James the waiter was great. Very personal and full of insight. James was honest with recommendation and suggestions on the menu. To start we had the chips and guacamole. The guacamole was not bad the chips are pretty thin and on the salty side. We each ordered a beer and instead of bringing one large glass they brought out 2 6oz glasses so one got warm while you drank the other For dinner my girlfriend has the tacos: fish taco was a kick in the back end but a nice sauce to complement it. The prime rib taco is great. The addition of avocado is not something I would normally expect to see but was pleasantly surprised, carnitas taco had lots of flavor but is missing a sweet element like mango. I had the 6oz field with avocado. I ordered the steak medium well and it was served medium to medium rare. Chili's is probably my favorite branded restaurant. This one in particular, is conveniently located in the Palisades Mall, right across from AMC Theater. We had dinner here prior to seeing a movie. The waiter was very nice and attentive, friendly too! The menu here seemed different from other Chili's I've been to, but the food was yummy, as always. I really like the little tablets at the tables, as it's easier to order more food and to check out. An overall awesome time and great good. read more

If I could give no stars I would. The only positive thing I would say was the server was polite and checked on us after serving. My daughter enjoyed her double burger. Terrible, over salted food. Queso dip was chalky, and had unrecognizable chunks floating around, it was delivered to our table within 60 seconds or so of us ordering it in an empty restaurant. I wonder how long ago it was microwaved.... the tortilla chips were so salty they were cringe-worthy. I ordered the chicken taco lunch special with a side of fresco-salad & the fries come-with automatically. The "fresco" salad was anything but fresh, with soggy, old, wilted lettuce that I couldn't stomach. Obviously very old lettuce, I wouldn't have served my family at home. The chicken tacos themselves had BROWN avocados slices on top, which I took pictures of and removed, not to mention they also were very salty, a seemingly-ongoing theme. The fries were the only tasty part of my lunch, thankfully because I hadn't eaten all day and had to make the best out of a really bad experience. While writing this the manager came to my table, a good while after I had paid the check and could have easily left the restaurant. He explained he had been doing the cooking. Scary. He was apologetic but justified his use of salt because the food, chips in particular didn't have taste without it. Again- scary. If you don't mind bad produce and over-salted food, this is your place. My advice is skip it. read more

