I just bought a new 2016 Kia Soul yesterday at Chuck Olson Kia. Usually, buying a car is a miserable experience. However, I worked with Troy and Bill, and they didn't pressure me or play games like most car salespeople do. The process was smooth and stress free. One thing that really set this dealership apart from others, is the sales people made sure I knew about all the features. LOL - I was ready to go because I was tired - but Bill & Troy really took the time to ensure I knew the features of this awesome car. I would recommend this dealer to anyone. UPDATE: The Chevy side has fixed the issues with the car and I have not had any issues since the final service was done. Todd even replaced the front headlight that was out for free, and I didn't even ask! I would give 5 stars but there is an issue with our title and 10 days after our temp plate expired and had not heard anything I had to call THEM and ask what was going on and she said she would look into getting us another set of temp plates and then I did not hear anything, I then had to call back and ask and was informed they would get me another set of temp plates and mail them...well it is now August 1st and my Temp plate expired July 3 and I still do not have another set of temp plates and NO word on title or when the final plates will be in. So although the issue with the car is fixed and we are very happy with that we are still experiencing issues with the dealership. So I will leave the dealership with a 3 star-meh-review. Before I write a horrid review on this place I would like to say we had a pleasant buying experience with Brian on the Kia side. We found a car online we liked and called him and made a reservation and went in and he answered all of our questions and help us buy this car. We bought a 2010 Equinox LT Before going in we read reviews on the dealership and on the car. We did our research and our homework. My husband is a mechanic and once we got to the dealership we checked out the breaks, tires, all the fluids, engine, checked the oil and everything seemed to check out. We both went on a test drive and we really liked the car, it was a smooth and easy ride. After we bought the car the experience has been anything but seamless. We Bought it on a Thursday evening, picked it up on a Friday Morning and drove it home and we noticed the A/C wasn't working, called, talked to Todd in service and he fixed it the following Tuesday/Wednesday. I did not complain or ask for a loaner car or anything as they kept our car overnight to fix the A/C. Got the car back Tuesday afternoon and it had cold A/C and was lovely! A week or so later we noticed when accelerating from a stop or a slow down a hard shift/jerking action while shifting gears. We Called Todd in Chevy service at Chuck Olson and he had us come in Early June and said he knew what we were talking about and would see if he could duplicate and fix the issue. I washed and vacuumed out the car, and filled it with gas Wednesday afternoon. We took the car in on a Thursday and they had it all day Thursday, Friday and called too see if the service manager could take it home for the weekend, we said it was okay, and they had it all day Monday and into Tuesday when I finally called them because we were leaving on a road trip the next day (we were assured by Brian that this car would take us to Idaho and back no problem). Todd said he could not find any issues with the car and could not duplicate the problem. I was annoyed but I went and picked up the car and opened the back to find sand all over the place and grass or pine needles from someones shoes in the passenger side (remember the car was vacuumed and washed Wednesday before I took it in on Thursday.). I also picked it up with less than 1/2 a tank of gas in it. I did get a loaner car this time and I picked it up with a little less than 1/2 a tank and returned it with that much gas, it was also washed. We went on our trip and Sure enough had the jerking/jolting issue while we were gone. Looked it up online and it's a known issue on the 2010-2012 Equinox (and a few other Chevy cars). In our research before buying we did not read this problem anywhere but as soon as we googled "2010 Equinox Hard Shift" there was lots to be said about it. Some people were saying the TCM needs to be reset and then there's no issues. The problem happened again while in a round about after we were home from our trip last week and I felt like we were being rear ended, even my 2 year old went "whoa" from the back seat. At this point I called again and made an appoint for this week to bring the car in and have it looked at. I asked Todd what happens if they can't duplicate the problem again, and his response was, "well we don't do anything". I can understand why, if they can't see the problem how are they to fix it but we bought this car for a safe reliable transportation option for our family and now the dealership isn't willing to work with us. Today I called General Motors and got in touch with the Chevrolet Customer Service and they are going to call the dealership and see what can be done also. I would say, from the start take your business elsewhere. Somewhere that will help and stand behind the used vehicles on their lots. We couldn't afford a $25-50k brand new car with 0 miles on it, that is why we did our research and homework and found what we thought would be a good and fair dealership for a used car. One bad apple spoils the bunch. I took my Car in for what I thought would be a diagnostic with integrity. I have gone to the Kia dealerships for diagnostics because I felt that I will get a straight forward answer about repairs actually need to be done. I have been working on cars for four years because as a woman, my experience has been that people treat me poorly and are dishonest about work that needs to be done. I went in a few weeks ago for a diagnostic already knowing that I had an issue with the tension in my drive belts. My mobile master mechanic and I had replaced the belts 12 weeks earlier. I stood by him and assisted him in replacing all of my belts as well as my valve gasket cover. Upon entering the service department I was greatly by the same friendly woman I had spoken to one the phone to set up the appointment. There was a young man with a beard as well as an older gentleman with silver hair who I took to be the service manager. These people treated me well. After going to a grocery store via an uber which Kia provided I came back and saw a car of the same make, model, and color as my own in the garage and thought it was mine. I asked another employee if that was my car as it appeared to be on its way out of the garage. This man was very heavy set, bald, and looked to be of hispanic or middle eastern decent. I only mention the appearance of his heritage so that he can be easily identifiable to the management who will see seeing this review. He began angrily explaining that the car I was seeing was not mine but an identical car. He was shooting mean looks at me with a furrowed brow as he was speaking. Even got out into the small lobby from behind the stand up computer desk and was saying rude things to me as he tapped on the full length glass doors which lead to garage. After waiting over two hours for my diagnostic results this angry heavy set man comes out the guest lobby and tells me that all of the belts, which I replaced 12 weeks prior with my master mechanic, needed replacing. He was trying to take me for over 1K! The timing belt alone would have been $470. I know this because I took my car into Kia of Everett for a diagnostic a few months back. That is how I knew my drive belts valve gasket needed replacing . They gave me a detailed estimate of the repairs. I informed this angry man that I had already replaced my belts. He then started berating me about where I got them done and how I knew they were good. When I told him that I replace them in my own driveway with my own bare hands he got very angry and stormed off as I was in the middle of a sentence. The person who I believe was the service manager with the silver hair came in to do damage control and was incredibly courteous. He said that they adjusted my belts for free and we're not charging me for the diagnostic. I have gone to the dealership to get diagnostics for my Kia because they specialize ing them and can plug their machine into my Kia port under the hood of my car And find the issue in minutes. I also go to the dealership expecting a level of integrity and professionalism that I am not likely to get elsewhere. I am now rethinking about where to get my diagnostics done. I understand that I ought to be compassionate as this, as it's 2020 and things are hard for everyone but that person who treated me so poorly at the dealership is lucky to have a job. My industry has been annihilated. I do anything I can for money now. I would love to have his job should the position become available. read more

