Absolutely (coco) BOMB. This post tanning on the beach 10/10. We got the coconut sundae with mango, thai tea, pandan ice cream and fresh mango. It came in such an adorable coconut shell. The mango ice cream was my favorite flavor. And holy the fresh mango was sooo ripe and sweet. BLESS MANGO SEASON!!! The pandan and thai tea flavors were also good and all this for just $10 is actually A STEAL!! It was a good portion for 2 people :) It also came with coconut meat -- I wasn't a fan of it, but my friend was! Please come try!! We came on a Sunday afternoon, and it was packed! There is limited seating outside, but unfortunately we weren't able to get a spot.
After driving to Linda Vista to try out Coco Bomb, it makes sense to me that they opened up their second home in Convoy. I recently went to Coco Bomb with an interest in their ice cream. I love coconut flavor as it is already creamy and silky in texture. Many were enjoying their coconut ice cream bowl, so I wanted to do the same. You get three scoops of your choice ice cream. The mango sold out that day so we weren't able to try it! Our picks were the coconut, pandan, and Thai tea. My favorite had to be coconut, of course! This is a great place for your favorite Thai desserts as they even sell mango sticky rice, jelly desserts, and even drinks like coffee, pudding, and Ruam Mit. The service is friendly and seating is a bit limited, so I'm excited for their upcoming location to be open.
Wow.... what an amazing dessert spot to beat the heat! Such inviting, cute decor tucked away on the side of the street. Came in for their mango sticky rice and ended up with that and a scoop of their pandan ice cream to try. Both were SOOO amazing and not too sweet! The sticky rice was hot & fresh, while the mango was cold and perfectly sweet and ripe. It's one of my favorite desserts when done right! Such a nice sweet treat. The pandan ice cream was delicious as well and not too sweet. I want to come back to try their famous coconut sundae! The rest of the menu looks amazing as well
SOOO excited to find a place focused on Thai desserts!!! They have a large variety from drinks to modern and traditional desserts that are largely coconut themed. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating which is nice. Next time I'd like to try the coconut ice cream with peanuts and bread which is an old style street dessert! Sundae in young coconut - 5/5, definitely worth the splurge! I love that after finishing the sundae, you can eat the coconut meat inside. We got mango, coconut, and Thai tea ice cream scoops. The coconut is soo refreshing and the mango is very fruit forward without any artificial flavor or being a sorbet! Thai tea is on the sweeter side, but very delicious. Mango sticky rice - 5/5, the sticky rice is cooked well and not wet! The coconut sauce is not too sweet and the mangos were super sweet!!! They did justice to an iconic staple!
Love this place for their mango sticky rice, 10/10. What makes it is their coconut ice cream. It is the best coconut ice cream I've had! I first came across this shop at two different farmer's markets, the one in Little Italy and PB. I decided to go to the shop because I was craving it and wanted my fix. The quality at the shop and the booths at the farmers markets are all consistent and everything is delicious. I was excited to try their other ice cream flavors too. They let me sample two in the store and I tried their Thai tea and mango. To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of them. The mango one was too creamy and the Thai tea one didn't taste like Thai tea. Their coconut they've mastered to perfection though. Stick with the OG mango sticky rice combo, add ice cream, and you'll love it. The shop is small but there's plenty of parking in the back. We got our food pretty quickly too!
