Thai tea here is good! I really wanted to try the original Thai tea soft serve but it is only available on the weekends. Inside is big and roomy with seating and there is a parking lot. You can order yourself through an iPad and drinks come out quickly. Definitely coming back.
Some of the best Thai tea in town can be found at ChaTraMue, a beloved brand from Thailand. This is a pretty sizable cafe in a rather strange part of downtown, but the upside is there's an entire parking lot with free parking--except the nights when there's the night market (not sure if it's still running). There's a machine you can order on and the drinks out pretty quickly, even when there was only one guy working late at night. Service is always friendly. I absolutely love the green Thai tea, it's much lighter and more floral than traditional Thai tea. They sell tins and bags of the tea you can buy to make at home! The boba is pretty nice too, not the best in LA but pretty chewy and they have it in pandan flavor as well.
Visited this cafe for the first time and I absolutely love the vibes. The inside is cozy with plenty of comfortable seating. I had their jasmine green milk tea without boba and it was really delicious without being overly sweet!
Located inside LAX-C's plaza is ChaTraMue. It's the quintessential Thai tea joint from Thailand. It was established in 1945 and has been trusted for over 80 years. They have a variety drinks, but they're famous for the very popular Thai iced tea. I opted for the Thai Tea Slushee, my wife the Original Thai Tea and my daughter the Sala Milk. For the Thai tea, we opted for 70% sweetness and it was still very sweet. We'll have to try the next one down which is 30% next time we're in the area. The Original Thai Tea would've been perfect if it wasn't so sweet and same goes for the slushee. I felt that if it was less sweet, it would be perfect. I'll have to ask if I can bring down the sweetness of the slushee the next time I'm there. As for the Sala Milk, it was a hard no for everyone. I've never had this before - even in Thailand. Unfortunately, my daughter took a sip and was done with it. Definitely will come back to try other flavors and adjust the sweetness levels of our drinks. Don't forget to grab yourself some tins of tea to take home and make in the comfort of your home!

After taking two sips from a straw, this is how much you get for $5.75. I asked for a little less ice, and they did let me know the cup wouldn't be full. They also refuse to give you less than 30% sweetness. I can no longer support this place. Having 3/4 of a drink I paid $5.75 for because I didn't want half the cup filled with ice is crazy. I was annoyed to see how empty it was before I drank anything but when I saw how empty it was after two literal sips, I had to take a picture and leave a review. This was the last straw, literally and figuratively...
#1 Thai milk tea for a reason. I tried both the original Thai milk tea and the green milk tea, and they were incredible in completely different ways--bold, fragrant tea flavor without being overly sweet or diluted. You truly won't find a better Thai tea spot than this. ChaTraMue is especially special because it's the original Thai tea brand from Thailand, established in 1945, and you can really taste the quality and tradition in every sip. This isn't trendy milk tea--it's the real deal. I only wish they had a location on the Westside of L.A., but until then, it's absolutely worth the drive. Parking was also easy thanks to their dedicated lot. 10/10 -- excellent, authentic tea flavor.

Very clean and organized. Beautiful wall mural artwork. Cozy designed seating arrangement. Very warm and friendly reception as well as service.,Staff nicely gave us a heads up their coffees and teas has mild laxative effect with it. We have about 45 min. drive home but what the h...:: , ordered my black coffee anyways. Didn't pay attention but it was cold not hot ( expecting hot). Very different and odd taste. Sweet, bitter, pungent, rooty or earthy and not sure what but oddly I liked it., Big suspense was getting home safely from a different kind of accident. We got home fine and so guess the staff warning did not work for me. Eager to go back and try other item/s in their menu hopefully with more time to stay and make sure I'll be safe again on my trip back home.,
This place was alright. Ample parking. Really wanted to love the Rose Milk tea but this simply tasted like milk. And the pandan boba (green coconut boba) just tasted like agar. Cute cup though. For the price it was lacking tons of flavor. It's funny how they advertise Natural Laxative effects on their menu, although I'm not lactose intolerant, serves as a warning for the less fortunate I guess (?).
The OG ChaTraMue all the way from Thailand! Love that this location is so near to me and has parking in the front. The lady working there was so nice and welcoming. There's a decent amount of seating. I ordered the Thai green milk tea with honey pandan boba. This drink was delicious. Creamy with the perfect amount of sweetness and the boba was nice and chewy. Came here for the first time today. It's was a cute little shop near Chinatown, LA. Immediately noticed the insane number of people at the store, nearly every table/chair that was available in and outside were filled. We walked over to the self-service kiosk and purchased our drinks. I got myself the Green Thai Tea and my friend got the Original Thai Tea. It took about 10-15 mins after ordering to receive our drinks, both drinks were really sweet even after selecting 70% sweetness level, I had to allow time for the ice to melt before I continued to consume the drink. The service here was decent, but I was definitely a little confused about the order pick up situation. As I used the kiosk to place the order, they were calling out order numbers instead of names, which freaked me out a little bit because I assumed I had missed the order number after I finished placing the order. I had asked the girl at the counter and I'm not sure if she understood what I was asking, but I left feeling a little confused at her response. In the end, everything worked out because they called my name to come pick up the order :)! P.S.A. The Original Thai Tea 30% is the way to go! read more

