My brother recently passed away. When I called the company to get his HOA bills sent to me they said sure and didn't cancel his direct withdrawal leading to a bill for lack of funds. Mind you I've been paying the monthly fee for last several months with checks that they had no problem cashing immediately. When I finally realized they did this I called immediately and was told wrong department and they would create a ticket and somebody would call me. No call so did it again so another ticket was created and again nobody called. When I finally got through to the right department they kicked it up to another person that sent me a canned response that said no, pay the lack of funds fee and send us a letter to tell them to stop trying to get the direct withdrawal. Wouldn't that advice been nice to know two months ago when I first called them! This company first has no compassion in addition to deceptive business practices. read more

I am a homeowner and board member in an HOA managed by Common Interest Management Services, where Lisa serves as Senior Director of Community Management. My experience with her has been negative and raises serious concerns about fairness, professionalism, and accountability. She has handled two major matters in our community -- a property boundary dispute and an unapproved pergola -- in ways I believe were biased, inconsistent, and harmful to homeowners. In the fence matter, Lisa confirmed in writing multiple times that it was a neighbor-to-neighbor issue outside HOA jurisdiction. Later, under pressure from a board officer, she reversed that position without a transparent process and involved HOA legal counsel at the expense of all homeowners. All I want is to reclaim my legally owned land from an adjacent neighbor who has been occupying it for years without any legal right. Instead of supporting a fair resolution, the board -- aligned with the adjacent neighbor -- and Lisa escalated it into a legal matter they could control. Based on my direct interactions and the documented record, I have no confidence in them to make fair, unbiased, and well‑reasoned decisions. Typically, legal boundary issues in single-family homes are outside an HOA's jurisdiction. So why involve the HOA and spend association funds? In my view, the reason is clear -- to protect a sitting vice president who is encroaching on my property, allowing her to keep using my land without legal right. If she were a fair community manager, she would have advised the board to stay out of the matter. Instead, she let the board insert itself as the decision‑maker -- despite my clear, certified evidence showing that portion of the land belongs to me, not the other homeowner. What exactly is there for them to "judge" when the facts are so clear? I am aware that by writing this review, I may face retaliation from the board and management, but homeowners deserve to know the truth about how their association is being run. read more

Zero-Star Management, If You Can Call It That Not sure what this company actually manages, because since they took over our condo community, everything has gone downhill. The landscaping looks neglected and dying, the pool is rarely heated on time (if at all), and our once-decent pool furniture has been swapped out for the cheapest plastic junk imaginable. Unbearable to even sit or lay on. Customer service? Either openly rude or outsourced overseas with no understanding of our community. And the kicker? A supervisor confidently told me our pool was never heated. I've lived here most of my life, I learned to swim in that heated pool. If they can't even get that right, how can we trust them with anything else? Truthfully, our community would be better off managing itself. So an update. Someone reached out and said I should speak with a senior executive so I sent an email explaining my situation. I guess senior executive means manager because that's who got back to me. They apologized professionally and courteously and stated that my maintenance request would be addressed which was to fix the light by the trash cans since it was not working at night. I usually throw/recycle at night since I work the night shift and come home late. That was May 20th. I didn't hear anything for a while and the light was not fixed and I emailed the manager again on June 10th to ask for an update. Their response was the current electrician couldn't fix it so they were finding another one. Cut to two weeks later and still no fix and no updates. I just sent them another email asking for a status update. How long does it take to fix a simple light? They are really living up to their one star review lol. read more

The good people at Common Interest Management may have a common interest, but it is not in the homeowner associations who employ them. I have found them (I prefer not to mention them by name) as disinterested, negligent, unresponsive, and, at times, a bit arrogant. Their concern for the needs of individual homeowners seems to be virtually nonexistent. In a recent phone conversation with one Common Interest employee, it was clear that he had never visited our property and was ignorant of the facilities on our property. I have been extraordinarily disappointed in the service they claim to provide. I have been waiting for several weeks for them to schedule workers to repair the damage in my unit caused by plumbers attempting to locate a water leak in the building. Because of this, we have been unable to use our washer and dryer for more than two weeks, despite requesting that this issue be addressed. The word that comes to mind with I think of Common Interest Management is "unprofessional." read more

