I don't know how good the food is. I could only rely on the posted reviews. Looked great, late hours, and tempting dishes. I came from Oakland to see a friend the other night and we went to Clementine's. We checked the web site to make sure they were open until 10:00 PM. We arrived at 9:15 to locked doors. The hours of business posted on the door confirmed what the web site stated. There must be a mistake, I thought. So, I called their number since I saw someone inside. I asked about their early closure and was told that they were doing some cleaning that involved harsh chemicals. Now I can understand the need for cleaning, especially in a restaurant. The part I don't understand is the lack of any kind of posting on the door or the web site to let customers know of a schedule change. I own a retail business and provide services to my customers. Whenever I cannot provide those services, I post signs in advance and post it on my web site so to not inconvenience customers. I wish I had the opportunity to eat at Clementin's and write a favorable review, but alas I drove there for nothing but a locked door. read more

I have to give zero stars. The customer service is no good. I got the sampler platter with Fried green tomato's , fried okra , hot wings and fried shrimp . The shrimp have a funky smell of if the had been left out of the fridge , the fried okra was ok. But the fried green tomato's did not have the tangy fried tomato taste it had no taste and the wings were so dried out as If they has been refried. I'm happy it was just the 1/2 platter . My husband got the banana pudding and it was just pudding and cookies and no bananas. Don't waste your time or money. The staff should be trained on custom service seriously . read more