So I was online looking for an inexpensive car to leave at the airport when I travel each week for work. Came across a 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor LS. The comments read the following "RUNS GREAT!!!! This is a Local Trade that has Room to Spare, Straight Body, Clean Interior, Very Very Well driven and Maintained, Ready to WOW with its Overall Condition! Inspected, Serviced and Detailed, Call us Today! ". When you look at the car you see it is filthy dirty, does not look like they inspected it, and has been in an accident. What liars & cheats. They did not even change the license plate frames to have their dealership name on it. It says AUTOPLEX MOTORS in Lynnwood. Buyers be careful here..... They are more interested in taking your money as soon as a car comes in trade and cheating you...... read more

When I went in to purchase my Kia, the service was great. Sarah was super helpful, upbeat, and talkative. I really felt as if I had made an excellent choice purchasing my car from here, and that I would continue to receive such great service. When I made my first service request, I was again treated to excellent customer service. Upon my second service I found out that my battery was not holding a charge, that I would need a new one, and that it wasn't covered under warranty. I hadn't even had my car for ninety days. I had emailed Sarah a couple of times to see if there was any way to work with Kia on replacing the battery and received no response. I tried calling a couple of times. The first I was on hold for a couple of minutes, the second she wasn't available. Initially they're great, but they could use work on their follow through. read more

