Boba drinks and lattes are available for ordering on the touch screen at your table for an additional cost. I just had water. Some desserts are also available in the self-serve area. Things started out pretty well as our orders were initially coming out pretty quick. Many of the special items had a nice presentation in gold trays, and your server cooks those for you to perfection. The grill never got smoky which was nice. Some of the items we had included A5 Miyazaki Waygu short rib, A5 Miyazaki ribeye, A5 Wagyu Otoro thick cut, A5 brisket, A5 lean meat, Wagyu uni caviar nigiri, lobster roll, beef tongue, prime angus skirt steak, Margra lamb, black pepper Wagyu cubes, salmon & yellowtail carpaccio, shrimp tempura, and fried calamari. There is a 90 minute dining limit, and unfortunately we didn't receive any of our orders for the last 30 minutes. Our server checked with the kitchen a few times, but no further food was ever brought out. The special and regular menu items we had were all very good. However, the self serve station didn't impress, and no food for the last 30 minutes was a total buzz kill. At this price point, I expected a better experience. Chubby has great ratings, so I'm assuming we just came on an off night. Despite a disappointing first experience, I would try them again, or maybe visit another location.

We are so happy with Chubby Cattle Cerritos and it's all thanks to our server Michael! Let me start off by saying that our first CC experience was in Pleasanton, CA. It was so bad that we refused to go to any CC after that. However, while planning Father's Day with our families, this was the best location for everyone to meet. My boyfriend and I were hesitant, but we were hopeful for a better experience. Right off the bat we were happier with the ambiance. While the restaurant was busy, it wasn't stressful and hectic. The dark walls and meat display also help with the ambiance. The aisles had enough space for walking and didn't feel crowded. The touch screen for ordering was also something we were thankful for. It's the little things! (We didn't have iPads dying on us multiple times that delayed our ability to order. This was our experience in Pleasanton). The meat cuts were all really good.

Our favorites include: all short ribs, A5 wagyu foie gras nigiri, A5 brisket, and wagyu short plate. My boyfriend also really liked the bibimbap. Our least favorite was the ribeye, mainly because it's thick cut and chewy. Cutting...

My first experience at Chubby Cattle was great. My server, Alberto was really nice and helpful. Alberto was always attentive to my party's needs. He was very informative about the rules, the time limit, and self-serve options available. He gave us great recommendations on how to best cook our meats, provided speedy grill changes, and kept his attention to us. I appreciate how he would check up on us and answer any questions we had. I unintentionally went over the time limit because I misinterpreted what he meant when he came back to check up on us after the last call was made. Don't be like me, ordering past the last call. Even so, I was still met with great service and I wasn't met with any rudeness for this mistake of mine. Everyone was very professional. I chose the Gold Tier. The wagyu dishes were fantastic. Every item we ordered was perfectly seasoned and had lots of umami. Their menu has a lot of delicious unlimited items as well. I believe that the limited items from the Gold Tier were worth it to try. I was very impressed with the promptness of the service and ease of access to the digital menu. The self-service bar had plenty of items to choose from to cleanse my eating palette from the bbq. I was very impressed with the drinks, as they had strawberry and passionfruit lemonades, and slushies. Overall, this experience at the Chubby Cattle was memorable. There is great variety, they value their customers, and they deliver on their promise of providing exceptional wagyu. I will be returning here again someday in the future!

I usually frequent the flagship Rowland Heights location but this one is more conveniently close to home. I think I actually prefer this location now since it's more low key, but the quality and service is still on point. There are some changes to the menu that I don't remember from before: pre-fried chicken cartilage, durian and cheese sweet potato(!) dessert, and a new garnish, chopped serrano peppers. They were all equally delicious. The cartilage was great to snack on in between waiting for meats to finish grilling. I really like that the menu is still evolving and changing because it keeps things fresh. Our server Kevin was amazing. I feel like at most ayce bbqs I'm fighting to get grill changes or to correct missing items from my order, but Kevin was extremely proactive and made sure all our needs were met throughout the meal. A++ to him and his infectious smile.