This is alllllll my fault. I should've known better to eat at the mall. I was honestly better off with the food court. Everything was pretty horrible, from the deadpan confused host, to our meal. The meal was really crappy - chips that came with my guac were like crumbs (guac was not bad), to the ribs and mashed potatoes --- ribs had a propane taste to them, and mash was almost cold. The best part of our meal was the dessert, the Salted Caramel Molten --- pretty darn amazing. Server was not bad... mainly a food issue. its a hit or miss, depending on the day..When its really busy, they are on point, when there is room to spare, it seems to me that the service declines and the food does not taste as good. I have been to other chili's and they seem to have something to make want to go back, no matter how bad the service is. The food is great, way better than the Bee's and TGIF. Great place to come after a LOOONG day of shopping. I've been here twice, both on weekend nights, and I didn't have to wait for a table either time. The waiter service was fast and efficient. The food was DELISH. Try the classic nachos with beef for appetizers. I love that each nacho comes prepared separately and there's no mess! Also, ask for the Corono Margarita. Come on Chili's - get it together! My experience wasn't fun the last time I was here. The manager sat my mother and I near the bar and showed us how to access the gluten free menu from the disgustingly filthy POS computer they sit on the tables. After cleaning the little computer with my own hand wipes, I scrolled through the computer with my mother to find the allergen section. There was a plethora of "gf options". I ordered ribs and chicken, my mother ordered tacos on corn tortillas. The meal comes, my mothers food is on wheat flour tortillas. We mention this to the waitress and she immediately starts blaming the kitchen. VERY horrid tact that is. My mothers meal comes out 15 minutes later after I had already finished and packed up my food. Basically my mother stared at me while I ate and she starved sitting there with no food. Then I stared at her while she ate after I finished my food. It was a very bad experience. The manager comes over to apologize and tells us our bill is ready on the "computer". They didn't comp her meal or give us a free dessert, something to take away the amount of annoyed we were. Nope, nothing. Just a bill with our expensive, mediocre food that didn't come out right. The computer froze after 10 minutes of trying to get it to work so the waitress had to take my card and process my payment. After we arrived home we both started feeling not so good. For 2 days, both my mother and I had terrible stomach pain. I believe what they make might BE gluten free but it is not processed or prepared gluten free. This Chili's in Palisades mall has the distinction of having the absolute worst food and service of any restaurant. Food is always served ice cold . Whether it's a burger or Bar bq. Service is non existent. They never, repeat never have more then one wait person servicing the entire restaurant. Was always bad but has gotten much much worse. I walked in with a party of five and we were served after a party that came after us. I ordered nachos as an appetizer and it was so small and could barely be split between two people. I also ordered a patron margarita for happy hour ... Don't wast your time, it taste like juice After we ordered he told us the frozen ones had more after we all ordered on the rocks When our meals did come out it was cold The Mac and cheese tasted a little off The chicken strips were skimpy The waiter didn't clean up our drinks when we finished nor did he offer water we had to request it. After watching a movie, my family and I decided to have dinner here- not the best choice in the Palisades but had to go along with the fam. We are seated promptly as it is a Monday night and the waitress is fairly quick... at first. After placing our orders and having gotten our food, our waitress just magically disappeared. She never came to check up on us nor did she bother to ask if we needed anything else. My parents were unhappy with the asparagus that was brought out with their dish, and I do not blame them because it looked like dried up grass, and since we couldn't find our waitress we called over a different waiter. He was very helpful and offered to get us a different side dish and said that he always tells his tables to not get the asparagus because it is not appealing. That would've been good to know in the beginning from our own waitress right? Well one star is for him. The second star? My dish was actually pretty good. I ordered the pasilla chile chicken and I really thought it was flavorful and the corn and quinoa sides were delicious. Why no more stars? Everything else on the table sucked. My parents ordered the ancho salmon and it was very bland and dry and the asparagus sucked. Also back to my waitress: when we are finished we are waiting for her to come take our dishes and give us the check, but she is too busy chatting with another waitress. I literally had to get out of my seat and walk over to her to get her attention. So that is why it gets 2 stars. You're better off going next door to yard house. read more

I'm not a huge fan of Chili's but they're consistent and I'll give them props for that. My wife and I used to live in Austin so we've been going there off and on for years. When I travel, I'll sometimes stop in. Usually lunch. The one in the mall opens at 11am and many other's don't open till later. It's been a bit since I have been at this one and ate lunch on a crowded Friday. Menu is predictable with lot's to chose from. I had pick two for $8 special (soft tacos), they were ok. My wife an an Oldtimer burger and they do a pretty good job with that. It's expensive and I get it that the mall keeps prices up but $35 for lunch seemed a bit much. Nothing too crazy don't have like high expectations but it's a decent fast restaurant with a decent staff. Our waiter KJ or TJ something like that he was great and fun when he came up I came on a Monday with 4 friends. There were very under staffed it was only two waiters handling everything. It was empty but still, only two. They did a decent job though for it to be not them. Our waiter was fun and lively. Our waiter didn't come by to check on us until 20 minutes after. At that point I didn't even want a new one, because we had already waited so long. This is my first time at chili's and while I came with high hopes, i will be going back with none. First of all, i ordered the honey chipotle shrimp and sirloin MEDIUM. My food comes out, there is no juice on the steak, the steak looked like it was sitting out for at least 20 minutes. I asked the waittress to take back my food and the second time around, same stale steak. Then the manager came over to say that the waittress grabbed the wrong steak and brought me the "right" one for it to be again WELL DONE. At this point we had waited for an hr and 45 min. I ate half the steak (couldnt even eat the asparagus because it was drenched in salt). second of all, my boyfriend ordered the prime rib burrito or whatever and the cheese was all hard and solid (prob sitting out like my steak). So he sent it back for a burger for the meat to be completely rare and red. This was a horrendous experience and i will definitely not be returning. They didn't even offer to take an entree off the check. Apologizing for being understaffed is understable however getting the order wrong 2-3 times is unacceptable. read more

