I normally come here at least every couple of months, but tonight I came with a couple friends & was barely even greeted @ the door much less communicated to throughout the night. We were only checked on twice in an almost 2 hour period that we spent there, and when the food came out, it was almost like it had been sitting waiting to be served to us. Additionally, when the cookie skillet came out, it was extremely burnt & in every bite you could taste that. I understand that Chili's is a rather popular location & especially this one, but myself working in customer service, think that even then it could've been decent at most. Did a late night take out again...this time we didn't have to wait for our take out, we ordered ahead of time, but they did make a error on our order, so they had us come back another day for free dessert and a $10. coupon (plus is the manager was super accomodating and nice, we could not locate the order # on our online receipt and he was able to locate for us, if not we probably would not have had the dessert and coupon). We had the fajita combo chicken and steak with extra tortilla (this is what they forgot on our order), it was amazing just bummed we didn't get the extra tortilla. Santa fe salad was good, accept avocado was turning brown, then we tried the Eggrolls, it was okay, would not order again. We sat in the bar area. There was only one server manning the tables and he was not happy. He clearly did not want to be there. Barely a hello and then disappeared. Like I said, he was the only server so I understand the wait but I don't understand the lack of common customer service. When he finally came back, we fully ordered, appetizer, main, and drinks since we weren't sure when he was coming back. We watched as customers after us got served first and also watched our el President sit on the bar and get watery even though the bartender was not busy (help the guy out!). When we got the drink, the lid wasn't on well so when my husband shook it, it spilled out. Of course, no one noticed because our waiter was too busy and every other employee in the area were doing their best to avoid eye contact with the people in the bar area. Not even the hostess or hosts in the front turned to check the section. We used to love it there and hadn't been there in a while. The whole vibe there was different. Got here around noon so not to many people inside. Greeted right away and sat down. Haven't been to chilis in awhile so was excited to go with my wife after a morning of appointments. Food was good, we ordered bacon chicken ranch quesadilla, chicken fajitas, onion rings and white queso dip! Quesadilla was not that great but everything else was good! Bathrooms was HORRIBLE THO! Everything came off the bone well! I honestly liked the glaze; it had the perfect balance of sweet and smokey! I wouldn't mind getting this again! However, I thought it was kind of small for half a rack of ribs, and the price was a little expensive. **Chips & Salsa ~ 8.5/10 $6 bottomless chips and salsa? I'd say worth it. You can't go wrong with Chili's salsa. It has a little kick to it, but it was yummy! However, we wished that the chips were salted. **Roasted Street Corn ~ 10/10 This was my favorite; I could not stop eating this! Roasted to perfection, the corn was buttery, juicy, and a little spicy! Overall, Our server was wonderful, the food was decent, and the service was fast! Went Wednesday 11/20 and our whole group got sick from the food. Food took about 20 - 25 minutes to come out and time in between each meal as well. Ordered, medium well steak, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. Steak came out well done, mashed potatoes had a spoiled taste possibly from the cheese, broccoli was very dry. Mozzarella sticks unable to be eaten because spoiled taste in the cheese as well. Witches brew drinks tasted spoiled. Southwest rolls looked bitten out of. We ordered the chips with salsa and guacamole to start with three entrees. My burger was ono but the fries were crazy salty. The chips with guacamole and salsa came out after two of our the entrees. The third of our entrees was a kid's mac and cheese which came out 15 minutes after that. The chips we received were nothing but broken pieces. Ah, our neighborhood Chili's. Honestly, whoever their cooks are, they're pretty good. We've been coming for years obviously, but in the past year or so, the food has been *back* to very consistent and tasty, at least the way we like it anyway. Go sit in Kelly's section (the bar), she'll always take care of you. We miss the free chips & salsa and definitely can't/won't be back as often without it, but with this economy, I get it. I wish they would honor *some* of the rewards but it seems like an all or nothing deal where all of the Hawaii Chili's have pulled out of ALL of the rewards/benefits that mainland stores have. Oh well. It's close, there's always parking at the mall, it's a good spot to land for a burger or a steak or some apps. Also, it was pretty cold in the dining room on our last visit. Chilis is chilis. A standard fare of Tex Mex. The food is pretty uniform for all of them that I've been to. It's the cleanliness and service that separates them from each other. I've been coming here at kayaks for a good ten or more years. And I've seen great service to mediocre and down right terrible. Today a great bartender Shaye whom always has been exceptional. Chili's is HOT (Happy Opu Time) I just love coming out to the Kahala location, parking choices are just infinite and with the wide open table spaces you almost feel like you're the only ones there. Easy lunch spot as we got seated right away and had a nice cozy booth, got greeted by our server even though he was still finishing greeting his other two tables he got us some water and allowed us time to look over the menu. You're able to view their full menu by downloading the QR code provided on a laminated starter/drink suggestions information given to you by the host as soon as you're seated. Since I'm part of My Chili's Reward we're able to start with a free chips and salsa which is an enormous portion...munch munch much warm crispy yum!! Yes self restraint was tough but I did stop to order lunch and it was Mushroom Swiss Burger with Fries topped with sautéed onions, lettuce and tomatoes with a lovely shmear of garlic aioli made it the ultimate heavenly opu stack of happiness! I visited Chili's today around 2pm. When we first walked in, the host staff was very welcoming, but unfortunately our server made the experience uncomfortable. He was a heavier-set man with glasses. Early on, one of my friends asked for a kids' menu, and instead of simply answering, the server stared at her for a long moment, then said "no" before adding "just kidding." It came off as rude and awkward rather than playful. Later, when another friend accidentally misspoke while ordering, the server responded with "can you read?" which felt very disrespectful. Mind you we are 15,16, and 17. Finally, when it came time to pay, my friend asked for her change and the server questioned whether she "really wanted" it back. Every interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. Mistakes happen, but a server should never make guests feel disrespected. It's disappointing because the rest of the staff was kind! Four stars for the excellent customer service from the hostess and the server.. our food was more on the three star to three and a half star rating. My husband and I had to run an errand and decided to get an early dinner so we stopped here. The restaurant was pretty empty, so we were pretty happy that we didn't have to wait for a table. The hostess was really nice and sat us right after we finished filling out the contact information form. Our server was also really nice and helpful! Definitely one of the top servers we had. My boneless chicken wings were a little dry but tasted good.. especially after being dipped into the ranch sauce.
