    Happy hour food menu
    Lin L.

Poor communication, misleading Happy Hour promotion, and unresolved refund! Parking: Free with plenty of spaces. Restroom: Three stalls for each gender and reasonably clean. We visited on Tuesday (6/30) around 5:30 PM with a group of 10. The restaurant is spacious and can easily accommodate larger parties. Happy Hour flyers (Mon-Fri, 3:00-7:00 PM) were placed directly on our dining table when we were seated. Naturally, we assumed the Happy Hour menu applied to our table. Several of us ordered the Signature Margarita from that flyer. I even pointed directly at the Happy Hour menu when placing my order. The server asked whether I wanted it "blended" or "on the rocks", and I chose "blended" based on my friends' recommendation. At least five people in our group ordered the same margarita the same way. Some of my friends also ordered food from the Happy Hour menu. The taco station was decent, but the setup felt awkward. Customers have to lean over the uncovered toppings while ordering, which didn't seem very hygienic. It also becomes congested because people picking up food cross paths with those still ordering. The biggest surprise came when we received the bill. The margaritas and several Happy Hour food items were charged at regular price. When I spoke with the manager, the explanation kept changing. She first said Happy Hour pricing only applied in the bar area, despite the Happy Hour flyers being placed on our dining table. She later said the restaurant sometimes honors Happy Hour pricing at dining tables when the bar is full, making the policy even more confusing. She also said the margarita special only applied to the "on the rocks" version, even though that restriction wasn't stated on the flyer. At no point did the server tell us that the Happy Hour pricing didn't apply to our table or that ordering the blended version would cost more. Had we been informed before ordering, we could have made an informed decision. The manager told me she refunded the price difference for my margarita, while saying each of my friends would need to request their own refunds individually instead of correcting the entire table's bill. Update (7/14): The manager told me on 7/1 that my refund had already been processed. As of 7/14, no refund has appeared on my credit card. I called the restaurant multiple times to ask about it, and each time I was told that the general manager would return my call, but no one ever followed up. Since I couldn't get the issue resolved through the restaurant, I had to file a dispute with my credit card company. The issue wasn't simply that there were Happy Hour restrictions. It was that the restaurant handed us the Happy Hour menu at our table, accepted our orders without explaining any restrictions, then charged regular prices afterward. The inconsistent explanations and failure to follow through on the promised refund made the experience even more disappointing. My advice: If you order from the Happy Hour menu, confirm that the promotion applies to your table and verify your receipt before paying.

$2.99 Margaritas all day on Mondays

We came here on Monday (Memorial Day) for their happy hour! Me and my husband were seated at a table but told the waitress we wanted the HH deals and she was so kind to help us get a spot at the Bar! Our server at the bar was named Gabby! She was so friendly, quick and just overall so great! Loved their $2.99 all day Monday margaritas!! Great size and you can get different flavors for a few extra bucks. Their happy hour is 3-7pm and their options are great! We got the Ghost Pepper BBQ wings (spicyyyyy but Soo good and not dry at all!), street tacos, and their chicken nachos! Everything was 10/10. We really enjoyed it all & gotta love the free chips and salsa! Overall such great vibes and a great spot for a quick happy hour! Friendly and good service! Waited a bit longer for our food... About 20-25 mins!

I think it's been 20 years since iv gone to a chevys and it was pretty good. I served was great with making sure we had everything and recommended so great choice. Everything was really good my husband got the root beer ribs and he liked them and I got enchiladas. We look forward to trying the brunch buffet as well.

The Sunday brunch was really nice just know it's 45 a person which is good deal for what they offer. Most of the food was warm/hot through the brunch although the tamales get cold fast. The service was great and attentive. There's lot of options that embodied the brunch experience and even had dessert. The chocolate fountain was fun to look at. The mimosa were always cold when served too. Nice vibe overall. The menu overall is good I always find something good when I come here.

Stopped in for happy hour. It's been a while since I've been here. I will never order the chicken nachos. It isn't your typical nachos where you get a bunch of chips and chicken and cheese, etc. it's ONE chip with cheese and chicken. I think there's about seven pieces per order was highly disappointed. Staff were friendly. There's $2.99 margaritas every Monday happy hour is every day Monday through Fridays from 3 PM to 6 PM.

