I wanted to update my review since they changed their name and menu. Chobop is a sushi spot that offers and AYCE and al la carte menu. I came in for lunch during the weekday with one other person and we got seated right away. It was busy but not crazy. They ask you right away what type of menu you prefer. For AYCE they had the classic or premium option. The premium had more items such has eel and mussels. We went with their classic. I found their sushi to be of good quality for the price. We enjoyed their salmon and yellowtail nigiri which both tasted fatty. I liked that they had no rice rolls which were all good. I also liked that they came out as 4 rolls instead of the 8 that you normally get. The classic menu also included ramen. We got their spicy ramen which was good but I hated that it had a ridiculous amount of ramen noodles in there. I ate half the noodles and it felt never ending. They even had ice cream at the end (matcha and vanilla). Service was excellent. They kept checking on us. I did hate that they forgot some of our items on our first round. I think you get 3 rounds and you can order through them or mark the paper. The inside is very large and great for small or large groups. For value and option I thought this was a great spot compared to their competitions.

Been wanting to try this spot for so long now and came for a dinner with a party of 4. There was a wait and you do have to come in person since it's a paper waitlist. We waited about 30 min. We went for the AYCE which actually had pretty quality fish but I would say the experience is a bit underwhelming. They limit the amount you can order at a time which shouldn't be as much of a problem if the wait wasn't so long between rounds. We would eat our order which all came out on 1 plate and then have to wait a while before placing another due to how busy it would get. Between those rounds we did try to order via the online menu but those also had a wait. We also noticed some pieces would be missing when they came out. I do however want to include that the fish is definitely fresh and high quality. The rice-fish ratio is great and a lot better than you'd expect for AYCE. We were full by the end of the night but if the dining experience wasn't so long I think I would've enjoyed it a bit more.

WOW! I am a sushi snob and usually only frequent a couple of local sushi spots. A coworker told me about this all you can eat sushi spot and I was VERY hesitant to try it. I don't usually go to all you can eat because I feel like the quality is not great. I don't know how Chobop does it but their all you can eat is one of the best I have ever had. The rice to fish ratio is perfect, the fish tastes fresh, the appetizers are delicious. Next time I will order less rolls because the nigiri was truly the star for me. Service was also incredible. Can't wait to come back!

I went back to Chobop for an all you can eat feast at lunch time today with 8 of my friends and we had a really good overall experience, just as i was expecting. You have the option to order a la carte or do the "all you can eat". I have previously given them a long detailed review. So, I'm not gonna go deep into it this time. I had made a reservation yesterday as they prefer you do for parties of 8+ We arrived at 11:30am which is the time that they open. There is lots of parking out front. Our table was ready and we were seated right away. We were the first party in the restaurant. The space is nice, modern and casual. The food is amazing. It is always ultra fresh and well presented and the service is excellent. When you opt for "all you can eat", You get 3 rounds of ordering. But we ate so much that we were stuffed and we stopped at round 2. We started with a miso soup. Then we ordered all kinds of appetizers followed by rolls, nigiri, sashimi and so much more. We ended with a tasty matcha ice cream. My favorite items were the shrimp pops, baked mussels, crunchy roll and tuna sashimi. But everything was really good. I Love how their nigiri comes with half of the rice compared to other places. So you get more fish and less rice. Especially when you are doing an all you can eat. It goes a ling way as you don't want to fill up on rice. The all you can eat option is $38.95 per person plus tax and gratuity. The gratuity is automatically added for large parties. I highly recommend Chobop.

I'd give it around a solid 3.5 stars. The service was excellent and everyone was very attentive, but the food itself was just okay. The sushi had very little rice, which I actually liked because it let the fish stand out more. Unfortunately, some of the fish and shrimp tasted a little too fishy and didn't seem as fresh as I expected. The baked scallop rolls were decent, but they were not really what I was hoping for flavor-wise. On the other hand, the hot foods were surprisingly good and ended up being the better part of the meal. Overall, not a bad experience, but probably not a place I would rush back to for sushi.

My go to AYCE sushi spot! The food is always great and the servers are attentive and nice.

