    Chicken Broth
    Alexis E.

Great source of protein! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This location is inside 99 ranch and it's nice that's it's next to other food shops but it gets hot inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the grilled chicken with rice and veggies. They provided a side of chicken broth which was a nice touch. Chicken was cooked well and had a wonderful flavor. Sweet chili sauce and garlic went well with the dish. Service was decent considering the long line of orders. Took about 10-15 minutes.

Have not been here in a while. Still one of the best hainan chicken in the bay area! Easy kiosk ordering and food was ready in a heart beat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Casual dining tables, clean yet not too noisy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will come again!

Hainan chicken undercooked, still pink. Me = toilet

We used to eat CMR often, like there was a time we were eating it once a week, until the portions have gotten smaller in the last year, so it's not as often we pick up from here. But sadly, this may be the last... We ordered three hainan chicken boxes. I got the dark meat with skin, and upon opening the box, the meat was displayed skin up, didn't think anything of it, and in my belly it went. I ate half my meal and started to feel a little sick and decided to stop. Half an hour later I am met with intense stomach cramps and multiple visits to the bathroom (if you know what I mean). I'm currently at the point of being afraid of leaving the toilet hours later. I went back to examine my leftover chicken and realized my chicken was well undercooked and still pink. Yes, I probably should have checked before eating, but with the skin up and never having a problem before, I just ate it. Luckily it was just me and not my husband and kids meal, but it's enough to leave me traumatized and not returning :(.

The Hainan Chicken Box is their most popular dish and it is such a comfort food. For the base, definitely get the Chicken Rice, which is Jasmine rice steamed in Hainanese chicken stock made with the chicken fat and juices. It was tasty and had a shiny yellow sheen. Another base option is salad greens with a romaine lettuce/cabbage mix, making it healthier. The chicken is slow poached with ginger and scallions, making it super tender and juicy. You can choose white meat only, dark meat only, or a mix of both, and then with skin or without skin. I'm glad the bones are removed and chicken is sliced into bite sized pieces for easier eating. You can select 2 sauces to serve with it. The Thai Ginger Garlic Soy sauce was savory and tangy. You NEED to get the Ginger Scallion Oil sauce! Super aromatic and delicious, I can put this on anything. I liked that they came in small plastic containers on the side, so you can decide how much to pour on or dip. It also comes with a house salad with carrots and sesame lime vinaigrette, sliced cucumbers, and cilantro, adding freshness. The fried shallots are crispy and a nice topping. The warm chicken broth soup was very flavorful and soothing. Easy to order and pay on the kiosk or online website. The pick up counter has a screen that shows the status of your order and you also get a text when it's ready. Fast service and casual atmosphere. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Conveniently located inside the Eat Up food court of 99 Ranch, so you can have a nice meal after grocery shopping.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Enter through the left doors to get to the food court and keep going all the way to the far left wall. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's also a good amount of seating in the food court if you wanted to dine in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of parking available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Huge portions for an affordable price. What a great combo meal. I will be back to get double of that Ginger Scallion Oil sauce!

Came back to this location for 2 times this month. Ordering online was easy. The staff there are always very friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Location inside ranch 99 is good too since I can also shop while I wait.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But parking can a difficult at times. The grilled chicken this time was good . Also got my usual Hainan chicken. The only thing I wish they have an option for is for the side veggies. As Chinese, I prefer cooked veggies instead of salad. So that is what I would change if I have a choice. Having some cooked broccoli or choy sum would be great! And this is what I did after I got home. I added some cooked broccoli to my box.

Hainan chicken with rice to go!

One of the best Hainan chicken places in east bay! We love getting the Hainan chicken + rice with the ginger scallion and soy garlic sauces. The chicken is cooked well and not dry like other places and the rice is flavorful. It also comes with a chicken broth which complements the entree well. We also tried the chicken katsu with curry and that was also a hit. The chicken was crispy and tender inside. The curry is a Japanese curry so it's a bit sweeter but very hearty!

Chicken Meets Rice always hits the spot whenever you're feeling like having some hearty chicken and rice! Our usual order is the mix of dark and white meat chicken with skin, chicken rice, and all the fixings with Ginger Scallion Oil & Singapore chili sauce. However, we recently just tried their Chicken Katsu Curry which is for a limited time. What's super awesome is that you could also get chicken rice with this! I've never had chicken katsu curry with chicken rice before, and this was just delicious. We asked for the curry sauce to be on the side, and it was nice and flavorful. You can tell that the sauce was home-made and had some of the chicken fat in it. Fat is flavor!! Our food came out piping hot as well, even though we came towards closing time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You could order via takeout through Yelp or also dine-in, to which there is plentiful seating in the 99 ranch food court.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Raw - Hainan Chicken Box (GF)
    Ivy S.

Raw chicken. Got the Hainan Chicken with Thai Ginger Soy sauce. Things were going well until a couple bites in when the chicken texture got weird. I took a closer look and all my middle pieces were raw. I know Hainan Chicken and I know that chicken could be pink. But no, based on texture and the inability to easily shred, this was definitely raw. Now just hoping I don't get sick.