My family and I love southern food and have been looking for a real authentic southern restaurant and we have found finally a great place! The price is moderate but totally worth it! Easy location not to far from freeway. Only saying this because if you don't live in the area it is worth the drive. There is a seperate bar area that has tv's and lots of seating for a little sports bar feel! Let's start with the dessert! Absolutely my favorite A la mode Peach cobbler! Great portion size served in a soup bowl with an even crumbly toasted crunchy crust that is to die for! They brown the top a little which gives it a light burnt taste that gives it that special kick! I did have dinner before dessert! It was a great choice! I had the prime rib dip sandwhich with sweet potatoe fries and coldslaw. The sandwhich had a horseradish spread very light with your choice of cheese! The juice served au jus was smokey and gave the perfect flavor to dip the sandwhich in. We were given cornbread and bisquits with butter while we waited for our meal. The corn bread wasn't as flavorable as i expected but the bisquit was huge and delicious! We ordered fried Okra for our appetizer it was delicious and came with dipping sauce called remoulade. My other family members ordered the fried chicken dinner that came with coldslaw and your choice of potatoes. They loved the mashed potatoes! The side of greens was also delicious. Last but not least Pecan pie topped with vanilla icecream was a big hit! The sweet tea was pretty good and one of the better teas we have had! Service was quick and our waiter was very nice. Well, it was time to go and this young waiter took our credit cards I asked him to please split the payment of $98.00 bucks now, let me tell you it is not the first time that happened. I notice this family of Afro American with a old lady in a wheelchair have been waiting to be sited and they were taking people to be sited that got there after this family so I told my friend let's give them our table, I got up and offered my table to them they were very thankful for what I did. I went inside the restaurant to check what happened, why it was taking so long, when I got in they told me that some one made a mistake charging my American Express the whole amount and charging my friends city bank card half!! I was not happy because happened already on the Fourth of July so I went inside looking for Natalie Tucker the manager, so I saw her and walked towards her I didn't realize I was entering in their kitchen there's no door that you can see is the kitchen so she came up to me very aggressive yelling at me get out of the kitchen! I did not realize I was in the kitchen, so I replied to her give me my credit card back! She told me to wait outside pointing her finger on my face! She walked to the back to find her waiter and waitress doing something in the computer I heard her telling them that She will take care of it, Natalie walked up to me she didn't seen me I was looking at them what they were doing I noticed she was shaking, barely could talked and gave me a bunch of receipts plus a business card that it was not clear what she was asking me to do writing on the back of this business card a phone number very confusing what she was doing I took the business card plus my credit card and walked away I was no happy the way she handle the situation I couldn't tell if she was under medication or drugs. On the fourth I notice her and she was acting similar to this evening. I love your restaurant, your service your music and your waiters and waitress are great but Natalie Tucker today really disappointed embarrassed me too the way she treated me as a guest of your business. Delicious breakfast. I only visited once but my fiancee is a frequent visitor when he used to live in the area (he loves their eggs Benedict!!). I ordered the banana fosters french toast. It was ok...not the best i've had, was a bit bland and stiff. Coffee was delicious! Came here this morning for a quick breakfast with the friend. The restaurant is huge! But it wasn't crowded when I got there at 10am. They have weekday breakfast specials from 7-11am. They're a steal! $6-8 dollar deals. I got a half order of the crab cake benedict with a side of country potatoes. It was pretty good. The potatoes were very crispy on the edges. We now call this the House of Fry. It's a chain, it's all about fried food, and for what it is, it's great. It's like a Southern Fried TGI Friday's, with huge, elaborate drinks of varying quality, service from young but enthusiastic (at our one visit so far) servers, and did I mention the quality of the fry here? It's good. I was SUPER psyched to enjoy a Cheat Meal of fried chicken and waffles. OWAIT The WAFFLE! This was without a doubt the best waffle I've had in my life. They put some almond flavoring in the batter, and it is AMAZING. Light and fluffy yet dense and crispy and my only complaint was a sticky table, weirdly, because I didn't get NEARLY enough syrup for the waffle and chicken combo. When coming here, be prepared for a bit of a wait if you don't time it well, and loads of screaming kids throughout the restaurant, it's clearly a family joint. Anytime I want fried, I'm coming back. We visit this neighborhood restaurant with our group from work often. Perfect for parties! Menu is varied and always delicious! Their breakfasts are fab and filling. You'll have to watch out now when ordering to-go from this place. I always come here, the food and service are always great, except today. Today I decided to order to go, and the one who took my order over the phone (she's also one who stands by the cash register to reception people into the restaurant, and answer phones) was new, and she took several minutes before she could locate on her terminal menu the breakfast side of fired chicken item I was ordering. I don't fault her for this, because she's new. But she kept making mistakes when she would repeat the order back to me, including her hearing me say, chicken "breasts," when instead I was saying chicken "thighs." I thought maybe at first that it was my Filipino pronunciation of English words that she had difficulty understanding, because at first she was mishearing me say "sides" for "thighs" -- but then she later mistook "thighs" for "breasts," and those two words don't sound anywhere alike. It seemed she was half-paying attention or intentionally pretending not to understand me over the phone. And then, when I picked up my order, I opened the package to check the contents, and I found that the rice that accompanies the gumbo entree was missing. I found at that the kitchen did prepare the rice in a to-go container, but she neglected to include that container in the plastic bag she tied so tight I had to rip it open to check the contents. Additionally, she forgot to include in my order the eggs I ordered over the phone, despite her having asked me over the phone how I wanted the eggs done. I had to wait a few more minutes for the eggs to get added. She gave me the eggs on the house as consolation for not getting my orders right, but when I got home, it was only one egg instead of the two I ordered! Bottom-line: there's now a new employee at Clementine's who may get your order all wrong, so be sure to check the bag of food she gives you when ordering to go! read more