First off, the service was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and prompt. In regard to the food, overall a 3. Got the Premium AYCE. There's a 90 minute time limit with a maximum of 3 rounds. For the first round, there's a limit of 10 pieces for the non- sushi rolls and 16 pieces for the sushi rolls. For the Kitchen Menu items, you'll scan a provided QR code to order. When you eat the sushi, you do get some seafood flavor but you also get a watery flavor while you chew. Also, some of the rice grains were tough. The amount of rice is small but so were the size of the fish. The best items were the Grilled Salmon Belly (very crispy skin), House Salad (tasty dressing and comes with avocado slices) and the Green Tea Ice Cream.

My boyfriend and I visited CHOBOP for their AYCE sushi. The service was pleasant and attentive, and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. My boyfriend and I had three rounds of sushi, two rounds of nigiri, and one appetizer. We were extremely full afterwards, so there was no way we could have their ice cream too. Some rolls were better than others. Our favorites were the Costa Mesa roll and the Lucky 7. We weren't crazy about the deep fried rolls. My favorite appetizer of all time is spicy tuna on crispy rice, so I had to make some room for that. Their appetizer menu is huge and all you've gotta do is scan a QR code and order from your phone. It was a good experience and I cannot believe we were able to eat that much sushi lol.

This place was so great and definitely is deserving of a 5 star review. The main reason why I enjoyed this AYCE so much is because there was barely any rice in the sashimi!!! That is usually really rare for AYCE places to put a small amount of rice with their sashimi so I was so happy that I was able to really enjoy the fish tonight without getting too full! We went for dinner service and even though the restaurant was pretty filled, the staff were all super attentive and was asking if we needed refills on the water etc.. So big thank you to the manager and waitresses if you happen to come across this review, my boyfriend and I really appreciate all the kindness and attention that was showed to us tonight! The rolls were the perfect size, we only ordered 2 rolls and the rest we ate sashimi. Even though we ate so much it didn't feel like it because the rice ratio was so small!! I cannot emphasize that enough. I am so incredibly happy with the rice to fish ratio at chobop. All the side dishes we got were amazing as well, perfect portions. The green tea ice cream looks small but do not underestimate because the little bowl is deep. Everything inside was super clean and I liked whoever was on aux tonight (2010 music). Also music volume was great because it was pretty quiet so I was able to have a conversation with my boyfriend without being disturbed by loud music. 10/10 spot, I will definitely be coming back when I have the chance. I feel like I have been to a lot of AYCE sushi places and this is definitely at the top of my list.

Great AYCE sushi spot! My friends and I came here for lunch on a weekend at opening time. Fish was fresh & good quality! Their options were good and the fish to rice ratio for the night was chefs kiss. The bluefin toro had to be my favorite. Service was a little slow & the food took a while to come out, but the servers were very kind! Would definitely come back!

Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Chobop! We ordered the premium AYCE menu and I must say, it's a pretty good dupe to X Fish Izakaya. Their nigiris aren't packed with rice and the fish quality was good. The torched salmon belly and scallop nigiris were our favorite and I would say a must order. They were fatty and fresh. My only critique with the nigiris is that the fish pieces came out a bit lukewarm. Their appetizers were mediocre except for the Agedashi tofu and their vegetable tempura. The tofu was bouncy and chewy, pretty good! Service was excellent. Although there was only one worker covering for a bit, we still received our orders quickly and they were as attentive as they could be. As far as I know for the premium AYCE menu, they give a free scoop of choice of matcha or vanilla ice cream at the end of your meal. The restaurant is mid sized and can seat a decent amount of people, though it gets packed during peak dining hours so if you have a larger party, I would recommend coming earlier. Plenty of parking out in front and to the side in a lot with other shared businesses. TLDR: would recommend, nigiris aren't packed with rice and fish quality is good. Appetizers are mediocre. Service was great.

Omg might be one of my favorite AYCE options in SoCal!! My boyfriend and I visited on a Saturday night and there was no wait at all. We opted for their AYCE menu. We ordered a little bit of everything but our favorite was the Cajun torched salmon. I also really liked their scallops! They have capped options for toro and carpaccio options. They are SOOO generous with the portions of fish they give you! Can't even see the rice LOL. Fish is super fresh and our server was nice and the restaurant was clean! It's also super reasonably priced compared to other restaurants I've visited! I will visit again!