Decided to visit Chevys for a night out. Haven't been here in over a year but it's in a nice location with plenty of parking. It was a busy night but we got seated and ordered fairly quickly. This spot is clean with a bar and TVs at the front. Ordered buffalo wings for appetizer to start. I ordered the flamed mixed grill fajitas with steak, chicken, carnitas, and shrimp. My friend she ordered the three amigos combo with chipotle chicken enchilada, shrimp a la diabla served on rice, and a beef taco. Chips and salsa included. Hot food served fairly quickly and tasted great! The staff are friendly and ensured to refill drinks. Good experience overall.

I made a to-go order here the other day because I had my dog with me and wanted to have lunch in the park with her. I could not decide between the three chicken taco combo meal ($22) or the chicken flautas appetizer ($15) so I got them both and then I saw the asada fries ($14.50) and added those as well. I can be indecisive at times. It took about 20 minutes for the food to come out. The restaurant was mostly empty but they did have some sort of set up for an all you can eat brunch and I will definitely be looking into trying that. The rice and beans in my combo were delicious. The beans were flavored really well and that is so important to me. I did not really like the tacos but I think they would be fine for most people. The meat was way to moist and soft and the liquid made the slightly crispy shells soggy. The lack of cheese on the tacos also made them bland but my dog enjoyed the chicken from the tacos and honestly ate a lot of it. The tiny scoop of sweet corn tomolito on the side of the combo was a nice little treat and I really enjoyed that. I did not like the wrapping on the flautas. It reminded me of an eggroll wrapper but the meat and cheese inside was good and the pineapple, although a strange choice in my opinion, did add a pop of freshness. The asada fries were 5 stars all the way. The fries were cooked and seasoned well and the toppings were great. I definitely recommend those. Overall, I would give my experience a 3.5/5 but I always round up and the fries were so good they deserve some extra points. I will probably be back one of these Sundays to try out the brunch and update my review.

Junior was a great server, very attentive throughout the whole time, refilled salsa and made sure my experience was nothing less than amazing. Bartender Robert made a bomb ass drink. I've never had a bad experience here in the many years I've been coming here, and will be back again. Thank you!

Never had a bad meal at this Chevys location! They accommodated my large party on the 4th of July after we participated in the parade a few years back. Definitely need to give kudos to Ms. Cynthia, one of the managers who runs a tight crew. She wished me a happy birthday, made sure I enjoyed my experience, and her entire team went above & beyond!

Chips and salsa. 10/10 every time

I don't have enough positive things to say about this Chevy's.The food is always perfect, delicious, and hot. They always have good music playing, beautiful decor and soft, inviting lights. The service has never let me down - Robert, Ramon, and Junior go above and beyond for their customers and it's always a treat to chat with them when I stop in. Junior in particular has kept me stocked with chips and salsa, which was very appreciated!

The salsa was too smokey, for the chips and salsa. The guacamole was tasty; they make it there at the table and to your desired texture. The filling of my shrimp and crab enchiladas were good, but the pesto cream sauce on the outside I wasn't fond of. The rice was dry. The pinto beans had flavor but I didn't know it came with meat in it. Service was good. I had extra guests come late and I had to ask 4 times for them to get a menu.

MIX & MATCH ANY 2 FAJITAS

From the moment we walked in service was on point. The place was clean, with the bar area having happy hour every day and big screens playing the games, giving a Tex-mex sports bar and grill vibe. I was with a party of 5, 4 adults and 1 kid. As usual the kid ordered chicken tenders, which he said were the best as he didn't even need ketchup or ranch for them. One ordered a giant combo with 5 different items, which she said was pretty good, except for the chile relleno which was not how she usually likes it. The rest of us ordered fajitas. The tortillas are still the thick handmade flour tortillas which are great by themselves or with butter. The fajitas don't come with guacamole, so we ordered a discounted happy hour guacamole and fajita nachos to start. I also ordered a strawberry margarita which was nice and strong, better than I remember. Where they can improve is they should check their restrooms more often. The men's room was in need of paper towels. The tamalito they put in the place was the smallest teaspoon sized bit, they could at least add a scoop. Overall we all enjoyed our food and will definitely come back. That's this critic's review, until next time, I'll be eating.