Chuck Olson Kia changed my perception of car buying today. After visiting two other Kia dealers in the area where they couldn't or didn't want to find me the car I wanted I was dreading going to a 3rd dealer in hopes of finding the exact car and color I was looking for. Nathan was up front with me on an aggressive price of the new car even before I showed up to the dealership. I got there and he had the car pulled up front with the paperwork ready to close the deal. I added a few accessories and then the finance manager came out soon after with the paperwork for signatures and the deal was done. Note that they didn't take me in to the finance managers office and try to to sell me other warranties, services etc. After I left Nathan called me back to tell me that he had found my prescription sunglasses in my trade-in and that he had set them aside for me to pick up. This was a great experience. Each time it came in (I made three visits) I was under a time crunch. My salesman Troy, always stayed within my schedule and did everything we could via email for the next visit. Car buying can be a confusing cat and mouse game that meets all clichés you see on TV. Not here however, I stated what I was looking for and the final number was $1 more than my original ask. Not bad at all. I drive all the way from Des Moines to Shoreline for my scheduled maintenance because I have been so impressed with them from day one when I bought the car. fantastic and honest people here, we bought a CPO Kia minivan here and got a great deal. when going back for service, Mohammed is the service manager I believe and he did an incredible job fixing a minor issue in just minutes! before I could sit down and open up my computer he had my taillight fixed. he did it with a smile, great attitude and gave me a great deal since we bought the part and car from him. I stopped in at Chuck Olson because I have been seriously considering buying the new Stinger GT2. I was approached by Luca who was very friendly and we instantly started talking about the Stinger. I had a friend with me and my daughter with her car seat, but Luca was still eager to have me drive the car to get a feeling for it. The car was astonishing, and Luca took us on a route that really let the car stretch its legs. He was very knowledgeable and if there was something he didn't know, he didn't BS and let me know he would follow up. I really appreciated his honesty throughout my time at the dealership. After driving the car and talking with my wife, I was seriously considering buying, but wanted to think about it. After signing a few papers, I was allowed to bring the car home for the night to really feel what it'd be like to live with it and ponder the purchase. I unfortunately reconsidered overnight, as it just wasn't the right time. I brought the car back the next morning and shared the news with Luca and he was very understanding. The sales experience throughout was very low pressure, and it felt like an honest and transparent process throughout. While I decided this wasn't the right time for me, the Stinger is the right car for me, and when I do buy it will be from Chuck Olson Kia. I wanted a manual transmission. Kia and Hyundai both offer a model with one. However, a backup camera was also a necessity and the Kia Forte LX does not have one. Christopher B., my salesman, offered a good deal on a 2018 Forte and led me to believe that Car Toys could install a camera for "$250-$450". Although I researched both Hyundai and Kia, I did not research Car Toys. The quoted cost to install the camera I wanted was $1,000. The Hyundai model comes with a camera already installed and was a similar price to the Kia. The next day, when I asked Christopher about the discrepancy, he admitted he was just trying to close the deal on the car. Used car salesman have been the butt of jokes for decades. I'm sorry to say, new car salesmen may be just as misleading. I understand a salesman's job is to sell cars, but a win for the salesman should not be a loss for the customer. On Tuesday, I spoke to Heath, the manager. He said his salesman never lies but offered to see what he could do to help me get a reasonably priced camera and stated he would call within 24 hours. 50 hours later, I called him back and was told he'd been out of the office the past 49 hours and 50 minutes. No apology, just defensive justifications. Again he said he would call back in 15 minutes. After 30 minutes with no call, I realized these people have no interest in customer service. I worked in the field for 30 years and would have reprimanded, if not dismissed for treating any of my customers like this. On a brighter note, Keaton, the finance guy, was efficient and pleasant. Also gave a good cash deal. However, the car has had ongoing issues with the trunk lid opening at odd times without the keyfob. Also, occasionally the alarm system cannot be turned off. To be completely honest, Greg Olsen did pay for a back-up camera installed free standing. It is not what I wanted but it was a step in the right direction. read more

Just had my Hyundai serviced there. I've taken my car there several times and I am always impressed with the friendliness, helpfulness and good work. I was never a fan of taking a car to a dealer but Rick at Chuck Olson won me over. They bend over backwards to help. This time, they promised me my car by noon so I would make a 1 p.m. appointment. Turns out they made a mistake and the work would take longer. So they had their driver come pick me up, take me to my appointment (it was short), and bring me back home - my own private chauffer! They always return my car cleaner than when I brought it in. I never feel like they try to sell me service I don't need. I have and will recommend them to friends and family. read more

