Dong Ding Oolong Tea With Milk

I have mixed feelings about Chicha and honestly I think it comes down to the drink you order! I've been here on multiple occasions since grand opening to try different drinks and each one is a hit or miss for me. My personal favorites are the taro bubble milk tea and mango tart - these are definite hits. The taro tastes balanced with just the right amount of sweet, whereas the mango is more of a refresher/great as a summer drink Service is standard and the interior looks clean and modern. Parking can be validated in the plaza's underground parking structure, or you can park on the street/at the Michael's structure and walk. I just wish the drinks weren't so expensive... these were near $10 each. I'm not sure if they've fixed the photobooth, but hope that has been done as it was down the last couple of times I went.

Another fantastic addition to the local boba scene in Sawtelle. Fast service and great Taiwanese tea products. Highly recommend!

Yes, yes I know the parking is hard in Sawtelle but there's the undeground parking, meter, etc. The shop itself is very sparkling clean, friendly staff and you can watch them brew the tea and make your drinks. That being said, it does take a while for your drinks to be made. I believe we got the most popular milk tea drink that was recommended. The milk tea drink itself had a soft foamy top, not too sweet and the boba balls were nice and chewy. I guess that frothy texture threw me off. I also expected more of a tea flavor but it was a bit lost on me. This is my third time trying Chicha San Chen in a third location and I think its just not for me. Check it out if you're a fan and curious of the hype. Glad to have it locally in Sawtelle for others.

This tea chain will be my new go-to if I'm ever near a location! Loved it. Fresh tea, brewed in front of you and served the way you like it. I got mine iced with konjac jelly. There is a decent amount of seating, not sure how busy it would be get during rush hours. They went with a simple ambiance and perfected it inside.

Oooo this place is GOOD. First off it's super cute & is giving the ikea of boba tea. Customizable, aesthetic, friendly service. I loved this cutie westside stop. Parking is notoriously tough around here but I snagged a prepaid meter nearby and was in and out under 10 min! Def make a couple rounds & don't be scared to walk a block. I went with a delicious unsweetened oolong, cream top + boba. Everything is made fresh to order, and I loved walking out with my adorable lil boba purse.

This might be my favorite new tea spot! This is more of a traditional tea brew place with more tea drinks than milk tea. I went with the honey oolong and got the orange lemon pouchang for my partner. Both were brewed fresh and made to order and they were both refreshing and delicious! You can order at the kiosk or there is someone available for in person ordering. Even though it was made to order it did not take long. Not to mention parking is validated up to 30 minutes. For Sawtelle, parking is a must!

We tried two different teas here, and both were very refreshing. It looked like they have tables for tea tastings, but when I visited on a Sunday afternoon, I didn't see any tasting or tea consultation sessions taking place. The brewing machines were unique, and it was fun watching how they prepared the tea. However, I didn't notice a significant difference in flavor compared with other tea shops.

I tried this location of Chica San Chen for the first time, and it did not disappointment. I tried their green tea with boba, and the tea had a fresh, fragrant flavor that stood out. The boba was soft and chewy, and it complemented the overall drink. Service was friendly and quick, and there was plenty of seating in the boba shop to enjoy boba by yourself or with others.

Came here after a looooong day in LA looking for something light and refreshing and I definitely found what I was searching for!!! I got the honey osmanthus oolong tea because it was one of the top recommended drinks on the menu and I thought it was the perfect balance of sweetness and tea flavor. There were also some samples of honey cassia black tea set out which was also VERY good!!! I don't have much to say about the milk teas but my drink was very good and I would definitely come back the next time I make a trip to LA! The store itself is also very nice and clean and the service was pretty standard. There are two kiosks on right side when we walked in which is always pretty handy since we can take our time thoroughly looking through the menu. Also not the first time I've seen these types of carrying strings but it really comes in handy when you're in a walkable city like LA.