Tried ChaTraMue and overall had a good experience! I ordered the original Thai tea with 70% sweetness, which was smooth and flavorful without being too sweet, which I liked. Also got the Thai green milk tea with honey pandan boba. The boba had a nice chewy texture and a light pandan flavor that paired well with the tea, though the green milk tea itself was a bit lighter in taste than I expected. The place ambiance was pretty busy, and the staff was hustling to keep up with all the orders. When I went to pick up my drinks, I had to wave a bit to get someone's attention, but the girl who ended up helping me was really nice and got my drinks quickly. read more
finally got to try the famous ChaTraMue, the popular thai tea spot and brand in Thailand!! I got the original thai tea with less ice (extra $1 unfortunately) and the rose milk tea, which they stress multiple times is a natural laxative lol--it says to make sure you're near a bathroom in 1-2 hrs. the OG thai tea was phenomenal, and tasted very authentic as expected. the rose milk tea was really good, but I noticed it did not produce a laxative effect for me lol. maybe my gastrointestinal system is already healthy. the cups the drinks came in were pretty nice. the inside of the place is cute and has nice decor and paintings and has ample seating. outside there's a parking lot (apparently gets busy on weekends but thursdays are not busy I noticed), and they have a public restroom to use. love this place!! read more

The ambiance here is lovely. There is a lot of seating, and there are even restrooms and wifi! Not sure about outlets, but it seems to be a great place to get some work done. The service is awesome, everyone was super nice, parking is limited, although not hard to find. I got the assam milk tea, and my dad got the jasmine milk tea, both at 30% sugar. the flavors aren't that strong to be honest, and there was a ton of ice. More ice than the drink. I saw that you had to pay extra if you wanted less ice and more tea. The tea that we did get is super watered down, I don't know if its because it was at 30%, or the ice they put in melted that fast. I would come back to try their specialty drinks, like their Latte series. Which was sold out when I got there. read more
Loved the Original Thai Tea from this place when I traveled to Thailand several years back so had to make a visit when this store opened up in Los Angeles. I was very surprised to see no line upon arrival. Been cutting out sugary drinks so partner and I tried both Original and Thai Green Milk Tea at 30% sweetness but it just did not hit the same. We asked the barista if she could just add a little extra sugar to our drink but she was kind enough to make us new drinks at 75% sweetness and tasted like a how a good Thai Iced Tea should. Really wanted to try the Rose Milk Tea but that contains Natural Laxatives, was not really to be stuck in LA traffic read more
Came here on Saturday for a Thai food street fair. I heard a lot of good things about this tea shop and decided to come by for some drinks I ordered the Thai green tea latte and a rose honey tea. I was warned that the rose honey tea is a natural laxative, and I verified that's true. Both drinks were very tasty. They were not overly sweet. However point was taken away was because we cannot request less ice for it. The cup was fill with a lot of ice, and we only have a few sips of the drink. Also, the drink was not cheap. Recommend that they can allow customer to requested for less/easy ice option. read more

My partner and I were cafe hopping in LA and decided to make a stop in Chinatown. Accessibility: It looks like there is free parking for the plaza. It's overall in a very remote area of downtown. Since we took the metro, we explored the area on foot and it's not very walkable. We had to jaywalk to get here from the main part of Chinatown. Service: The people are pretty nice. They did get our order wrong, but they made us a new one when we brought it to their attention. Didn't let us keep the initial wrong order though, so I hope it wasn't thrown away and wasted. Interior: three tables with four seats each, some other seating. Probably not a great place to study since I didn't see any outlets. They do have wifi though! Drink: we got the Thai tea coffee and I was pretty disappointed. It just tasted like cheap coffee with condensed milk. It was also 70% ice -- they claim that filling it with ice is the "authentic" Thai way but we saw that the liquid didn't even reach the midpoint of the cup before they added the ice. If this is authentic, then they should at least lower the price for the amount of drink we actually get. Overall, I'd like to come back and try something different because I think we just picked the wrong drink today. I'd probably opt for the original Thai tea or rose or something from the yuzu series. Even though I was disappointed this time, I still want to give it another chance! I will update my review when I do. read more
This is what I imagine Thai tea in Thailand to taste like. Their drinks are SO delicious! The perfect balance of creaminess, sweetness, and a strong tea taste. I've tried their green Thai tea, their Thai coffee, and their Thai tea. They all had such different and unique tastes and I'd order all of them again. The drinks are all fairly priced and the decor was modern and bright. The employees were all super kind and pleasant to chat with too! They share a hectic parking lot with the LAX-C supermarket so parking could be a bit tricky. Please open a location in the Bay Area!! I know ChaTraMue would thrive up here. read more

