Cheddars wasn't very busy at 6pm Went with 2 other couples service was terrible. Had to ask for refills on ice teas they never came back around. Once I got my salmon they had for got the Cole slaw. However after asking twice for slaw the waiter informed me they had to make more so it would be fresh. Sale cans when I was 3/4 finished with meal. We never received rolls-nor was asked if we would like rolls? I thought this was one of there go to items???? So much for Signaturefoods? My Husband, Son & I had lunch here on 9-6-2014. The lunch was just ok, nothing great. My Salmon was dry and I ordered a baked potato loaded which came with only butter & a touch of cheese, no sour cream, no bacon bits,. A few Minths back while in Ft. Myers we ate lunch at Chedders, our first time and it was fabulous!!! I agree with other folks here that there HAS to be a Management problem. Also, on our receipt it has a web address to enter a drawing after answering the survey. The problem? There is no such address!!! Tried many times as it keeps saying "no results". Looked forward to possibly winning a year of dining. There goes that! Seriously, Chedders has some problems that need to be addressed. I was going to take my Colleagues next week but something seems a little "fishy" with all this. If you care at all about your Business you need to fix your Management Problem. Good: Awesome neighborhood restaurant with great food, generous portions, and low prices. Nice ambient setting inside and there's a large fish aquarium. They also have a bar. Bad: The seating times and wait time after ordering your food to receiving it can be extremely long at times especially Friday nights, weekends, and holidays. But I'm never in a rush when I come here as the food is always worth the wait. Plus you can always call ahead and ask how long the wait time to be seated is. Overall: I'm giving it 5 stars for the food, prices, friendly staff, and overall indoor setting. read more

GREAT we have been the house eating and ordered take out for weeks now may 15 2020 under c19 virus world. It was great to go out and get a real meal .The place was very clean and i seen they took extra steps to help keep 6 feet .We ate our meals and had a good time .We were ready to go and seen a worker cleaning the table across from us and he did a great job sprayed the tables and the booth and gave it a hard scrubbing it was good to see America at its best again . read more

We've eaten at this restaurant and also the one in south Orlando. I always order the ribs, so delicious and also the broccoli cheese casserole. The croissants are to die for! Whatever you do, don't skip the fresh baked chocolate chip/w icecream. My husband and I get out of here spending less than $50, with drinks, appetizer, croissants, a main and the cookie dessert. I had looked forward to the opening of Cheddar's but I'm a bit disappointed. I did not dine in but instead ordered to go. My meal consisted of Fried Fish, loaded baked potato (no sour cream), and the broccoli cheese casserole. Positives: Lots of tasty fish--reasonable price Negatives: Fish could have used another minute in the fryer--not as crispy as I would have liked. The loaded baked potato was not. I asked for no sour cream and I received a plain potato with nothing on it--not even any butter on the side. The broccoli casserole had negligible amounts of broccoli. I gave the them the benefit of the doubt between 1 star and 2 stars only because they have only been open a few days. I will give them a second chance in about a week and try dining in. read more

I am very torn about this review. I live very close to this restaurant. The food has been great along with the service after we are seated. Here is where I have a problem and why I am giving them a 1 star. I don't believe they are wheelchair friendly. I always go with my friend who is in a wheelchair and we have to wait at least 45 minutes more than most people. They only have very few tables which we have to have because she can't get close enough if we are seated in a booth. I have tried calling to see if we can go on a wait list due to our situation and they say no because they don't take reservations. We had to wait an hour tonight and watch dozens of people get seated right away. I have gone there plenty of other times when we waited and the people who came in after us ate and passed us still waiting on the way out. I am just sad that they refuse to make any accommodations. read more

The worst Cheddar's experience I've had. I normally like Cheddar's, their food is usually pretty good for being a chain. The broccoli cheese soup was incredibly runny. We also ordered the trio (salsa, queso, and spinach dip). The spinach dip seemed like it had been sitting out awhile, even below the top layer. The Mac and cheese side size was about half of what I've had before. Hopefully it was just an off night but this was a poor experience. read more

