The service was fast and friendly! We were greeted by the hostess in a timely manor and our server was pleasant. My husband got the Bison Burger and I got the Chute Rooster Burger with pepper jack cheese. We both requested medium doneness. The burgers were cooked perfectly! So yummy! I also had a gin martini and my husband had the Dunkle beer. Delicious! My only negative comment was there were two dogs in the bar area where we ate. I do enjoy dogs, but do not appreciate having to eat with them in close proximity. Love the western decor! I do recommend this restaurant, just keep the dogs outside. No pic of food because I was too hungry!

We debated whether to give this a 3 or 4 star. Food was good but not great. The menu wasn't up to date, so we were bummed to not be able to try the grilled cheese. Waitress and staff were friendly, and the live music was cool. It was just pretty expensive for what it was, which is why we went with a 3*. It did seem like a cool "locals" spot and less touristy which was cool.

A great hidden gem. Get the wing sauce that they make. Cool draft beer selections, local favorites. We shall return. See us on YouTube at Coolest Life.

While in the Black Hills everyday was pretty jam packed. Most restaurants in the area would close pretty early. Chute Rooster had a good food selection and had convenient hours. The restaurant had a really neat atmosphere and was pretty unique. The food was very appetizing, we had the cheeseburgers and fries.

    Let's try it!

A cute farmhouse restaurant located a walk away from our hotel. Granted, we did not walk though haha. BUT if you want to work up your appetite before your meal, go for it. I ordered the bison burger on a gluten free bun, no cheese, and sweet potato waffle fries. The fries were scrumptious ! My burger was good but kind of dry since it didn't have any lettuce or tomato on it, I guess you have to specify if you want it on there which I didn't since I thought it came loaded. Our waiter was Remi, he was prompt and courteous! Thank you Remi!

Food was excellent. Had the grilled cheese and beer cheese soup. Husband had the smoked wings and cheesy dip with tortillas(that they brand). Brown beer was fantastic. Service was great. We sat outside with our pup. If it had started raining they said we could come inside with her. Very cute inside. Have 3 different sections to sit in. Great spot. You should be here.

Great atmosphere friendly service. Food was good for lunch. They had some cool Hank Jr. t -shirts for sale. Bummer they only had small sizes left. Easy parking and 1 minute from the center of town.

Food was very good. Live singing artist from Nashville. We were there during the Sturgis Bike Run and place was crazy like a biker bar. Lot of fun. Mountain bar. Ate a bison burger

My food was overcooked and way overpriced. Service was OK. Would not return, seemed like a tourist trap.

It was already completely filled in the bar with wait times until 6:30pm at that point. Come early or reserve if you have a big group! There are two dinner options for adults - bacon wrapped steak and a German noodles dish. The bacon wrapped steak was great and also came with a wedge salad. The prices were incredible at about $20 per entree. It does have a strong bacon flavor so you have to be sure to enjoy that flavor. There was a hotdog option for kids and a vegetarian menu. The dessert menu was extension with more than 10 items. I had the napoleon and it was light, airy, and flaky. Everyone was happy with their desserts and the price was around $7 per item. Overall, it was a fun experience with decent food in this small town. I would come back and I recommend you try it!

Or just come when you want and hope to get in with only an hour wait. Regardless of some of the advertising there is nothing German about the place except the name. I'm from Chicago where we have a long history of real German food. But nobody comes for that anyway because the menu had like 3 things. 2 sizes of filet mignon which they promote being the cheapest which they are or pasta primavera which was a huge serving and looked decent. Should've opted for the larger one but as we age we just aren't eating that much. The meat was dry and overcooked, Easily the worst filet mignon either of us has ever had. The waitress was not rude though not welcoming or friendly but mostly just slow, both mentally and physically. Something about the area in general is they don't offer much if anything in the way of vegetables with meals. A problem for some health issues. Here we saw a couple order the pasta with 2 steaks and picked the veggies out of it. On the whole a very disappointing experience to end an otherwise wonderful trip.

