Delicious icecream! Fish and chips are expensive for what you get, Crispy chicken burger is okay- nothing great or exceptional

I'm so happy to finally have found and tried this gem of a burger joint in Newcastle! Don't let the outside fool you.. the burgers here are some of the best in the area. Small, family-run business cooking burgers to order - what more could you ask for?! My favorite so far has been a tie between the sriracha burger (sriracha aioli, onion ring, and more) and the sweet rain burger (fig jam, bacon, and more)!! Amazing flavor combinations, and since the burgers are always made to order, the meat is always nice and fresh. They also have lots of options to choose from beyond a standard beef burger... a huge plus as my boyfriend doesn't eat beef. They have seafood baskets and chicken options that are actually delicious - which is typically hard to find at places that specialize in burgers. The fries, regular and curly, are always fresh and delicious. You've got to get their fry sauce too! On top of all that goodness, they have amazing milkshakes and ice cream to really just top off your meal. With COVID and the increasing takeout orders, I highly recommend calling in advance as they are seemingly always busy (which makes my heart happy)! The young girls that work here are so incredibly sweet, no matter how busy or overwhelmed they may be. From the service to the food, give this place a try if you haven't already. Unfortunately my last visit was a bad one. My daughter ordered a hotdog and her bun had mold all over it. When I brought it up to their attention the worker just asked if I wanted a refund or a new hot dog... my kid was hungry so I said a new one... by the time they were done making her a new one we were all finished with our food and she didn't even like her hotdog. We were in the area to go to Resonate Brewery in the same shopping center and were recommended by my cousins to try Cloud 9. The prices are a little bit higher than what you would expect from a smaller burger shop. We got two burgers to share. Their sweet rain burger is one of their popular sellers and it has a unique taste. The presentation isn't super pretty but the burgers were good! They also have ice cream and milkshakes. They don't allow indoor seating an hour before closing but they do have outdoor tables. read more

Bizarrely awful place. I was in the area hiking and stopped by. Tab for our party of two adults and three kids was $100, and that didn't include sides and drinks for most. It seemed steep, but I figured worth it for decent food. But, it wasn't, and we had to wait over an hour to find that out. There was another party eating when we arrived, and one person waiting. The waiting person sat for a long time and was ultimately delivered the wrong order. We waited over 45 minutes with no food despite no one else being there. We eventually asked if we could have food as it became available so the kids could eat. Food was given about 15 minutes later. Burgers were incredibly overcooked, thin patties - basically inedible - and one not even the right order. In the one hour we waited, three other parties arrived, and none had their food delivered by the time we left. I don't understand how a place stays in business with substandard service, substandard prices, and substandard food. Not exaggerating: I'd rather eat a burger from Burger King. read more

I've been pre and post covid. I find the burgers a bit greasy. Sometimes you need your fix (yum!) and sometimes you regret it and feel sick. They have an affordable kids menu and yummy milkshakes. Don't forget to order your fries which come separately. I usually get Mac and cheese bites too. When I went, I had ordered online but they never received my order. They were quick to acknowledge the mistake and make my order for me. I waited outside because the inside area is small, and indoor seating was all closed (went when indoor seating was closed by governor so not sure if it's since reopened). There were a few tables outside but uncovered so plan accordingly if raining. We just ate in the car! read more

If you want an extremely overpriced burger with the majority of the burger filled with cabbage and lettuce, 1 tomato slice, and a small meat patty, then this place is for you. This place was good a few years ago but has declined over the years. I kept on giving them my business, but not any longer. You can get a much better burger at Burger King and save $$. read more

This neighborhood shopping center took a dip back some years ago. It still is a nice area and I have seen a few new businesses pop up that are interesting. Cloud Burger being one of them. The place is clean and they have other alternatives than just burgers. I of course had the burger since it's a burger joint Cloud burger reminds me of the old nostalgia burger joints that you see around the south end. The Pick Quick in Fife, Frugals In Auburn but a more open menu and a place to sit down. They have ice cream as well. I didn't have any this time but it looks pretty good. So let's get on to the burger. The fries you get a few choices. Curly, sweet potato or regular and I did the regular. The fries were good. Nothing super fancy but they are straight up fries and they give you some fry sauce. The burger was cooked well, nice cheese, great sauce on it with a really good char taste. I was impressed. You can always tell a good burger when you have to break out the pinky burger kickstand to catch the sauce. I will defiantly be back as I want to try that Picnic burger. It sounds so dirty but might be a good brunch after a night of beers. Good job Cloud Burger you may bring this old shopping area back to life. My first experience with Cloud 9. My office ordered from here, they all said they liked it. Everything looked great on the menu. Easy to read and what not. I ordered a double cheeseburger with onion rings and mozz sticks. I don't know if whoever placed the order did it incorrectly, or if the restaurant sent fries instead of the onion rings. But, I didn't get them. The burger is not small by any means. I only finished a little more than half of it. However, it was very much on the dry side. Just reminded me a lot of Burger King's "charbroiled" burgers. The mozz sticks were fine. I'm sure they would be pretty good if they were fresh, but since they were delivered, they were just OK. I am not sure if I would order from here again, maybe if I was eating in the restaurant. I definitely want to try one of those shakes. But overall, I was not really impressed. read more