Chobop is such a great AYCE sushi spot. Their fish is fresh and everything tasted great. Uni is limited to one piece per person among a few others items. Their uni was fresh and good quality. Their soy sauce is so salty! Even their low sodium tasted extremely salty so not sure what happened there. Only thing is the sushi takes a while to come out, so keep that in mind when ordering between rounds! You might get full sitting there and waiting.

Finally tried this place and everything was soooo good…read more Started with the Oyster Half Shell: super fresh, clean, and just melted in my mouth. The Crispy Rice with spicy tuna was definitely a favorite. The rice was perfectly crunchy, the spicy tuna was packed with flavor. Next was the Mad Man roll, which has filet mignon on top. The filet was tender, flavorful, and paired surprisingly well with the sushi. But the highlight for me was the Miso-glazed Chilean sea bass. The miso glaze added the perfect amount of sweetness and umami without overpowering the fish. Also, shoutout to our server! I feel bad because I forgot her name, but she was incredibly sweet, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. She checked in at all the right times and was just genuinely warm and welcoming.

May 2026 and I'm honestly shocked at how much the food quality has gone downhill. The miso soup was…read morecompletely flavorless, and the fish honestly looked questionable, almost like food coloring was used just to make it appear fresh. For $160 for just a few rolls (no appetizers, no drinks, no dessert), the value simply is not there. The only redeeming quality was the staff. They were genuinely very kind, attentive, and helpful. Unfortunately, good service alone can't justify the quality or price. I won't be returning. I'd rather spend my money at places like Pacific Catch in Tustin or restaurants that prioritize and certify the quality of their seafood. As consumers, we have to support places that deliver real value.

I've been around this area for so long but only just now am I trying Kashiwa Ramen!…read more Going inside, the seating area is not large, and off the bat, I couldn't get seated with my family because the 2 high chairs they have available were already taken by another family. Thankfully, they had a booster seat available to have our child sit on. We ordered a miso ramen, a spicy black garlic ramen and a gyoza for our appetizer. The person taking our order was patient with us as we ordered even as we were dealing with our toddler. Our requests were accommodated respectfully and to the best they could! Upon first glance, the gyoza looked good, like it was a family recipe and made from scratch! The spicy garlic ramen had thick, and a tasty looking broth and the portion sizes for the ramen looked like decent enough for the price. The taste for the gyoza was good, but the spicy black garlic ramen definitely stole the show! The broth was the perfect level of savory with a delicious blend of garlic that wasn't overpowering along with the pork broth. The chashu was incredibly tender and flavorful and the ramen was cooked perfectly - *chefs kiss*, amazing! Another reason that helped me decide on eating here was that there is a student discount for OCC students! Definitely cool that the local business is supporting local students! I had a great experience eating here with my family - the food was delicious, the staff was helpful and it was joy!

Stopped by on a Sunday around 7 PM and was in and out of the ordering line in about 10 minutes,…read morewhich was impressive considering how busy it was. I built my bowl with a half white rice, half salad base and chose crab, spicy crab, avocado, white onion, cucumber, and corn for the toppings. I appreciated that avocado didn't cost extra. For protein, I went with double salmon and eel. The salmon tasted fresh and was easily the best part of the bowl. The eel was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. I had it all with the Wasapon sauce, which added a nice creamy kick without overpowering everything else. I also added green onions, fried onions, garlic chips, and masago. The only thing I'd point out is that the masago portion was pretty small, and extra costs more. We didn't try any of the drinks, although they had a decent selection available. The total was a little pricier than I'd usually like for poke, but signing up for their rewards brought the price down enough that it felt more reasonable. Parking was easier than expected. The lot was almost full, but we still found a spot without much trouble. Service was friendly and efficient throughout. Overall, it's a solid poke spot with fresh fish, plenty of customization options, and quick service. Not the cheapest bowl you'll find, but I'd come back, especially for the salmon.

Gotta be the best poke bowls in OC. Fish quality is consistently a step above other OC restaurants,…read moreplus similar cost for much larger serving size! I must make a comment on how perfect the rice is every time. I consider going here and ordering rice only. Lovely restaurant! It has a unique open dining area, very well accommodating for groups. Almost feels like you're eating at a Texas bbq * if getting spicy mayo, ask for light! They tend to douse your fish in spicy mayo lol