Food 4.5/5. Service 5/5 stars thanks to our server Ranier. He was welcoming knowledgeable and attentive and kind not only towards us but to his other tables as well. We chose the silver tier, we weren't super hungry. Diamond is good if you want a lot of food and the premium items. Perfect portions for me and hubs, limited just a few at a time. So food stays fresh. I liked the Wagyu meats with marbling for a nice blend of protein and fats. Hand rolls were generously packed with yellowtail and salmon. I got so full. Lots of drinks options too, sodas, fruit juices, iced milk tea, hot tea. Got the hot tea twice, it's just lukewarm. For an extra fee you can get other drinks like ones with boba or alcohol. For desserts I got egg tarts you can grab them from the warmer. Plenty of quality fruit options which were really fresh sweet and juicy. Couple things felt off for me like the seating process and seat I was in. First on the waitlist, I checked in and was told it would be a longer wait and to keep checking the yelp app. As we walked back to our car, we immediately got a text that our table was ready. That part seemed a bit disorganized and could have been handled more smoothly. I hope the ripped up seat in our booth gets fixed cuz the tape job was rough and uncomfortable Aside from minor mishaps I still would recommend the food and service here.

When Chubby Cattle Cerritos opened last year, they didn't initially have a waitlist and the wait was always hours long so it kind of fell off our radar for a while. They now have a Yelp waitlist, so some friends and I decided to finally try it out. Even after getting on the waitlist on the way to the restaurant, there was still about a 20 minute wait once we arrived. There are three tiers on the menu, silver ($58 regular, $50 member), gold ($78 regular, $65 member), and diamond ($88 regular, $75 member). Believe the hype! This place is an amazing KBBQ spot. The quality of the meat is at the highest standard. All the employees were very friendly. Shot out to CHAE for being a great host. The buffet area had a great assortment. Great vibe all around!

Shoutout to our server, Moses! He was an EXCELLENT server, full of knowledge, helped cook our meat as this was our first time (since posting this review, I have been twice now!) I honestly wish I had taken photos of the meats and food and we ordered, because that is the whole point after all. However, I was so lost in the options, experience, ambiance, in the moment that I did not. However, let me just tell you that this is THE BEST MEAT I HAVE EVER TASTED. The A5 meat literally needs to be cooked for SECONDS on the grill and just melts in your mouth. Steak, A5 wagyu, sushi, lamb, etc. nothing disappointed. The rice dispenser is the coolest thing I have ever seen. So many options of sides to choose from and desserts. We were completely in awe and overwhelmed in the best way! We did opt for the membership and will continue to go to this location (because it is the closest to us). If you go at least once a month as a nice date night treat, this will be completely worth it!

From the moment we walked in, Josh made our first visit to this wagyu restaurant an experience we'll never forget. As first-time guests, we had a lot of questions, but Josh's knowledge, professionalism, and genuine passion for the menu made us feel completely at ease. He took the time to explain the different grades and cuts of wagyu, offered thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences, and made sure we experienced the restaurant the way it was meant to be enjoyed. His attention to detail was impeccable--our glasses were never empty, every course arrived at the perfect time, and he checked in just enough to make us feel cared for without ever interrupting the experience. Josh didn't just provide great service; he created an unforgettable dining experience. The food was absolutely phenomenal, but it was Josh's exceptional hospitality that elevated the entire evening from an amazing dinner to a truly memorable occasion. It's rare to come across someone who is so knowledgeable, personable, and dedicated to making every guest feel special. If you're lucky enough to have Josh as your server, you're in for a world-class dining experience. We'll absolutely be back, and we'll be requesting Josh every time. Thank you for making our first visit one we'll be talking about for a long time! His ambiance was very radiating!

