Had to update my review since I came back with my boyfriend's family and they definitely improved on portion size and presentation! I got Com Tam Suon Op La and was full by the time I reached half of my meat. I ate some of my boyfriend's Cha and Tau Hu Ky and they were definitely still drier than I'd like. I'm glad we gave this place another chance because I wouldn't mind coming back if I wanted a quick bite.

Pork sausage, grilled beef, egg cake, white rice to go

Love the food here. Their meals are flavorful and meat is juicy. Their egg cake is a decent size and not overly greasy. The texture is great and not rubbery either. Service here is quick and friendly and they have plenty of seating and parking. It can get a bit loud inside with larger crowds. I recommend the choose your meats entrees. I love the pork sausage, egg cake and grilled beef. Hubby also loves the shredded pork. They also offer buy 2 get 1 free meals and they have a great variety of meals to choose from. Restaurant is clean and can get pretty busy on the weekends. We will definitely be back again as it is one of our favorite places and since their other location closed down, this will be our new spot. They even had a gentleman playing a small keyboard and singing the day we went. They also offer orders to go.

One of the best com tam I had for awhile and even though i ordered to go .. Everything that came with the rice was delicious and fulfilling .

$17 plus $1 up charge. It's not even half full. All veggies no protein and the sauce was watery. Shame on this business. RUDE

Prejudice for $1 lol. I went in, I needed to use the bathroom so I bought a plate that was $17. I asked if I can use the restroom but I'll buy something. She immediately yelled and said "what do you want to buy?" And I was like.. can I see a menu? She stood there and I had to grab the menu myself. Thank you. So I paid for the meal and she proceeds to tell me that they have to charge $1 for ordering noodles. For me it's like take the dollar, to have the audacity to be rude and try and get an extra dollar out of me. That's pretty pathetic if you have to make up an excuse to charge me for ordering something specific on your menu. Mind you. It's 10 am,. They are open and it's not like I'm ordering from a lunch or dinner menu that's outside of the breakfast menu. Keep your dollar. Bad customer service.. I got my food. It's half full. I saw the food that was coming out to the other customers and the portion size was 2x more for about the same prices as all of their menu items. I gave the food to a homeless person. I don't even want to try it.

    Bun thit nuong

Bun Thit Nuong - meat is on the sweeter side so I think the sauce isn't really necessary. I'm not a big fan of the pickled radish and daikon - it was just plain sweet instead of sweet/sour. Overall, it's ok but wouldn't recommend going here for this. Staff were friendly and food came out quick. Easy parking, shop located in plaza with lots of desert and other quick eats.

Cơm Tấm Quê Hương is easily my favorite spot for cơm tấm. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly every time. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the service is fast and friendly. Everything hits the spot. Definitely the place I recommend to anyone for cơm tấm.

My husband and I were in the area. We were hungry. The place across the parking lot had closed so we wandered into Com Tam Que Huong. As with most Vietnamese places, the menu is long but the specialty of the house is in the name of the restaurant. However, I'm not the biggest fan of com tam so I ordered Bun cha Hanoi and my husband ordered Bun bo xao. My Bun cha came out in record time and I was very happy with it. My husband tried his food and said it was ok. The restaurant looked like it hadn't had a dusting in quite some time. I went to use the restroom and it was okay. I saw someone in the back rinsing dishes. But shortly afterwards, I went home and felt ill. I'm not 100% sure it was from dining here but that's the only thing I can think of to make my stomach turn. It might have been the fresh herbs but I didn't think I'd feel that way in a restaurant in SoCal. TLDR; Food was okay, but I felt sick after an hour.

The menu is very big with alot of different combinations . The restaurant is clean, The broken rice is kind of special, smell so good, enough moisture and dry enough as Com Tam should be , pork grilled is well marinated , You can choose choices of chicken, pork, or beef comes with soup and fish sauce. Reasonable price for the portion.

    Receipt

Beware on price when you paid ..making sure you ask for receipt and compare it with the price they have listed on the menu. I was there and they over charged me when I asked, they said the price on menu was old and have not fix yet..then the owner took menu away and had an attitude toward me..this is second time they over charged me. On top of that I paid them cash and I don't know if they report tax on cash flows with IRS but on my receipt tax was included in it.