The staff is super attentive and ready to fill your cups or take away any finished dishes. Tonight I had the plum salad. Sounded a little on the wild side but it was amazing! So sweet and refreshing I ate every bit of it! Loved it! For my entree I picked the braised short ribs .. it was so tender! I was put off by the blue cheese mash beneath it a bit but it's ok because the short rib was so delicious. For dessert I had the berry crumb cobbler. The cobbler came with a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top. It was great! The berries were sweet and the crumb top was so buttery. Everything flowed deliciously. My husband had the filet mignon.. he said it was made medium rare just as he asked. And of course the crème brûlée is the reason why he keeps coming back lol My go to for fine dining in Elk Grove! Love the intimate scenery with great food!

I made a reservation inquiry for my birthday at exactly 5:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, for a party…read moreof two. I was told the earliest available reservation was 7:45 PM. I then asked if there was any chance of being seated sooner as a walk-in, and Aubrey told me they had room for two at a table in the bar area. I specifically asked whether it was an actual table where we could comfortably order food, because I did not want to be stuck at some tiny corner setup where only one plate could fit. I also made it clear that it was my birthday and that I wanted something a little more formal and comfortable. I was told it would be in the front by the bar, not shoved in a corner, though it could be a little crowded if people were in the waiting area. When we arrived, the first issue was parking. For a first-time guest, parking was unnecessarily difficult to figure out, especially during a rainstorm. Since the restaurant is set up like a small house, it was not obvious where to park, and there was no clear sign letting us know there was parking around the back. Once we walked in, I immediately saw the table that had been described to us. It was right near the bar against the wall, and it was much smaller and more awkward than I had been led to believe. My girlfriend was wearing a dress, and because it was such a high table, it made it uncomfortable for her to sit naturally and comfortably. As soon as we sat down, I looked at the table and asked if we were really going to be able to order multiple items and eat comfortably there. I was told they would "pace it" and "make it work." That should have been the warning sign right there. We started with two ice waters, and even that nearly filled the table. They brought a pitcher and poured the water into the glasses. I asked for a separate cup of ice, and because there was so little room on the table, I had to ask the waiter to take the glass back and pour it for me so I would not spill everything. That is how cramped this setup was. We ordered the chicken breast special and a half dozen oysters. First came the garlic bread, and now we had bread, butter, two waters, silverware everywhere, and barely any room left. Then the oysters arrived, and everything had to be shifted around just to make it fit. At that point, the table had bread, oysters, hot sauce, waters, and multiple pieces of silverware for each guest, and it felt like one wrong move would send a glass to the floor. After we finished the oysters and bread, they cleared the table and brought out our entrée. We ordered the shareable chicken breast after I specifically asked whether it would be enough food for both of us. The waiter said it should be. In reality, it was about four small pieces of chicken once cut, three asparagus spears, and two very small scoops of mashed potatoes. For the price, it was honestly disappointing. I cannot remember the last time I paid that much at a nicer restaurant and still left hungry. What made it worse was that they knew it was my birthday and did absolutely nothing to acknowledge it. No small dessert, no candle, no gesture, nothing. Ironically, the only people who made the night feel special were another couple who had apparently been dining there for years. They overheard us mention it was my birthday and kindly bought us two sparkling wines. That was thoughtful, but it also added even more clutter to an already ridiculously tiny table. The service overall was underwhelming. We were barely checked on, and the whole experience felt awkward. The hostess kept staring at us throughout the meal, and at one point, she rolled her eyes when she went to take the Tabasco sauce, and we told her we still needed it for the chicken. For the prices Boulevard Bistro charges, I expected much better service, better communication, and a much more comfortable dining experience. Instead, the whole night felt misleading, cramped, and disappointing. I will not be coming back.

