I called this Chili's and spoke to a female manager that a group of 12 people would be coming to eat the next day at 7 pm for my birthday. She said the hostess would be informed and a few tables would be set aside for us since it was such a big party. My entire party shows up at the restaurant at 6:45 and we're told they have no record of it, they don't take call aheads, and that it would be well over an hour wait. An incredible disappointment as well as a waste of time and energy for what was supposed to be a fun night.... not to mention a lot of business for Chili's. Thought it would get better once we got seated, but our waiter took a long time to get our order, would disappear for minutes at a time. Had to get up and get our own ketchup, high chair. Visited one of our old standbys from back in the day when there weren't so many choices. Still a great choice, you know what you are going to get, and no one has a greater menu or creativity than Brinker Int.. Used to visit their home office in one of my previous careers and they are serious about quality, creativity and marketing. Also they are reasonably priced. The two things that stand out as pros and cons is they are the King of Margaritas, the Market leader, The big Kahona, more great margaritas than any body else hands down but and a big BUTT to that, they have maybe too many choices. My wife Cakes is the Margarita fanatic in this family and she could not choose which one to order. Same thing could be said about the menu. She chose the Presidente and drank it too quickly and reordered the House, she agreed that would be the best and her pick in the future. Priced much cheaper, good, and more volume so a better value. I went with the Draft and the Lakewood Lager was great, first time to try it. Ordered a Dallas Blonde first but it tasted funny and sent it back. OK the one thing I always try to hammer in is the thing that makes all the difference in a pleasant dining experience is SERVICE, SERVICE, SERVICE, well value and creativity, AND prompt fresh food too. We had a GREAT server, her name is Courtney, she made the experience a memorable one. Chili's if your listening , she is a keeper. You need to cherish, nurture and encourage good help like her. I guess I could of gave them 5 stars but I seem to over rate and when We really have a remarkable experience it does not hold as much weight so I am trying to adjust. Plus we ended up just having the Three Appetizer plate that we used to call the Mambo Combo. Still rocking it. I haven't been to a Chili's in decades because the last time I went I had a bad experience (80's). Today I decided to give it a try. Big Mistake! Not only was the mushroom burger the greasiest thing I ever ate (only ate half because I try not to do overdo things) but the fries didn't come out for at least 10 minutes afterwards. Any waitress worth their salt should know that you don't bring out the side dish after the main dish. I ate 5 fries and left her a 1.00 tip. For those of you that want to scalp me saying it's not her fault - it's the cook's, it's also the business of the waitress to know that no one wants their side dish after the fact. On top of this the printer did not show the amount of the meal and they said it's been like this forever. I wrote on the ticket about the fries to let her know why I was leaving such a small tip. I usually tip between 20 and 25% percent as I was a bartender and I know that wait staff depends on tips. But customers also depend on good service. As the old adage goes, "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me". Chili's, you really need to update your menus and food to be more healthy and train your staff! I went with my family here and the woman there wasn't looking interested in her job and just sat us down a man assisted us and we didn't get our drinks until 20 min past by 7 minutes later he came back to ask us about the food it took around 10 minutes for him to get back with our food my family and I were starving our butts off and we ate and the man assisting us rarely came to check on us I was disappointed in how he rarely came and my father wanted a refill 30 minutes later he came back with the drink but when I looked around there was rarely any people there about the food my mother said that they didn't heat up the tortilla very good and my fathers food was the same as my mothers but it came out ok my brother didn't find the food really good but bitter and my food rarely had flavor and it was very dry I'm disappointed to know that it wasn't the way i expected to eat out with my family and many flat screen TVs that our waiter stopped with another worker to watch a basketball game in the screen for around 5 minutes rather than assisting anyone it wasn't that great but it wasn't that bad I love the technology they put into the place I had a fun time out with the family I could say. read more

