As I walked in I was greeted right away, very friendly service. Although the bar is right there by the hostess desk, it was crowded and loud. You could barely hear one another. From dining there once before, it is a very nice upscale restaurant. Let's just say my husband and I felt very underdressed. Our server wasn't friendly nor competent, no water refills, cold soup, no following up with us at any point. We ordered the Tom Yum soup, crab rangoon, drunken noodles, and panang curry with rice- enough variety to get something right, at least we hoped as such. One of the best pad Thais in Bakersfield. It's well seasoned. You can really taste the tamarind sauce. The noodles are a little too thick for my taste so I usually order them with the glass noodles. My husband ordered the pho with seafood. It was pretty good too. For the chicken satay the peanut sauce tasted like chocnut (a Filipino candy of peanuts and chocolate and whatever idek) and it totally threw me off the point I could not eat it . The chicken for the chicken satay wasn't awful it just didn't taste like anything which is why I assume it was paired with sauces. For dessert we ordered crème brûlée cheesecake and molten lava chocolate cake. The crème brûlée cheesecake was okay, the crust was actually soggy I didn't feel like finishing it. The molten lava cake was overpowering in sweetness for me and was slightly dry once again which leads me to assume that the majority of the food was not at least somewhat fresh. But, good volume in the building and good decor I just wish the food tasted better. Unfortunately I would not come back again because the prices were also unrealistically high for food quality like that. The drunken noodle was on point though with the scallops. The roasted duck was way too dry. I wish they would make this a lot better since I do like duck a lot.
