Pleasantly surprised by what I feared would be more chain than charming. The gratis croissants with honey butter sauce are really tasty, and I enjoyed my bourbon salmon on a bed of rice quite a bit. It is nice that they offer the choice between a 5 ounce and 8 ounce portion. It came with a choice of two sides, and I was very pleased with my super sweet corn and my broccoli-cheese casserole. This restaurant also does a lot for the community, donating leftover food to shelters. I imagine many restaurants do, but not enough let its customers know. First off, I've almost always had a pretty decent experience at every Cheddar's I've been to but last night was an exception. My boyfriend and I hardly ever dine out but decided we wanted to go to a close restaurant bc we didn't feel like cooking. Unfortunately our experience was not the best. The good news is that we were seated quickly as the restaurant wasn't super busy, and our server came quickly but that was the best part of our visit. It took about 25 minutes for me to get a mixed drink from the bar. The server kept coughing and even coughed into her hands at one point. My food was not good and one of the items I ordered was forgotten so I had to ask for it. When it came it didn't even taste fresh. I didn't enjoy anything I ordered and tbh it takes a lot for me to say that. Definitely not the place to go for holidays, celebrations, etc. Our server wasn't bad, but everything was very unprofessional. We waited over an hour for our food at a not busy hour. We were seated immediately and taken care of very quickly. When our food was SUPPOSED to come out, a runner who did not know what they were doing took our food to the wrong table, sat it down, realized it was wrong and tried serving it to us. They had already touched the plates and even kept one of the dishes. We had to call a manager and tell them to replace the food, to which we waited over 45 minutes to be served cold food. Visited on a Saturday afternoon before the dinner rush and Cheddar's always hits the spot. We entered and were quickly seated to our tables. I ordered the Island Tiki for a drink (a little strong). I ordered the Key West Chicken and Shrimp which was cooked perfectly, paired with steamed broccoli and carrots and buttered corn as a side made for a great meal. The portions are always good and the prices fair. I ordered the 18 oz ribeye (I was starving) which was pretty good for a "non steakhouse restaurant." It was perfect as it filled me up! I had the veggie plate with the salad( Caesar dressing), warm croissant, broccoli, black beans, mashed potato, and mac and cheese: black beans were a little congealed, same on broc from above, mac and cheese was dry and a little over cooked, and the potatoes were okay. The croissant is the star of the show- of course melted butter over the top - with a hint of honey. family enjoyed what they had. bummed that the veggie plate has the option of soup but neither soup is vegetarian- their potato soup is cooked with bacon in it. We ordered cheese fries, which normally come with fries, cheese, and bacon yet there was pieces of pasta and carrots in ours. They also burnt half of them to the point that you can't even grab them off the plate because they are burnt together and we were shocked that they brought them out to us like this and expected us to still eat them. When we pointed out that they were very burnt to the point that they weren't edible the man who brought them out was very confused when we asked for a new order. This is unacceptable! I've had to ask several times for utensils to eat my Cesar salad,since my server was "pre-occupied"...when they brought out the queso and chips...it was 10-15 chips on the plate....when asked for more the Server seemed surprised by us asking for more. The steak was soggy with WAY too much breading and fries were old and cold, the green beans were real sweet, who puts sugar in green beans? My family and I went to the Cheddar's on I10 last night March 11, 2023. We were there from 7pm to 9pm    I would like to say, that we go here atleast twice a month. We had to start coming in because of so many incorrect take-out orders. When it's good, it's great; but when it's not, it's pretty bad. I would also like to mention that the servers that we've had are always very friendly.    Last night, all 6 of us arrived at 7:00 and were told there would be a 10 minute wait. 30 minutes goes by and we walk back in and were seated. We sit down and were brought rolls with no plates. We had to request some from another server. When the silverware came, my husband's was covered in stuck on food. It took 15 minutes for our drink orders to be taken and quite some time for them to come out. My mom ordered a Diet Coke and after 20 minutes, she was brought a RootBeer. Another 10 minutes goes by and its finally brought out.    Now for the orders. My husband ordered Creamy Tilapia on a bed of rice, with steamed broccoli, and fries. He received watered logged fish on about a spoonful of rice, broccoli and cheddar casserole, and red beans and rice. The fish tasted like water and you had to scoop it. When he was finally brought his steamed broccoli, it was way over boiled and was mush. He gave up and asked them to just take the plate. This plate was comped.    I ordered a salad with crispy chicken. You couldn't tell the difference between the breading and the chicken, it was so over cooked. My tomatoes were so soft, I would hate to know how long they sat there for. My tomatoes at home have to get lost in my fridge for 2 weeks to reach that level. The manager brought out more chicken, it was so hot, I burned myself and couldn't feel my fingerprints. This meal was not comped. I took it home, and decided to atleast eat the lettuce for breakfast. This morning, I found a blond hair in it. My hair is dyed red and blue, think like Superman colors, it wasn't mine.    My son ordered the kids chicken strips. His were equally as dry. His plate was overlooked, so after my replacement chicken cooled off, I gave it to him. At the point he was tired and just not hungry anymore.    My mom ordered a medium well steak, corn, and a baked potato with a side of butter for her potato. Her steak was rare, blood was on the plate. (I know it was rare because thats how I order mine.) Her corn didn't come in a bowl like it usually does, so it just soaked in the blood. She went to eat her potato that was missing the butter and was completely dry. By the time the butter came, her potato was cold, and the butter wouldn't melt. She sent her steak back, and they microwaved it. Was rubbery and charred tasting. Absolutely disgusting. Her plate was comped.    My grandmother's and dad's plates were the only ones that were okay. The app was good. The drinks were great, although they were out of alot of their alcohol so it took a couple tries.    This isn't the first time we've gone in, spent $150 and left hungry, but it will be the last.   Thank you for taking the time to read this. read more
