There were 4 cookies available today and all 3 we had were winners and are generously-sized. All were fresh and warm when we picked them up. My Oatmeal Apple Pie was spot on. It's literally an oatmeal cookie filled with your familiar apple pie filling. And not just a tiny bit - it was literally flowing out when I tore the cookie in half. This was a good thing! I really wanted to love these cookies, but it just didn't have me thinking about it the next day. I've been to Chip City a couple times before and most recently got the classic Chocolate Chip flavor. As many other reviewers have mentioned, the cookie resembles Levain cookies with its large, round size and similar theory to be more firm on the outside and soft and chewy interior. However, I didn't find the texture to be all that soft inside, neither a crispy exterior. It was all kind of in the middle for me. The flavor also fell flat.. Strawberries n' Cream--the highly anticipated flavor. I've been chasing this down on the mobile truck for some while now. It was always sold out. For Valentine's Day they have been putting this on rotation. So I knew I had to go try it. It did not disappoint. The warm and gooey interior was not overly sweet. The flavors did remind me of Strawberries and cream. The cookie was crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. The red velvet cheesecake was also pretty good. The s'mores is delicious! Chocolate chip too. I ordered through Ubereats and they were delivered promptly, arrived still warm. I enjoyed them with a nice cup of cold milk they were absolutely, absolutely scrumptious. The cookies are so thick, crispy on the outside, soft and well done in the middle, just the way I love them. The price is also very inexpensive especially considering how much cookie you're getting and also did I mention, how delicious they are. You're definitely getting a bang for your buck. They are finally back in Manhattan after their exit from the depressing Gansevoort Market. As always, there was just a huge line on opening day for their free cookie giveaway. Dropped by Chip City on Halloween evening and got a trio of Halloween-themed cookies: an (orange and brown) m&m cookie, a (Halloween-themed) sprinkle cookie, and a pumpkin spice cookie. The chocolate chip stays every day, but the other flavors change every day. I tried the chocolate chip cookie which was super good. I liked how big the cookies. C is for cookie that's good enough for me. I wasn't all that into sweets until recently. Now I am almost always on the lookout for cookies, cakes, pies, and ice cream after a savory meal. A lot of people compare Chip City to Levain Bakery, but I still think Levain has the best cookies in the city. Simply because they're sweeter there. Thats just me. Now I have a mean sweet tooth. If you aren't into ultra sweet cookies, then Chip City may be the better option for you. What they do have here is variety. 4 different cookies are offered here every day on rotation. My favorites are the peanut butter jelly and the blueberry cheesecake. I had their funfetti, but the flavor was quickly overpowered by the chocolate chip that I had beforehand. In the end, it didn't end up tasting like anything. So the funfetti may be the least sweet cookie in my opinion. Contrary to popular belief, I found their Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa Fudge cookie to be underwhelming. The chocolately flavor wasn't strong enough and the marshmallows were crunchy and hard. Maybe this would taste better dipped in hot chocolate? The cookies here are definitely softer in texture compared to Levain Bakery. I'm a dunker, so these cookies are pretty hard to dunk in milk without dissintergrating. Given the current covid circumstances, they only allow 1 customer in the store at once, so be prepared to wait. The Williamsburg location usually doesn't have a line, so I'd definitely head on over there if you have extra time on your hands. read more

Seeing the cookies on display, they looked fabulous; puffy, golden brown, and textured. Without a doubt right up there with Levain for the best-looking cookies. As for the actual cookie, I was a bit let down (perhaps due to the high hopes I had built up). The cross section was rather glum; the cream cheese filling was sparse and somewhat firm. That being said, the taste of the outer cookie was phenomenal. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with actual shreds of grated carrot adding a nice texture to the cookie. Unfortunately, the cream cheese frosting was not sweet at all and essentially just tasted like cream cheese on its own. Overall, a very tasty cookie that looks the part. I'd still rank Levain as a cut above this place, but would definitely recommend giving these a shot. read more

It's been on my list to try, and while it was good, there is better. I'd equate it to a chain restaurant versus a non-chain restaurant. The cookies were flavorful and unique options, but they were a little too sweet. When you compare to the quality of ingredients in a Levain cookie, you just can't compete. That said, we enjoyed the chocolate chip and the apple cider donut options. I love the thickness of the cookie and how tender it is inside.