This visit could have been better. We frequently visit this Chili's and have not experienced service like this before. I would have to chalk it up to how busy it was that Saturday evening. Our server seemingly forgot about us several times. The manager delivered the food for four members of my party, yet the meals for my daughter and I came out about ten minutes later thanks to another server. Had to ask for refills. Guess the sound of the straw in an empty cup was not a concern. When I asked for a doggie bag to pack the remaining food and for my check, Nathan forgot us again and I had to remind him. Hopefully our next visit will be better. Nevertheless, the food was good. We were able to enjoy ourselves and get back to our shopping trip. This new smokehouse meal is poor for lack of better words. The commercial gives it more credit than it deserves. The chicken lacked flavor and then the bbq sauce looked like it was just smeared on there last minute. The fries tasted burnt,the sausage which I looked forward to most was not well done like I requested. The cheese that was inside gushed out into your mouth. It was not a good mixture. The corn was the only decent thing on my plate. I do not recommend this meal at all it needs to be removed asap. If u want good smokehouse go to bailey's in Orangeburg or dinosaur bbq in Harlem or Newark nj. Thank me later. Chili's you failed just like when u took away the paradise pie from the desert menu. We didn't have a waiter because he left and no one told us. The manager took our order and made the staff check in on us. We went recently again and had a poor experience. We had a waitress, who was slow and rude. We didn't get our salads or chips till minutes before our food came. She had a bad attitude. She didn't check on us. Went here with some friends late tonight and have to say, while the food was good, the service was not worth it. I understand it was kinda late, almost 9pm on a weeknight, but the floor looked really dirty and it was not that busy, so what are the employees Doing, cause it is definitely was not cleaning. We sat down and it took about 10-15 minutes for the waitress to come get our drink orders! While the food was pretty good for chain food, the service was just awful. It took way to long for the food to be brought out! Although the waitress was good with refilling my water. I also don't like that they push the use of the little machines at the table to pay with credit cards. A lot of people touch these things all day, who knows if they put skimmers on it, and since its obvious the staff doesn't really clean, I highly doubt they check the machines too. read more

Despite an occasional negative reputation of the chain restaurant "Chili's", I was pleasantly surprised with the punctual and delight service my teammates and I were given. Rob, our server, supported my love for bottomless chips and guac. Deemed worthy of five stars almost immediately upon entry with a lovely unnamed greeter. Will probably not return to location as not in the area often but I'd given the opportunity would be happy to return. Shopping with my wife is so laborious, but it is a necessary chore for a successful marriage ("Happy Wife, Happy Life"). Fortunately this convenient Chili's location saves the day. Before we shop, I simply offer to take my wife out to lunch at Chili's. A few El Presidente Margaritas later and shopping doesn't seem so burdensome anymore. This is the 2nd time being here and this rating is simply reflecting my visit here last night. First off, since it was a weekday and about 8pm at night the place was pretty empty. We were seated right away and given menus. It took our server like 10 minutes to acknowledge us; after taking our order our appetizer and drinks came rather quickly. I wasn't aware that the guacamole had jalapenos; 2nd time in the past week. The nachos were hot so were definitely tasty. Our food took about 15 minutes though and all we ordered was a burger and chicken crispers. My boyfriend's meal was right on target; the bacon was crispy and the burger well done ... mine on the other hand was completely wrong. I had ordered the "crispy honey chipotle chicken crispers" but instead just got chicken crispers. I was already upset that it had taken forever and even more upset that my order was wrong. The lady who had brought our food out was called over to our table and I explained the situation, she had said our server got the order wrong and would replace it ... I then stated I didn't want to wait another 15-20 minutes for it so I stayed with what they sent me. Our server then came by our table when we were almost done to ask us how we were doing; I simply nodded and hinted to my boyfriend that this time there would be no tip. I am going out to a place like this to get good food and service ... if one is lacking we have a problem. I might come back here ... I might not. They get a solid 3 stars from me. read more