SO DISAPPOINTED!!!!! Maybe this is totally my fault, but I had NO IDEA the AYCE did NOT pertain to EVERYTHING you purchased in the tier you selected. We selected the GOLD (middle of the road) and when shown how to use the ordering system, realized the AYCE meats only pertained to the super thin cuts! YOU CAN ONLY GET ONE ROUND of the thick cut A5 Wagyu type. The drink selections seemed impressive at first, but it's really nothing more than "serve yourself" fountain drinks, which includes 2 types of milk tea. No big deal. The cold section is really disappointing. A few vegetables & fruits, Kim chi, which you can barely see due to the dry ice smoke that covers this section. Nothing to brag about. Sizzler does a better job! The dessert area is mixed with a curry & stew pots and an auto dispenser rice machine that plops a serving of rice in your bowl. There are also mini hamburgers, mashed sweet potato and corn cheese (there was absolutely NO CHEESE) in aluminum tins next to the Hokkaido cream cheese tarts & Portuguese Egg tarts in the warmer. We arrived at 4:45 pm on a Wednesday evening. NOT CROWDED AT ALL, but after we checked in,we were told it would be a 15-20 min wait (?).... The restaurant was literally empty! (see photo). We waited 15, then asked what the problem was. She told me they were waiting to change servers to the night shift crew, which should be seamless to the customer, shouldn't it? ... but the least you should do is tell us as it looks strange that we are made to wait when the restaurant is literally EMPTY! There is also a 90 min time limit and your server will remind you numerous times, WHICH MADE ME FEEL RUSHED. There were 4 of us, so the bill including tip WHICH WAS ADDED ON FOR US... came out to over $100 per person. Sure it advertises AYCE, but make sure you know... that does NOT include everything AND you only have 90 min to manually order, have them deliver, cook it yourself and eat, before they bring you your bill... and don't let the door hit you in the rear.

Chubby cattle of Cerritos is a good time always! Staff there is super nice and always attentive. We had Jordan as our waiter and he came around a bunch of times through out the night to check up on us, take plates away, and bring napkins. It's Ayce Japanese bbq so we order from the screen and minutes later it comes. Everything was fresh and delicious and no issues with missing ordered items. It was my bday so as a member we got a silver meal on the house but I paid the difference for gold. Gold is the best variety in my opinion. Will be back again for sure!

Went here with my friend right when they opened in the morning, and we got Josh as our server. Honestly, he made the experience. He was super kind, attentive, and just genuinely friendly the whole time.But it wasn't just Josh. From the girl at the front who welcomed us in, to the other servers and food runners, everyone was so nice. I don't think people realize how much good service impacts an experience, and this place definitely got that right. One thing I really loved was the self-serve area. They had everything from rice, drinks, and sides available for you to grab yourself, so you don't have to keep asking the workers for every little thing. It made the whole experience feel so much smoother and convenient. The food was SO good. We got the Gold Tier and pretty much tried everything. The meat was amazing, and the dessert was a perfect way to end the meal. We got the matcha dessert with ice cream, and together it was chef's kiss. We came right at opening, but honestly, within about 10 minutes the place was already getting packed, which says a lot. Overall, such a cool spot with great food and even better people. Definitely worth checking out!

Great food and excellent service! Our waiter, Darryl, was very friendly and attentive, always making sure we were well taken care of. The quality of the food was outstanding the meat, vegetables, sauces, drinks, and appetizers were all delicious. The only downside was the restaurant's ventilation system. It seemed to work slowly and didn't remove the smoke very effectively, which made it a bit difficult to breathe at times. Compared to RH, RH has the better ambiance, décor, and indoor air quality. This location is smaller, with tables placed quite close together, making the space feel a little cramped. Overall, though, the food and service were excellent.

First time to the Cerritos store. Was throughly impressed. The beef tongue platter with the thick cut beef tongue was fantastic. Definitely recommend going for at least the gold menu. My first time with friend at the chubby cattle we will definitely be back. When you first walk in there is so much to look at. The ambiance makes you feel like you are being transported into a city in Japan. The drink station covers just about any drink you want. The fruit and veggies stand are great. They have so much more items you can go and grab yourself. Then you get to the meat the quality of it is great. They don't give you a ton at a time but that's due to the quality. Sushi was good but nothing special. I would definitely get the wagyu slider they do go fast so if you see one get one! Service was even better our waiter was so informative and attentive. Chubby cattle is the shit. It's the upgraded premium Japanese barbecue all you can eat with Sushi and we really enjoyed it there being our first time they gave you free drinks, premium quality meat and the service was excellent. Yes there's a long line and great parking but you have to come early to get seated, but it's super well worth it. It's price pretty fair for the quality and everything also. read more