UPDATE (02/19/2025): If Yelp allowed the option of giving 0 or negative stars, Common Interest would have earned such a rating from me. I did not think it was possible for my opinion of this company to sink any lower, but somehow they have managed to blow my mind in the worst possible way. On February 4, Mike A. from CIMS messaged me on Yelp requesting that I please reach out to the Common Interest Executive Team via email so that they could try to "make this right." I used the email they provided to share the details from this review via email on Feb 5, and I explicitly stated that there has already been a ~2 month delay on the repairs to my unit exterior. So, they ought to expedite the planned repairs if at all possible (these repairs finally got completed on 02/18 as planned; they never did anything to expedite the repairs) and retrain Greg Hancock and Lisa Maronne on their basic job functions and customer service for having done such an exceptionally poor job managing this leak and repair problem. Sarah Reddell, the VP of Customer Service at CIMS, responded on February 7 saying CIM's exec team was looking into what happened here and would provide me an update within a few days. Over a week later, I have gotten no response and follow up. Sarah responds saying she has gotten in touch with the senior leadership team and they will address my concerns. I can't even make this up, the "leader" that was put in charge of addressing my concerns was Lisa Maronne, the Sr. Dir. I complained to CIMS about for ignoring my voicemail and emails previously. Her "resolution"? Inviting me to my HOA board's next meeting in March to discuss the ongoing repairs. Note that my complaint had nothing to do with discussing the details of the repairs and had everything to do with how the CIMS staff manages properties. I am done providing feedback to try to help this company improve itself for its customers' sake. They are beyond redemption, and every level of leadership seems to be in on making a joke of themselves and of their customer's needs. Horrible management of our HOA. Community pool for hundreds of townhouses/houses has been under construction for a re-tiling project that should only take a few months. It's been since February (now end of June) and zero updates. When I reach out via email, they just say "we will email residents once the pool is completed." What the heck are we paying HOA fees for if they can't even get the tiles installed before summer season. It's literally the only usable amenity this community has available. The pool has not been worked on in months and it appears that this management group isn't even aware that nobody is showing up daily to work on this project. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is disappointed in the communication and the speed of maintenance. read more

Very unresponsive. We haven't gotten Frank to give us a call back even though we've called multiple times (maybe about 8 or so times) over the past 2 weeks, and have stated over email that we would like to speak to a person i.e. Frank. Instead he sends emails over and over again ignoring the fact that we've asked him to call us because we have had several questions that stem from the solo emails and would prefer to knock it all out in one conversation. Even if you don't have all of the answers we need, you have some of them, and could explain things a lot better via phone. It's poor business practice to blatantly ignore calls and act as if you're unavailable at all times whenever we call your office. They are also slow overall to remedy the problem to the best of their ability; we have leaks in our ceiling that we notified them of two weeks ago and we can't fix them until they fix the problem upstairs. Them dragging their feet on this during rainy season is only making the problem worse. Yet they won't be held responsible for the damage done to our ceiling even though it's all dependent on how fast they can implement a solution. And we understand that they have to work with a company to fix the problem, but that's on them to be on top of these things; not us to be hassling them and calling the third party company to get the job done, as they are telling us to do. Frank, why would I call the 3rd party company for our ceiling when the problem upstairs isn't fixed? Why am I expected to call them to get them to setup an appointment with the upstairs neighbor? That's not on us, especially since you aren't paying for our ceiling. That's all on you guys to MANAGE the situation. read more

I was terribly upset when I called the service line. I have been trying to relay my brother had passed and as soon as I had access to the funds I would pay. Several time I have corresponded. It has taken longer than expected. I have called to send in documents and still received a collection notice sent to "his" address after requesting it sent to me, the trustee. Crystal was able to calm me down and then began to help me. Telling me what exactly I need to do. She then proceeded to go the extra mile and send in a request for address change and to combine his properties under one account. She then made me a portal and walked me though each step to make sure I could transverse it, explaining it to me and answering any question. Crystal is one of the few who took the time to actually "help "me and not brush me off. Seldom do you see that anymore. She is a value-add to your company. read more

This company is unresponsive to the highest degree. I called about a drainage problem that took 5 calls just to find that without any assessment they will say "it's your own responsibility". I requested them to send out a plumber to look at it. after few more calls that I tried to snake the drain and the problem is deeper that 25 FT, They never sent anyone, and I've never received any follow up what so ever. As a second example, They failed to send me my invoice foe HOA fee twice . instead charged me for late fee. the comedy part is I called and let them know that I didn't receive my invoice then they charged me for a late fee. I still do not receive my invoice through mail and keep paying service fee for online payments. read more