Had the blackened Ribeye. Cooked just right. Veggies and potato were very good also. Server was on top of everything. The dining experience was excellent. Prices seemed reasonable for the area. Did not have soup, salad or desert as I was too full from my dinner. The only thing that could have been a little bit better was a bread basket. Just left the restaurant and it's a beautiful Sunday morning. I eat here often with my coworkers from San Ramon hospital nurses. Actually ate here yesterday Saturday morning 5-15-2021 and had a great sandwich so I decided to return today. Unfortunately I was alone so the set me at a table in that back of the restaurant. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they were try to disperse the customers evenly. Boy was I wrong!!!! I normally come with my white and Asian coworkers so of course I get excellent service but today I came alone a measly little black girl and got the worst service. Sat in the back of restaurant and was not waited on accordingly. I actually had to call the front desk of the restaurant to get someone to acknowledge me for my check and to go box. I was later told that my waitress was on Break! Ok what does that mean!!!!!! Someone should be covering her station. When I asked to speak to the manager she was very nonchalant and told me she had just gotten to work like I cared! This has to be one of the WORST customer service experience I've encountered. Accountability and owning up to your mistakes is all it takes to law things right! Maybe I should be a tad bit darker or a tad bit lighter to get the proper response for such lack of service. My money is a green as the next and my expectations of excellent customer service is the same. NOT PERFECT service but the best that you can provide. I did not receive that today.! Definitely will NEVER eat here again not because of my waitress but because the poor management and their poor attempt to rectify the situation and take ACCOUNTABILITY! The waitress deserves a lunch break and her customers should be taken care during the process. Black, White, Green, Purple we all deserve the same service which my surrounding tables received. Girlfriends and I (total of 12) came here for some Mardi Gras fun this past Tuesday. Several of us have already been to Clementine's for breakfast a few times, but this was our first time for dinner and drinks. Our big group ordered many dishes off the regular menu, several had the Mardi Gras dinner special for $24.99, and plenty of $5.00 Hurricane's were had. I ordered the crab cake appetizer along with a side of fries. My meal was....meh, but I'm not surprised. Our breakfasts weren't anything special so I did not have high expectations for the food. The crab cakes were similar to the frozen ones you can pick up from Safeway.... Even Costco has better frozen crab cakes. Service was on the slow slide but we presume it's because the restaurant was packed with customer's celebrating one last hurrah for Fat Tuesday. So why 3 stars instead of 1 or zero? Although service was slow at times, our server, Benito, did his best in taking care of our large group. He was lively and pleasant... and he accommodated our group by splitting the check for everyone. Stopped in for a bite and drinks in the bar. We shared the taco tuesday tacos and a combo appetizer platter. All of the food was fine, just not really flavorful or spunky. I ordered the French onion soup. It was horrible. It wasn't hot, and the cup was so small that there was only about 4 tablespoons of soup. The bread was not sour dough and cheese on top was bad. I ordered Diet Coke and it was flat, and they said they couldn't fix it. My dining companion order the BLGTA -or something like that- sandwich. The bread on top was burned, and the bread on the bottom wasn't even toasted. The bread was also a cheap white bread. Over all it didn't taste good, and I won't be coming back. read more

Went to Clementines for breakfast with my family. I cannot comment on the food because we ordered and then waited for an hour only to be told that one of the items we order they were out of now. At this point we were done. We left paying for the coffee and tea we had. We explained why we were leaving only to be given the excuse there was a large party before us. Not wanting to be unreasonable we said if we had been told there was going to be a long wait at the beginning we could have made a decision to either stay or go somewhere else. Clementine's ruined my wife's Mother's Day brunch. Was told it was 45 min wait for 2 people. Great. Understandable. This was at 11:10am. No problem. They took our name and number and said they would call. 12pm. We go check how much longer. No big deal. Different hostess says oh we lost the list with your name (along with about 3 other groups. Finally got seated and ordered food at 12:20pm. 1:10pm comes around, we see other people seated after us (larger groups) get their food first. Pretty annoying but they're busy. 1:15pm, different waitress brings a to-go order to a couple seated next to us. It wasn't theirs. They send it back. 4 minutes later our waitress, who was very sweet, came by and said the order was accidently placed as a to-go. Food came out over and hour after ordering. I know understand it was busy but still totally unacceptable with the amount of mistakes. I maybe saw one management person helping but everyone was running around aimlessly. Definitelt do not come here on a holiday, as the staff was not organized enough to handle the customers. We were not the only ones waiting. I saw a couple get their food and then wait 15 min for utensils, just staring at their food. They asked three times. Anyways, I'm pretty let down by this experience. Staff was friendly but none of them were on the same page and over 2 hour wait for seating and food is ridiculous. We ended up taking the food to go but the eggs benedict was already well cold and my wifes scramble was the same and zero flavor. What a wasted day. read more