had dinner @ Chili's in Casa Linda last night and was so disappointed! We ordered the $10 fajita special each and we are still wondering how you make pork carnitas with onions and green peppers have absolutely tasteless. All we could taste was the oil. The accompanying relishes, sour cream, a little grated cheese, pico, and salsa, was served in a foot long metal boat/tray that took up half of the two-person table/booth where we were seated. The tortillas were okay, but that was the highlight of the meal. Giving Chili's the benefit of the doubt and thinking maybe I was getting sick, thus no taste, I went to Manny's Tex-Mex on Abrams for lunch. That tasted like Mexican food! Chili's needs to stick to chicken crispers and burgers. They just can't do Mexican cuisine. A Mexican dish there is either just HOT (and hot is not a taste) or bland. No flavor. read more

I just wrote about Chili's in another post - about IN n Out burger. I have all but stopped going to fast food burgers. In n Out is supposedly one of the best burgers going - at least their growth rate would show that. The Old Timer kicks any fast food burger out of the water. It comes with fries. Grand total of $7. It is tough to go to a burger joint for less than $6. You don't think there is time - just order to go. It is even faster!!! Those to go parking places, help you get in and out. It really is a no brainer. Just a little thinking out of the box. Next time you are thinking you are in a hurry and need a tasty burger go for the Old Fashion - Awesome value. read more

