Best Mongo for sure!! All the staff is excellent and kind! I think the best part would definitely be the pricing! You really get the bang for your buck! I'm not sure about the lunch buffet, but the dinner buffet comes with soup, yummy fried chips, large bowl of rice, and I believe salad too. The Mongolian is unlimited, and the bowls are very large. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Folsom. The ingredients the restaurant puts out in the food line is solid, and the food itself tastes very good. On top of that, the place is very affordable. My only complaint is that the food line is often dirty, but that's somewhat understandable since this place gets so many customers. The wontons weren't old and stale, they actually seemed fresh enough to be homemade but when I asked the employee said they buy them, must be a good connection. Very well priced, one trip is all you'll need and it comes out to less than $12. More like B-OK but don't want to give them only 2 stars. First the good stuff: It's cheap! Dinner all you can eat is $9. Unlimited Mongolian BBQ plus a b-grade hot & sour soup, rice, dessert. Also, the meat and the veggies seemed fresh. Now for the down side. Service is really lacking. There are no price sits or instructions for those who have no clue how MBBQ works. I asked the waitress if I could order drinks from her. She pointed at the BBQ line where there was indeed a cooler with some beers etc. However, there was no one there only the cooks at the huge griddle. Later I figured out that she just does not understand even basic English. One younger waitress did and was able to get me a Kirin. Usually I put too much in my bowl, too much meat, and I go really heavy on the sauces/spices. I wanted to be careful this time and not waste food. The hot oil seemed full of seeds, the garlic seemed abundant in its liquid. I didn't go easy on those. But when my food came out, it was pretty bland. I actually went back a second time, went heavier on the meat and just added some onions, scallions and then drenched all with sauces. The stuff was swimming in the bowl. But the food came out much more flavorful. But still not really spicy. It seems they must dilute the sauces to an almost homeopathic degree. I also don't like that you can't just leave your bowl at the counter and then they bring you the food. It really backs up the line. read more

Once again this place doesn't fail to hit the spot. This place has been consistently excellent these past years. They have calamari and shrimp now with the bowls. My favorite thing about this restaurant is the little chips with the sweet and sour sauce. So tasty!! For around $11 you can have an all you can eat meal. This place is great for a big man lol. Being 6'10 and 270 it's hard not spending at least $20 for a fulfilling meal. I wish I had one of these closer to my school since I'm studying in the east bay. It's a bit overwhelming if you're a newbie. Make sure to go with someone who has been here before. I walked in and immediately was confused. Luckily for me, my husband has been here multiple times for lunch with coworkers. The hostess asks you how much people are in your party and you immediately go straight to the food line. Once your food is done, the hostess directs you to your table. There was a bowl of rice and soup waiting for us at our table. It can be a tad bit frustrating since they don't clean up the grill after each use so you sometimes end up with ingredients from other people's bowls. Just politely ask the cook if he can clean the grill. TIPS: Don't be afraid or shy to load up on veggies and meat. They will shrink once cooked. read more

I always look forward to coming to Chang's Mongolian Grill! It's so yummy and hits the spot when you're craving something warm and yummy for those colder days. It is very clean and there is plenty of seating. You never have to wait for your table to be done because by the time you are finished preparing your bowl, it's set! I usually come in for dinner and although it get's busy, the lines to make the food is never too long. The service is always quick and friendly, especially with drink refills. Great for groups- I've been here for a few birthdays in the past and they are very accommodating. This was our first visit, and it wasn't bad, BUT wasn't the greatest either. The food counter has a good selection of items but could be more extensive. The sauce section of the bar was a little of a let down. There were really only two option suggested and lacked a variety of many others I.e. sweet and sour, peanut sauce, teriyaki etc... We did the all you can eat and we're pretty much finished the second bowl and we weren't allowed to take the rest of it with us (doggie bag on first bowl only). They have THE WORKS here. I like how neatly their meat is sliced and rolled up, and I really like all the different sauces you can create. I was looking for something different that was packed with fresh veggies and savory sauce when Chang's popped up on the map. This is the spot for fresh, made to order delicious nourishment at a very reasonable price. One bowl for $11 or all you can eat for $13, and you get a complimentary appetizer that's light and tasty. I don't use sweet and sour but the 'chips' are good enough on their own. You also get a bowl of white rice to have with your entree so if you'd rather not have the noodles at the ingredients bar you'll have rice once you get seated. Service was prompt and food was ready in about a minute. There are suggestions for how much sauce to use as well as the recipe for the Kung-Pao sauce method. If you like spice there is an oil for that but I used two spoons full and there was hardly any spice to it, however the finely ground white pepper on the table was a perfect compliment and kicked the heat up a notch. What's in the pic: Carrots, cabbage, broccoli, jalapeños, mushrooms and more mushrooms, noodles, baby corn, one spoon garlic, two spoons Kung-pao sauce, two spoons chili oil, one spoon soy sauce, salt and pepper to taste. A wonderful restaurant with great service. Been a patron since the early 90s. 10/10 would recommend.

The sauces were under-flavored. They give you a basket of fried wonton skins, but no gyozas or rangoons, which is kinda disappointing. You get a big bowl of non-sticky white rice that you can serve yourself onto your...nonexistent other bowl? The soup was straight up gross; the texture was disturbingly viscous and it was more sour than hot. The sweet and sour sauce was equally as creepy in texture. It was a pretty basic Mongolian BBQ experience; I didn't want my money back, so three stars for that. Weird experience, overall. Will not return. read more