Chubby Cattle has officially become one of our go-to spots. The first time I came was for my birthday in November with some of my closest friends. It was a Saturday night, so it was popping--and yes, the wait was long, but that's to be expected on a busy weekend. Totally worth it. We came back on a Monday evening and had a much smoother experience. We got on the waitlist quickly and were seated in about 15 minutes. Our server, Chae, was absolutely fantastic--bubbly, friendly, quick, and very knowledgeable. She genuinely elevated the entire experience. We were so enamored with the food that we forgot to take pictures (which says a lot). Standouts were the scallops, beef knuckles, and wagyu short rib. The scallops and knuckles shared this tangy, citrusy flavor that was to die for. The table and grill were spotless, which we really appreciated. My husband loved the grape lemonade--sweet yet perfectly tangy. We also tried the taro boba milk tea. It was good, but I'd recommend sticking to the house drinks over the specialty boba options. Overall: amazing food, great service, and an elevated dining experience. We'll definitely be back. read more

Overall I'd give it like an 4.5/5 For a weekend it looks like the wait is gonna be anywhere from 1-3 hours. BUT you can join the waitlist from about 5 miles away from the restaurant. I would make some plans to shop at the mall or something so you don't go crazy waiting for your table. We got the silver tier, all of the meat is waygu, you can still do other stuff like flank steak and pork belly as well. Everything you do in there as far as your order is on a touch screen. You can order up to 10 meats every 5 mins which is nice if you're trying to get all the meat to make fast. The self serve area has everything from rice paper, to cold veggies, to cheese corn. The BEST parts about the self serve area are the waygu sliders, the white rice, and the miso soup. The rice is self serve from a machine. The bowl sizes are pre loaded in there so you can choose how much rice you'd like. The miso soup is also out of a machine, it pours you the broth and you add the seaweed tofu and chives to your liking. We got diamond tier and got the short rib and otoro cuts and they literally melt in your mouth! Even the non premium meats were super tender: A5 brisket, short plate, short ribs, and even the lean meat still has a lot of marbling. I took my mom here for a belated birthday lunch. It was both of our first times. I'd heard from my co-workers how delicious Chubby Cattle was, and I was curious whether the real thing would live up to the hype and what I perceived as a higher-tier price point compared to say, AYCE KBBQ. Spoiler: Yes. It lives up to both! Atmosphere: The inside looks like your typical modern Asian restaurant with comfier seats. Sleek black tables with plush seating. A tablet at each table for ease of ordering meats, special drinks, appetizers, or seafood. The opposite end of the restaurant with the self-serve side and drink stations adds an element of fun and surprise as you wait for your first meat order to arrive at the table. Food: Amazingly flavored. Often times at AYCE places, they heavily flavor the meat with marinades to cover up any substandard cuts. Chubby Cattle understands that the meat is the star, and allows it to shine with a complementary amount of sauce or simple black pepper and salt seasoning that enables the rich flavor to shine. The self-serve stations provide soy sauce, wasabi, sesame oil while the table has Yakiniku sauce, Chinese spice blend chili powder, specialty salt, and specialty sauce (I forgot to try whatever this sauce was). We got the Silver Tier to try everything out. The standout favorites to me were the miso thin sliced Iberico pork, black pepper beef cubes, Wagyu skirt steak! Please do not sleep on the Argentinian red shrimp. It was so sweet and fresh; it would have been a great palate cleanse between each round of meats. I regretted only realizing I could order it at the end! Service: Shauna was super friendly and attentive! As soon as she heard it was our first time, she made sure to walk us through how to use the screen, pointed us to the self-service stations, and even popped by when she could to help us cook some meat. I also loved that servers would give a recommended time to cook the meats when they dropped off each platter. They all worked as a team to ensure that our table wasn't too cluttered with used dishes. 10/10 I would come here again. In this economy, with the unlimited milk tea and dessert included, I think Chubby Cattle is fairly priced for the quality of the items and experience. read more