I love going to places that have nothing but bad reviews and proving them wrong. This is not one of those places where I can do that. The service is just as bad as everyone says it is. I came with my wife around 6:15. That's around the dinner rush, so I expected a bit of a wait. Well, we waited for almost an hour and 15 minutes. Once seated, we had no signs of a waitress for another 15 minutes or so. Finally a younger girl came and took our drink orders, then right before we gave up on ever quenching our thirsts, she finally returned with them. We both ordered simple enough stuff. Two cheese burgers, nothing special. You can only get burgers cooked medium-well. Not a problem for me, because that's my standard order, but my wife is pregnant and asked if they could cook it more because she was afraid to have any pink in the meat with the pregnancy. The waitress assured us they could, and after probably 45 minutes, our burgers came out. Food was right, but my burger was definitely more than medium-well. It was almost well done. I love a little pink, so I was a little disappointed. My wife's on the other hand was way undercooked. Like, medium- rare, at most. We ended up just switching burgers and that was that. Manager visited our table and seemed nice but scared we were gonna bite him or something. I mean, I do pack a mean bite, but how'd he know that? So summary: 1) All in all, the whole process from walking in to walking out took almost 2 and a half hours. That's a long time for dinner at a restaurant. 2) Food order was correct, but not cooked properly. 3) Food temp was fine, but taste was nothing to rave about. 4) Waitstaff was friendly, but as could be derived from #1, they were very slow. Stay away! I went against the rules and judged this place by its cover. I wish I had listened to the reviews though. The Cheddars building is admittedly pretty on the inside. Even the inside is well decorated with a beautiful fish tank and a nice art structure in the middle. However, the food and service completely fails. This was my first and mostly likely only visit. I ordered the cheesesteak and the broccoli casserole as a side. The casserole wasn't horrible just not great. The broccoli was too mushy for me and the cheese sauce was a bit salty. However, the broccoli disappointment had nothing on the cheesesteak. The meat was overcooked. I'm pretty forgiving on that a majority of the time. The thing that made it inedible was the overwhelming salt. I almost never send food back because I'm pretty laid back. I also rarely review based on one visit. But I sent this back and requested they just add no salt whatsoever. After a long wait, I got my sandwich and again it tasted just as salty and just as overcooked. It was disgusting. I stress that I love salt so it definitely wasn't an issue of me being a salt wimp. I usually have to curb how much salt I put in food when cooking for others because of how much I like it. For something to be too salty for me means something. I'm not sure the waitress even cared that I did not enjoy the food and had to send it back. TL;DR Avoid this place! Don't let the pretty look make you think this place has good food. Their food, from my experience, tends to just be too salty and too overcooked. read more

Awful experience. Waited an hour when we were told it was a half hour wait. The restaurant is new and super busy, but understaffed and not enough food! They were out of several specialty drinks and several of their main dishes. What would've been a 50$ dinner ended up being 11$. Since they were out of so many dishes we ended up ordering a bowl of soup and a plain house salad. It still took an hour to get our food. Our server was sweet and apologetic. No manager stopped by to apologize or check on our experience. When we were leaving we noticed 4-5 of the servers were hanging out at tables with their friends who had apparently come in to visit. Don't mistake the long wait for a table as a sign this is a great restaurant. It is not. The wait is long because the service is awful. The friendly staff doesn't have a clue about the operations of a restaurant this size. Our party of 6 arrived at 9:00pm and left at midnight. We waited for a table. We waited for our drinks. We waited for our server to take our order. The problem has to be more than the inexperienced wait staff. A disorganized kitchen and poor management must contribute to the overall service failure. Although we were pleased with the portion sizes and presentation of the food, the taste and quality can only be described as average. The onion rings appetizer had a nice buttermilk batter that was not too greasy. While the Shepard's Pie was not even close to authentic, it was still a flavorful something. The BBQ Chicken Salad has surprisingly little chicken and the dressing lacked flavor. There is nothing about the food at this restaurant that separates it from it competitors - Applebee's, Ruby Tuesday, etc.. The saving grace for this place is the price. Entrees are quite reasonable. Alcoholic beverages for less than $4 is a welcome surprise. read more