I tried the Hunan Chicken box which was delicious. I chose to have salad instead of rice and got half white and half dark meat with no skin. It came with a bowl of soup and a choice of side salad. I got the papaya salad. I finished everything as I was really hungry. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is located in a food court. The food court is nice and clean[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is restroom in the area and also water available for you to serve yourself next to Chicken Meets Rice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The chicken was very tasty and came with two sauces that you can pick. I got the Thai Ginger Soy Sauce and Ginger Scallion Oil, both were good. I would be come back to try other dishes! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is one of the nicest food court that I have been that is inside Ranch 99.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This is Singapore style Hoi Nam chicken . The cafe is located inside Ranch 99 food court . It is convenient, efficient and good service . Chicken is tender , fresh and delicious. It comes in a bento box with salad , chicken soup , lots of chicken and rice . You can choose your sauces ( soy sauce , spicy sauce , Singapore sauce , cooked minced green onion& ginger in oil , etc ) . I usually choose dark meat and two green onion & ginger sauce . You can also choose chicken flavored rice , brown rice or salad ( no rice ) . Price is $13.99 before tax . You cannot beat this price with such good quality of food and service . We come here often and you can try other options like deep fried wings and chicken. A hidden gem .

I ordered the Split Any 2 box with Hainan Chicken Box (GF) + chicken rice. The broth was yummy. The sauces were Ginger Scallion Sauce and Thai Ginger Soy. The Thai Soy was delicious with the rice! Great meal, fast service in the food court, and I would order it again.

Pearl Bay has high ceilings and a gigantic screen, and it seems like a lot of wedding banquets take place here. They have a hot deal weekday special that's $488 for a table of 10-12, and it was a lot of food. I think they limit it to a few tables a night. Service was not bad - they refilled ice water multiple times, which was surprising for a Chinese restaurant. That said, it would have been nice if they had actually announced what dishes we were getting. The menu included: - Chicken soup - Stir fried beef with vegetables - Cold marinated chicken and geoduck - Fish maw with pea sprouts and shiitakes - Fried egg tofu - Steamed fish - Twin lobsters with vermicelli - Suckling pig with steamed buns - Fried rice The highlight was the fish roe fried rice: great texture and flavor. Other things were variable in flavor. For example, the lobster was good, but the vermicelli texture and flavor were lacking. The banquet menu we got was good value and was more than enough food. I am definitely interested in trying their weekend dim sum.

One Piece Lamian specializes in Chinese noodle dishes, all with an efficient QR code ordering…read moresystem and super quick service. We started with the One Piece Mixed Salad (tofu skin, vermicelli noodles, woodear mushrooms, carrots, celery, seaweed, and peanuts, all mixed in a savory, acidic, and spicy dressed ) and the Shredded Potato Salad, both of which made for nice appetizers. We also had the Cold Skin Noodles (Liangpi), a bowl of wide, chewy noodles mixed with a savory sauce and topped with tofu puffs, shredded cucumber , bean sprouts, and a creamy sesame sauce. Hailing from Xi'an, the Braised Pork Pita Burger was fatty pieces of pork braised in a savory sauce, served in a dry round of "pita," but even better was the Spicy Cumin Lamb Pita Burger, which contained a tantalizingly spicy, flavorful filling of tender spiced lamb. The Signature Beef Bone Noodle Soup came with noodles in a simple broth, topped with three bone-in beef ribs. The meat on the ribs was rather tough and sinewy, and the soup on the bland side, but the presentation of the dish was definitely impressive. Finally, the House Special Braised Dry Noodle was a bowl of noodles topped with a savory sauce with lots of different dried ingredients including tofu, s mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, and red bell peppers. For each noodle dish, you could select from a variety of noodles, but my favorite by far was the 2cm "General Wide" noodles, which had an amazing chewy texture. Overall, this was a great restaurant for authentic Northern Chinese noodle dishes and other eats. Everything came out from the kitchen in just minutes after we ordered. The tasty dishes came at a good value, and the service was super friendly too!

There seems to have some menu change since the last time we came. We ordered 2 dry noodles and a cold spicy pig ears appetizer. The pig ears were piled up with no fillers - something hard to find these days. You can select the type of noodles so I picked the widest while my husband picked the middle one. I love the el dente texture of the noodles giving it a bit of chew. My braised pork belly dry noodles was not dry... very watery which was not to my liking. I want my dry noodles with as little gravy as possible. The flavor was light despite all the gravy, but the veggies and one egg made it up. The house special dry noodles had just the right amount of gravy for taste but not enough ingredients. I was wondering why the restaurant is called One Piece... I guess the entire bowl of noodles is one piece noodle as it was hard to eat as all the noodles are tangled. No complaints here just need to be careful with the splashes on your shirt. Overall the food was good, service was decent as we were offered actual menu instead of only using QR code to order. The place was not small with plenty of table. A bit noise as with all Chinese restaurants.
