I have spent so many hours getting my nails done with Queenie. Royalty is a brand new spot in old pas and is down the block from the Tiffany store. It's across the street from the de lacy at parking structure which makes it very easy. My most recent visit with Queenie was during the soft opening at Royalty and I'm actually excited that this might be my one stop shop for my nails and blowout needs. For people who are specific about nail art stuff, it's the type of place that won't put gel all over crystals so you lose the facets and end up w a ball of bubbly gel over crystals. It's well sealed and I've never lost a crystal. Sometimes I don't have a reference photo and will just want to apply a bunch of doodads to my nails and she definitely gets the vibe I'm going for. I saw another nail person there making demo nails and it was definitely cool- not your typical art but the skill and clean lines were obvi. Highly recommend this new nail salon that just opened! Everything is very clean with modern chic decor. I was 20min late to my appointment, obviously its best not to be disrespectful of everyones's time because then that can also cut in to the next client's appointment etc, but my nail tech was still sweet and understanding that traffic exists. Very professional, and the appointment didnt feel rushed or like she tried to cut corners to make up for lost time. I got hard gel overlay on my natural nail. I have gotten this before because depending on how quickly your nail grows it can last for 4-5 weeks without peeling off like regular gel at other salons. I came in with a set already on, so with removal plus new set and detailed design on every nail and photos afterwards the whole appointment took about 1.5 hrs for a very reasonable price. I am pretty picky with my designs and I love the attention to detail my tech had and how willing and accommodating she was to work with me to make what I envisioned in my head come to life just right IRL. All the artists are very talented and routinely complete training at least once a month to continuously update and improve their technique and design repertoire, so no matter which one helps you they're all very equally and consistently talented. When scheduling, the manager did not think to mention that my "very good and accurate" manicurist was a brand new trainee. She did not know the equipment, basic technique, or what to use. She was constantly directed by two other manicurists who sat on each side doing nails for other clients. Halfway through, seeing how long it was taking, I mentioned that I had 30 min left, which was acknowledged, but didn't change anything. After she took over 50 minutes just to remove gel nails, still leaving some residue, it was obvious that the remaining job (filing, cuticle, nail polish, etc) would take additional 2+ hours. At the end, the manager did say "sorry", but while charging me, had a nerve to chastise me that I should've allowed one to one and a half hours for gel manicure. Which is the exact time I originally planned for, not for 50+ minutes just for gel removal. It is not the manicurist fault. I am all for people learning and training, but i believe I should've been told by the manager that my manicurist is a new trainee, when I scheduled the appointment. read more

The staffs were super welcoming and friendly, greeted us with a smile. The store was bright and extremely clean. I decided to get my hair done since I was waiting anyways, my hairstylist Gee was really professional, little did I know he was actually the owner which I found out later on... I had a regular mani/pedi provided by two different technicians. The manicurist (light pink hair) did an adequate job of applying the polish, but badly damaged the nail surface by using an electric buffer (intended for gels or acrylics) as well as a very coarse buffing block on the nail surface. I asked her not to buff but she ignored my request. The polish started chipping the day after the manicure. When I removed the polish my nails were dull and visibly abraded. It will take months for the damage to grow out. The pedicurist (light lilac hair) was awful. It was her last appointment and she obviously wanted to finish in a hurry. She did no callus removal on my feet and only APPLIED ONE COAT OF POLISH. When I asked her to apply two coats she refused to comply, saying "it won't make any difference at all." Just terrible, terrible service. read more
