When I got my dish, it was smothered in a very unappealing sauce. The pickled veggies were really sweet and look at that egg. You know that egg looks depressing. My friend and I came in on a Friday night to get dinner to go around 10 PM. We got a watermelon slushy, a peppercorn chicken with rice and ground pork with rice. The watermelon slushy had a nice flavor but was way too sweet especially with the lychee jelly that we also added to it. The peppercorn chicken and fried tofu also have really good texture and are well executed. Also, shaved ice is huge and I always share it with someone when I order it. Pro tip: you can get ice top ups if you run out and still have toppings leftover. Had to knock a star off because it definitely feels a bit pricey, but given its location, it's not too surprising. I stay away from the green onion pancakes because they're always kind of disappointing. Curry is average, if it's something you already know how to make, it's basically the same as from a box. This CoCo's cafe is in a nice spot that is fairly easy to find by either walking or driving. I am an Avocado Smoothie connoisseur so this may be a biased review. However, I am making my recommendation on CoCo's based on the Avocado Smoothie I had here. I ordered an Avocado Smoothie with half sugar and tapioca pearls as I normally do. The smoothie came out fairly quickly and it reminded me a bit of Boba Ninja in Berkeley. While it was not quite as good, I enjoyed it and finished the whole thing. They definitely used a real avocado as one would expect, and there is not too much of a sugary taste on top. The tapioca pearls needed work as I stirred much better ones during my tenure at Kung Fu Tea. More time stirring the pearls in the big metal pot pays dividends when you get to the bottom of the batch towards the end of the day.