I really enjoy live music and my recent experience at Clementines was made even better by the trio that was playing during the Easter Brunch. The food was good as was the service - I had the vegetarian omelet and the giant biscuits (yum) as well as chicory coffee. Our waiter was pleasant and efficient but the music was really great. I can not say enough positive things about this casual, New Orleans-comfort-food-spot here in the bay. This is one of our favorite spots when we're missing New Orleans. The food is great - always hits the spot, always decent prices or specials. Adult beverages are always good. We've enjoyed many events that they've held...live music or seasonal events. And on top of all that, the staff is awesome. We always have at last one staff member recognize us and take care of us...again, much like southern hospitality. ;-) read more

Well, the 25 turned into 45. Still, no prob. It's mother's day right? Ok, here's where the illness starts. Hostess offers the 6 person table in the corner at the bar. Can't accept that. She says the wait will be longer. After 30 more minutes my son goes to get the manager. She comes out with the right words. Solution, they put 2 tables together at the bar. Manager assures us that we'll be getting A1 service. Ok fine. After 25 minutes, we get an order in. Sheeze... To make this story longer. My wife's food is bone cold. That's right... IT'S MOTHERS DAY AND MY WIFES FOOD IS COLD!!! Need I say more. The Mrs. Played it real cool. She just sent the meal back for a refund, but she wanted to talk to the manager, who was clearly afraid. I'd hate to speculate, but she did not come to talk to us. The fellow that did talk to us, did not care. It wasn't about the money. It's about a great place with bad management. The servers are fine. Came here for lunch with colleagues. Plenty of parking and that's the only positive thing about this review. The menu is quite diverse from appetizers sandwiches and meals. The group got the appetizer sampler which consisted of fried Cajun chicken wings, fried green tomatoes, fried okra, fried shrimp, And celery and carrots. The fried green tomatoes were bland it needed salt and seasoning, the fried okra was bland it needed salt and seasoning, the chicken wings I did not taste but my colleague said it needed seasoning, the only good thing on the sampler platter was the carrots and celery. My colleague let me taste his gumbo. It was bland and topped with Cajun rice. The Cajun rice was bland and tasted like uncle Ben's converted rice -blah. Two of my colleagues got the prime rib sandwich both complained the beef was not seasoned it and dry, salad was OK. My other colleague got the Fried shrimp poor boy was OK my other colleague got the fried oyster poorboy was OK. I got the barbecued shrimp. The barbecue shrimp was the worst, shrimp was not fresh and was swimming in an oil of non-tasty oil covered with French bread. The shrimp was not seasoned, the entire dish was greasy oily and not seasoned was horrible. There was a chunk of French bread sitting on the dish which was horrible I had a side of red beans and rice which was not seasoned - it had no Cajun seasoning and the rice was dry and tasted like uncle Ben's converted rice with some sort of Cajun seasoning m....really bad. Either we had this restaurant on a bad shift today or this food is really terrible. To top it off I had stomach pains in the afternoon after this meal. I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

This is a Cajun/South cuisine. We are very lucky to have a restaurant in our area. Nice restaurant, lots of seating, booth and tables and a bar where they play live music Friday and Saturday nights. Service was great, very attentive staff. We ordered beignet which was skinny and not as fluffy as the ones we ate in New Orleans- 2 stars. Shrimp po boy- was like a burger with lettuce and tomato- 2 star. Smoked salmon with rice - 3 stars coz the salmon was not smoked to perfection but very good portion size. I went there with some friends and I tried the jambalaya. The chicken in the jambalaya was unedible, tasted really old and I had to spit it out. Some rice grains were hard as if it had been sitting all day. My friend ordered seasoned fries, but they were everything but seasoned. Service was excellent though. read more