This is a fair review…read more Mimi's is definitely a cozy spot with excellent staff, but quality can be hit or miss. I've been dining at Mimi's Cafe for many years, and while it still holds a lot of cozy charm, it's definitely a mixed bag now vs. 15-20 yrs ago. It was 5 stars back then. The Positives... *Friendly Staff: The service here is consistently warm, welcoming, and accommodating. *Cozy Ambience: The restaurant provides a great, comfortable atmosphere that is particularly relaxing and ideal for older adults. Tbh I have an old soul with some social anxiety. So Mimi's became an instant fav in my 20s for the ambience alone. *Great Brunch Selections: The menu offers a fantastic variety that is perfect for breakfast or brunch. It's truly all about the brunch at Mimi's! I don't think they could ever mess up a pancake, waffle, or French toast. *The muffins: Their muffins are unbeatable! So delicious and fresh. The Downsides... *Bland Flavors: Certain classic menu items have become a bit bland and lack the rich, robust taste they had 15 to 20 years ago. *High Price Point: For the quality you receive, the prices feels a bit too high. Plus they have done away with the free bread and carrot cake baskets. Although I believe they may still give you free bread, but you'll have to ask. *Timing Affects Quality: The timing of your order matters immensely. If you order a breakfast item during evening hours, parts of it might arrive tasting old, hard, and reheated. Recommendation:It remains a wonderful place for breakfast and brunch.

We tried to go to Cattleman's for lunch and discovered they don't open till 4pm. So, we decided on Mimi's on the other side of the parking lot. There were 8 people total there for lunch when we arrived. We ordered; half chicken meal, French pot roast and the trio platter with chips, the artichoke dip, chicken wings, chicken quesadillas. Trio: Chips were terribly stale, artichoke dip looked old, old, old and tasted old too. Quesadilla lacked flavor. The wings were just okay. French pot roast- Over sauces so you can't taste anything else. Half Chicken- was so old and zero flavor. I was surprised they were not embarrassed to serve us that meal. The soda was completely FLAT. We tipped the server his 20%, not his fault the food was horrid. We will never return. They might be great at just breakfast, I don't know. We took the French pot roast home, rinsed off the sauce and fed it to our dog.

Oh my, the French toast is a huge portion and beautifully presented with a side of whipped cream and strawberry compote on top. It's not as sweet as it looks (perfect for my taste) and the toast had crispy edges. Sausage was good but needed to be cooked just a bit longer, so you get that snap when you bite it. Scrambled eggs were good too. My husband got the chorizo burrito with tater tots on the side. He liked the burrito but said it did have little kick to it. The tots were fried to perfection and not oily. My brother ordered the "Dad's Mash Up," all kinds of stuff (breakfast meats and cheese) served on top of tots and covered in gravy. It was a pile of food, no complaints from my bro. Service was great and welcoming as soon as we walked in. No wait on a Wednesday morning, but I imagine there is on the weekends. I let our server know it was my brother's birthday, and after we were finishing up our meals, they brought him a complimentary small plate of the strawberry French toast! That was a fantastic way to end his celebratory breakfast. My only complaint, which is more of a suggestion, is to have flavored cream available besides half and half. The coffee is strong and delicious and our cups were never empty. Thank you, Jamie and staff, for a wonderful and yummy first visit. We'll be back!

Wait Time: 15 minutes (Sunday brunch)…read more Parking: Free with plenty of spaces in the shopping complex. Restroom: Bright and clean. Ambience: The space feels somewhat unfinished. Much of the interior consists of plain, single-color walls without much décor, giving it a blank and somewhat incomplete feel. Service: Friendly but slow and somewhat disorganized. * At check-in, the host added my name (Lin) to the waitlist and said I would receive a text when my table was ready. However, the notification arrived under a different name (Nancy), so I had to double-check whether the table was actually for us. * Our server was pleasant, but service felt scattered. She stopped by to check on us, but before we could respond, she walked over to another table and continued a conversation there. When she returned, she said she would bring water, even though we were already ready to order. It took a while for the water to arrive. * Later, we requested a water refill, which she acknowledged, but it appeared to be forgotten. The refill only came when we were getting ready to leave, at which point she apologized. Although it was a Sunday brunch service, the restaurant did not seem busy enough to fully explain the level of disorganization. Food: Breakfast is available all day. I recommend the Eggs Benedict (weekends only), which comes in several varieties: A. Bacon, spinach, and tomato Benedict B. Traditional ham Benedict C. Cali Benedict with avocado, tomatoes, and arugula D. Smoked Salmon Benedict The Club Sandwich also comes with a generous portion size. A nice convenience is that the restaurant allows split bills, and guests can pay individually through the Toast app.

