    Shrimp Mozambique

My wife and I hadn't been to The Clipper in thirty years. We both wanted a Portuguese meal and they were open and didn't need reservations. The tables were well spaced. My wife had the steak and eggs and it was a nice sirloin in a spicy gravy. I had the shrimp Mozambique. The sauce was very good with a lot of garlic. The French fries are hand cut and very good. We both enjoyed our meals and will be back much sooner.

Exceptional service. John the head waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. The restaurant was very clean. We can't wait to come back with our family to try other dishes.

I had much higher expectations for this place. After reading all of the reviews I was ready to spend $60 with myself and my girlfriend and have a good meal (considering we don't drink alcohol just water). When we got here it seems much more formal inside than you would expect and we were not dressed for the occasion. My cousin ordered the Bife a Casa, I suggest to stray away from this because they pulverize the meat to a flat! The chourico was great and my surf and turf was amazing! Our dates both got pork aletejana (sorry if I misspelled that) they claimed the sauce to be a little greasy and oil tasting. Overall my food I would rank 4 stars but my guests weren't pleased.

Thanks John and wait staff and cooks. It was a great portugeese dining experience. we had steak portugeese sausage shrimp cows cheese with hot sauce on the side wonderful bread....It was all awesome.I would advise yelpers and people visiting battleship cove which is right around the corner to go to this relaxed lovely spot. The food is top notch.very friendly wait staff. I've never had a Portuguese dinner before and I am glad I did. I know I'll be back next time for sure. And again John thanks for the kindness and fast service. It was much appreciated by me and my family......great day !!!!

Ordered take out . I ordered shrimp Mozambique over the phone . She was kind and courteous but never gave me a price . I arrived at the clipper walked to counter and waited. She went and got my food and said $19 . I was a little surprised. When I got home the portions seemed a little off for a $19 plate . The food was decent sauce was oily and had a ton of garlic but heat wasn't bad . Shrimp were shelled and De veined which is always a plus. And rice and potatoes were ok. I came here because people say it's the best shrimp Mozambique. It's not the best but it was decent . For $19 however I could get better elsewhere.

Large plate. The sauce had flavor, I asked for olives. It wasn't I lucked in the dish

Was my first experience with Portuguese food at a restaurant. It was on a Sunday not busy at all actually we were the only people there at one point but the service was good the food I'm not sure if it's my style but I did like the sauce that was in the chicken. The couple we were with absolutely love that place and go all the time maybe I'll give it a second chance but my first time I will say it was good, wasn't my favorite dish! I will try the shrimp mozimbque if we go back. Super clean and near establishment. Not much parking though

We regularly come to Fall River for this food. I get the Bife A Casa and desert. It's delicious. John and the staff are wonderful!

Great local Fall River fish market and seafood takeout joint. Excellent, fresh seafood selection…read more I picked up some nice shrimp, a piece of salmon and a dozen quahogs for chowder, Rhode Island style, my favorite. Friendly, helpful staff . It's likely family run, which are the best. Service was fast and responsive. Ambience? What can I say? It's a fish market. It had fish market ambience in spades. That works for me. They offer a good variety of fried seafood, plus stuffies and crab cakes. There may be a couple of tables to eat at but I don't recall. Only on street parking is available, but they are quick, so you don't need to park for long. I will return every time I visit Fall River on business. Unfortunately, that will not be often enough

All the food/ seafood items were fresh and tasty. Scallops were especially good. Seafood platter…read morecontains fish, scallops, shrimp and whole clams. My only complaint was that the clams were in the small side any not enough of them. But everything else was if generous proportion. Too many French fries, I just never can eat that many and French fries don't reheat well. Oh, they don't take credit cards or debit cards, only cash. Do come prepared. I didn't but the allowed me to pay next time. Now that's faithful service. I must look trustworthy, which I am. I will happily return with plenty of cash this week and get some more seafood!

It definitely has the little clam shack vibes that makes the experience feel even more authentic. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. I ordered a clam chowder cup and a hot lobster roll. I don't know if it was because I was there in the winter, but the lobster roll was generally affordable, running you only a bit over $27 which is almost unheard of these days. And they didn't skimp out on the meat too ! The lobster roll was filled to the brim and so delicious. The clam chowder was also incredible. I also love that they have a little market in case you want to make any of their seafood at home ! Will definitely become a staple when I come back to visit my parents.

I went on a rainy Monday around noon and there was still a steady flow of customers. It seems to be a pretty popular spot. The staff is all very friendly. The soups were served to us immediately after paying. The New England Clam Chowder was good. Nice amount of clams and very creamy. I had never had Rhode Island Clam Chowder before and this seemed like the place to try it. The clear broth was surprisingly flavorful but I still prefer New England. My girlfriend and I ordered a good amount and the food came out pretty quickly. My favorite was the kung pao calamari. The squid was fried perfectly and having the sauce on the side was nice as it didn't leave the breading to get all soggy and I had control over how sweet it would be. The stuffed Quahogs tasted good but I feel like I tasted more of the stuffing over the actual shellfish. It still tasted good, but I feel like I should've gotten more shellfish. We were told they ran out of shells to serve them on so the presentation was off, but they were still tasty. The lobster rolls were both good. They were $27 which seems pretty steep to me but they were actually on the cheaper side compared to other places we saw around Newport. The lobster tasted fresh and the bread was good. They were solid lobster rolls. The food was all solid, but for the price I wasn't wowed.