Refreshing drinks before or after Market LAX C next door. We ordered Plum Red Tea and Yazu Thai tea. Perfect amount of sweetness, great for summer. A very different and original tasting teas. Fast and efficient service. Only thing though is you cant make less or more ice on individual drinks, it's all premade. But not such a big deal, just sip drinks longer and leave some in the car an after market shopping next door. Great ambiance with enough seating and a clean restroom is always added bonus. Will come back again when in the area. read more
My FAVORITE Thai tea brand, I love to make my at home Thai tea with this brand. After seeing this spot online I knew I had to try this place. The place is very clean with a few seating inside. Loved the painting on the wall, it was so pretty! I ordered on the kiosk, the wait was 5-7 minutes, the workers are fast and friendly. I got the Thai milk tea with boba and the green Thai milk tea with pandan boba. The drinks were rich and creamy, I loved it! Would definitely come again if I'm down in the area. read more

ChaTraMue, a reowned Thai tea brand from Thailand, is now in Los Angeles, bringing with it 80 years of tradition and flavor. During my visit, I tried some of the most popular drinks: (Original Thai Tea) $5.50 | Cocoa Milk $5.50 | (Rose Milk Tea) $5.95 | Thai Tea Float $6.00. The Rose Milk Tea was my favorite. The Original Thai Tea had the perfect flavor with just the right amount of sweetness and not being overly sweet. When I see Rose Milk Tea on the menu, I have to have it!! As a fan of floral notes, the Rose Milk Tea was a must-try for me with a strong floral note. And again it was not overly sweet. However, I should note that rose petals, while offering potential health benefits, can have mild laxative effects. It's good to be aware of it for this shop in particular since they use rose petals whereas other boba shops may use rose syrup. This was mitigated by savoring the drink slowly. I tried some of my boyfriend's Cocoa Milk and we both really liked it. It tastes like a rich chocolate milk. The Thai tea float was an awesome special, the soft serve was delicious. Keep in mind that they have limited quantities of this drink per day. And before you ask why a full cup of ice? They explain that it's an essential component of Thai tea, balancing its sweetness. Despite this, their drinks are not overly sweet. Most boba shops offer sweet drinks even at 50% sweetness and since I don't like my drinks too sweet, I prefer for the ice to melt to dilute the sweetness. Whenever I order drinks anywhere, I usually take my time with my drink, and most of the time I'm not able to finish it in one sitting, I usually drink half and save the rest for the next day. However, since the drinks here are not too sweet at 100% sweetness, I wouldn't wait for too much of the ice to melt before finishing it otherwise it'll be way less sweet. If you're like me and take ages to finish a drink, you could even order your drink at 130% sweetness so that the drink will still be good even after the ice has melted. I haven't tried it in Thailand before but many other reviewers have and said that the flavor here holds true to the shops in Thailand. They are located in the same plaza as the grocery/wholesale store, LAX-C, in Chinatown. I didn't have any issues finding free parking in the lot even on a busy Saturday around 1 PM. While there was a small line, it moved quickly and I didn't have to wait too long for my drinks. As I was waiting for my drinks, more and more people showed up. They just opened in mid-February! Service was friendly and the inside was casual, yet modern. There's a good amount of seating inside. For the quality and quantity, I'd say that price is fair. Next time, I'll have to come back and get Thai food in the plaza after. read more
We order : Thai tea with boba ( 70% sweet ), green Thai tea ( 70% sweet ) and honey lemon plum red tea ( 70% sweet ). The service is decent, we come at a busy Sunday afternoon, and for three drinks the wait is around 10-15 minutes. Inside the place is cute and spacious, there are a few tables and chairs. Some red lanterns decoration on the ceiling , they also have a clean bathroom. Here's some review about the drinks: Thai tea with boba: This is their signature drink. I order 70% sweet, the Thai tea has a stronger taste than other Thai tea I've tried in other places. The boba is sweet and chewy, I would recommend this drink. Green Thai tea (70% sweet) : My friend says the green Thai tea is strong as well and has a floral taste. She likes it. Honey lemon plum red tea ( 70% sweet). My friend says the drink is sour and she doesn't like it. But I like it, it has a sweet and sour taste, and the red tea is strong. All drinks have small ice compared to other place that use big ice. If you don't like the drink be too sweet, would recommend 70% or 30% sweet, too bad they don't have half sweet option. When we got here, the AC is not on yet so it is kinda hot but after a while they turn on the AC so it is cool now. They have a parking lot in front of the place. Would recommend this place! read more
ChaTraMue is as original as it can get in terms of their offerings and authenticity. They're notably known for their authentic Thai Tea but there are so many options you can choose from including but not limited to soft serve flavored Thai tea and floats! The drinks are fully customizable and well priced. The ambiance is nicely lit and has ample indoor seating. Parking can be tough during prime time but manageable for Chinatown area. The employees were friendly and efficient. Looking forward to trying other items on their menu. I can't wait for them to expand to more areas in SoCal! read more
I went to ChaTraMue again as they have adjusted their boba recipe. The boba is warm when served and has the honey sweet flavor. Their drinks are perfect now and the service is amazing as always :) I brought a friend this time and had her try Cocoa 70% sweet. She agreed that this is the same taste she had when we were in Thailand together. And so Cocoa 70% will be our go to drink! read more
I've been eyeing this place for a while and finally got around to trying it. ChaTraMue is a famous beverage chain in Thailand, known for their delicious Thai teas. I obviously got their Thai tea with milk, less sweetness, and regular ice. I was surprised to see that they have Thai green milk tea and Thai black tea. The staff are super sweet and speedy, they even explained the difference between the two boxes of Thai leaves: one is made for milk teas and the other is brewed for a rich Thai black tea. The store is beautifully decorated with art murals and modern minimalist chairs and tables, perfect for groups of all sizes. They offer free WiFi and have one restroom available to the public. I'll definitely be back and try out their Thai teas with boba!! read more
I was sooo excited to try this place! I've heard the lines are atrocious, which somehow I got lucky on a Thursday afternoon because the line wasn't too bad, about 10 ppl ahead of me. I think the service was great, but it took a while for them to make drinks, not sure if it was because of the newer team members? It still took about 30 minutes for me to order and then another 5-10 minutes for them to make my three drinks. I ordered 1 reg Thai tea, and 2 green Thai teas, one with boba. The green Thai tea was better than the original Thai tea, there was more tea flavor overall. I don't think it's worth waiting over an hour for, but definitely worth a try. I would rate the drinks a 3.5 and the service a 4.5. The boba was perfectly cooked and paired nicely with the green tea thai. This place has a free parking lot which is a huge plus! Ambiance is giving modern Thailand vibes with cute LNY decor ATM. read more