Taiwanese tea chain CHICHA San Chen currently has a foothold in Los Angeles and the chain recently opened this new location in one of the busiest parts of LA - Sawtelle Japantown - where other competitors like Odd One Out Tea, Volcano Tea House, Noble Tea, and Teaspoon are all located within two blocks of each other. Heck, that's not even mentioning that CHICHA San Chen is located literally next to popular regional coffee chain Alfred Coffee with Tomo Coffee just a block away. So I guess CHICHA San Chen is certainly not afraid of the competition. [Parking]: To my surprise, it was nearly impossible to find street parking in Sawtelle at 10 PM on Friday. Luckily, the plaza where CHICHA San Chen is located offers 30 minutes of free underground parking with validation. Bring your parking ticket with you and the staff at the shop will stamp it. [Atmosphere & Ordering]: This location has several indoor tables and an outdoor bench to sit, but no seats were available on Friday night. Single-file line to order drinks and customers can order through a kiosk or with the staff; however, most customers wanted to try the free drink sample so they mostly waited for staff assistance. The shop only lets customers sample whatever featured drink they have available at the moment, but customers can also smell the aromas of various tea leaves at the ordering counter. [Menu]: The laminated menu lists several popular drinks including Bubble Milk Tea, Bubble Volcano, Creamy Mango Lemon Tart, Honey Osmanthus Oolong Tea, Orange Lemon Pouchong Tea, Classic Fruit Tea, and Passion Fruit Green Tea. If you are a fan of taro, the shop also offers various taro drinks. *** Honey Osmanthus Oolong Tea (regular sweet, less ice - $7.25): A perfectly refreshing drink with right sweetness and I think this is one of the best drinks to order at CHICHA San Chen. *** As expected CHICHA San Chen offers refreshing drinks made with tea extracted from teapresso machines, but unlike other locations this Sawtelle location offers free tea samples. A big plus on offering a 30-minute parking validation.

Last month, I visited ChiCha San Chen for the first time. I went to the new Sawtelle location with my friend on Saturday afternoon, and it was packed. The shop space is small, yet clean and well-lit with some tables and casual vibes. I got the Osmanthus Oolong Tea with light sugar and normal ice ($7.25), which was fragrant and refreshing with the perfect amount of sweetness. The cup packaging was neat as well. Additionally, I wanted to note my order/pick-up experience and bring awareness to those planning to visit during the shop's peak times. During my visit, ordering was quick, but picking-up took a while. Every receipt had an order number and I knew I was going to have to wait a bit, but several numbers past mine were already called, so I asked the staff at the counter about the status of my order. They verified my receipt, apologized for the delay, and made my drink right away. I don't know how my order was missed, but luckily, the situation was resolved after I checked with the staff. Finally, about 20 minutes after I placed my order, I got my drink and a free tea bag as an apology from the staff. Honestly, the customer service made up for the ordeal. I may return to this location at a less busy time to avoid repeating this situation.

Had lunch in Sawtelle and walked over to check out this new location. I parked elsewhere but it seems they also have garage validation. There's a few tables inside and some outdoor seating in the plaza. Lots of customers awaiting their orders but no line for placing an order. Super excited to see the return of the taro series, especially since the SGV and Koreatown locations don't have it. I ordered the taro milk tea as I'm a huge fan of the taro balls and taro paste and it didn't disappoint. Would highly recommend this drink, or any in the taro series, if you're a taro fan. Their green milk tea with taro balls is also an amazing drink. Quick service, friendly staff, would come back again.

If you look at my page, you'll see I rarely give 5 stars. It has to be really really good for me to give it 5 stars, and this place IS! It's our new favorite boba spot. It's usually pretty crowded but the line moves fast. You can also order online. I always get the bubble boba with less sugar (it's the perfect amount of sweetness like that). My hubby gets the taro latte because he says the taro balls are way better than boba. They validate parking in the structure for 30 minutes! Staff is always really nice. And it's cute inside with plenty of seating.

The little tea shop sits in a small strip and was the only establishment opened on a Sunday evening. This made for easy parking but I couldn't help but feel that the location was a bit eerie. Orders are made via tablet or directly with a staffer at the register. The menu lists: milk teas, specialty teas, tea slushees, lattes, and coffee. Drinks are customizable when it comes to sweetness level. Purchases: *ORIGINAL THAI- regular size, 30% sweetened *JASMINE MILK TEA- large size, 50% sweetened *YUZU GREEN TEA- regular size, 30% sweetened The yuzu green tea was fantastic. This was the perfect item to satisfy my thirst. This was not only deliciously refreshing but the agar jelly balls were so enjoyable. The original Thai tea set at 30% sweetener was perfect- it had the best punch of tea flavor with the subtle sweetness that balanced the bold spice profiles. The worst buy was 100% jasmine milk tea. This literally tasted like sugar water. At 50% sweetness level, I could not imagine what 100% default would be. This cup literally tasted like condensed milk poured over ice. 3 stars overall. It is so unfortunate how ChaTraMue has clear signage of them standing by their products and guaranteeing customer satisfaction only for our simple request for more tea [to offset the sickenly sweet cup] to be denied. The gentleman at the bar said the only option was to go and purchase another drink. BRAVO!! The customer service here is unmatched and the guarantee policy only applies to certain situations?????

