Thailand Chicken
Emily Y.

Good food. I decided to try a new dish, Thailand chicken. I wasn't really into it, but it was warm and had the chicken and veggies I wanted. It was light on flavor and really comforting actually. I bet it'd be really good for a person recovering from a cold.

Our lunch, dragon sesame beef and dongxiao chicken

Third time is a charm. It was 2 o'clock-ish and the first two places we went to were closed...on a Saturday! We spotted this place with a neon OPEN sign and decided to give it a try. So happy the other two joints were closed. It's so pretty inside. Very beautiful and calm atmosphere. Our waiter seated us and was attentive. I ordered one of the lunch specials featuring chicken mushrooms, red bell pepper in a sweet/sour sauce. It was not overly sweet, which was perfect for me. The chicken was succulent and the veggies were still crisp. So good. We also ordered the sesame beef, which came with a jar of pepper sauce. We loved that! This way I didn't have to miss out, because the dish was too spicy. We could add the heat ourselves. Wish more places had that option. Anyway, the sesame beef was crispy and flavorful. Though we were among the last customers for the lunch seating, we were never rushed. So nice. We will have to come back during dinner service and explore more of the menu.

The rudest manager with horrible customer service glad I didn't spend a dime here.

The pork steamed dumplings were huge, flavorful and soft, yet yummy chewy, and the soups (we ordered one chicken and one shrimp) were tasty, healthy, and huge. The hand pulled noodles made the soups even more perfect. There was a soy based dipping sauce on the table and also their version of sriracha. Oh my, I would buy that sriracha if I lived here. We ate there and then they had to go containers so we have enough for another meal and I'm looking forward to it. Good people watching too. Everyone was delighted with their food.

We were thoroughly enjoying all of the New Mexican cuisine we were also missing some home cooked Asian food that is our comfort, go to! We decided to go to Dumpling Tea & Dim Sum and we were blown away by the food, service and learning about the owners and their journey to Santa Fe!! First the service - we ordered and got our food served to us! The food! Wow! I ordered the Beef Noodle Soup and soup buns! So so delicious!!! The owner shared his story of moving to Santa Fe after being in New York but covid happened. His wife and daughter along with his parents were arriving soon! We were so happy to learn about his story and happy that he was going to reunite with his family! The place is within a plaza area with other businesses. It's cozy and lots of seating inside and outside of their business but still indoors. I would love to return back to this place and support this business. I wish them much success!

I went again today for a late lunch and enjoyed some aspects of the meal. For one, it was just me and two other tables who closed out right when I was walking in. I was quickly sat, and proceeded to have pretty slow service to start. Once a server finally came back around 5 minutes later, he brought some delicious spicy/sweet peanuts to start. Returned less than a minute later to take my order, then proceeded to have great service afterward.. let me start with the spicy baby cucumbers: pretty tasty and a large serving, however I didn't think they were that spicy. The chile oil used is mostly oily with some not so spicy Chiles used (that could just be my heat tolerance) but nonetheless, they were delicious. The hot tea was fresh and he brought it out with water, which I appreciated.. I was however slightly disappointed in the Dan Dan Noodles, I didn't take a picture just because it honestly was served not too appetizing or picture perfect like most of the previous reviews. Everything was mixed together, and the meat was all in the bottom under all of the noodles. The flavor was pretty good, but I didn't get the normal Szechuan flavor or spiciness that I've had in the past at other places. I do love the fresh noodles, but the overall dish was a little underwhelming. I would have liked it to be a little more presentable, along with more of a noteworthy flavor other than meaty broth with some chile oil (again more on the oily side not so much spice). Overall, the experience was decent and good service. I will come back to try something else and maybe it just wasn't a dish for me.

Eventually when visiting New Mexico, you may get tired of eating stuff with green and/or red chiles…read moredumped all over it and seek out a different kind of cuisine. This was the spot I found myself in about midway through my trip to Sante Fe, and happen to find this Asian spot pretty close to my hotel. The Yelp reviews checked out, and some of the photos really were enticing so I decided to give it a go on a chilly night. It's a simple but well appointed place, just outside the main downtown area, and really close to the main rail station.. just a block or two over. Walking in your are confronted with delicious smells and savory aromas, always a good sign. I took a seat and was helped promptly. I had seen glowing reviews about their hot and sour sweet potato rice noodle soups, and decided to get one with beef. I also can't help but get some dumpling, and went with the spicy shrimp ones. My soup came out first, and was in a nice large bowl filled up with hot soup. My first sip was so incredible, I could not wait to plow through the bowl, and I did just that. Spicy, sour, hearty, tender beef and noodles, lots of well cooked veggies... it all came together beautifully. This was the perfect dish with it being cold out. Shortly after, my dumplings arrived, and they were the perfect compliment to the soup. I even put a couple in there to soak up that hot and sour flavor, and that was just delightful. On their own, they were plenty good. I have no complaints about either item. This was the perfect change-up meal from all the New Mexican cuisine I had been having. I recommend it for those seeking a curveball!

The goodness began with Naomi, who helped me fix an error in my reservation and get a table at a good time tonight. The goodness continued with our server Mitzi, who should be teaching graduate classes in hospitality in every big city. She was friendly without being overbearing, informative without being pedantic, subtle and gracious. Now, the food! My wife chose the vegetarian tasting menu and I had some of each dish: so very flavorful (a green salad with pears, a life-changing mushroom bisque [and I don't like mushrooms!], a chickpea croquette with pickled artichoke hearts and ratatouille, and a substitution of the lemon crepe for three yummy scoops of sorbet and gelato. I chose the scallops, perfectly cooked and moist, over couscous, and a dish of tasty sauteed baby spinach. A wonderful experience, and not overpriced, and everyone treated us sweetly. The musical soundtrack was swinging, and at a compassionate volume. Our first trip to Santa Fe, and we found a gem. Hooray! And thank you, Mitzi!

The interior is classy and very comfortable. We were seated at a nice comfy corner booth. The soft music in the background was soothing and just noticeable enough without being a distraction. We were served complimentary flutes of local sparking wine and a fresh baked bread basket and butter to start. We then ordered cocktails and three starters. First was a split plate of the endive smoked duck salad with a warm bacon vinegarette. Wow...this was nice and refreshing. This was followed by the crab dumplings with fresh corn and peas and lobster sauce. Delicious! The final small plate was seared foie gras on top of banana bread toast. This was very good. I miss foie gras. Unfortunately, it's banned in California. They had a 2023 Sea Smoke "Ten"Pi ot Noir on the wine list. This is one of the best Pinot Noirs produced in California and not easy to find. This was a no doubter and we ordered a bottle to pair with our entrees. My wife ordered their signature elk tenderloin for redemption because the restaurant the night before failed at executing this. I ordered the tomahawk pork chop. This was cooked to perfection with a nice thin crust on the outside and a perfect very light pink juicy center. We ordered a side of brocolini that was pan roasted with shallots and butter. Everything was very good and Michelin grade in our opinion. Lastly we ended the evening and split the tiramasu type of desert. My wife had the expresso martini and I had an 18 year old Glen Morangie scotch neat. The service was excellent and worth the splurge. This is a must when visiting Santa Fe.