Cha Tra Mue is always a must-stop whenever I'm near LAX-C Thai Market! This location is super convenient, and the drinks are just as delicious as I remember from Thailand. We tried the plum juice, classic milk tea, and Thai lime iced tea , all were refreshing and packed with flavor. The milk tea was rich and smooth, just the right sweetness, and the plum juice had that perfect balance of sweet and salty. The Thai lime iced tea was tangy, icy, and super refreshing on a hot day. Friendly staff, fast service, and authentic taste and the store is spacious , can't ask for more! Definitely coming back. read more
The famous Thai Tea shop from Thailand finally has a shop here in LA! Had to stop by after hearing that ChaTraMue is having their soft opening. Waited in line for 20 minutes, and a little less than 10 minutes for my drinks. It was not a bad wait at all considering it was a Sunday afternoon! Usually when it comes to soft openings, service is a bit slower and things take longer to be made (which is understandable) but the employees at ChaTraMue were super efficient and quick! Keep up the good work :) The service was very inviting and friendly, they even mentioned, even though I already saw it myself on the poster outside, that the Rose Milk Tea has a "natural laxative effect". My friend and I ordered two Rose Milk Teas, one Green Milk Tea, one Lemon Thai Tea, and a Green Milk Tea soft serve! There is a 15% off special for their soft opening (as of 2/25/24). All the drinks were very tasty and I appreciated that I was able to adjust the sugar for each of them. Though I don't like my drinks too sweet and usually get them with 30% sugar, the drinks were great with 70% sugar because the amount of ice in the cups will dilute the drink to the perfect sweetness. If you usually get your drinks at 30% sugar, I recommend getting 70% here! Also, gotta talk about the little crushed ice! My favorite part! Unfortunately it seems like they were running low on the crushed ice and we got some big ice cubes in our drinks, but overall did not affect the taste or our experience. :) Thai Lemon Tea: I really enjoyed the Thai Lemon Tea considering how strong the tea taste is. The taste of the thai tea blend with lemon instead of regular black tea makes it much more unique! Rose Milk Tea: The "natural laxative effect" of the Rose Milk Tea is NOT A JOKE! I waited until I got home to drink it just in case. The employee at the cashier even mentioned that "you will feel it within 2 hours". Again...not a joke. You've been warned!!! Green Milk Tea + Green Milk Tea Soft Serve: The taste of the Green Milk Tea and the soft serve version was both great! The pandan flavor really comes through and the soft serve is the right consistency of creamy. Sometimes soft serves are too icy and not the right texture (if you've ever encountered it, you know what I'm talking about). Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely come back for a tasty drink and to clear the bowels lol. read more
Sweet treat. Was so excited when I saw this coming soon because Cha Tra Mue was always there for me in the Bangkok heat. They're also my go-to Thai tea, green Thai tea, and rose tea leaves brand, that I get from the wholesaler in the same lot, iykyk! We happened to come on the last day of soft opening (Feb 25, 2024) so orders were 15% off. The rose milk tea looks really good, but there is signage informing everyone of it being a laxative. I think it's such a plus that they educate customers like that lol My friends were interested in getting Thai tea soft serve or a float but they were not available. Boba was also not available. Will have to return in the future to try! Drinks are adjustable in sweetness. Not adjustable in milk options. Luckily, I have my lactaid on me at all times. The worker was patient with answering my friend's questions and making recommendations. I got the green Thai tea, 30% sweet. For folks who are not familiar (even tho it's been popular lately), it's NOT matcha. It has a strong floral, jasmine-y aftertaste that is addictive. My friends and I got various sweetness level and agreed 30% was the best. It was still a bit too sweet for me. My friend got the plum tea and loved it so much. They said it tasted like salted plum. Overall a good experience. Excited to have this piece of Thailand so close to home. read more
This place is very spacious! I loved the interior design and all the seating. It's not located in the best area and parking can get crowded. Also, if you're not careful, you can pass the place easily. I was sad that their drinks were just okay! I don't think it was worth the price nor wait. Low-key, overhyped. I got the Thai tea and it was mediocre. The green milk tea was better, but not by far. Their boba was too chewy and they forgot it in my drink, so they just blobbed it on top. Having the boba on top made it hard to mix and drink, as their ice is chopped up and takes up majority of the space. However, I do like the strength of their teas! It can really keep you awake and not be overly sweet. Another highlight would be that they were super nice, but the service was quite slow. However, it might just be because they'renjust opening up, so I understand. I hope to give this place another chance, but maybe when they're more established as I don't see myself driving far for it again. read more

