First time here, surprisingly. We're always in the area but have never stopped in this strip. We were in the mood for Chinese mood and decided to try this place. The food was good. Loved the appetizers we ordered, especially the shrimp toast and green beans. Highly recommend. I ordered the salt and pepper shrimp for my entree as I wasnt feeling too hungry, and that was a sufficient serving if you're looking for something that you can eat by yourself as all of their plates are designed to be family style. Was not a huge fan of the Mongolian beef. I can't explain why. The sauce just wasn't ny thing. That said, I feel like they would make excellent leftovers reheated over the stove with some chili oil sauce. Our server, Josiah, gave very good recommendations. Service in general was on point and we were seated quickly, which was nice as Friday nights in studio city can be hit or miss. read more

Ordered delivery here and got the Chinese chicken salad and the veggie egg rolls. I'm usually skeptical of buy one get one free but I very much enjoyed their West Hollywood location when it was open so thought I'd try their valley location. Well the salad was pretty much just lettuce with two tiny strips of chicken. No flavor or protein with way too much lettuce and fried wontons. Their veggie egg rolls tasted bland and the apricot dressing that it comes didn't help it at all. Since I got a bogo I got two of everything -- the second helping is sitting in my fridge, but tbh, it'll most likely be in the trash soon. I suggest you skip chin chin (their delivery anyway) and go to a mom n' pop Chinese restaurant. read more

Everything went perfect. We arrived for a birthday celebration lunch ans got seated right away. We got a nice big booth for the four of us. Shaun was our super nice waiter and got us our drinks. We then. Ordered all our favorites as we have been coming here for about 35 years. Its clean and the food is i would describe as California style Chinese food. The flavors and taste of each dish is spectacular. I ordered pork pot stickers. We each ate a few. So good with a sweet orange sauce or a tangy soy sauce. I also ordered orange chicken my favorite. It comes with different crisp cooked peppers and it is delicious. We also got an order of Chinese Chicken Salad and it was BIG and delicious. We all ate some and still had some left. We got Beef with Broccoli and the meat was sumptuous and flavored so well and covered in some sort of shiny sauce. We also got green beans that had been cooked in oil with little tiny pieces of garlic and pickles. So good! And because we were having a birthday we were brought a plate of fresh fried churros stuffed with creamy yummy stuff. Two types of sauce for dipping ...chocolate or strawberry and we all enjoyed those. At the very end Shaun brought us fortune cookies. All I all a great meal. Another server named Roy was also very sweet and kind and helped bring all the food out. The restaurant was on the second floor of a tall building on Ventura Blvd just west of Laurel Canyon Blvd. It was not far off the 101 freeway so easy to get to. read more

My boyfriend brought me here for a date night and it was amazing. We got here early so not too many people were here which got us a prime spot overlooking the neighborhood. The waitress was so nice and attentive. We ordered edamame and garlic chili crisp wontons to start. I liked the edamame but the garlic chili crisp wontons were the star of the show. I absolutely loved them, 100/10 I'm craving them now as I write this review. I also ordered a glass of prosecco and my boyfriend got a beer. Both were delicious. For the entree I ordered the dan dan spicy noodles and they were also really good. It was definitely way too much food but the left overs made a great second meal. Took a random look at Uber Eats suggestions for Chinese food and this did not disappoint. Tucked away on the second floor overlooking Ventura Boulevard. Parking is easy the service here is amazing. I received an email for an offer of buy one get one fried rice but of course, there was an error with the order (not the fault of this specific location). So I ended up going with their Korean chicken which I had at their Sunset location prior to closing, and an order of their furikake fried rice. Never been to this location but vaguely remember seeing it from Ventura. I did see a small parking lot downstairs but it looked full so I had to park a little further down, no big deal. Chin Chin is located upstairs and I went up the 'wrong' stairway which had me walking down the side to finally get to the correct door. Food was ready to go and I was on my way. Packaged well, utensils as requested, so no complaints there. Overall, this was fairly good, decent portion so there was enough for at least one extra meal. There was a large container with a small amount of sauce, and it was Really good! I had this chicken before but it didn't have this sauce addition so I'm not sure what happened the first time around, but this was delicious. Interesting thing is this chicken sans sauce tasted a lot like TAO's version of orange chicken-down to the sesame seeds-but for a lot less ($21 vs. $38). Sole complaint I have-again, not the location at fault-is that I could have gotten a side of this furikake rice for $6 instead of paying $12 for a full portion due to the wording of the online ordering being fried or steamed. I realized after the fact that the general menu has them being the same, yet online it specified steamed over fried which will throw off someone such as myself. The description should be the same across the board, especially for online ordering. Otherwise, even though it's less than TAO, it's still rather expensive for what it is, but it was enjoyable. I wish they still had the dishes I liked so long ago (gift wrapped chicken, etc.) but those are long gone. Hoping I can find some new favorites- read more
