Worst service ever tonight! Waiter took 10-15mins to even acknowledge us. Finally came by and took our orders. He took forever to bring everything. Our alcoholic beverages came just minutes before our meal. When one of his other tables left he quickly went to go check to see what they tipped him and left the plates there, the busser came and cleaned everything else and left the plates there. I know it's the waiter's job to Pre bus. Our food came out and I told him I needed a refill on water and he came and brought the water and also dropped the check off! What's the rush!! I don't care if he said "no rush" when he left the check it seems rushed!!! He saw that the check was ready and he came to pick it up but I told him no come take these plates and then you can pick up the card and check us out. Stopped in here after work one evening. A young gentleman arriving for his shift held the door for us. Our waitress, Nayelly was friendly and helpful. The food was hot and super tasty. We had the worst service ever there today. The waiter came and took our drink order and left for 10 minutes and when he can back he asked if we were ready for him to take our order. I told him we would like our drinks (teas and waters) we order 10 minutes ago. His reply was I was I am about to get that. At this point we should have left but we thought it was going to be ok. If I could, I'd give 4.5 stars for our good experience.We happened upon this restaurant and decided to try it for a late lunch- very glad we did. We both had fish on the light side menu, and both the salmon with mango salsa and lemon pepper white fish were very nice. I didn't like that the white rice had onions mixed in, but that's a minor thing. Next time I order the fish, I won't do the "light side" option and will order a different side. My husband, btw, liked the rice, so I'm glad we tried it. My favorite item though was the tortilla soup- yum! It had just the right kick but wasn't too spicy. If u want big portion and greasy food then this is your place. Entree was big size for reasonable price, about $9 and up for entree. We order onion ring is good, but definitely has enough grease last you for rest of the week. The chicken tender and waffle was quite tender. Haven't been to this restaurant in a while and now remember why. We were seated in the bar and the floor seemed very greasy and you had to walk gingerly to get to your table. The service was just okay and there were at least 4-5 servers standing around the bar, yet no one noticed we could use drink refills. The least enjoyable aspect was the food. The chicken quesadillas were filled with gelatinous cheese, dry and tough chicken and overly salty bacon. We've eaten at Cheddars many times but I think I've just gone for the final time. My husband and I took our toddler and my dad to eat on 02/26/16. We arrived about 6:30 and seated about 10-15 minutes later. We ordered drinks and onion rings as an appetizer. The appetizer took forever to come out and the waiter just said it was because they had to hand batter them. If you ask me, he got seated another large group and catered to them instead. Our appetizer arrived about 2 minutes before our food did. But here's where it got interesting. I ordered the grilled chicken Alfredo and when ordering I asked to not have the pasta (I can't eat pasta). My husband suggested I just get the pasta on the side instead because our toddler could eat some. So I asked for that. What I received was a bowl of pasta Alfredo, a side of chicken, and a side of the steamed veggies that they poured out of a bag right at the table. I told my waiter that I wanted the pasta on the side not everything else. Now I had no Alfredo for the chicken and veggies. He said he would bring me the Alfredo and I asked him for a bowl so I could make the meal myself how I had asked for it. It took 10 minutes to get this. By then the chicken was cold and the Alfredo he brought me was cold. I asked to speak to the manager and she offered to have them remake the dish. By now, everyone else has eaten and my toddler was done; so I asked for it to go. I litterelly got a chicken breast with Alfredo poured over it. No veggies, nothing mixed together. It was comical to say the least. My dad had to ask for more water because he never would fill the glasses. Instead of filling them he brought more. Our table was covered in cups and dishes by this point. The manager took my meal off but I noticed on the bill that they tried to charge me for a side of Alfredo sauce! The one I asked for to try and make the dish I asked for! Trying to get the bill paid took way too long as well. The waiter just kept going to his only other table! The problems were not just with us and our table either. We were seated next to the point of sale machine. When we were leaving, two waiters were arguing and a different manager was with them. The manager and guy waiter walked away and the girl told the guy waiter that she needed him there. I watched the two guys walk just barely into the kitchen on the opposite side and the guy waiter was pointing at her and was mad. I saw him mouth some words about the lady waiter that were highly inappropriate. So all in all, not the nice meal out that I was hoping for. We tried getting there before the huge weekend crowd. Our waiter only had 2 tables and a total of about 10 people. I heard the other table complaining as well. The manager tried to write it off as he was new and his timing was off. He just didn't know how to fix something. What should have happened was that he took it all away and brought it back out correctly. But he never offered that. Restaurant is poorly managed. We were first seated at a too small booth (4 people in our party) booth could comfortably fit 2 at most. That table was dirty, and we requested another table (bigger) which was also dirty. We had no silverware. One of the people dining with us had to get them. Drinks were not refilled. Upon arrival of our entrees, we had to ask for an extra plate. We asked THREE staff members for an extra plate, all of them said they'd get one, and none of them did. They all ignored us, and we ended up having to use a ranch covered salad plate from our appetizers. The sugar packets on the table were crumpled and looked like they'd been dropped in water and dried out. Pot pie was watery, and all of the staff acted aloof. At the end, the manager came by to give us free cookies, since it was our first time dining with them. Manager was sarcastic and had poor manners. It is also worth mentioning that the restaurant is very cold and breezy, since there are multiple unnecessary ceiling fans turned on. Bring a jacket. Burgers were nothing special, and fries were so-so. (Women's) bathroom was disgusting. No seat covers, poorly cleaned, pee on seats. Fish tank in waiting area looked dirty. Overcrowded too. There were a few things wrong with this from the moment I got there to the moment I got home with my to go order; first off when I called to ask if they said they had Curbside Pickup the host who answered the phone said they did but that orders were handled through the bar. So I placed my order 3 items a Mushroom Swiss Burger, Cheese Fries and Sheppard's Pie. When I arrived at the restaurant I could not find any Curbside Pickup spaces so I was lied to about that. So right away I was a little annoyed because I did not want the food to get cold by the time I drove it back home. When the bartender was getting all the food ready he has show me the presentation of everything and it wasn't very good, especially the Sheppard's Pie. The food was just slopped in the white styrofoam container like you were getting food from Luby's. Apparently the food was not stacked well because when I was driving home the top container which had the Sheppard's Pie fell over and the crispy onion fries fell on the floor, not a huge deal but still annoying since this was not part of my meal but someone else. Then when I picked that all up and was taking everything out at home the side container of Ranch dressing opened in the bag, which was for the Cheese Fries so that just killed the enjoyment of the meal for me. First off no Curbside Pickup, Second Food spills because bartender didnt use common sense when loading the boxes in the bag, and Three the Ranch dressing poured out in the bag so again the Bartender did not check the container to make sure it was secured properly. What lackluster service and just poor service. Cheddar's you will not be getting my business anymore. read more

Years ago I couldn't wait to go to cheddar's--Like so many great eateries in the 70's and 80's--everything has gone down hill ---First, the quality of the food is not a priority--"it is how many drinks we can serve and how many tables we can turn" in a shift. TGI Friday's is another example of a severe downfall in food quality!--TGI Friday's used to have test kitchens that did nothing but focus on the quality of the food.