I've been here twice and the second time, they made their regular sized drinks smaller... I guess that's the economy for ya. The drinks are good quality and definitely taste very thick and creamy. I don't like sweet drinks so I usually order 50% but they had 75% and 25% option only. I felt like 25% is not sweet enough and 75% is too sweet. All in all, a solid Thai drink spot and I'd go with 75% sweet and maybe add more water to your drink lol. This place gets a lot of business thanks to the Thai market happening on the weekends. However, the market has ended so I don't know how business will be. Hopefully it will survive because I think this is the first one in the US! read more

I've been wanting to stop by here for some time now. Parking was easy to find. I ordered Thai Tea and Thai Green Tea since this is my first time stopping by. The drinks are not too sweet. Lots of ice, probably too much ice per cup in my opinion. You can order with a staff or through a kiosk. I wish the store is bigger so there is more space for people to come sit and hang out. With seven people in our group, it took up half of the space already for tables and chairs. I'd love to try other drinks next time. read more
Came here with my family and it was our first time trying out their Thai latte. It was delicious! Cute chops and service were professional and quick. The quality of their tea is floral and flavorful. I opted for the 70% less sugar and it worked out for me. I prefer my beverages low in sugar. It was just perfect. This is quality Thai tea. Located next door to a Thai Wholesale Market. Across is are Thai street food vendors. Parking may be difficult if they're busy. Definitely worth checking this place out if you're into Thai Ice Teas. read more

This place is a neat spot next to a cool supermarket. Parking is a little rough here since there's very limited parking spots and small venue. The drinks here are decent, I got 70% sweetness and the drink tasted like 100% sweetness. Average pricing for drinks as well. Service was fast and efficient. read more

My unplanned evening to visit the new DS Thai night market lead me to this wonderful hidden gem. The star of the show was their undeniably delicious Green Thai Tea. This downfall filled with ice does give you less tea so if you add an extra $1, they can reduce that ice load.
