We decided to try this establishment on a Friday evening after seeing a Facebook post about supporting local family owned businesses along with the rave reviews it received during the Pandemic. Boy o boy and I glad we tried this establishment, the entire staff that we interacted with (3, rest were in kitchen) were as pleasant and friendly as could be. You could tell they were happy to see and serve their customers. The interior is small but not tiny. The decor is really nice and inviting. Their menu is quite extensive, so you have a lot of choices. We opted for the steamed dumplings (8 pieces per order) as an appetizer and they were tender, piping hot and served with a tasty dipping sauce. My friend chose the Mongolian Beef w/steamed rice, my boyfriend chose the Seafood Delight w/ steamed rice and I chose the Hot & Spicy 3 Delight w/fried rice. All 3 dishes were served family style although 1 dish could've probably fed all 3 of us, since 2 of us had plenty of leftovers for another meal or 2! I also placed a to-go order of their large Hot & Sour Soup and 2 egg rolls for my son. (When I got home the food was still piping hot and the bag itself was packed so smartly by placing a flat cardboard slat in the bottom to help keep the soup from tipping and allowed the egg rolls and addl. condiments for the soup placed next to it). The food was great and the service was even better. This really is a friendly family owned business that truly appreciates their customers and their business. Although, they weren't "packed" for a Friday evening, they did have several customers dining in; however, I was happy to see they had numerous to-go/takeout orders. So their business is there, but probably not on the scale they were used to pre-Covid. We arrived at 6:30, the AC was off so the place was warm until two other tables were seated then they decided to turn on the AC. Waitress standing in front of us waiting impatiently for us to read the menu so she can take our order. By 8:15 pm (the place supposed to be open until 9:00) the cashier asked us to pay our check. I had a solid four star experience here and for Chinese food in San Antonio, I'd say that was pretty freaking awesome. Friday night and we were seated right away in a clean booth with a clean table...nice start to a weekend, right? Right. We decided to start with the beef teriyaki appetizer which came with a mini hotpot to cook our beef on. It was so fun to barbeque our own beef and add that with the crunchy, fresh cabbage underneath the beef and it was delicious. Besides the egg rolls, I'd definitely choose this as an appetizer again. We also ordered two California rolls with extra cream cheese and they were phenomenal. The avocado and crab was crisp and tasty and we liked it so much that we ordered another one to eat during our main course. Our main course was an order of the General Tso's with fried rice and the broccoli beef with steamed rice. I love love loved the fried rice. It was wonderful. We also ordered the pepper steak which came with small chunks of steak with chopped up pieces of broccoli in a creamy pepper sauce. Devoured that in minutes. Highly recommend. They have pretty decent Asian beer at Chin's. I would definitely get the Asahi with your sushi. It is the perfect accompaniment to a California roll. I ask for hot oil and he made such a big issue that I didn't ask for it when I placed the order that when I asked for some he started to mouth back at me instead of just saying; yes sir I'll get some for you. I'm always skeptical of getting Asian food in an area that doesn't have a big Asian population so I was pleasantly surprised that the food here was quite good. We had the chicken curry which was a little closer to Indian curry in flavor, but the ingredients were still Asian (e.g. Baby corn and water chestnuts). Mapo tofu is one of my favorites but they didn't have it on the menu so I asked and they said they could make it. Not only did they make it, but it was actually the best Mapo tofu I've ever had. The tofu tasted fresh and the sauce was tangy and spicy with just a hint of sweetness. Yummy! We also usually expect pretty bad service in Chinese restaurants (when they're run by actual Chinese) but at this one, everyone was really nice and attentive. I didn't get to try the sushi but I walked by the sushi counter to check out the fish. The color of the meat looked good and fresh. The sushi chef said they get fish from Japan via Houston a few times a week so I guess it will depend on what day you come as to how fresh it will be. read more

Where do I begin. Quality of ingredients are mediocre at best. Probably the worst crab rangoons ive ever had in my life...how do you mess those up?? Well you make them dry and super hard like thos restaurant does! Menu online has reasonable pricing, which gets people in the door only to find out that each dish is $2.00 more than menu indicates (of course this info is given once youve been seated. This restaurant serves our very favorite Chinese food. We live in Cibolo and get the food here at every opportunity. Our go-to's are Broccoli Chicken and Pork Fried Rice. The Chicken Broccoli sauce is divine. I find the portions generous and I love their egg rolls. I feel you really know how a Chinese restaurant food is going to be by their egg roll. We have been frequenting this place for the past 8 years and I am so happy that they were so well supported during COVID and remains open for business. The location has an easy access. The plaza is clean and in a nice area. Ambience walking in is very soft. We really enjoyed the gentle classical music and the clean environment. The restaurant is small but not crowded with tables. The tv on the wall is not invasive and loud. They have a sushi bar and very soft spoken, polite waiters and waitresses. That being said , we ordered Mongolian chicken and the Lemon chicken dinner combos. The egg-drop soup, eggroll, tea, and crab ragoon were absolutely spot on perfect. The fried rice needed something more. It wasn't oriental tasting or textured, but something like the Spanish rice texture. The chicken in both plates was pounded which I prefer but it was slightly overcooked, so halfway through the meal the chicken turned to rubber. It's a sad thing the chicken turned out rubbery because everything else was perfect. Oh yes, the Lemon sauce actually tasted like lemon, but it had the smell of the international store where they bought the ingredients. I'd love to return if they fixed the chicken issue. The taste is really good though. I think I'll try the beef meals. I think they deserve a second chance. read more

Mood is somber among staff though they are efficient. The menu is typical Chinese American with a limited sushi selection. Ordered the caterpillar roll on this being my first visit and was not disappointed. Has regular mayo and spicy mayo, I suggest deleting the regular mayo. The shrimp tempura was very good but the staff (sushi chef) dark mood and cold responses to the my sushi question put a damper on the dining experience. The food was not all that great. The fried rice was extremely dry and nasty. This place have the worse rice in the whole San Antonio. The sushi was good but the chef kept coughing everywhere. Good food, but not extraordinary. I've had this place bookmarked for a couple months now, and have been looking forward to it. We recently moved to San Antonio and haven't found a staple Chinese place yet like we had back home in California. I was going to order ahead of time, but decided to walk in and order instead. Had to wait a little longer than I had planned (almost 40 minutes), but that was my own fault for not calling in. We ordered the orange chicken, broccoli beef, and combination lo mein. All of which was very tasty, but nothing blew us away. I'm definitely going to give this place another try, but next time will eat at the restaurant. We look forward to trying some of the sushi next time, and will hopefully be writing a better review with some pictures. read more

Not so good. We waited long enough to consider leaving and then the hostess came out to seat us. We got the egg drop soup as the reviews said that it was really good. I would say that it was okay. The viscosity of it moved a little like Jello but we ate it anyway. For the entree, I ordered the moo goo gai pan. It was very bland and the sauce was that same Jello like consistency. My wife got the beef and mushroom dish. It was very salty and the beef was stringy. The egg rolls were good, unfortunately, one was cold.
