your buzzer to pick up your food/drink along with the utensils. My family and I opted for their shrimp wontons and beef congee/chow mein combo along with some good old fashioned Hong Kong style milk tea. The food was not bad, where the congee was the best dish compared to the shrimp wontons where they lack in size, flavor, and texture. The portion sizing for the congee was impressive. As for the chow mein, it was not anything special and noodles a bit overdone. The milk tea was very similar to what you would typically get from any Canto/Hong Kong styled diner. Did not really see anything else on the menu besides some additional veggie and shrimp shu mai dishes. Perhaps, the menu is updated during dinner? Overall, food was ok and the only thing that was worthwhile was their congee where essentially 4 people could share from.

Chan Kee has been open for a few months now, but didn't really have the urge to stop by until recently. Overall, food was good but nothing mindblowing. Tried the Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup, Minced Beef Porridge, and Golden Chicken Wings. The Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup was actually better than I expected. The wontons were good, the noodles had decent flavor, and the broth was pretty flavorful. Minced Beef Porridge was alright. Have had better congee elsewhere, but no doubt that they give you a LOT. With as much congee as there is, this could easily be good for two or three meals. Golden Chicken Wings pretty standard, nice fryup. Staff here were really friendly. The ordering is all through self-service kiosk, so the only thing the staff does here is hand your food off after your buzzer goes off. They also clean up everything for you. Again, nothing special. Decent Cantonese comfort food. There are some other menu items I do want to try at some point.

So glad to have tried this place! I love how simple and easy it is to dine here. There is a kiosk where you place your order that was quite handy, however it may be complicated for older Asian customers! This elderly group was having trouble using the kiosk machine, which I wish there was an attendant to help them! But we ended up helping them out to order and navigate with the kiosk machine. Then when it was our turn to order, we selected the porridge combo with chow mein, which it also comes with a free drink! My bf tried the milk tea w/ coffee. It is also 1.50 more to have it iced. We also ordered more sides because I wanted the Zha Liang, and then we ordered a 6pc fried chicken. We ordered and got a pager and went to seat ourselves. It didn't take too long for our order to be prepared, but we would have to pick it up from the counter when each item was ready. The porridge ended up being prepared second to last (before the chicken wings). Going through each item, everything tasted really great! I really enjoyed the Zha Liang here with the sweet sauce, the porridge was pretty nice, chow mein was pretty standard (it was a bit dry), and the chicken wings were pretty good! I was pleasantly surprised with the chicken wings cause the way they fried it was extremely crunchy, yet the chicken was still juicy! I also liked how you can get the toppings from the counter for your porridge. Overall, everything tasted really great! The milk tea was pretty standard too, although it was a bit too sweet for my liking. It could have been stronger. My bf didn't like his milk tea with coffee that much, and he said it wasn't strong at all. Although the drinks were okay, the food here was really good!

My family and I were in Rowland Heights, and I decided to dine at Chan Kee for dinner tonight. When we arrived, there seemed to be no customers in the restaurant. We ordered the following: Seafood Porridge with Soy Sauce Chow Mein and Ice Lemon Tea, Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup with Ice Lemon Tea, Pan Fried Pork Chop with Black Pepper Sauce over Spaghetti with Ice Lemon Tea, and Golden Chicken Wings with Ice Lemon Tea. The food came out quickly, and you can get several tiny side dishes for the porridge at the front counter. Overall, we all love the food and drinks.

Chan Kee is located on Colima at Rowland Heights. It offers wide varieties of Cantonese food and street food, desserts. Decor is modern, eatery, with touch of traditional Hong Kong restaurant. We order two combos, and one chicken rice is almost free as part of promotion. Dishes taste good and authentic. They are solid choices. Great price, portions, and taste is better than average. Everything taste good except the icy dessert is not sweet. Chan kee's waitress is very friendly and in my option it offers good value and good for quick meals.

This place is interesting. I haven't been to a HK restaurant where everything is self served. They've been open a few months and the place is super spacious and clean. Their deals are pretty good. Around $15 you can get a giant pot of porridge or a bowl of shrimp wonton egg noodles. For better value, get the porridge. That one comes with a side noodle dish. The service may be conceive as not the friendliest, because I don't think they speak English that well. They speak Cantonese and probably a little better service. I've been to HK and in general, most don't have the best service manners. However, service was ok for me here although my friend though the staff was also not so friendly. Their meals come with unsweetened milk tea. You might want to add the self serve syrup for more sweetness or order condense milk. Overall, food and value was pretty good. I would come back.
