I had my first cinnamon roll a few weeks ago and honestly, it was absolutely the BEST one I've ever had in my life! It was so flavorful with the delicious toppings and the bun it's self was soft, and oh so tasty. The bakery is warm and inviting with great service! It was good. I didn't like the topping mix I put on but that was my mistake; chai, strawberries with pie crust. . . What was I thinking?! Obviously, I wasn't . I only had two issues. The first being that I wish the Cinnamon roll was cooked a longer to make it warmer and more brown. I'm not sure if you can request that but That's just my preference ‍. The second thing was that there were oats in the pie crust, who does that?! It was a bit strange to me. But all in all it was decent. Cinnaholic is the best! I'm allergic to dairy & it's been so hard finding yummy desserts. Their rolls are so good, you wouldn't believe they're vegan! Everything there is pretty sweet, so I recommend getting some sort of fruit on top to freshen it up a bit. Also, if you also have a gluten allergy, they'll make gluten free brownies if you ask a day in advance. My daughter had the Double Trouble, peanut butter icing with homemade peanut butter cups. She was delighted. Great homemade peanut butter cup. Not excessively gooey or dry . My disappointment was ( now granted I ordered delivery to my work and also ordered nearly a dozen for my cohorts ) Disappointing they seem to be "thrifty on frosting." None of ours even looked remotely like the pictures? I would've thought with such a larger order there would look like some frosting on top? Really wanted to love this place after seeing all the locations blowing up all over and how amazing the cinnamon rolls looked on Instagram. Overall the rolls are good, but they need to step their presentation game up if you're gonna charge this much for cinnamon rolls. There's a great variety of their signature cinnamon rolls, but even better, there you also have the option to custom make cinnamon rolls. They have a big variety of frosting flavors and toppings, so you can get really creative and try thousands of combinations. We ordered two cinnamon rolls, one with coffee, chocolate chips and chocolate sauce -which was pretty great. The other one with vanilla frosting, strawberry jam, strawberries and brownie bites -the strawberries were fresh, the jam wasn't too sweet and brownies tasted fresh too, overall everything was great. They have other options other than cinnamon rolls, like cookie dough, brownies, cookies, day old cinnamon rolls for cheaper, and some drinks. The rolls always seem stale to me and too bready and could definitely use more cinnamon filling. I think people will tolerate sub-par baked goods in the name of veganism but as a long term vegan baker, I can assure you that softer more flavorful cinnamon rolls are totally possible. You have got to be kidding me! I have no idea how this place has as high of a rating as it does. I love cinnamon rolls and have a huge sweet tooth. I was super pumped to try this place and had been hyping it up to my BF for months. On a balmy Spring evening, we decided to walk over and finally give this place a go. First of all, they allow you to taste samples of the frosting. Ok, great. But the samples are given to you on a super narrow popsicle stick, about half the width of a normal one, with a tiny dab of frosting on it equivalent to half of a sunflower seed. Seriously? Is the store going to go bankrupt giving people reasonable samples? After effectively not tasting the cream cheese frosting at all, we decided to go for the Turtle, which is a cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting, chocolate and caramel drizzles, and pecans. It cost $7.98. Our order was completed fairly quickly and we ate it in the store immediately. Visually, it looked pretty tasty and the portion size is huge. However, after taking 1 - 2 bites each, the two of us quickly decided this was not even worth attempting to finish. I actually spit out my second bite because it was just so unappetizing. The roll was lukewarm and had a weird super soft, undercooked texture. It also had no flavor itself. I felt like I was eating fake play dough bread. The frosting was thin, gritty, and tasted extremely artificial. I have no problem with artificial frostings, heck, I'm a fan of the white stuff that comes with Pillsbury Toaster Strudels. But this frosting just tasted really fake and even plasticy. The caramel and chocolate were completely unmemorable - thin, runny sauces with no additional flavor value. And the pecans were chopped raw pecans. Who puts raw pecans on Turtles? Because they were raw, they had that sort of rough, tacky texture that coats your tongue, and none of the crisp, buttery crunch of roasted pecans that you'd expect on a Turtle. Overall, the whole experience was a huge let down. As a cinnamon roll lover and someone who was so dang excited to try this place, I was sorely disappointed. This is a great place and great location for a sweet little stop, whether you're on a date, hanging with friends or even want to take the kids out. I first saw this on my way to Salt + Straw and was already drooling over the concept because what is there not to love about customized cinnamon buns?? When I came back on another day, I was pretty turned off by the light color of the cinnamon buns, and overwhelmed by the sheer number of frosting + topping choices. The "examples/recommended flavors" also sounded weird and unappealing which didn't help - but I guess you can't go too wrong when mixing sweet things on cinnamon buns. I opted for chocolate frosting with strawberries + blueberries + brownie bits ($5.95 base for cinnamon bun plus additional cost for every topping). It was busy when we got there on a Saturday night so there was a bit of a wait for your order but all the buns were fresh out the oven. The cinnamon bun itself was better than expected despite the light color, toppings were good but frosting flavor was hard to distinguish. Buns were decent sized so they're good for sharing (max 2) but not too big to eat on your own. All-in-all, a solid 3.5/5 for me (rounded up for the "fun-factor" of this place). read more
