Food does not taste as good as in the past. I went on Aug. 7th and sauces and even the hot pepper oil were all watered down. Even worse was that after eating, still sitting at the table talking, I started to get stomach cramps. Then my husband and I remembered that when we came here last year I had the same problem. Yummy Mongolian... I've been here a few times and have always enjoyed my bowl of yummy goodness. I do have to say that your selection of sauces will make or break your bowl! My friend that goes with me seems to have a better take on the quantity of different sauces that melt together in a melody of Mongolian deliciousness! While walking through the line, the man in front of us complained profusely about the "messy" counter and people touching some of the items. Tried other Mongolian bbq's closer to me, but I still always come back here. For 10+ years, I've consistently had good/ fresh food and service. Seriously- this is the best one in the greater Sac area IMO. Is it outdated? Sure! ...and occasionally their ice cream machine is broken, but it's clean and welcoming. Never had food poisoning or an upset stomach, they constantly clean up, the bathroom always smells nice, clean, well vented. The owners/ family run this place well and work hard. Rarely do I have to ask for water refills. They've always been soo nice and attentive! The price is very reasonable for what you get. I always leave full and happy! Yes they take COVID precautions. They ask you to wear a mask until you're seated and provide gloves when building your bowl. I can't/ won't fault them if someone wants to be rude by not following their requests. read more

Yum yum in my tum tum! I've been coming here for years and it's always delicious. I should have taken a photo of my masterpiece but was too involved with eating it. They have a good variety of items to make the perfect bowl. The veggies are always fresh and fully stocked. I don't eat meat so can't speak to that but the tofu is good. One thing I wish they had to top off my bowl is some of those chow mein crunchy noodles that other Mongolian BBQ's have. I like a nice crunch with my food. There is also soft serve vanilla ice cream for dessert if you haven't stuffed yourself silly. Lastly, the staff is always friendly and attentive. read more

This was our go-to spot for Mongolian BBQ - friendly staff, good meat & veggie choices, plus ice cream for dessert. You need to double on the scoop for the sauces 'cause it is a little diluted. However during the past 2 years we've been eating here, their AC issue still stands during summertime. It is sweaty hot inside the restaurant during peak hot summer and it still persists this year. My husband and I had dinner there over the weekend around 4pm and we were sweating bullets. This shouldn't be the case especially with how much their prices have increased. Staff said people came over and fixed the issue however we still didn't feel comfortable. Hoping they fix this issue permanently. read more

Came here last Friday night and was pleasantly surprised. The variety of meat and veggies is pretty standard. I like how there are two options for noodles and two seafoods (shrimp and squid). The sauces are also pretty comprehensive. Overall, the staff is pleasant and even if there is a long line for cooking, it moves pretty fast. The price for AYCE was also very reasonable. This place is a bit far for us but we would definitely make the trip to come back. Also- it's very kid friendly. My daughter probably ate her weight in noodles. read more

Everything looks fresh. Service is great.BUT... this is the first Mongolian barbecue I have ever been to at least during the lunch hours that doesn't seem to clean off their grill very often. This causes everybody else's sauce who went before you to be burned on the grill so by the time they cook yours all it taste like is burnt sauce so every time I come in, I have to ask them to clean it which they don't seem to be very happy about, so I don't know that I will be returning. I don't have this issue with the Mongolian barbecues in Roseville or Citrus Heights. That's really the only complaint I have about this place otherwise it's great and the options they offer are also great. read more

they setup look like they really cater to the customer / diner they don't have to have soft serve ice cream but they do don't know why these Mongolian grills service white rice as a side - waste of food but I used it could be cooler in the summer it may be unbearable, if a/c is too expensive then use multiple fans so many asian owned places skimp on the a/c read more