Not really our thing. Noticed Lemongrass while we were walking around and thought we'd stop in. They were very accommodating for our poodle- immediately brought a water bowl for her. Our waitress took our order quickly. We had the steak entree with fried rice and vegetables and the shrimp entree. Both arrived quickly and were very good. We finished the meal with chocolate cake! Excellent service and very good food!

Drinks arrived, and from that point on, we waited. My husband ordered the chicken salad, and I ordered the Steak Fried Rice. No one approached us to refill drinks or talk to us for 30 minutes. The server finally informed us that she was sorry for the wait; however, they had run out of fried rice, and they were quickly making some in order to fill our order. The manager, I assume, then came over and assured us it would be out in a few minutes. We waited another 10 minutes and finally walked out. As of now, my review is this. The place is clean, the ambiance is okay, the service is horrible and I have no idea how the food tastes. At this point I would NOT recommend eating at this establishment until they learn how to run a restaurant properly. If they had come to us and told us they were out of fried rice, I would have ordered something else. They should have at least come out sooner and given us a choice.

I started with the spicy mango marguerita, stirred (they didn't have a blender) and it was delish. Just the right spicy/sweet. We ordered the Rocky Mountain Oysters for appetizers. Honestly the best ever. Thinly sliced, not chewy. I had a Mexican salad. Can't remember what they called it, but it had black beans, corn, cheese and jalapeños with a cilantro ranch dressing, with a choice of protein for an additional charge. My son enjoyed his sliders and said the soup, which tasted like a creamy corn chowder, was awesome. Definitely worth the trip and I hope to wander this way again.

My husband ordered the street corn rice bowl, which sounded delicious on the menu but missed the mark entirely and didn't match the menu description. The chicken was so overcooked it was completely dried out, the 'cilantro lime' rice was just plain white rice, the street corn was not charred at all, it was a can of corn dumped on the bowl, the jalapeños were not pickled. My daughter and I split the chicken tenders and they were very good. Our server never came back to check on how the food was, so my husband ate his because it was late and he was hungry but would've been nice if our service cared to check on us.

The experience from beginning to finish was as follows…read more.. We enter, unsure whether to seat ourselves, and are asked, albeit almost silently, to pick a table of our liking. And upon choosing a table, we were given menus by our server, who didn't have a name tag, so I couldn't reference her specifically, and asked to select a drink. After getting water, we eagerly wait for 15-ish minutes for our waitress to take our order. After placing our order of two burgers, nothing special, we waited patiently for our food. Keep in mind, we arrived at 8:10, 50 minutes before closing. We then waited 30 minutes for our burgers, only getting a light apology after 25. Upon receiving our food, we were FAMISHED, and it tasted good! But I think practically everything tastes good when you're hungry, am I right?!? After GOBBLING our burgers down, we received the check at approximately 9:05, and the waitress was eagerly looking at the screen when we politely left a tip justifiable for the service. I'm one always to tip a server, even if the service isn't the best. At the end, we were sent off with an "okay" and nothing more. I'm not one to complain, but a thank-you would've been nice since we weren't rude to her about the insane wait time. Ultimately, be warned: when you come here, it's a cute place to take family when passing through, but not when you're on a time crunch. In short, the food is pretty good, somewhere between 6/7 out of 10, but the service was very subpar, leaving us with a sour taste in our mouths.

I ordered the bison burger and an extra sweet potatoes fries. The food took a very long time for our group of 12. Probably about 20 minutes. We chose our own table and basically had to put our own chairs together as they did not offer any help in moving them besides acknowledging our party size. The bison burger was dry with a bit of crispy exterior texture on the patty that made it taste somewhat better. The bun was not special and although we asked for medium rare, it was more like medium to medium well done. The potato fries tasted good and were soft inside with a nice firm and slightly crunch outer casing. The sweet potato fries were limp and not very good unless you like them greasy, soft, and starchy. In hindsight, I would have just eaten the lunch special hamburger and fries. They also had a $5 upgrade to salad bar option.
