Considering it wasn't busy at the time we went, it was overly nosey The service is just not there, the food cold. First time, and last, took over twenty minutes to get even a drink Once we got drinks, took another fifteen minutes to see our waitress again. The food came cold, she never retuned to ask if we needed anything. The salmon was so thick with a sweet sauce my daughter couldn't eat it, potatoes cold no gravy. Husband and my steak cold, shrimp cold and tough. our baked potatoes had a few pieces of cheese, no butter, little sour cream, tasted like water. Spent over two hours there, most of it wondering why everyone else had service but us. If I have to wait on a meal I am fine with it, as long as a waiter or waitress stops by once in a while, asks if you need a refill on drinks, anything. Nothing.... I would have said something if anyone bothered to come over, no one did,the waitress dropped the check and never came back, we paid on the way out. I have never been treated so badly worse experience ever! Very disappointing to wait so long for food that was cold, over cooked, to sweet. My boyfriend and I go here quite a bit and we love it. The prices are nice, the atmosphere is lovely (reminds me of Epcot), and service is always friendly and polite! The only thing I can complain about is the food is either amazing or not that great. The sandwiches aren't tasty in my opinion and they even taste dry. But! I really enjoy the spare ribs that fall off the bones, the fried white fish, the buttery croissants, and the redfish with crab sauce. I always like coming here and to be honest, you just need to experiment and try out different areas of the food before finding what tastes great. Went for lunch. Just 5 of us. We ordered the salmon. Two ordered the bourbon and 2 the blackened. (The other order was the meatloaf which gets a great review.) Surprise, surprise...we all got the exact same thing! The only difference was a bourbon sauce in the side for the ones that ordered it. And the "blackened" is lightly dusted with a season salt and baked. So, don't expect a truly blacked piece of fish. And if your honey croissant isn't hot, ask for a fresh one. I came out of my way again today, to come to eat at Cheddars, I have had excellent service, incredible meals, and it's a very lovely place to go out of your way for. Great prices! Delicious food! On Point service! My boyfriend and I went in not know what to expect with all the negative reviews we saw but we decided to give it a go anyway, you never know til you try. We got there and were told we had a 10-15 min wait. Not bad at all, it was just after 5. Shortly after we were seated and almost immediately our waitress Lindsay came by to introduce herself and ask for our drinks while offering the specialty drinks menu and informing us of the specials and her favorite of the drinks. We ordered water but afterwards when she came back with them, about a min later (not long at all) we decided to get some alcoholic drinks bc the prices were just too good to beat. Once we got our drinks, again, it didn't take very long, we ordered our food. The food arrived, hot and delicious right after the manager stopped by our table to check in on us and how we were doing. Throughout the course of the meal we were asked at least 3 times if we were happy with the food and if we needed refills. The service was amazing and very friendly, and the food was delicious. My wife and I eat at the Cheddar's in Clearwater pretty much every year and absolutely love the place. We recently learned of this location in Sanford and decided to give it a try. As we take our seats, we notice the menus are very filthy, not a great start. We ordered the loaded nachos as an appetizer, and they were nearly as good as the Clearwater location and they didn't last long as we were starving. I ordered the chicken strips with red beans and rice and mac n cheese. The chicken strips here are made-to-order and hand breaded on site (not frozen from a bag) and were delicious as always. However, there were noticeably less strips on my plate than the Clearwater location. Also, as I began eating my red beans and rice, much to my surprise, 2 huge pieces of broccoli! The waitress, to her credit, apologized and brought me a new side. Finally, my side of Mac N Cheese was the most flavorless I've ever tasted, seriously. So, basically, if the Cheddar's near you has good reviews then I highly recommend it. We will most likely return to the Clearwater location this summer, but we will NEVER return to the Sanford location. read more

We love this place! The portions are really big, and so far I've really liked everything I've tried!!! I've had the shepherds pie, fish tacos, smokehouse burger, and the beef stew. I've ordered a few if them over & over. The fish tacos were awesome! First of all, they give you 2 tacos that aren't those little, dinky kind. I ordered the fish fried, and I was blown away at how large they were. They also put some kind of slaw on the tacos. Yum....I'm making myself hungry just thinking about it. Great kid portions as well. The ONLY downside so far is the wait time. It averages from 20-45 mins depending on the day, and it always seems busy. *edited after a few years - update: it kinda went downhill after the opening date. This was my first visit to Cheddar's and it most likely will be my last. The only location near us is too far away to consider for the quality of the food. Don't misunderstand me. I liked the food. It just wasn't "WOW THIS IS AWESOME" food. It was literally just "hmm ok.. yeah this is a step up from McDonald's. We ordered a blackened fish, a spinach salad and chicken fingers. It was all as expected. The fish and the veggies were good but the flavor just wasn't exciting. The spinach salad wasn't any better than a pre-made version from Publix. The chicken fingers were exactly the same with fries. We ended up ordering a small chocolate, ice cream desert which was OK. The prices were normal to lower end. Despite many of the negative reviews we have seen on Yelp, we have visited the Sanford location several times over the past three months and always had excellent food at a fair price along with service that has been acceptable considering the individual circumstances. On our last visit, we came at the worst possible time (Friday evening) and had to wait for almost an hour. Once seated, we were served courteously and correctly. Some of this congestion will ease when the new locations open later this year in other parts of the Orlando metro area. Since we live in the OIA area, that will cut down on 50 miles of driving for my Monte Cristo or chicken fried chicken dinner. read more

Although it was quite crowded during our first visit about two years ago, our server was great, very attentive, and our meals were all served promptly and damn-fine. I left thinking "No wonder the parking lot is always so crowded". There was a short 10 minute wait on the Wednesday evening we came. We sat in a comfy booth in the bar area. The coffee is good! I was pleasantly surprised as I stole a sip from my husband's cup. I then ordered my own cup, but it never came. We had fried cheese... The Wisconsin Cheese Bites. They were delicious. Our dinner came quickly, just as we were finishing the appetizer. My cajun pasta was great and my husband's spasagna was an interesting twist. It was like lasagna buy made with spaghetti... It came out hot and delicious. We both ate so much food and there were still leftovers. I can't wait to come back so I can try their Monte Cristo. They have a lunch special where you can have half of a sandwich and a soup or salad. Tonight my mom, son and I went to dinner to catch up with a friend. My son, at a year and a half old, is excited to be out and is a fist-bump machine. Our server Samantha was awesome with us tonight. My son didn't act out or do anything crazy but if you're a parent then you always have that worry that anything could pop off. But Samantha interacted with my son. Fist bumps. Laughs and smiles.
