Made this account just to talk about how bad the food was. During my visit I ordered the 8oz steak entree with a side of Mac & cheese and mashed potato. As soon as I received the food I realized the Mac & cheese was just Kraft Mac & cheese microwaved and the mash potatoes were also microwaved with part of the mash being cold. I now understand why our local coco's closed down, I'm sure this location isn't gonna be around much longer. We were obsessed with the Asian chicken salad, the old dressing was so good, cocos even sold it separately. When we opened the to-go boxes at home, we noticed immediately that the chicken salad was not the same version we loved in years past. The dressing was very dark brown and thick like a gelatin marinade. The old dressing was light brown, spicy/sweet/and slightly creamy. This new dressing was sweet/very spicy and acidic. The chicken was different too, rather than sliced strips, they were square chunks and there were only a few pieces in the salad. At 2:30 am I woke up and threw it all up. Whatever is in that dressing made my stomach churn all night. To be honest, if it didn't cost so much, I would've trashed it and found alternative plans for dinner. Also, the cookies suck now. And they don't give fresh baked rolls with the salads like they used to. The lady gave me 2 slices of wheat toast with butter. $50 for 2 salads (with hardly any meat), a pie, and a cookie. Staff was nice and customer service was good. Food was like a 1980s school cafeteria in quality. Best of luck to the staff when they eventually need to find a new place to work when this location closes like the others. read more

I was out at 6 am and Coco was the only place open other than a donut. They have a very large parking lot. When I approached it appeared very dark but it was open. I was seated in a reasonable time. The menu is very basic so I did a Build Your Own. The omelet was heavy and the country potatoes were a bit cold and had lots of oil. The onions had a chemical taste. It was served with pancakes that were very good. The high light was I had a waitress who had 35 years of experience and was super talkative and friendly. The interior has not been updated in years reminds me of a Norms IHOP or Dennys. While I was not offered a senior menu they do show they have one. Kids can eat free. read more

i recently ate here and got food poisoning approximately 3 hours after eating. i'm getting better but several days later am still suffering gastrointestinal issues including nausea, stomach pain, and diarrhea. Bought a pumpkin pie here and was very diappointed. They are not as good as they used to be. Apparently the changed bakers and the pie cost $23.00. The crust was lousy. Might as well just throw it out. Would be better off getting Marie Calendars frozen pumpkin pie and bake it yourself. read more

I have always been a huge fan of Coco's and the service is always excellent. However, my last visit food-wise was less than stellar. I have noticed the food quality in general has declined although prices have gone up significantly. The prime rib French Dip (overpriced at $15.99) was awful. I could not finish it. The meat was overcooked, tough, chewy and tasted like it ahould have been thrown away, instead of served. I have had it before here and It wasn't this bad. It's never been the best French Dip, but they need to take it off the menu if it this is what it tastes like now. Came here on a Sunday around 9am with a party of 6. It wasn't too busy, but it definitely got packed by the time we left around 1030am. The restaurant looked like they were doing some remodeling on the side so the tables were very packed together. There definitely wasn't any social distancing at this establishment since each table near you was within less than 3 feet. The workers did wear masks though. I ordered a build your own scramble with egg whites, Turkey patty, mushrooms, bell peppers, onion, and pepper jack cheese. It came with the option of home potatoes, hash browns or fresh fruit, which I opted for the fruit. It also came with an option of French toast, pancakes or a baked item like muffins. I ended up choosing the brioche french toast. For taste, I enjoyed my scramble but it did lack some flavor. I added some hot sauce to add some flavor, I wanted to add ketchup but the bottle we had was out and the workers were too far for me to ask for more since we were seated in the back room. The fruit consisted of 2 pieces of cantaloupe and 2 pieces of honeydew. It was very fresh and sweet. The brioche french toast was okay, it wasn't crispy, it was kind of soggy and it was topped with a big helping of whipped butter (which I wasn't a big fan of), I wish it was on the side. Overall, it was a very basic. I wish their menu was a bit more extensive so I could order off their menu instead of building my own. Came here on a Sunday and it was packed. We were seated immediately and attended to quickly by Kim. She was as friendly as can be. I noticed the menu given was not updated to what the menu has on Yelp. I decided to go for the Tomato Basil Omelette and side with gluten-free pancakes. It took some time because they are short staffed. I was not bothered by that. Kim kept apologizing but there was no need. It's going to take some time before things get back to normal. When the food arrived it was warm, wholesome, and delicious. Even though it was packed and understaffed. My meal was perfect. The GF pancakes were mind blowing! You could not tell the difference. Fries had BONE CHIPS IN THEM and they were not from the ribs - none of the ribs had pieces of bone missing, and the color of the bone chips did not match the bone color of the ribs. Terrible Bang For The Buck - $23 for four ribs? It's not even listed as half slab of ribs on UBER Eats, and four ribs isn't even a half slab. Additionally, deceptive pricing, the prices on the receipt from the restaurant are $3 or more less expensive than the prices on UBER Eats. Go to Lulu's, Dr Hogly Wogly's, ALL American BBQ, Black Bear Diner, etc over this rubbish of a restaurant. They have better tasting food, better bang for your buck, and no BONE CHIPS IN YOUR FRIES. This place is sad ! The cooks don't care about crap. Why would you butterfly a medium rare steak. And then you send it back and then they send you another one out that's been butterflied. Beware I found a hair( short black one) attached to my cheese hash browns. We all(5 in total) had partially ate our food. Told waitress, she ask for me to hand her the plate n walked away. Waitress came back n said I would not be paying for the plate that contained the hair. However, we all had orders with hash browns n now we r totally "grossed out" . Our waitress Lori is the absolute best ! My husband and I have been going there for years. She almost always is our server, she is not only hard working but polite friendly and checks all boxes in all categories of excellent service. From the minute we walk in she is on it ! We have drinks and our soup or salad immediately. From there she times everything perfectly before I need to ask for anything she is there with it ! I'm not the kind of person that posts a lot of reviews however recently I've been out to other restaurants and been extremely disappointed in the quality of service. Then this evening while out and about we stopped at our usually cocos in Granada hills and was reminded just how rare it is to be blessed to be served by Lori. Her dedication is an asset to this restaurant and if upper management wants to see cocos make it through this rough economy Lori should be training the new servers on standards and professionalism in customer service. Second, noticed that the boothshad been reupholstered, looked better, but could have spent a few more $$$ for better covering. Third, we both got a Florentine Scramble.
