I've done breakfast sandwiches and lunch a handful of times each and have enjoyed everything I put in my face at Charleston Bagel Co. The En Fuego wrap has been my favorite so far being full of chicken, beans, pico, and Monterrey jack. They have a whole section of house made cream cheese for sale and you can even get day old bagels for 1/2 price. I can't wait to try more options here and see myself coming back often for breakfast or lunch. read more

The food was pretty ok, but the customer service was absolutely horrible. This is pointed directly at one person. The expediter that has no hair and in his 40s. This man is a sexist ass hole that catered to men but couldn't do the same for a woman who only ask if her order was on the ticket line after waiting 20 MINUTES for one bagel..... the other staff were very nice. But this guy was sarcastic, rude, and above all else very condescending. I asked him if my ticket/name was on the line and told me "I don't know, they have the tickets, so.... I can't help you." Basically he wouldn't turn around and look for my name on a ticket.... But a few moments later a man asked the same question and helped him accordingly.... Finally found a delicious bagel spot in mount pleasant! Moving down from NJ (worlds best bagels) I have been craving a nice bagel. This place does the trick! They have many different types of bagels as well as different breakfast sandwiches. They even have TAYLOR HAM!! I went to look for a nice bagel place in Mt. Pleasant and found this amazing place. The interior is cozy and nicely decorated. I got the chocolate chip with honey walnut cream cheese and it is delicious!! For drink I got the java chip blended iced coffee with whipped cream which was not super sweet, which is just right for me! It's a nice place to relax and hang with family and friends. I love this place!!!! I would recommend it to anyone but I've only had breakfast! There is still so much more for me to discover but I think they have the best bagels around!! They are so fresh and inexpensive with a ton of different flavors. The Tuscan bagel is DELICIOUS!!! (Tuscan - Italian seasoning, olives and mozzarella - go try it!) They also are very inexpensive! Bagels are under two bucks but the CC minimum is $5 so I have to get 2 or 3 bagels to use my card. Reasonably priced so I have to buy more? Yes, please! Great location, too! I am baffled by all the glowing reviews of the bagels here. These are not authentic bagels but an approximation. Good enough, I guess, since there don't seem to be any real bagel places around the Charleston area. Let me say, I really want to like this place. Have been coming here over *years* hoping that their service would one day become less surly (not yet!), and that their food would improve (sadly no). Today I tried a "cheese" omelet (was that American cheese? if so, memo: that's not real cheese!) it was supergreasy, and a lukewarm coffee, with a side of grumpiness at the counter. Service is sub-par at best! Wide ordered a blueberry bagel which was right behind the cash register...15mins later we're told they're out of blueberry bagels. I've been to Charleston Bagel Company a few times now, and each time I've left satisfied. I'm from New Jersey, so of course, my standards are pretty high when it comes to a good bagel. When I first walked through the front doors, I have to say that I was a little taken aback by how pricey the items on the menu are. I'm used to my bagels being 90 cents each, but here the prices are significantly higher (not to mention - these are much smaller than the average New Jersey/New York bagel). But I'll be fair, as I've had my share of lackluster bagels, and these definitely aren't. Charleston Bagel Company is always well stocked with a variety of flavors, ranging from the traditional everything or poppy seed to the more adventurous, such as the sundried tomato or asiago-jalapeno. There are so many options, and never enough time left in Charleston to try them all! Nestled in Mount Pleasant's bustling shopping center on Long Point Road, I've never found this place empty. Whether that's a product of its ideal location, or its delicious bagels, I'm not sure. I work very close to the CBC and on the weekends I DREAM about coming here for the Irish Reuben. My mouth is salivating just thinking about it, and I was there just yesterday (for the second time this week I might add...). I accidental stumbled upon these delicious delicious bagels when I was on my lunch break one day. I was in a sleepy haze so I drove over to the Starbucks (just a stones throw away from CBC) to get a coffee. I had a bunch of time to kill still and was feeling a little hungry. I didn't want anything too expensive or to sit down in a formal restaurant or anything. I drove by CBC and figured I'd give it a try. I walked in at 1:45, what I didn't realize is that they close at 2! I didn't even pay any attention to the sign on the door. They didn't say a peep to me about them closing in 15 minutes, not even when I told them it was for 'here.' Since it was my first time there I was lost on what to order. I asked the cashier what she recommend. She rattled off a number of things (mostly off of the breakfast side) but it was so late in the day already I wasn't feeling very breakfast-y. She then said she recommended the Irish Ruben. I looked up at the cute chalkboard menu and it sounded pretty dang good! Corned beef, cheese, coleslaw (just trust me on this one!!), lettuce, tomato, and mustard on a bagel. They ask you if you want it hot or cold, go with hot! It's so warm and melty and delicious with that cool slaw on top....YUM!! I've never had it cold (why fix what's not broke, ya know?) but I'm sure it would still be scrumptious. You pick any of the bagels they aren't sold out of (this was 15 minutes to closing time, remember? lol) and they get to work on constructing the amazing saucer of deliciousness. My personal favorite is the everything bagel. It goes SO well with the Irish Ruben. Unfortunately, the rest of Charleston is in love with the everything bagel as well so if you show up at 1:45 like I did, they may be out of it. Love bagels? This is the place to go! They have a great variety of delicious breakfast and sandwich options as well as some tasty sweet treats. Limited seating but they do have outdoor dog friendly seating as well. Also, I recommend going early when the bagels are fresh baked, they are the best right out of the oven :) read more

