With most chains, I'll typically write a "What more do you expect from a chain?" type review. Not for this place. Starting with the food, I went with the lunch special (soup and half sandwich). While the chicken enchilada soup was pretty good the half chicken, bacon and avocado sandwich left a lot to be desired. This was the first time I've ever been served brown avocado on a sandwich, and I eat avocado on almost every burger and sandwich I order. Needless to say, I was a little shocked. Then, I noticed that some of the leafy greens in the spring mix on the sandwich were wilted....not good. On this visit, I brought three coworkers along. Although we were the third group seated in an area of the restaurant, we were the fifth or sixth group served (and all parties were of equal size). Don't know what happened there. I don't like to blame the servers, as I felt like they were trying to do the best they could. I blame management for not hiring enough workers to handle a "lunch rush". It was a great dinner to celebrate my sister birthday. I was saddened to learn that Chili's no longer serves their fresh table side chips and guacamole. It is now prepackaged with tomato and onions (yuck) because I don't like onions. I tried their new chili tacos and they were just ok nothing to special about them. Had dinner here 1/10/19. Awful experience. Chili's is normally my go too. But food took 1:15 minutes appetizers came out at different times. We even took our dessert to go. We asked them to separate but they managed to mess this up too. I love chills, I would always go to the redlands location but with COVID it was closed a lot so we would drive to hospitality. This spot is becoming my new favorite! This has to be the worst chili's experience I have ever had. I visited this location on 8/8 and had horrible service. After being seated it took about 15 minutes before we even had a server offer us water. When I asked for a straw, I waited another ten minutes before I got one. My friend and i ordered the same plate with the same instructions and my pasta was served dry with no sauce. I also ordered soup that was served clumpy. When I asked for sour cream it took it took 20 minutes before a server came back with no sour cream. By then my food was going cold so I just ate it. I think there were too many servers for our table to have such horrible service. Didn't even know who to tip at the end, if they should even get one. The curbside pickup is a joke. Waited for my food at the time it was supposed to be ready. Had to get off after waiting 15 extra minutes. I prefer to get off but curbside or delivery are the only options. Got my food it was cold, missing rice and the smallest pieces of chicken I ever saw. I called and was told they were out of rice. Got transferred to talk to someone else, held 10 minutes and hung up to eat my already cold food. The system should not let you order and item that they are out of and u should be offered another item,since I was charged the same price. The 10.99 is crap it should be 5.99 . Chili's Serve The Best Drinks Unlike Applebee's That Serve Watered Down Juice For Drinks!

Once my Coachella '07 road trip crossed into that fabled land known as SoCal, a persistent craving awoke in my gut... Mexican food, man. Not like I can't get pretty decent Mexican in San Francisco. But I don't eat it often, because of all the special ordering with my no-meat, no-cheese rules, blah blah blah... I just don't bother. Too much work, and it's never what I want it to be in the end. But I so often hear from throngs of former Los Angelans and San Diegans up here how "the farther south you go, the better the Mexican food gets." I guess I just had it on the brain. Once I saw palm trees, I couldn't stop thinking about it. Give me Mexican -- even without meat, or cheese! SoCal Mexican! Give me SoCal Mexican, or give me DEATH! (Uh, which by the way was a totally plausible scenario, seeing as it was 110 degrees in Indio on this particular trip. Fuck.) None of my road trip companions were into Mexican, the entire trip. Seriously. I tried my trademark subtlety (don't laugh; I'm subtle), and got nowhere. Then, while driving home, through San Bernardino, an opportunity presented itself. It's 12:30. Everyone is hungry. We need to stop for lunch. Where to? CHILI'S. W. T. F. That's where they all wanted to go. I could not win on this one. I had my delicious SoCal Mexican meal on the brain, and these dudes wanted to eat chainy, unhealthy, uninteresting, overpriced, "Southwestern" crap. God love 'em. We actually had to Google Chili's on Steve's Blackberry to find the nearest location, once they all got a craving for some baby back ribs... (okay, no one actually had ribs, but you get the point) And when we found the nearest location, we discovered it wasn't open for another two weeks (thanks for putting that little tidbit on your pre-recorded directions, BTW, Chili's!). We then proceed to get back on the highway and get lost for another half-hour looking for the NEXT nearest one. That there are two even THAT near each other means there's something very wrong with the people of San Bernardino. What's good about this place? Hmm... They had running water, which allowed me to brush my teeth after camping in the desert for four days. Oh, and the waitress was nice. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure I can grill a piece of salmon, steam some vegetables, and cook some black beans that would be five times more flavorful, three times more interesting to look at, still be "guiltless," and wouldn't cost me $20. Next time, I'm throwing subtlety to the wind. I'm going to support the REAL Mexicans of San Bernardino county! read more

