Like, how cute is it to get My Melody (Hello Kitty's friend) hand painted and surrounded by cute, pink and sparkles??? This was my first time getting gel x (non-acrylic nail extensions), and letting someone design fingers based on a picture of a Sanrio character. Aaaaand I would totally go back and do it again. The studio is clean and the nail artists are patient and creative. Queenie did my nails and I feel like she looked into my soul and understood what I was looking for and read my personality in order to match my nails--subtle design and work appropriate, not too flashy with the length, and cute. It's only been a week since I got my nails done and I really wanted to write a review to share the cuteness so I'm hoping it lasts through the month. I come to her every month with a design I'd like and she never fails to deliver. She is very detail oriented and never one to half ass her work. Every nail needs to be the same length and every brush stroke must be perfect. She has done my nails for every birthday, my proposal, bts concerts and will be doing them for my wedding as well. If you are looking for legit Japanese design nails this is the place to go! I usually get gelx nail extensions because they are durable and they last longer. I go to the gym 5 days a week. I haven't had any problems with my nails breaking or snagging. They use quality stuff and they take their time working on the design. I've had my current set for almost 5 weeks now and all the jewels are still intact. However, I don't suggest waiting that long. I just haven't had the time to go back. Had a Gelx manicure with Queenie and she was very nice and there's tvs behind the nail techs so you can watch Netflix while getting your nails done! It took about 3 hours and the results were amazing. I had thin nails and let her know ahead of time and she was very gentle and careful! The only thing I noticed that kind of made me uncomfortable was the cleanliness of the nail stations. Everything was covered and caked with nail dust, which is understandable but it was to the point where it seemed like the stations were rarely ever cleaned especially the little slot they have in their desks where the UV light is. I put my hand in and all I could feel is a bunch of dust and nail dust inside so it definitely seems like it's not cleaned after each customer. read more

I asked for a cool tone ash gray and he delivered. At first it may look too purple in my pictures but regardless it's such a pretty color! It's meant to tone out the yellow and the purple comes out after my first wash which gave me the prettiest ash gray. I'm so obsessed with my new hair! When I arrived, the stylist I booked wasn't there, and they assigned someone else, claiming he was better. Once seated, he doubled the quoted price despite my prior estimate. After a couple of bad nail salon experience (spent over $100) in Pasadena, I chose to go to Royalty Salon (for Japanese gel nail) and requested Queenie because her names was called "the best"from a lot of people on the review. The salon passed me her number, so we communicated through directly by text. It was 1/9/23 which is 2 weeks before the actual appointment I made on the 23rd. On the 23rd, I showed up a few mins before10am, but lights were off and nobody was there. A few mins later, a girl showed up and asked me if she could help. I told her about my appointment and she called Queenie. Queenie told her to tell me the system was down so she lost all of her appointment details. 20 and plus mins later, she showed up. Super frustrated and in rush. Without any apology, she started man-handling my hands and fingers. That was right after I had a conversation with Cathy (the girl who was very gentle and nice, started removing my old gel nail while we were waiting for Queenie) about how much I don't appreciate rough treatment. I was humiliated and confused because I didn't know why I had to be treated that way. We've exchanged conversation with actual Queenie's phone number, so she should have had the appointment info on her phone, even if the system was down, she should have our text conversation on her phone. My confusion turned into extreme anger and disappointment when she started filing my fingers in extremely harsh way at the end and actually hurt a few of them. It was swollen and painful for 3 days!!! I don't care how good of an artist she is, but if she can't treat people right especially when she's getting paid, and the mistake was actually on her side, she's nobody to me. I texted Salon about this issue immediately after this, but I haven't heard from them after a few text exchange. I paid about $130 for this treatment. I was going to swallow this and move on, but I wondered how many people are being treated like this and don't say anything. Please do not man handle people's hands and fingers. Treat other's hands and fingers as if they are yours. And please fix the system. read more

Absolutely blown away by both Neo and Yolanda's work each time I'm here-- I don't think I've ever met hair stylists who can take what you want and make it better than the photo you show. If you get the chance, definitely also try out the nail service! I love that Kathy is super meticulous with her work. They also have lots of fun colors from Japan/ Korea and cute designs that you won't find at other nail salons. I have high standards for the treatment, result, and price of my hair and nails--this is the only place that does both at a luxury level for a very reasonable price.