The smoked salmon sandwich was probably my favorite of the savory bites. The desserts were pretty, sweet, and fit the whimsical princess tea-room aesthetic well. Nothing was overly adventurous or fusion-y, but everything felt thoughtfully prepared for an elevated afternoon tea experience. The portions were surprisingly filling by the end too! Price: Rose & Blanc is one of the more approachable afternoon tea experiences in Los Angeles. Their standard tea service starts around $38 per person, while the more elaborate tea set runs about $50 per person and includes additional stuff. Given how expensive high tea can get around LA, the pricing feels fairly reasonable, especially for special occasions like birthdays, bridal showers, or catching up with friends. Ambiance: The ambiance is probably the biggest draw here. The entire space is decorated in soft baby pink with floral accents, chandeliers, vintage-inspired décor, and elegant table settings. It feels feminine, charming (not tacky at all!) and intentionally designed for celebrations, and of course Instagram photos. Despite being located upstairs in a bustling Koreatown plaza, once you're inside it feels surprisingly cozy and transported from the busy city outside. Back then, I really liked their Einspänner and ordered it several times. But the last time I came, I thought it was way too sweet, so I hadn't been back since. It had actually been a REALLY long time since I last visited. And when I used to come here four years ago, I always came in the morning or around lunchtime. Last night was my first time ever coming here at night. My friend told us that they are open until midnight, so that's why we decided to come here after dinner. I had heard that parking here can be a nightmare because there aren't enough parking spaces and people have a hard time finding a spot. But once again, my parking luck was AMAZING! A car pulled out right in front of me just as I arrived, so I was able to park very easily. Another friend arrived later than I did, and she said she couldn't find a parking spot at all. She drove around for quite a while looking for one before finally finding street parking. They had the air conditioning turned up so high that both my friends and I felt like we were going to freeze to death. The restroom is inside, and I also went inside to get some water, so I mentioned to one of the male employees that it was freezing inside. He told me that they didn't feel cold at all because they were working, and that THEY were actually feeling really hot. I went back to our table and told my friends what he had said, and they were like, "WHAT?! We're freezing to death over here!" The parking lot here is actually pretty large, so I was wondering why it was so difficult to find a parking spot. Apparently, at night, the left side is the café, while on the right side there is a bar where people can drink and also play games. There was a huge line of people waiting outside the bar last night, so I'm guessing that's probably why the parking lot gets so crowded and it's hard to find a spot. It was also pretty chilly outside last night because of the low temperature, so one thing I wished they had on the outdoor patio was heaters. That would have made sitting outside much more comfortable on a cold night.

Was craving some late-night boba and was glad 3CAT was open! I tried the Mochi Barley Burst (less…read moresweet), and it was so yummy. It's a black milk tea with soft mochi topping and a barley popping boba, which make for such a fun texture! I love anything mochi, so this drink was perfect! You order at one of the kiosks, and service is pretty fast. There's limited seating, but it feels more like a grab-and-go boba spot. There's also a parking lot attached to the plaza, which is convenient, although it seems like it can get pretty busy during peak hours.

Boba Upgraded! The Mochi Barley Burst Is an Absolute Must-Try…read more 3CAT Handcrafted Beverage has become one of my new favorite boba spots! This is a tea-forward spot that makes all ingredients and toppings fresh from scratch daily. Their most well-known unique topping is the barley popping boba. They use a real-chewy highland barley grain that gives off a nutty, earthy and milkdly sweet pop that makes for a unique texture. The fan-favorite drink is the Mochi Barley Burst which pairs a floral black milk tea with the popping barley and fresh handcrafted mochi. The tea does not have any artificial syrups and uses an organic milk with a bold tea base. The handcrafted mochi is super fun to have with the popping barley because it is pillowy and velvety. Make sure to mix it well together, so you can enjoy the whole drink for all its features. I like the ambiance of the shop. It's a smaller shop with some seating area. You order your drink at the self-service station. There's quite a few staff working to make the drinks, so we got our drinks in less than 10 minutes. I adore 3CAT and I would highly recommend visiting if you haven't already!
