We went here for AZ restaurant week. My wife and daughter both got the lobster bisque. The two soups looked different and one didn't have croutons. The soup was ok but not great. I had the wagyu meatball as an appetizer, which was delicious, the pork chop, and cheesecake. The pork chop was huge and good, but nothing amazing. My wife had the Maui beef skewers which were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. My daughter had the salmon and said it was really good. We also had two of the chocolate lava cakes, one was fully cooked and the other only had a small amount of "lava". While the flavor of the cakes were good, they weren't lava cakes. The restaurant is dark which made it difficult to read the menu. On the positive side, the staff and service were great. I would give CHoP four stars but the overall quality of food was not worth the price. Maybe if we hadn't gone during restaurant week, the food would have been better. read more

I finally convinced my husband to return after two years. Booked on open table for a booth. We were placed directly behind the host station. Two seater. Not a booth. Shared bench. He's a big man. When we inquired we were told nothing else was available. The waitress came and we expressed concern. She said she would look into it and never came back. We ended up leaving. This place sucks. Consistently! We will never return. Went home hungry. Don't know if the owners are the same as Living Room and Sea and Smoke but service is bad all around. You wait forever for a drink. Great atmosphere, awesome service, fabulous food! I was dining alone so I sat at the bar. They had good music playing ( not too loud, just right) . The bartender/ waitress was very welcoming & made great recommendations. I had my favorite cocktail (Paloma) , it was made perfectly! I had Lobster bisque for starters, it was so delicious, creamy & lots of lobster bits in it! I went with the filet ( medium rare) for my entree; Excellent cut of beef & cooked to perfection! Mother's day brunch was disappointing. The almond buttered croissant was not almond, no almond paste or almonds on top. it was just a croissant. the pastries were store bought. The entrees were the best part. Deserts were terrible - "japanese soufflé" pancakes were flat and over cooked , they were definitely not japanese soufflé pancakes. they weren't even good regular degular pancakes. staff were a little weird the busser just threw us some pink packets when we asked for sugar for tea. our server was good but busy. heard other staff talking about each other was just kinda a weird experience. not worth the 75 per person. i could go on but the menu felt like it was written by chatgpt and not even read or adhered to. read more

I always think that a new menu is like the first day of school--it has a familiar feeling but everything is totally different and you're left trying to figure out who you can sit with at lunch. Fortunately, Chop's new menu gives us plenty of delicious options for new friends. There are several new starters and sides including duck fat fries which were amazing. The service is still top notch as always. Been here many times for work and it's great but also has a good date night ambience. Has a dark steak house atmosphere. Good menu. love the Maui ribeye but this last time went with the seabass. It was good, didn't seam fresh but still cooked well and offered lots of flavor. I wish I stuck with the rib-eye. Went with a side of Brussels sprouts and cauliflower and they were prepared well. Came in to try this place for Restaurant Week. Wasn't super excited about the menu, but friends really wanted to go. For $55 per person, I had high hopes it'd be tasty and the somewhat limited menu would be worth it. Bang bang shrimp was the chosen appetizer and it was delish! Definitely the highlight of the meal! Friend tried the wagyu meatballs, which were giant and amazing! On the menu, it said meatball (singular) so I don't think anyone else chose it because who wants just one meatball? On to the main course. Couple of us chose the mahi mahi. Meh. My potatoes were non-existent. The broccolini was terrible--chewy yet hard and had to be sawed through with a steak knife. That didn't get eaten. A friend ordered the filet cooked medium, but couldn't eat most of it, as it was served closer to rare. Only one option given for dessert--the lime tart, which was supremely sweet. Several people went off-menu and ordered the toffee bread pudding, which was great! $18 glass of wine. While our server was very nice, there were no water refills until we got to dessert and we were missing silverware throughout the courses. Kind of an odd mix of things going on inside--it's a cute restaurant inside, but there are sports on tv, top 40 music playing, and it's really difficult to see with the ambiance lighting. Pro tip: if you tap the top of the light, it gets brighter! For those who ordered off-menu, their totals were over $100. Not at all worth the $90 I spent, was beyond disappointing, and not a place I'd return to. read more