Long review but PLEASE read for your safety if nothing else!! The first time we went to cheddars the restaurant was Beautiful! We loved the decor.. all was great until I got my baja chicken, it was nicely charred on the outside, but the inside was Completely raw, like cold raw chicken, it had to have been almost completely frozen when thrown on the grill to achieve that... the manager di'or apologized a lot and was very nice. We got desserts and my 3yr olds dessert had a 2 inch long piece of glass in it... thank GOD my husband took that bite and noticed the glass in his mouth which did cut his cheek resulting in him bleeding. At that point our meal was free and we left. Cheddars called us back saying they where so sorry and please come back and try again...so we did and we requested alex the server we had before because he was very nice...instead we were told he was busy, we told them we didnt.mind waiting and they insisted we give the other server a try... big mistake. barbie was her name and she was the devil. My chicken was ONCE AGAIN undercooked... seriously? Are you trying to kill people cheddars? I was telling bardie my food was undercooked and I was looking down at my plate when I hear her say what the f*ck ever and storm away.... she went into the kitchen and i.followed her into the kitchen and went off... yes I went into their dirty kitchen. The managers mouth dropped.... and that was my last time at this awful place. After several aborted attempts to go to Cheddars due to large crowds and long waits, we finally dined there this evening. The food was mediocre at best; the service was terrible. The waiter didn't know the menu. I asked if I could have a sample of the soup but he had never heard of that. He said to order it and just not keep it if I didn't like it. My husband was served an entree he didn't order. My friends got their salads but my soup came with the entrees and was cold to boot. The restaurant is noisy to the point where you cannot carry on a conversation with table mates. Between below average quality of food and lack of service, we will not be going back. read more