At first I was reluctant to write a review, because I was embarrassed that I even came here. I was driving my grandma around, we were both very hungry and she had to use the bathroom. This Chili's is right next to the frwy exit and I figured they had to have soup, after all, she is in her 80's. They had two soup choices, she chose the Santa Fe/southwest chicken. I didn't want to be disappointed, so I kept it safe & simple with the hamburger. It was a bbq style one with bacon, chz, and an onion ring. Instead of typical fries I asked for a veg or fruit option, since there was an extra charge for a small side salad, wtf? Broccoli was their only veg option. The food took a while, but it was lunch time, so fair enough. As soon as our server brought our food & left, I touched the top of the bun. It was cold, not hot, not warm, or even room temp, but cold! The broccoli was cold too, and salted after it was cooked and brought out, I could actually see and feel the salt grains. Again, wtf!? Then I noticed my poor grandma making an odd facial expression. "Que pasa?". She told me the soup was extremely salty, but that she would eat it anyway because she was starving by this time. So I tasted it, and guess what? It was a bastard salt brine. This, from a guy who likes salt. Because I knew that they would just nuke my food, I just dealt with it. I asked if they could bring her the other soup option, which came in 2 minutes and was not as salty, but still very salty. As my grandma was finishing her soup, she mentioned that this was the first time in her life that she ordered soup at a restaurant, and not it did NOT come w/ either bread or crackers.....she's like 90 yrs old u know! I asked for the check immediately, I politely asked about the bread/cracker mystery, and was told that "you have to request that, when ordering soup". My s/o works here and I'm late to work everyday because there is 2 managers that play favorites here and I can tell. Everyday my s/o is supposed to be off at 4 but can't and has to wait bc 2 of their co workers are always late by 30 minutes to an hour EVERY DAY. I've worked for chilis before and I know there's a three strikes your out but this has been happening for a year how they should both be fired by now if they are late it's not my s/o fault they need to go so I can get to work on time. I believe one of the names of the managers that's playing favorites (and honestly kinda slightly racist sounds weird but trust me) his name is Noe I believe and the other I'm not too sure but it's a kinda short Mexican man the other managers are usually so nice but these two are so mean and need to frie those two employees already for always being late. The food was order perfect and we did not have a long wait from placing order to it being brought out to our table even though we had a larger group. Went here for dinner last night with some friends. They were really busy but the service we received did not suffer. Our waiter tended to us pretty good, keeping our drinks filled and getting to us for our order in a timely fashion. I had a cheese burger and it was pretty darn good. My friends said their food was good too. We were here for lunch with family last week. We normally go to the Barstow (Lenwood) Chili's and usually have the soup/salad combo; the food and service there is always fine. Here in SB both were even better! My partner and I had the two for $20 steaks; they were excellent. The kids had kids' menu selection, and were happy with them. Our server, Lauren, was prompt, efficient, and attentive, as well as friendly. His colleague, Michael, also checked on us regularly. Although the restaurant was quite busy, winding down from lunch, there were no delays. Refills were prompt and "just in time". Couldn't ask for better. I came here at the end of summer 18' before attending Nocturnal Wonderland. I came by myself and wanted a drink and some food and needed to kill an hour before arrival at the event. This Chili's was great. The servers were nice and the people around me were nice. I felt weird being there alone, but I do have to thank you. I want to thank you because If I didn't arrive at that specific time at the event, I wouldn't have met my now current best friends. never write reviews but damn our waiter was so bad, we decided to go try chilis for the first time and our waiter Christina was just horrible, rarely checked on us and when she did she had hella attitude with us and only us, clearly seemed targeted and this service/ experience was clearly her being racist cause we were the only mexicans that she was serving and she didn't check on us while she checked frequently on the other people in her section. we never had an experience like this it is absurd and disgusting, not only did she not check on us but she never took the dishes/cups that we did not need, at the end we paid on the tablet as she never came with the check, we were leaving and she made it seem like we were about to leave without paying. absolutely disgusting and rude. really regret leaving a tip because she was just horrible. read more