Their menu has the typical breakfast benedicts and sweet waffles as well as savory herb waffles and even lunch fare - like burgers, BLTs, Crispy chicken sandwiches, and Ribeye sandwiches! Nice roomy seating area and a cute counter bar and patio seating, too.

Came in with my family (party of 4) on a Sunday morning around 11am expecting it to be busy, which it was. We were told it was a 15 minute wait - no problem. After getting seated, by the hostess, it took 5 minutes for a server to come by touch our table, no waters, no name or introduction, just a simple "I'll be right with you guys." We were seated in the outside patio, no music, just quiet enough to hear every tables conversation. After taking our order, we asked for waters, which was dropped off to us almost 20 minutes later. After waiting almost 40 minutes, I got up and went inside to check the status of our order. I was told they were working on it and should be out in 5 mins. Food never came out after waiting almost an hour after being seated, so we decided to leave. I kindly told our waitress that we were leaving and asked if it was possible to speak with a manager in which I was told "we don't have a manager. The owner is here, but I doubt he will come talk to you right now since he is really busy." I'm all for supporting small businesses and I understand that coming in for Sunday brunch - it's going to be busy. But this was by far the worst "dining" experience ever. We will not be returning to this restaurant and neither should you. To make matters worse, the couple next to us also got up and left when we did due to the horrible customer service. Ran into the couple outside who told us that they left because they were too hungry to continue waiting and that the service was SLOW! Again, do yourself and your family a favor and DO NOT waste your time here! I would give 0 stars if I could.

It's a great deal and made it easy to justify trying one of their signature comfort-food plates. Here's what I got: 4pc Broaster Chicken The Broaster chicken dinner was the standout and easily my favorite part of the dinner. The four-piece meal is regularly priced at $19.99 and comes with a choice of side, plus garlic toast or cornbread, along with a salad. The chicken arrived golden, crispy, and exactly how broasted chicken should be--moist inside with a crunchy exterior that tasted fresh, not greasy. I chose the mashed potatoes as my side and they were creamy with chunks of potato whipped within. They were topped with country gravy, turning these spuds into full-on comfort food. The cornbread was a large, satisfying portion; the whipped butter and honey on top rounded it out nicely and made it feel like a classic diner treat. Vegetable and Salad The vegetable side was the one miss on the plate. The zucchini, broccoli, squash and carrots seemed to be steamed and were noticeably overcooked and sitting in water, which made them soggy. The side salad, on the other hand, was solid. I opted for blue cheese dressing, which tasted like it was made in-house and added a lot of flavor. There were a few pieces of lettuce with brown edges that I just removed, but overall the salad was fresh enough and a nice way to start the meal. Service was friendly from the moment we walked in. We were greeted right away, offered a choice of a booth or table, and seated quickly, even though it was senior night and the discount window can draw a crowd. The interior looks and feels like a classic diner: red accents, country-style decor on the walls, a TV with the news playing, and a front counter where you pay as you leave. Near the entrance there's a pie case showing off their desserts--in particular, an apple pie that looked very tempting and is on my list to try next time. Overall, Original Mike's Diner delivers satisfying diner food, warm service, and a straightforward, old-school atmosphere, with the Broaster chicken and sides carrying the experience. The overcooked veggies keep it from being a perfect visit, but the generous senior discount and friendly staff make this an easy 4-star spot I'm happy to return to--especially on Thursday nights. Simply Wonderful!!