Upon seating our server, Brian C, was there within a minute or two to welcome us, get drink orders and answer any questions. We placed our orders. Salads were delivered shortly after drinks, steaks arrived just in time. Brian kept drinks full, checked several times on us. This was a great dinning experience! We eat out several times a week. The Sanford Cheddar's has gone downhill since opening. The last two times eating at this location, there under the table was food, napkins and other stuff left by previous diners. Tonight was the last straw! We had a roach join us at the table during our meal and one running across the booth seat. We brought it to the manager's attention and his comment was they have problems with roaches here in Florida and will call the exterminator tomorrow. I have been in Florida for most of my life, but rarely have I had roaches visit me at my table. If roaches are running around in the dining room can you imagine the kitchen? First visit, wanted to see why it was so busy. Decided it was a vast menu of modestly priced comfort food. Our server, tried very hard but new and ill-trained. At the end of our meal every single dish and glass from the whole meal was still on the table. She was so friendly though that we had no issue as she tried very hard and was pleasant. Food was inexpensive for the portion size. Wife had ribs, they were fatty and laced with pepper (pepper??). Sides were luke warm and average. I had tenders, they were good but we're talking just plain ol' tenders. Red beans and rice was spicy glop. Rings were hot and fresh but kind of flavorless. So 2.5 stars for the server who tried, 2-3 for the food. I would give this place -100 stars for the worst part and the one that will keep us from ever returning: A busboy (who clowned around talking to himself while not doing any work...see above, dishes piled all over our table) took his rag that was in his bus-tub and handed it to the waitress who wiped the table next to ours and then used it to clean the inside of the ketchup cap, including all around the opening. GROSS. We asked to speak to a manager on the way out and some bored/hassled goof listened half-heartedly to our recommendation that people be trained not to use bus-rags to wipe food containers. Rather than apologize, ask who it was, ask which table now had the contaminated, gross ketchup..he kind of shrugged and said "thanks for letting me know", turned around and walked away. TRASH. I don't know why we keep giving this place a chance. Maybe because the food is good when they actually get it right, but the service is always the worst. We came here for my dad's birthday because he enjoys the chicken and shrimp dish. He ordered a margarita which took (I'm not even exaggerating) over 40 minutes to arrive. We had not gotten our food yet either. We reminded our waiter 2 times for the drink and asked the manager for our drink and finally got it. We got our food over an hour, you could tell it was sitting under the warmer because the plate was hot but the food was barely warm and the sauces were crusted on the top. 2 of the 5 dishes were incorrect (one salmon cooked grilled bourbon instead of blackened and one chicken dish with the wrong sides) and 1 of the dishes never came out. We had to track down the server, who only said he is sorry he will get the manager, manager said he will fix it and then brought out the wrong dish again. At this point no one would come check on us. We sat patiently waiting for someone to come by. The manager finally comes over and asks if everything is okay because my mom hasn't touched her plate and I said no it was wrong order. He apologized and comped the entire meal. WE WOULD HAVE RATHER PAID AND HAD A GOOD MEAL FOR MY DADS BIRTHDAY INSTEAD OF FREE CRAP MEAL. Then after that no one came to the table, my moms meal never got fixed. We wanted to order a dessert for my dads birthday and no one would come to the table. I think our server was too embarrassed. I dont know. We tipped the server anyways and he didnt want to take it. I insisted and let him know that just because a meal is comped doesnt mean that they arent still a guest. He felt really bad, but we ended up stopping at publix for a cake and did the rest of the evening at home. This is not my first bad experience at this place, but its definitely the last. read more

The first time I was at Cheddar's we waited over 2 1/2 hours. They FORGOT about us. Seriously everyone else we had arrived with at the time had been seated and were leaving. I finally went over to the hostesses and was told OH we forgot about you they were three pages into new customers coming in. They totally forgot about us and NEVER even offered an apology. Ok new place, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. So tonight Aug 4th, we decide to go and try Cheddars again. Take my daughter, son in law, grandson (7) my husband and I. Wait was not too long to be seat. Things were looking up. Then the service started. *Mind you this place was busy but not SUPER BUSY*. We order drinks and waters. The drinks came, the waters never arrived. My husband ordered a cup of soup. They come out with a bowl. My son in law and I both had salads. Well our meal comes and still NO salads. My grandson got a steak ordered medium rare, son in law ordered a steak also medium rare, they came out WELL DONE. So we politely send them back. FORTY FIVE minutes later my daughter, husband and I have finished our food and the steaks STILL have not arrived. We try to get a manager. Yea right. Out comes some gal, who looks like she woke up out of bed and rolled into work (I mean their servers have white shirts and ties on, she looks like she is rumpled from the night before) has NO customer service and tells us OH WELL then sends out the supposed General Manager Cynthia Payne (who is dressed as a chef) and we are told OH WELL again and no we are made to feel horrible. By this time we are HEATED my poor grandson is starving and no one cares! So I am like I think this meal should be comped. OH NO THEY CANNOT DO THAT. I look at her like are you kidding me (still NO steaks) told her it was BULLsh*t and was told to leave. Cannot comp a meal or say we are sorry or we will get that right out, but we still ended up not paying. I am 54 years old have lived all over the US and have traveled abroad. I have eaten at places from McDonald's to 5 star restaurants! NEVER have I been treated like this, or waited like this on an order they SCREWED UP. Not even going to give them the three times you are OUT! Do not bother and do not wait! The food, service and drinks are NOT worth it. Their staff is not only inexperienced their managers, have NO clue. I doubt Cheddar's of Sanford is here for the long haul unless they hire restaurant people who are competent! read more
