For the lunch combo, the dish is served with either rice or noodles, a side of egg roll, and a choice of soup (hot & sour soup or egg flower soup). I've also tried their Honey Walnut Shrimp, Chicken Lettuce Wrap, and Fish with Hot Garlic Sauce. I've never been to the place in-person because I order through Postmates and DoorDash, but each delivery order is always on point and packaged very well. Historically speaking, some of the best Chinese food I've had has come from hole-in-the-wall places. Extra credit if said establishment is off the beaten path. So when, mid-Uber Eats pick up, I noticed KPB's irregular location a Dan Marino Hail Mary pass southwest of the Geezer's Sports Bar on Florence in Santa Fe Springs and its promising 4.4 star composite reviews, I felt encouraged to return post-delivery for my own takeout order. I tabbed the Orange-Peel chicken with hot & Sour Soup, steamed rice and an egg roll. Unfortunately for me, the stars of my meal turned out to be the soup. The soup was perfectly piquant, teetering on that pendulum between its spicy-sour poles. The egg roll was a soggy mess by the time I'd made it home. KPB Mgmt: Pls contemplate packing your crunchy items, like egg rolls for example, into a styrofoam or cardboard container with holes...so the steam doesn't turn the once crisp items into a limpid mess. I can attest from personal dining experience that the Asian establishments who package their items like this consistently deliver crunchy items. The orange chicken LOOKED fabulous, gorgeous lobster orange hue commingled with Szechuan red peppers, but in execution it lacked the crisp exterior and flavorful punch you're accustomed from well made orange chicken. Pro Tip- For $3 extra, KPB will augment your choice of entree w/ an egg roll and a bowl of soup. Now perhaps it wasn't my day, or perhaps I ordered the wrong entree, but when a hallmark item that is specifically cited on the menu for its crisp finish amd spicy taste ... then you hope the actual meal TASTES like that. I found this place on Google maps and saw it was in a peculiar spot, smack dab in a business park. Came here for lunch to celebrate my bday. How it works is you order your food then choose where to sit. I was confused with how to order because it's not your typical Asian spot where you can make a plate as you go. However next time I know to make a combo. What we did was we each ordered a plate and we just shared. The orange chicken was decent but could have been much crispier and was missing that bold sweet-and-sour flavor that usually makes the dish stand out. The walnut shrimp was a bit disappointing--slightly fishy and lacking the usual balance of crunch and sweetness. The mapo tofu brought the heat but missed the mark otherwise, as it didn't have the rich ground meat sauce that typically gives the dish depth and savoriness. Nothing was terrible, but nothing really stood out either. An okay option if you're nearby, but not somewhere I'd go out of my way to revisit. read more

Everything was fine except for the rice. It was dry and clumped together, and I have never seen rice in so many shapes on one plate. With every poke, the rice seemed to shapeshift. Watching it give a groundbreaking performance was absolutely not on my 2026 bingo card. Still, the place did leave a memorable impression. I had one recent experience that struck out to me and reminded me that I definitely need to write a review. I called last week and mentioned that my coworker and I were on our lunch break and asked if we can order ahead as we planned to dine in. I had the Orange peel chicken, and while it was very tasty, I wish it had a slightly deeper zesty tang that I've know other Orange peel chicken dishes to have. Otherwise, the chicken was tender, portions generous and fresh. I had the hot and sour soup and it was so much better than a lot of other restaurants I've ordered from. My sister ordered honey walnut shrimp, but with tofu replacing the shrimp. Their honey walnut sauce was delicious! And the walnuts had a nice, fresh crunch. So happy I found out this family owned restaurant is back in business. My father owned his business, seibu fasterners back in the early 2000s, 5 suits down from this restaurant.