Never will I go here again. Went in for a routine 30,000 mile check, nothing wrong with my car, yet walked out with a bill over $500. Charged me for things I later found they shouldn't have. I actually enjoy bringing my car here for service, which I've never said about another mechanic! I used to be skeptical over prices at a dealership, but this one is very competitive and more than reasonable. The employees are wonderful, particularly Rick. They go out of their way to explain in depth what needs to be done and why, and have even told me more cost effective alternatives. Several times they've stayed late so I could pick up my car, and never act like I'm an inconvenience. Their waiting room is clean and well stocked. I take my Kia and Hyundai here, as they don't just service Kia's. I'm so impressed with Rick and the rest that when I buy my next car I'm heading here! read more

A complete revision of my earlier review. For me, anyway, the leasing experience was smooth and fair. But since then, it's been hellish. I leased a Soul EV from this dealership. It's an electric vehicle. The battery needs to be recharged every 100 miles or so. The dealership said that I would be able to charge the battery for free at the dealership, which is what KIA says, too. I've been trying to set this up with Greenlots, the system that runs the charging network, for five months. It's an incredible simple process: a dealership just emails Greenlots and gives them the customer's VIN and name. I've asked for this over and over again at Chuck Olson, and they claim not to know how to do it. Performance KIA in Everett, even though they're not my dealer, put me into their system; it took less than a minute to do. But Chuck Olson is not honoring their promise to put me into their "free user group." Five months. Not kidding. What a ripoff. My earlier review: Okay, it feels weird to award five stars to a car dealership. But I really, truly have had excellent experiences with this one. We bought a used KIA from Chuck Olson a few years ago. Fair negotiated price, nice car, no problems. We've used the service department a couple of times (haven't needed much). The most recent time was to get a windshield wiper mechanism replaced; it had gotten broken going through a car wash (Brown Bear reimbursed us for the cost of the repair). We drove into Chuck Olson without an appointment, and mechanic David Barker, who had already finished his shift, stayed around to do the repair for us. And, two days ago, I leased a new car from Chuck Olson. Our salesman was Demetre, and as others have commented, he is a gem. So straightforward and honest that I didn't believe him at first. But we negotiated a fair price for the lease, and the transaction was smooth. Demetre is professional, knowledgeable and fun. And I love, love, love the new car. read more

As long as they're selling you a car they're super nice over there. I recently released a car with them in the beginning of January and they told me my license plates would be there 4-6 weeks. It has now been 6 weeks and my temporary license plate is now expired. I've called them at least 5 times asking where it was and got different answers from all the people I have talked to. "I'm sorry mam but it takes 6-8 weeks for your license plate to get here" "the dol is processing your paper work now and you will have them by tomorrow" and yet no one has called me still...I have had to call them and still no answer of where my license plate is. This is probably the worst experience I've had here. 3 stars because they really do give you good deals when you're wanting to buy or lease but not for customer service. read more

My experience with the service department was mostly negative. I took my Optima in to find out why it wouldn't take fuel at a normal rate. I agreed to the $125 diagnostic fee and the next day I got a call that it was the air vent canister. I agreed to go ahead with repairs and the bill came to $500+. I was surprised it was that much, but I agreed, so no problem. I picked up my car, paid the bill and left. However, when I took my car to the gas station, it was not fixed. They told me to bring the car back, and they would look at it. I was amazed they had not checked to see if their work was successful. I asked them to please check this time. They told me they would have to charge me to take it to the station. Then they called me the next day to say that they thought it might be a valve on top of the gas tank, and that it would be another $250 to find out. I said no and picked up my car. I called the service manager and he told me to bring the car back in and they would cover the labor. I did (3rd time). They called the next day to say it was in fact the valve, but they couldn't pull the gas tank with gas in it, so come pick up the car and drive the gas out and bring it back. I drove the gas out and took the car back (4th time). They called the next day and told me to replace the valve would be another $170+. I talked again to the service manager and told him I shouldn't have to pay that because they had misdiagnosed the problem originally. He did not agree, but backed off the labor. In the end I paid almost $650,and made all those trips. Bad service all the way around. read more