One of the best Mongolian BBQ in Nor Cal! I used to live in Placerville and would go to down to Folsom to do my shopping and this was my go to Mongolian BBQ Place! Ive lived in the Bay Area for 4 years now and there's isn't any Mongolian BBQ here! So when I go back to visit friends and family i always get Mongolian bbq at Chang's! Food is good! We love this place, the food is great and the servers & cooks friendly & welcoming. Today at lunch, however, it was FREEZING in there, 43 outside and not much warmer inside. The back door must have been open too, you could feel the ice-cold air coming in. It's hard to enjoy your meal while sitting in a walk-in freezer, and unless they turn up the heat to make their customers comfortable, we'll have to stop coming for lunch. The best Mongolian in the Sacramento area but get ready to pull your wallets out. It's too expensive ( I think around $16 for lunch and $23 for dinner). If the prices were better they would get a solid 5 star review. The food is excellent the service is good but the place itself is old and outdated. They should redo their inside. I have been stopping in to Chang's periodically for a few years now...haven't gotten around to a review until now. I really enjoy this place. Just stopped in with my friend very recently - we had a wonderful experience. The place was almost to capacity, which speaks to popularity. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful - both in variety and how well-stocked they were. My friend got chicken and beef with the smaller noodles and veggies. I got the smaller noodles with veggies - so many delicious veggies! I did tip the two wok guys, who both took time to thank me, which was nice. Once at our table, the waitress brought the rice, won ton chips, water, and soup to us. The meal was delicious, I only had my bowl and some won ton chips, but my friend enjoyed the soup and rice as well. They also have a soft serve ice cream machine, but neither of us tried it out. The couple sitting in the booth next to us thanked the waitress for always having good food and service, which goes to show how people enjoy this experience a lot. The pricing is good for what you can get (so much food) and the place is clean and accessible. Definitely a place to check out if you are having some Mongolian grill cravings! read more

If you live in Folsom stop by. You can smell the amazing food even from outside. I had my doubts at first, thinking 'oh this is gonna be a 3-star. Nope. One of my favorite restaurants, make sure to stack your bowl high as possible because each bowl is a set price. Soup is a little weird and slimy (which is the point) but still good lol. Some of the best toppings are baby corns, chicken, pork, medium size noodles, broccoli, and mushrooms. Btw, sauces are diluted a bit, so get extra extra. We have eaten here a few times and it's usually pretty good however this time it was not. Everything was dirty. We didn't get our soup or asked if we wanted drinks. Every station you went to was dirty, even the giant cooking wok was surrounded by cooked and uncooked veggies and meat all over the sides My actual meal was good but then again as with any Mongolian place I was partially responsible for the building of the food. I loooove to eat noodles so finding a place where I can customize my bowl is like a dream come true! I am not a big fan of meat so I like to load my bowl with veggies and they have a very large selection to choose from. They even have a very good selection of sauces to use. The place is clean. Service is typical asian restaurant service and I never expect too much from authentic asian restaurants. Located in a big plaza so there is plenty of parking. I have to come here to eat everytime I go to Folsom. Honestly, $10 for a big bowl of noodle that comes with free rice, appetizer, soup, and desert is a great deal to me! So me and my husband arrived at 430 pm conveniently everything was ready fresh to our consumption. Not only was there beef pork lamb and chicken there was a sea food option of calamari and shrimp. When we returned to our table we were greeted with hot soup and chips with sweet and sour sauce. The service was great! The only downside to this experience was the ice cream machine was down. Ok, we have been going to this restaurant for years, even when you can only sit outside. I thought they nailed it having a buffet and making it work with all the Covid stuff. Wear your mask and gloves while you are hovering over other customers food. Felt safe to us. Today we go. the younger couple in front in the buffet line wearing no mask, no gloves and bragging they are not vacated started in on anyone wearing a mask and or the gloves this restaurant is asking you to do to keep others safe is brain washed. The manager and worker could only say sorry. So that's how this business is keeping their customers safe? So letting unvaccinated customers wearing no masks or gloves touch all the same utensils that everyone else is going to use, hovering over all the food products that they make their own employees wear a mask and gloves to keep their customers safe is ok? I would look for another restaurant to spend your money at that does care for the health and well being of all their customers. I know it's not easy, but when you know you have two people unvaccinated per their own out loud statements, going through your buffet line with no mask, no gloves is not a way to keep your customers safe. NO AIR CONDITIONING was running in this place!! Probably TOO CHEAP to turn it on. Instead they have fans blowing the hot air around. It's a hundred degrees outside!! No excuses for making your customers go through that. The floor in front of the buffet is sticky and has food all over it. Never once saw anyone clean the floor. The shrimp and calamari were just sitting in luke warm water because they allowed the ice to melt. So gross. The meats are not lean cuts and the sauces are watered down. Never coming back. read more