Absolutely love this adorable coconut themed dessert store. The mango sticky rice was pretty big in size and tasted perfect paired with the rice and condensed milk. The lot chong drink was also delicious and I loved the various toppings in the drink! Service was also phenomenal and the cashier helped answer our questions when deciding what to order
Parking is very tight and limited here. You can park on the right side where it says "30 mins," other than that I've seen other people park at the convenience store next door. Inside is very small, about 5 tables. Outside about a few. So, we placed an order for Thai iced tea, mango with sticky rice, and coconut sundae. We were lucky enough to find a table inside. The rush slowed down after 6:30 pm on a Saturday. Service was very friendly and they worked efficiently. Prices were fair. -Thai iced tea 5 - probably one of the best ones I've ever had. I recommend getting one with your dessert. -mango with sticky rice 5 - I love how bountiful the mangos are, usually I don't get this much. Mangos were sweet and the rice was good. -coconut sundae 5 - this was really good. We picked ube, coconut, and pandan. My favorite one was pandan. Ube has a more subtle flavor whereas the coconut and pandan have a stronger taste.
Coco Bomb is the best Mango Sticky rice you will have in SD! I was lucky enough to stumble upon their tent at the OB Farmer's Market and was blown away with how delicious this was. I've had many mango sticky rice desserts in SD but this one was phenomenal. The rice was perfectly cooked and flavored, and the mango was out of this world. The thai tea had a great balance of rich and creamy to sweet, and was such a good addition to the dessert. I will definitely be back!
Found out about Coco Bomb from the Hillcrest farmers market and wanted to visit their storefront to try other ice cream flavors! Service is quick and friendly. Sizable amount of seating available to enjoy your desserts. Make sure to account for the lack of parking provided. I got the coconut sundae with Thai tea, pandan, and mango icecream -- such a generous portion of fresh coconut, fruit, and coconut icecream. Highly recommend pandan flavor but all flavors are done really well. The sundae also comes with mango and coconut slices.
Mango and coconut? Say less. This was such a refreshing dessert especially on a hot day. I loved the incorporation of all the parts of a coconut in one dessert. It was so yummy and pleasing to the eye. Service was quick and accommodating when ordering (since it was my first time). It's a pretty small area but still with seats in almost every corner as well as outdoors! Definitely a try if you pass by!
This place is a small dessert place. They have several tables inside and several seats on the outside. There is also limited parking on the side street. We ordered the Coconut Sundae, Mango Sticky Rice, and Thai Tea. My boyfriend wanted to try their pudding, but they were sold out. They were also out of mango-flavor ice cream. You can pick three different flavors of ice cream for the sundae. I pick Ube, Coconut, and Thai Pandan ice cream. The coconut sundae was really good. The flavors were tasty and not too sweet. For the topping, I pick mango with condensed milk. The mango was fresh and sweet. Portion for the mango sticky rice was pretty big. It didn't take too long for the order to be ready. The staff was nice. This place is worth trying if you like mango and coconut desserts. It is too bad we don't live in San Diego. I would definitely go back to try other items on their menu.

