We have only two Chick Fil A's in town so it is common that at 1:00pm on a weekday there will be a line in drive-thru. It didn't matter that I was the seventh car in line. We wanted a chicken sandwich and some nuggets with waffle fries....so that's what we ordered from the nice young man that took our order even before reaching the first window. Choosing sauce is always a joy, chick fil a and buffalo of course. On this day we ordered our entree and fries separate, no combo meal (with a drink) today. Make sure you ask for ketchup and sauce if you want it. You won't get asked if you want sauce but once you do, you will get asked, "How many would you like?" On the road today and we decided to go with Chick-fil-A because of location. It is easily located of highway 41 between Madera and Fresno. We just went through the drive-thru. The line was long, but it moved fast. We ordered our typical favorite which is some spicy chicken sandwiches. The boneless chicken of course comes breaded, seasoned and fried. Rumors are that the chicken is possibly brined in pickle juice. I can see how this could be true, because of the hint of flavor. Comes with Hawaiian style burger buns and pickles. I've only been to this particular location twice. This being the second visit. I was in a hurry to get to a meeting and needed something to grab and go. I pass this place all the time. But it's right next to an establishment that I eat at a lot and it usually wins out over Chick-fil-A. Another reason I don't come here is that they crammed it into an already small parking lot. I mean you have In N Out, Westwood BBQ and another pretty large store all sharing the same space. Not exactly convenient. The lines of cars in the drive through are usually quite long. I absolutely love chick fila. Sad thing is they are ALWAYS packed. Luckily the line doesn't take long and they help each drive through customer in about 2 min. They're very quick. Poorly managed restaurant serving cold food with dozens of undirected employees playing and socializing while the line backs out the door and the manager is glued to the order screen. From my perspective, this place suffers from an unmotivated, hum-dee-ho, management style that is lacking a 'sense of urgency' or ability to anticipate all the balls that need to be juggled. Most of the trash containers were overfilled and garbage was on the floors, including the bathroom and the outside. Water was pooled on the bathroom floor and there was another puddle under the men's urinal. Is anyone checking? It's WAY past time! Worst of all, the line employees are just standing there, joking and socializing, while the line heads out the door with only ONE register open. Meanwhile, the manager is burrowed in and zoning out, hunkered down, in front of the order screen. After 5 minutes in line, and one employee heading slowly to the other register, (he keeps flipping his head back to babble about nothing with the other employee he's flirting with), he FINALLY is ready to open another register. I hope I didn't ruin his fun by having to put my order in. NO SENSE OF URGENCY here and their food comes out cold! How hard is it to put 4 tenders in a box and hand them too me? Especially since they've been sitting around in a pile getting cold. Am I waiting because you dropped fresh ones that will be hot and are showing concern for your customers? No! Terrible experience here. With labor costs as high as they are, you'd expect some productivity out of your crew, no? This restaurant is sadly lacking supervision and inefficient deployment of unmotivated employees seems the norm. The oblivious girl, acting as THE manager needs to pick up the pace, learning to delegate. I could understand if they were short staffed and the employees were actually MOVING but that wasn't the case here. There must have been 7-8 employees just milling about...bumping into each other and carrying on casual 'filling the time' conversations at the expense of the customer service. Back again for another bad review. We went inside to dine in, but instantly changed our minds when we walked in a noticed how dirty the place is. The floor has a layer of grease and the one table we sat at while waiting for our food was dirty. When we made it up to order, I was appalled at the messiness on the counter. Luckily I knew to check our bag before leaving because, of course, items were missing. I don't blame the workers, though, as they have a very chaotic work environment. And yet they're still nice. The worst part about this place was that there is a partition creating a very private area that takes up about 1/4 of the customer seating. An employee kept walking in and out carrying a neon green toolkit or something. It was very strange and I couldn't wait to get my food and get out. Our clothes smelled bad when we walked out. That place is disgusting. In addition, the trash cans were overflowing, there were no napkins, and no grilled chicken! And some registers don't accept cash so people have to wait longer in line. They didn't even have toilet paper in the restrooms! The mismanagement is very evident and unfortunate. They did not have anything with larger print when I requested it. I can place my order via the app, pull up to the drive thru or curbside, and have the food in a few minutes. The service here is always courteous and very helpful for a mom with 4 kids, when I do venture to take all the kids out of the car. Used the mobile app to order 4 sandwiches and 4 waffle fries, 2 drinks, along with 16 sauces. When picking up curbside, I asked the employee if all my sauces were in the bag. She replied, "I'm not sure." I asked which drink was which since neither were marked, she replied, "I'm not sure." I went to check the bag, turned around and she was gone. I entered the store to notify that only 1/2 my sauces were in the bag. An employee stated they had a limit - 2 per meal, 1 per entree. I asked to speak to a manager who I then asked why, if this was a policy, wasn't it on their mobile app. He was uninterested and said, "oh well. That's the policy." I asked for my money back. He took my receipt and proceeded to refund my money. Never once did he apologize for the inconvenience or missing information from the app. I asked where I could complain about this discrepancy and he said look on the glass to get the number. Chick Fil A has the best Strawberry Milk Shake and as of now or couple of months ago they're discontinue their size Large. So you're getting less and paying for more. I won't mind getting more and paying more for it because it's worth it. Is their marketing team trying to shave the Calories in their menu line up or what's really going on here??? To me i find the transition not having a Large size milk shake a bad move for the company but it's out of my control and hopefully one day they realize their sales and volume from a large size milkshake brings in more revenue and hopefully they will bring it back. read more