Hubby saw this place and suggested we grab a shake. We walked in and the counter person acknowledged us and said she would be with us as she was putting together a drive thru order. While we waited, a teenager walked in. When the counter person finished what she was doing, she took his order WTF. My husband and I were clearly there first and waited patiently. Either the counter person is racist or just dumb (I am Asian and hubby is white); teenager who got attention before us was white. This is so not cool. This is not some fancy gourmet burger so don't expect it when you go. I got the Aloha Burger and it was very good. Better than expected! The burger was not dry at all, the right amount of sauce and tasted fresh. Service was good too. The prices are pretty high for what it is, but overall it's a good little neighborhood burger spot. One of the worst double cheese burgers I've had. I think that they think if your burger is messy it means it's good. Only a few mintues away from my place, this place is my go to for lunch! Easy parking and it's a chill place to just hang out! They have inside and outside seating, which is fun during summer to sit outside. It is nestled in a quiet neighborhood setting. The staff is friendly and easy to order. I went for the classic burger and my husband got the double bacon, we also got large fries as a side to share. Burgers and fries were both really good and tasted fresh. The prices were a bit high plus sides are separate cost. Overall, good place to hang out and grab lunch. read more

We're new to the Newport Hills neighborhood, but we always pass Cloud 9. One Saturday afternoon we were so hungry and just couldn't think of anywhere we wanted to go so we found ourselves at Cloud 9. I was a bit presumptive when thinking that this was going to be a so so burger, but honestly the options were quite good! Don't be fooled by the outside of the establishment, the burgers are quite delicious! I'm not typically a burger person but my boyfriend 100000% is! It was his turn to pick where to eat and we were going to be in Bellevue for the day so he went on Yelp and saw this place! He was hesitant at first because it wasn't a """nice""" place but I told him it was fine and that we should still try it. I ordered a bacon junior cheeseburger with a lettuce wrap, a small fry, a kids sprite and some mozzarella sticks and my boyfriend ordered a double cheeseburger with a large fry and a large coke. Our total before tip was about $37. I thought it was a little pricey but once I took a bite of the burger, I definitely knew it was worth it! The burger was so good! The patty had this really good charcoal taste, the fries were so crispy, and the mozzarella sticks were so cheesy and fresh! Three stars because my chocolate cherry milkshake was delicious. I ordered two crispy chicken burgers plain and got two previously frozen low quality chicken patties on a sesame seed bun with a single slice of fake cheese. This is basically McDonald's dollar menu chicken sandwich. So, not only was this $7.49 crispy chicken burger a ripoff, they didn't get the order right despite marking the wrapper as plain. The fries are nondescript. The fried mushrooms are good but not great. This place is WAY overpriced and the food quality doesn't support the menu prices. Tasty and spendy. Really good food. My favorite local burger place. Excellent shakes. And, they have sweet potato fries. Service is pretty good. This is quick service, not fast food. They prepare your food after you order, so it takes a few minutes. Atmosphere is pretty lacking. It's a cinder block building and the inside is spartan and cold. It's a bit spendy. Two burgers, two large fries, and 3 shakes came to $45. Still worth it. If the prices go up I'm not sure I'd come here anymore. read more

It's a nice burger place in the heart of Newcastle. Definitely nice in that it has their own parking spots and otherwise lots of ample parking from the shopping center directly behind them. The prices are a bit high. I usually get their oyster and chips with a blackberry milkshake! The milkshakes are all super delicious with just the right amount of sweetness and punch. The fries can be a bit salty and there could always be a bit more fried oysters in the entree, but otherwise is fine! Lots of burger and fried seafood options to choose from. I thought the menu items we had were delicious, and I like this old school mom and pop style burger shack as a concept, but that doesn't mean the experience was anywhere near perfect :/ Paid for a large onion ring and got a small. Ordered the Aloha burger and it came without the dang pineapple (that's sort of the attraction of the aloha burger). And no, didn't say anything about these easily fixable mistakes because the young cashier at the counter seemed uninterested and hassled. We were 1 of 3 SMALL groups about 20 minutes to closing time and she was sorta rushing to clean up shop. We all had to eat outside at dusk because she took it upon herself to put the chairs up on every last table in the dining room, and, best part, locked the door on us after delivering the food out to the picnic table. The girl who took the take out order somehow had an 'emergency' and did not start the order- so when we end up there, there is no order. She was right there- I didn't see or sense any emergency happening. During the call- kept asking me to repeat as if she couldn't hear what I was saying and giggling. Completely unprofessional. They have a huge variety of burgers, including garden, ground turkey, chicken breast, and the weird picnic sandwich burger. You might like it. I won't judge. Had high hopes but this place is not worth it. The burgers are just ok, the onion rings are good, but we didn't like the fries. Pretty spendy for the quality. I grew up in Newport Hills and have seen this venue go from a DQ, to a Herfy's, to vacant, and Cloud 9 Burgers is definitely the best restaurant that's lived in this little spot. They offer both basic and more artisan burgers, great fries, classic onion rings, tasty shakes, and great service. For how small the space is (and the fact that there's generally not a ton of people working there) you'd think that it would take a long time to get your food - but even when ordering 2 seemingly complicated burgers with fries and onion rings, we have never waited more than 10 minutes or so. I have been consistently pleasantly surprised by the swift service and great food. Overall, I'd say that Cloud 9 offers Red Robin quality (or better) food, with better service and a small town feel - I love it. Definitely my new go-to spot. read more