Love the com tam from here. We've been getting our combos from here regularly. Their grilled pork always has the perfect charring and the flavor is on point. I love the crispy pork fat bits thay come with the meat. The fried egg adds extra creaminess to the meal and their nuoc mam is superb. A single order is enough to make 2 meals for me, which is solid. Definitely a hidden gem.

    Com tam thịt nuong

Pathetic portion! I wanted just com tam thit nuong for my son. I didn't want the bi or cha. At least compensate! Never ever again! I'll stick to Com Tam Xi Gon. That's what I get for being too lazy to drive to Xi Gon. I thought since I am already in that plaza, let's give this place a chance. Utterly disappointing!

    24. BBQ Pork Skewer

Food cooled off really quick, perhaps it was warmed up in the microwave rather than off the stove. Maybe because we had a similar bbq pork for lunch, this just seemed really bland in comparison. Honestly it's just a normal com tam restaurant but it wasn't satisfying and I was kind of disappointed we drove over an hour for it.

I recently tried Cơm Tấm Quê Hương after hearing a recommendation about their thịt nướng, and unfortunately, I left pretty disappointed. I ordered the bún thịt nướng, and right from the start, the presentation felt off. The grilled pork (thịt nướng) wasn't what I expected at all. Instead of the usual strips of pinkish, red meat, it was served in small, yellowish chunks that were soft in texture. Every bite felt like I was eating bits of fried fat, kind of like what you'd find on bánh bèo at other places--just not the satisfying grilled meat I was hoping for. The biggest issue for me was the nước mắm (fish sauce). It was bland and lacked the rich, sweet, savory flavor that usually complements a good bún thịt nướng. It felt watered down and didn't bring the balance that I love in Vietnamese dishes. The pickled carrots and daikon didn't help much either--they lacked the tangy punch I expect and seemed pretty bland overall. Unfortunately, the whole dish felt off. Some of the meat chunks were hard and chewy, while others were just soft, making for a weird inconsistency in texture. It's a shame because I love a well-balanced bún thịt nướng where the flavors and textures complement each other, but here, it felt like something was missing, especially in the nước mắm department. On a positive note, the customer service was great. The staff were friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. However, when the food doesn't deliver, it's hard to overlook. I really wanted to like this place because I had heard good things, but I don't think I'll be coming back--at least not for the bún thịt nướng. If they improve their fish sauce and work on the consistency of the meat, I could see this place having potential. But for now, I can't recommend it for this dish. If you love Vietnamese food, nước mắm is a must, and unfortunately, that's where this place falls short.

The chicken was crispy and the dipping sauce gave it that extra yummy goodness. The dish also came with a side of broth that had chicken bits in it, was nice to help digest your dish. I also loved that they gave you pickled veggies & fresh veggies. We also ordered the Loi's Fusion Saltado, upgraded the rice to garlic egg fried rice. The beef was soft and tender, the fries were nice and crispy and the fried rice was fresh. You 100% need to get the Thai Tea. A lot of place add too much cream/half and half diluting the tea flavor, they do not skimp on the actual tea in their drink. The color speaks for itself on the dark orange hue!

I'm a bit late getting around to writing this, and unfortunately, they are already closed, but I still felt like I had to share my experience. I'm not completely surprised that they closed, especially after trying their bò né. I've had this dish many times at different places around Orange County, and unfortunately, this was probably the weakest version I've come across. The first thing that stood out was the presentation. As you can see in the picture, there was this purple-colored sauce on the meat itself, which honestly did not look very appetizing. To make things worse, the sauce was cold and did not heat in time with the skillet, which really took away from the experience. The flavor itself wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't anything memorable. It was just okay, and when you factor in the cold food and the presentation, it made the whole dish disappointing. With so many places around Orange County serving bò né at a much higher level, I would probably recommend spending your money elsewhere. If you were wondering whether you missed out on some hidden gem, don't worry, you didn't. This one felt more like a piece of coal than a diamond. That being said, every restaurant has its journey, and with more time, maybe they could have found their footing. Hopefully, they can take this experience as a lesson, refine their recipes, and bring something better in their next venture. I am rooting for you Loi!