No links were available either. We ordered half a pound of pulled pork, half a pound of brisket, and four pieces of cornbread--all priced reasonably. Their tap selection turned out to be decent. The Cali Squeeze Blood Orange was a standout, and they also seemed to carry Firestone Walker products, including 805. The staff were friendly and responsive, which was refreshing. While the brisket had cooled by the time we got home, it was still tender and flavorful--just like the pulled pork. The real surprise? The chimichurri that accompanied the brisket--an unexpected and delightful touch. Overall, I'd rate the experience as average. While it's clear they've got potential, a bit more effort could turn Wholly Smokes into a go-to spot. Leaning in on those small details would really elevate the experience.

I wanted to like Mr. Lees but with the decent food and subpar service is hard for me to do. I think the saving grace here was my God son pick this place for his graduation dinner. Upon arrival I noticed how friendly and smiley the host was. It's a pet peeve of mine when hostess act pretentious or gives off a haughty attitude but not here. Once seated, I believe our server was name Ariana. Super sweet gal with great service. We shared a glass of chianti classico- one of my faves! For appetizers, we had the yellowtail crudo and the white truffle garlic bread. The white truffle garlic bread is our tried & true, can never go wrong ordering that. The crudo was good, I love the different textures, but I did wish it had a bit more citrus flavor to balance out the oil. Our entrees were the bolognese with added meatballs and the chicken Parmesan. The bolognese is another tried and true where you cannot go wrong getting. Hubby wanted to try something new this time so he got the chicken Parmesan which surely did not disappoint. The chicken was cook to perfect. But be warned - it's a heavy dish! He could only finish half and had to take the rest home. Lastly, we finished with their seasonal butter cake which was delightful and well paired with the ice cream. All in all, it was a wonderful experience at this location. They were popping and busy for a Saturday night but never felt cramped or crowded. Vibes were immaculate. I noticed the servers being helpful, welcoming, and attentive. Whoever is training these employees are doing something right. I most definitely would come back!

I'm pleased to report that Chubby Cattle delivered rather splendidly. The ambience was lovely. Comfortable, inviting, and--most importantly--the music was not deafening. Unlike certain establishments (cough Gen cough), where one must practically communicate through semaphore flags due to the absurd volume. At Chubby Cattle, one can actually hear their spouse speak. A revolutionary concept. The food was delicious, and the service speed was genuinely impressive. Orders arrived quickly, which is particularly important when one has mentally committed to an all-you-can-eat experience with the seriousness of an Olympic event. Now, I must give special praise to our waiter, Ben. What an absolute gentleman. He went above and beyond for us and kindly guided us through the experience, which was immensely appreciated considering it was our first time there. Dining somewhere unfamiliar can occasionally feel like trying to assemble furniture without instructions, but Ben made the whole journey smooth, welcoming, and genuinely enjoyable. That said, there was one small downside: the restroom. Unfortunately, it was rather messy and seemed somewhat neglected compared to the rest of the establishment, which stood out because everything else felt so well put together. He was very informative and helpful to our party that were there for the first time. He even went ahead and cooked a few rounds of meat for both tables! It was a great pleasure to have Moses care for our party. Speaking of cooking, let's talk food. There was a premium and regular section to the menu. The premium section would be ordered once, then after it's all you can eat with the remainder of the menu. I personally recommend the wagyu uni caviar nigiri, it gave me a hint of japan that i missed so much. The food came out in a timely manner and there was also a self served bar with salads, fruits, drinks and dessert, They even had milk tea which was pretty good! My housemate was working at the time and got off work to eat with my family and I. He was clocked out, changed out his uniform, and I paid for his portion of the meal so he can dine in with us. Few minutes into him eating with us, Sam, our server who is also a shift lead, takes the food literally out of his hands and says "You cannot eat this, get out the table" and then after I explained, that he changed his shirt, clocked out, and even paid for his portion he responds with "no get out the table" the moment my housemate clocked out he's supposed to be a customer treated with respect. but Sam created this scene in front of my parents, in front if all the surrounding customers making this a huge scene and then says "if you want to be dramatic go ahead."