Both stayed late in the evening to finalize my purchase, which I so appreciated. Such great customer service from both these guys, it really changed my mind about how car buying can be. Gani was really nice, not pushy. He let me decide to buy in my own time. No buyers remorse. I found out a few days after buying the car the brakes needed some work. I called and talked to Perry, he took me right over to service, they fixed my brakes at no cost to me. The service dept was awesome too. My car buying experience was top notch. The best its ever been, thats saying a lot as this is not my first car. Im really happy. I looked for a car for several days before returning to chuck olsen to buy the car I wanted in the first place. I was exhausted by all the high pressure sales and calls from dealerships trying to sell me what I really didnt want. The crazy thing is they were ready to come way down in price. They shouldve said that in the first place, not corner me and waste my time! Gani was not like that at all. When you sell a good car and stand behind it, who needs high pressure? I just wanted to leave a thumbs-up very positive review for Mike Poierri (in fact, 5-stars for Mike, seriously a great guy and eager but no-pressure salesman) and Doug at Chuck Olson Kia, even though we ended up purchasing our new Kia Soul at another dealership. We really, really wanted to buy from Mike and Doug - they were both exceptionally friendly, hard-working, knowledgable and fair (and close to home here in Shoreline) - but in the end, the price from the other dealership was just plain better and, alas, Chuck Olson Kia couldn't match it. We had to go with the lowest price. And here's the thing - Mike totally understood that. As artists, every penny counts for us, but we're sorry we couldn't buy our new car from these guys. Just an example of what a supportive and accommodating guy Mike is: he ran off to the Chevy dealership next door to get us a couple of icy cold waters - it was HOT today! - even as we were driving off to go to the other Kia dealership! That is above and beyond the call. I hope Chuck Olson Kia knows what a fabulous employee they've got in Mike. I think it was just a fluke that the other dealership came in lower on the price this time. So I highly recommend stopping in to Chuck Olson Kia when you're in the market for your next car. Absolute CON ARTISTS! I purchased a vehicle in July of this year. The process is no different than any other sleazy car dealers. First the entire process took 4 hours. We had excellent credit so no need to haggle, the price had already been determined over the phone prior to even showing up at the dealership. All we had to do was show up and sign the papers. But first, we went back and forth about the interest rate. Second, they tried to low ball me on my trade in. Finally, I purchased the Gap insurance for $895 which I found out later I could purchased through my own insurance company for $6 a month. So I cancelled within 30 days for a refund. I'm still waiting on my refund check FROM JULY, even though I was told that it was "mailed out" last Friday with a UPS tracking number that states it was never picked up. Love my new car, but HATE the dealer! Save yourself the headache and just avoid them. read more

Let me start by saying this is long overdue...when I moved back to WA in 2012 my chevy was having problems that needed to be addresses. So I took it to my closest dealer at the time (Pierre Chevrolet). They came to me and said nothing was wrong with my car. My car literally sounded like the engine was dry and would shake. Something was not right. So I kept taking it back to them over the course of almost 2 years and they would still tell me they have no diagnosis and that my car was fine. It wasn't until I took my car into Chuck Olsen Chevrolet where I received some answers. I didn't even bring my car in yet and Todd pretty much knew what was wrong with my car just from our conversation. My car was fixed and running smoothly a few days after bringing it in. The staff listens to you and really takes care of you! I recently just went in to have a new key made. I was quoted for the price of the key and to program the new key over the phone but when I went in they only charged me for the new key and I was out in less than 20 mins! I brought my almost 2 year old son with me and the staff was so friendly with him. One of the staff members even went out of his way to bring my son some fruit snacks. Took my '15 Kia Forte 5 in for an oil change. The service advisor asked if I wanted to do a 15K service early since it was so close. He gave me the price and what was to be done. I okayed the filters if needed as my tire store does the rotation. Oil change was done. No filters needed. I've had some places just replace items because the service schedule says they have to be done. The one thing that should be looked into is the waiting area. Please don't offer snacks when there's nothing put out. The only thing available was water and coffee. In the past there have been cookies and chips to munch on. Was told that the person who oversees that particular area locks up the items on Friday. Maybe that person should be told that the dealership actually has people who come into their showroom on the weekends. Not a big thing but when you feel like something to nosh on and there's nothing there, it's kind of frustrating. read more