We had a great dining experience; the food was delicious, the drinks were excellent, and the ambiance was pleasant. We didn't have to wait long for our table. However, I found one thing odd: we were a party of six, and when we received the bill, it reflected a total of $515.64, which was acceptable. But when the server brought the receipt for us to sign, it showed a total of $615.65. This indicated that they had automatically added an 18% gratuity. This charge was neither communicated nor printed anywhere, so if we hadn't looked at the bill closely, we would have inadvertently given an additional 18% tip. Whenever going hete the very first thing you notice is how friendly the staff is. I mean it everyone single one of the, you can tell enjoys their job. I am in a service related industry. i wish i could bottle up this energy and sell it. Next onto the food. My wife and i have almost tried the entire menu by now and not 1 thing dissapoints. I thought about leaving a review right after I left this restaurant but I needed to calm down because this place is absolutely atrocious. We spent over $150 on what we thought would be a nice meal. Instead my husband's meal was completely an edible started off with the salad. He ordered the Caesar salad as a side with his prime rib, and the salad was drenched with so much dressing. The lettuce was wilting, and it was so tart. Then, when his prime rib came out, he ordered the end cut because he likes his meat more on the cooked side. It was almost completely raw, I almost vomited at the table because it was so bad. My husbands the kind of person that won't complain and he wouldn't let me which we ended up getting in an argument because I can't believe he want to pay $150 for this meal absolutely the worst meal ever I wish I got a picture of the salad and how Wilty it was. Went there for our yearly tradition of Christmas Eve dinner and had the worst experience. To start: We had a reservation via phone call from two weeks prior. Upon arrival, the host claims there was no reservation and had to get who I'm assuming was the manager to come and "see what they could do". After ~10 minutes of them checking their iPad, the manager said she could seat us with nothing but an attitude. During service: Had a very sweet server, answered all our questions and had an amazing energy. Sadly, after ordering drinks and food, she was nowhere to be found until the very end of service. Nobody checked on us after the food arrived which sucks because both steaks were overcooked including my wagyu which was burnt to a crisp. At the end, another server came up and asked us to elaborate on our experience. We were honest and said the steaks were burnt/overcooked and that our server was great to start, just never really came back until the end. She offered to comp one of the drinks as an apology which was nice of her to do, but we would've rather just been able to send our steaks back to be cooked how we ordered. Overall: Spent over $200 to be treated like we didn't belong by the host, get served burnt/overcooked steaks and be forgotten about. We asked multiple times for glasses and all were dirty. My daughter and I did not want soda so we ate our entire meal without a sip of water as the glasses were all dirty. Would we return? I don't think so. I think the food is overpriced considering the below average taste. I didn't even want to waste my time writing this review. I was very excited to dine her and it feel short of my expectations. The server Matt was great thus the reason I gave this place two stars. I drove over an hour to try this place and left hungry and came home and ate a bowl of cereal my daughter did as well. One other irritating factor we arrived before our reservation time and thought maybe there would be a place to wait on the inside bit it was not or not offered should I say. There was this awesome looking sitting area but I guess it was closed or I don't know so we had to wait in the car as there was nit a place to sit. Love, love, love Chop! Met some friends for dinner. Our friends eat at Chop regularly so we had excellent guides and knowing the place had made reservations. We were escorted to our private table immediately upon arrival. Chop has many different seating options and a huge beautiful bar. We had great drinks, great food, great service and overall a great time! So great I enjoyed forgot to take my customary photos...to start my husband had a Smokey Old Fashion and I had an amazing New York Sour - at first they made it too heavy on the wine for me and they remade it no questions - a testament to their great service! We all enjoyed 12 blue point oysters, followed by our dinners. I had a perfectly prepared filet with mushrooms, my husband had (he said superb) Chilean sea bass and creamed spinach, and our friends split a Maui Rib Eye and each had a loaded baked potato (apparently a favorite of theirs).