I came here on the request of my kids since they had been wanting to try their burgers, and other sides that they've been seeing the commercials. And as a Father, all I want is to see the smiles on their faces as they're enjoying their time out of the house. As for the grownups, the experience was WHACK. From the get go, the hostess made us wait for at least 15 to 20 minutes to be seated in an almost empty restaurant. It seemed that the restaurant was going through a shift change or something...not quite sure. The staff seemed to be dragging ass...like they hated their job, (believe me, I wouldn't want to do this type of job either. But, if this is temporary type of job for you as you're waiting for your dream job to come true....at least take some pride on doing it correctly and with some positive vibe). Our waitress was courteous, and helpful on the selections of the menu. But, everything else fell apart form the ordering of the food. It took about 15 minutes to get our drinks...but for the sake of my kids, I decided to ignore this and keep a positive attitude. We got our appetizers shortly, they were greasy and somewhat bland. Our waitress seemed to be in another World...she was non-existing. We got more attention from other waiters that were attending other tables than our very own. Once our food was delivered by another waiter, we started to calm down a bit and make the best of our given scenario. What's funny is that this waiter could see my frustration on my face that she asked if she could do anything to make my evening a better one. What a sweat lady she was...that I just smiled back and told her that her concern had made me feel more at ease. The food was okay, it was bit greasy and it lacked freshness...it almost tasted like microwave type of food. I could of stayed at home for this type of food. Well, as our experience came to an end...I paid for our food and of course, I even tipped our lost waitress that only showed up to bring us the bill. We asked for some to go cups of tea and she gladly stated that they would come shortly. That shortly never came that we decided to just go. As we were exiting the restaurant, I could clearly see why our waitress was taking FOREVER to get our drinks. She was attending to her friends at the bar as if she was part of that event that was being held there. FU$% this Chili's...that's all I can say about this place, and their staff. Note: The ONLY thing that saved me from exploding is that they offer these games for .99 cents. Which kept my kids entertained or else they would have driven me crazy if they would be complaining about how long the food was taking to get to us. We were seated and didn't see our server for a while. When she did come she walked away from us while we were still ordering or speaking every time. She brought the wrong drinks every time, and one of those times my hisband took a drink, tasted it was tea and not coke he had, and then she PICKED UP THAT DRINK AND BROUGHT IT TO ANOTHER TABLE! The manager brought out our orders and mine was wrong (I ordered a crispy beef taco but got a beef enchilada) so I let him know what it should have been and a long time later he brings out a beef enchilada. I let him know it was still wrong and he argued that I didn't specify; I told him I did specify - twice now. My husband asked for sour cream and it necer came so we caught the manager and got some. A friend and I met there tonight for a business meeting. The food was was nice when we finally got to order. Honestly, the experience would've been better if we had a waitress that didn't neglect us. I understand waitstaff gets busy. I used to work in that area at an early part of my life. But when you take 20 minutes just to get a glass of tea.. And even longer for the food, that just becomes a completely bad experience. You could tell she was paying much more attention to other customers than to doing if evenly. An experience that should've taken 1 hour was stretched out to almost 2 and a half hours. When I was able to flag down the manager, I asked him how many tables does waitstaff here get? The manager said 8. (With no questions to follow up on like why do you ask) Even though the food was good the service was so bad to the point where I can't see myself ever going back to that location. First time at this location and it was a waste of time. We came in, and the hostess was no where to be found, there was a lady up front making the coloring packets, but she didn't acknowledge that we were there or even greet us or ask us our name. So we waited there for someone to greet us, we saw the hostess and she saw us but did not acknowledge us or even talk to us. Another couple came in and the same, no one talked to them, the hostess passed by the front again and didn't acknowledge either of us. So we sat there waiting, and at that moment (10 min after walking in) the lady packing the colors asks us the name for our party. I gave it to her but we were still here waiting (might I add there was plenty of tables and it was not busy or packed at all). The hostess passed us a third time (still not acknowledging us or their other couple, or the family of 5 that had just walked in) So, 20 minutes in, after seeing our hostess 3 times and still no table or a welcome or anything, we left and went to El Fenix. Don't waste your time here, floors are dirty and the staff is rude and improperly trained. I really don't like writing bad reviews, but I had to to warn others. The new menu is great. The service was a little slow, but it picked up when the lunch crowd dwindled. The queso and chips were delicious. It was a little salty for me, but my guests were fine with the taste. The southwestern egg rolls were cooked to perfection. The fresh new entrees are worth it. The tex mex chicken bowl is packed with good protein and fiber. The chicken is tender and flavorful. The red beans, corn, lettuce, tomatoes, and avocados were fresh and complemented the chicken very well. The rice was also cooked well. Our drinks were refilled right away. We usually enjoy our food and service at Chili's. However, we decided to come to this Chili's instead of the one closer to home. Big mistake. First off, when we walked in, employees were passing us and not saying anything. Finally, a waitress comes and sits us down. Another waitress with lime green nails comes up and rudely asks what we wanted to drink. She comes back with the drinks about 10 mins later and asks if we are ready to order. I tell her I want the 6 oz sirloin, cooked medium, she sighs loudly and rolls her eyes. I ignored it and went on with my order. Food comes about half an hour later. I cut into my steak and it is no where near medium. It is completely well done. She puts the food down and walks away without asking if we need anything else. I flag her down again and ask for steak sauce, which she brings but it was empty besides a few drops. Whenever I asked for more drink, she always acted like it was such an inconvenience to her and she acted like she hates working there. When we finished eating, she didn't even bother telling us how to pay but we figured it out. As she was clearing the table, she was looking at me putting a $0 where the tip was. She cleared the table and walked away, no 'thank you!' Or 'come again'. Definitely will not ever come back to this location. Hopefully they fix the staff issue here! read more

I came back to Chilis and HAD to post on Yelp just how impressed I left! For one, the manager greeted us with a very warm, friendly hello, while quickly seating us with a top waiter. She also helped answer my questions regarding my unused points. His name is Forest, and knew EXACTLY how to serve. His memory is impressive, (100%),and he answers questions before you even know to ask. I ordered the grilled salmon, with loaded mashed potatos, and tomato, garlic asparagus. I came starving, and left FULLy satisfied with ev-ery-thing! The manager then made a second round, checking in with our satisfication. I cannot say just how impressed I am with the positive changes Chilis has made. Their food is certainly made fresher, and larger servings. Thank you Chilis for the windrful service, food, and comfort, after a long hard work day! And ESPECIALLY for serving us AFTER 9 pm! You saved our day! read more

I'm kicking myself for thinking it would be any better the second time but I would definitely be careful when ordering any chicken dishes from this restaurant.
