I've been to this Cheddars location before but it has been well over 10 years since then. So, I was pleasantly surprised on my visit back. The monte cristo sandwich was just as a remember - super tasty! & the Portions were such a good size and for the price you can't beat it!

Im not exactly sure why the ratings for this place is low, but we dined in on a Saturday around 1230 pm and had a great experience. Our server was attentive, food came out on time. Would recommend the spinach dip, better than others that Ive tried. Got the grilled white fish- nothing too special about that, bit too salty for my liking. I tried my brother's order of ribs and I liked the flavor and how soft it was. My son almost finished his cheeseburger which doesnt happen too often. Overall, the menu prices are pretty good actually, considering that most meals had two sides. And dont forget the fresh croissants they give out! Taking out a star because it was so easy for my son to purchase a game on the Zoosk tablet.

We were in the Embassy Suites San Antonio Landmark area, so we visited @cheddarskitchen for lunch yesterday. Love the complimentary Honey Croissants. Dad and I shared the Ribs and Shrimp with mashed potato and a side salad. Hubby had the Country Fried Steak with mashed potato and corn. The ribs were tender. Both dishes were decent and Sahara got us in and out of there in no time. If you need some lunch in the area, go check it out!

Tonight we decided to go to Cheddar's. This is my first time being here. I was really impressed with the decor it's very warming and has a nice feel. It has a fish tank in between the bar and dinning area. They gave us buttered croissants we ordered the queso chips and salsa. Chips were okay and the salsa was good the queso reminded me of nacho cheese. I ordered the half rack of ribs with chicken tenders. I also got the side Caesar salad. My wife got the grilled chicken Alfredo. The salad was good with a decent amount of dressing the croutons were very good. The ribs were all off the bone and a good size the portions weren't small at all which was nice and we had left overs. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. She made sure that we were well taken care of.

Excellent! Just excellent! I had to order from out of town for another person. The order went in at 9:15pm, to be ready at 9:38pm. I worried because when a restaurant is due to close 20 minutes after your meal pick up... Well, usually that means old end-of-the-day scraps. The young lady who brought it to the car was very nice. This meal was par excellence. Even the croissants were warm. Thank you for such good service and food.

I'd avoid the burger though because it didn't seem like it was made from fresh, quality ground beef.

Their burgers were not good at all. The patty seemed like it was a frozen patty and not made from fresh ground beef. However, my friends fried fish fillets were very moist and tasty.

Came here to eat and had a drink with my classmates after our final exam. Love the food here! Their shrimps are perfectly cooked as always. I especially came here for their watermelon margarita! And of course their butter croissant is amazing! Our server is very nice and friendly. I always have a nice experience in this location.

So I read the reviews of this Cheddar location before entering to eat. I was craving some soup and wanted to just have a quick meal. Upon entering, we went right around 11am yesterday. It wasn't busy at all which was nice. I told my waiter that I came in just to have some bowls of soup. She kind of seem irritated at me because we just wanted soups. Once my soup was finished, I wanted to eat something light. So I used the kiosk and ordered a kids Alfredo Pasta. My waiter comes back and explains to me that she got in trouble from me ordering a kids meal. She explains this to me as she gives me my pasta. She said the manager wrote her up because customers cannot buy pasta if they are under 12. After all this commotion, I didn't eat the pasta. It really rubbed me the wrong way because the manager should have come to talk to me about it and not the waiter. My waiter didn't do anything wrong, plus every one is short staff. This lady is here trying to work and make a living too. Plus the whole purpose of ordering off a kiosk is to make it easier for the waiters! So I was curious and I went to see if Anyone could order off the kids menu through the app. YOU CAN! So pretty much anyone can order of this menu at anytime without knowing if you are under 12. I am a Cheddars fan and I just wouldn't come back to this location in particular.

In my experience, Restaurant Week dishes were normally smaller portions, but not at Southerleigh! We ordered 3 Dinners and had enough for another two meals, and every bite was incredible. Chicken Cracklins: How these were not in a pool of grease and were perfectly crispy and seasoned was impressive but not a surprise, because Southerleigh knows how to fry chicken! Deviled Eggs: They're the devil because I could eat 12 of them and have no regrets. Creamy, nice bit of bacon on top, and absolutely delicious. Fried Pickles (GF): Y'all. I've never had fried pickles like these before. Perfectly crispy and not even a little greasy. Ranch was delicious, special sauce excellent. I could eat those fried pickles every day - my doctor would love it. Half Chicken (GF): Outstanding. I'm forever amazed but how good this GF chicken is. Unreal. 10/10. Chicken Wings: Fried Catfish: If you have a friend whose faces squishes up in disgust when you suggest fried catfish, take them here and get them this fish. Remoulade was perfect. But the crust on that fry and how light it was + how non-greasy or heavy that fried catfish was...there are no words. I could have eaten that catfish all day. What a treat! Top it off with great, friendly service amidst being sat with multiple tables at once, a wonderfully clean restaurant, and just another top notch experience, and I have decided that I'll need to bar myself from Southerleigh for a minute because I can only buy so many new pairs of bigger pants. Go and enjoy this comfort food, GF or not!