So like my other Charleston reviews, I've only been a couple of times but I really liked Charleston bagel. Good location, plenty of parking and in a cool shopping center. Also a good setting, has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Great big menu on the wall with specials. Highly recommend the Charleston Club. The person working the register on Sunday morning was extremely cordial and made it a point that they appreciated my business, even if it was just a bagel sandwich and a drink. My only complaint is there isn't a list of the types of bagels available. I realize this changes based on what is baked for the day, and luckily I asked if they had any jalapeno bagels (they did, but it wasn't spicy :( Oh my other complaint is Pepsi products instead of Coke. My husband and I adore this place. We always come for brunch on Sundays. Very fresh selection of bagel sandwiches and breakfast burritos. I get the Maybank every time I go, which has turkey, grilled onions, bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and cream cheese. I get it on a wheat everything bagel. It's my favorite so far. I'm dying to try the Fisherman, which is their version of lox. We love the fruit salad, which is extra and part of the side + drink combo that you can add on to any entree. Service has been great the four times we've been here and we have yet to be disappointed in the food - it's always great. Just a tip...they sell one day-old bagels for half the price, so check for those before you go and buy the full-priced ones. We're loyal customers through and through. read more

The staff seems to be mostly high school students, which is great because I think you should work in high school, but is also a detriment, because they don't seem to care about working too hard or getting your order right. My sandwich came out a sloppy mess. Bacon only on one side, some mystery meat in there..Come on guys, have some pride in what you do. Like most great bagel places, CB sells out of popular flavor early so come early if you want something specific. That being said, you can't go wrong with anything you pick. I really wanna like this place, despite its lackluster bagels, but I feel like I'm the victim of an inside joke. Last bfast wrap I got didn't have the sausage it was supposed to, but today's wrap(the Buenas Dias) decided to have a "hold my beer moment". Not only no sausage, but only one egg. The half I did eat was a mess of solely beans, pico, and cheese, which would be ok if I had ordered the bean burrito at Taco Bell. I decided to not eat, and just dissect the second half, where the lone egg was found, tho still no sausage. Am I the only victim to this apparent Sausagegate??? Decent bagels, but nothing I'm writing home about. It's their service that is really lacking. Last two experiences have been a let down. You would think a toasted bagel with a smear would not be that difficult. Last week, they gave me the wrong bagel (I get my bagels to go so I got this nice surprises once I get to work). This week, I got the correct bagel but it wasn't toasted. On top of that, you really need to see how much cream cheese they put on this thing. I'd have to call it "heavy" cream cheese. It really is a ridiculously large amount. I scraped off enough to cover almost two additional bagels. I get in there pretty early. Definitely before the morning rush. So there's really no good excuse. For a restaurant that specializes in bagels, these guys are seemed to be challenged to deliver a decent product with good service. They need a good manager in there to run this place and monitor service and quality. read more