if cocobomb has 1000 fans, i am one of them. if cocobomb has 0 fans, im dead dramatic sorry but i feel like this place is such a hidden gem -- they have the best ice cream ever and they're so affordable. their coconuts are so fresh, the ice cream is so creamy and yummy, and they always have super tasty mangoes. they also have super cute aesthetic and the staff are always so friendly and willing to change anything in case you don't like something. i've come here sooo many times and they've never disappointed :)) read more

I would actually make time to go back to this place just for the coconut shake/drink. Light, coconutty and perfect. Tasted like they just effortlessly knew it is the right amount of everything. The ice cream also was so smooth and tasty without being too sweet or heavy. Loved this place. Parking is tricky and GPS led us through an ally to get here but I'd do it again. Very kind staff and adorable outdoor seating area. read more

This place is a cute whole in the wall, I didn't know about it until someone recommended it. It gets pretty crowded around the evening time luckily I got there before the crowd. The seating outside is nice on a sunny day with fun decor to look at. The sticky rice with mango is the best thing I've ever had. Ice cream is great also but the sticky rice was the highlight. Would definitely come here again. read more

Been here more than 6 times since returning to the area and WOW! What an amazing addition to the area. The staff are super nice and friendly, as well as happy to be there. We LOVE the coconut sundae! We usually add some mango + sticky rice for the delightfully rich flavors. The coconut tastes amazing...how do they find the best ones?!? The parking is very limited so best if you park and walk over. We usually order for pick up and have one person just run in and grab it! They do a great job packing to go orders!! I absolutely dieeeed when eating the coconut icecream. It's honestly the best thing you'll ever have. It's smooth, not too sweet and feels fresh! The mangos are always sweet. They do a lot of farmers markets so go to their instagram to see which ones. I went to the actual location for the first time and it was small but super cute. Parking is confusing at and hours are short but overall the trip is worth it. read more
A hidden gem at the farmers markets and worth the drive to get to. Wish they had a location closer to downtown cause I would go every week. The flavors are so rich and they don't skimp out on using the ingredients to get the bold flavor of coconut, Thai ice and pandan. today I visited coco bomb and ordered these mango with sticky rice and Thai I don't even know drink, here's what I have to say. The service was mid. They asked me for a tip and that made me mad. The food was diabolically disgusting one bite of the mango, sticky rice and I felt like puking all over the floor. One sip of that drink made me feel like I had to get up and fist fight whoever was back there I will not be returning and the presentation was not even halfway good. I don't even know what I received because it looked nothing like what I ordered whoever is making this up and saying that is good deserves jail time. The ambience of outside of the building was dirty and sketchy and ghetto. and it low-key smelled bad. read more

I love this place. The ice cream alone is amazing AND it's dairy free I've gotten the vanilla sundae with mango plenty of times, but I always go back to 2 scoops of the chocolate. The staff is always very friendly, and the aesthetic is very tropical with the plants and decor. read more

This place is a little gem full of yummy desserts. Small little inside and cute outdoor area. First time I came here was last week in the evening 30 minutes to close. Service was great and food was delicious. Mango sticky rice - a must try Ball coconut soup ( not sure of the name)- delicious Coconut ice cream in the coconut shell- a must try This place was so good.. The coconut water is very natural and refreshing but the ice cream is not very impressive (maybe I didn't order the right flavor). The store is full of people but small, so it's hard to find a seat. I don't think I will come again if not nearby and hot. read more

I went here to meet with a friend, and it was confusing finding parking. I just parked in the lot to the left of Coco Bomb and hoped for the best. Thankfully I didn't get towed, so it was all good. Coco Bomb seems to be a Thai dessert shop, judging by the dessert selection and the employees. Since I grew up in a Thai household, it felt like home to me. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating was very cute! I love the decorations. I ordered Bua Loy, which is one of my favorite Thai desserts, but unfortunately they didn't have the ingredients needed to make it. So I ordered the mango and Thai tea ice cream in a cup. The cashier was friendly and polite, and we had a brief conversation about Thailand and my family being from there. When I received my ice cream, the cashier offered peanuts as a topping, since peanuts are loved by Thai people in all our foods. I love peanuts, so why not? It was very generous of them to offer it, I appreciate it! The ice cream was good, not too sweet and I could really taste the flavors. I think they used coconut milk instead of dairy, but it was delicious. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would go back! I need that Bua Loy to satisfy my cravings. read more
Small dessert store that has super pretty aesthetics. Lots of plants and greenery which made it a cute hangout dessert spot for friends. I went this weekend, but parking was a bit confusing for me. I parked on the side lot next to the shop. My friends and I got the coconut sundae to share. The coconut was super fresh and delicious. As was the mango slices that were super ripe sweet and juicy. The coconut ice cream was not too sweet and was vegan, so my lactose friend was able to enjoy it without worry. It came in a coconut which was super cute. Ice cream was more icy than smooth, like a sorbet. By the end of it, I was tired of the coconut ice cream. If I came again, I would try the mango sticky rice as I was a big fan of the mango and coconut slices. read more