That said, the food didn't quite meet expectations. Having spent considerable time in Louisiana, I've had solid Cajun and Creole cooking, so I'm coming in with a fair point of reference. The 1/4 chicken was mostly breading with not much substance underneath. The okra came out cold, and the gumbo was uneven-part of it hot, part of it not which made it feel more reheated than freshly prepared. Service was courteous, but a bit inconsistent in terms of attentiveness. I'm sharing this in the spirit of wanting the restaurant to improve, because it has a lot going for it. With more consistency in the kitchen and a bit more focus on execution, it could be a much stronger experience.

I actually used Perplexity and asked for a list of venues that would meet our needs. Then, I read more about them on their websites. I liked what I saw at Kerbey Lane. They had some unusual offerings and a large selection of gluten free choices. The restaurant sits right on 1604. There is plenty of parking in front of it. The dining room was clean and comfortable. At 1:30, when our group went, the lunch rush was pretty much over, and we were led to a large table in the middle. Our server was a cheerful young lady who knew the menu well and was very helpful. Her description of their nitro cold press coffee given to one of my friends enticed me to have one as well. It was very delicious. The coffee was strong and robust with a hint of sweetness from the vanilla cream on the top. They actually have this coffee on tap like beer. Several items on the menu caught my eye. I wasn't sure which one I was going to have until the very moment I ordered. My choice was their Kimchi Beef. It was a large piece of bulgogi flavored steak covered with kimchi, slivers of raw carrot, and other vegetables with a light sauce of some kind. It made me think of a Thai meat salad, although the meat wasn't chopped. It was fresh and delicious. I was pretty busy conversating with my friends, so I don't really know what all they had. I do know that one of them had the special green tomato BLT. She really liked it, but would have liked the bacon to be more crisp. It looked exactly the way I like it- especially on sandwiches. Another friend had a giant salad of some kind on field greens. She raved about it the whole time she was eating. I am pretty sure that everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. With the good food, awesome server, and very pleasant ambiance, I am sure that many of us will be coming back. One of our group even commanded me to put Kerbey Lane on the rotation for next year.

Upon entering, we were worried that we'd meet the same fate as before as all the tables were filled and there was about 20-25 people in front of us. Fortunately we noticed a couple empty chairs at the bar and the bartender mentioned they were open. Counting our blessings we took em and started looking at the menus. As I'm browsing the menu, the girlfriend and I are intrigued by our surroundings as we saw plenty of tvs showing sports and a lot of music memorabilia on the walls. Made me think this is the kind of bar scene I would like to host at home if I had the space and $$$. But that's why we dine out at places like this. Back to the menu, I noticed a ton of beer taps so after browsing the menu, I decided on the hazy beer hug by Goose Island while the girlfriend ordered a spicy watermelon margarita. As an east coaster, I enjoy anything by Goose Island as they serve several types of beer where I used to live back in Northern VA. So I was happy sipping on it. The girlfriend enjoyed the margarita as it had the right amount of spice. She also mentioned she could hardly taste the booze in it; while this might be a complaint with some patrons, she prefers her cocktail this way. As for food, I decided on the Ultimate Burger with a side of broccoli and she ordered the Crispy Chicken sandwich with fries. The burger is fine; pretty tasty even. But the broccoli, definitely raw with only a brush of butter. It's obvious they did not microwave it in the bag long enough. We ordered a second side of broccoli; and same thing; raw with a slight butter glaze. They also gave me some fries with my burger; I'm not complaining about free fries but kind of odd they were thrown on the plate. Pretty rookie move there. Meanwhile, the crispy chicken sandwich was basic; good texture but not much flavor; could use more spices and flavors in the batter. Both dishes are pretty big so we were stuffed afterwards. I'd be open to returning to try other items or maybe if I'm in the mood for that burger. But definitely getting a different side with it.