This tiny shop has a straight-forward menu and some tasty treats, some of which seem to change depending on the season. The dining room has a couple of small tables and chairs, and there's an even smaller outdoor area that looks out onto Ulric Street...not the most pleasing of views. Parking can be a challenge because they don't have a dedicated lot, but we've seen people park at the Filiberto's next door. There isn't any street parking. We've stopped in a couple of times since moving into the neighborhood. Our first visit, my husband got the coconut sundae ($9) and I got a Thai Iced Tea with boba ($4.50, plus an extra $1 for the boba) and an order of Bar Bin (coconut pancakes, $6.50). We were able to snag a "table" on the outdoor patio - basically a couple pieces of plywood on top of an a-frame and some benches. It was hot that day, which meant the sundae and tea melted like crazy, but we had no trouble finishing either of them off. We liked the sundae much better than the tea. The flavor of the Thai Tea was fine, but I would not recommend the boba. It was so sticky it all clumped together and I don't think they sweeten their tapioca pearls even a little bit. I actually almost choked on a sip of tea when the boba clump lodged itself in the back of my throat. The Bar Bin - coconut pancakes - were perfectly chewy and a little crispy, with a subtle savory flavor. I bought them for me, thinking my husband would pass, but he surprised me by eating half of the order (they come in six). On our second visit, I went in to get a couple coconut cakes ($10) for a colleague's birthday celebration. The coconut cakes were a hit - fluffy cakes sandwiching a slightly sweet coconut cream center, with a few pieces of coconut meat included for good measure. It's just the cakes are tiny. It's a good thing I only needed to feed four women at this birthday celebration. We are fans of what they have to offer, and have been following their updates on Instagram to see what other concoctions they add to their menu. I can guarantee we'll be back. read more

I'm a huge fan of coconut ice cream and this spot was such a treat!! Parking can be hard, but once you get in there you've made it. I had the 3 scoop sundae with mango. Tried the coconut and mango ice cream which is dairy-free, vegan, and delicious!!! Not too sweet but still satisfying. The mango ice cream had chunks of mango in it. The best part was the mango on top which was the sweetest I've ever had. Not gonna lie, I wanted more!! Employees were sweet and offered to let me sample the pandan flavor. Inside is cute but small. Try to grab a seat but during busy hours expect to take it an eat it in the car lol read more

Many people on Red Note recommended this place. So we took our two ice cream lovers to this place to have a try. It was a blast! Tried coconut sundae with vanilla, chocolate and coconut ice cream scoops first (very traditional and safe choices made by my kids, ;)), and couldn't help ordering another sundae with three other flavors, mango, thai iced tea and pandan. All flavors were yummy!!! The only thing was the parking. Limited parking space even though we arrived around the closing time. But it is easy to walk in, grab your food and go. Highly recommended!! read more

Very cute ambiance but a little more messy than expected. Came here as a recommendation from a friend and everything they have is really delicious and refreshing! We only ordered their Coconut Milk Frappe, which has their coconut shavings on top. It was really delicious and light, perfect for the warm weather. The ambiance is cute, but it's just really chaotic looking inside and outside. There's a lack of a proper parking lot, but you can find parking on the sides. The store itself is cramped as well and the look is pretty messy looking, but they put a lot of greenery to make up for it. They don't seem to have restrooms in store so plan ahead. I tried to pay with Apple Pay, but unfortunately their Apple pay machine is broken so keep that in mind as well! read more

I had the coconut sundae, it was delicious and authentic. Made me miss traveling in Thailand and tasting all of the delicious treats it has to offer. It's not always easy finding a dairy free ice cream spot that is actually good and this one is officially at the top of my list when in SD. The location is small and parking is mostly street parking. I probably wouldn't recommend for large groups unless you are ordering to go. There is limited seating inside and outside. The staff were friendly and had our order ready in minutes. Definitely add this to your list as a must try especially if you like coconut. read more
Believe the hype! Coco Bomb is bomb af. I got the Coconut Sundae and added sticky rice. IIRC it was less than $2 to add the sticky rice on. So worth it. Coconut ice cream was so smooth and refreshing, and the sweetness/tang of the mango accompanied paired very will with the sticky rice of course. I can't wait to go back. read more
