Both the Inglewood and Culver City locations are completely unassuming from the outside, but the inside of each is quite inviting and larger than they appear from the street. They have a pretty simple menu, but the flavors they are able to develop are unbelievable. Our party of four ordered Camarones Borrachos, Chicharrones de Pescado and Pescado Zarandeado and shared it family style. Each and every bite was delicious. Just wow. My parents and I use to drive all the way down to Tijuana to get some pescado zarandeado at some small restaurant until it tragically closed down. We've been searching all over LA for years trying to find a place with a fish anywhere close to that one and have been disappointed time-and-time again, UNTIL I found Coni's on yelp this past Sunday. My dad is the pickiest of eaters and he enjoyed everything. We got a huge pescado zarandeado (2kg) at the most reasonable price. I was expecting the fish alone to be $100+ dollars and was pleasantly surprised at the modest $76 MP price tag. It came with the most flavorful onions and was to die for. It really brought us back to my childhood memories of eating at our old spot in Tijuana. If you're like me and have the too much gene, the fish ceviche, camarones cucarachitas (also SOSO good, ate it with shell on and everything), 2kg pescado zarandeado, and caldo mixto are solid picks to keep a party of four full and with left overs! Hadn't been to Conis in years. We've been to their original location in Inglewood and I've always remembered how much I enjoyed their food. This location is small and on a corner, we found street parking. We ordered camarones borrachos, Cucarachitas, and mojarra frita. We didn't see a kids menu but they offered to make quesadillas or their version of fish sticks (which my kid loved). Staff was nice and attentive. The green salsa I personally loved because it wasn't crazy spicy so I ended up pouring it all over my rice lol This is will be our go-to place when we come out to LA to visit great-grandma at Holy Cross, it's so close by! Extra star because of the music playing. It's Christian...not the typical music you'd find at a Mexican mariscos place but let me tell you in todays day and age it's actually pretty refreshing and really all you get are good vibes even if you don't care for the music. Best seafood in town without a doubt. Brought my parents in for some authentic Nayarit style seafood, and found our new favorite spot. For the table we stared with a mazatlán style aguachile which consisted of fresh butterfly cut shrimp with a citrusy spicy sauce. i am a big fan of spice and that sauce definitely satisfied my expectations. my dad ordered their chicharrón de pescado which he loved. it was nice and crispy on the outside, and had a citrusy soy sauce poured over. my mom ordered the camarones cucarachitas. this plate came filled with fried shrimp shell on. which allowed the spicy garlic sauce to get trapped in the shell. making it the perfect saucy bite while eating. i myself ordered the mojarra frita. my mojarra was paired with a side of their rice. I dipped my fish in some mayo and their deliciously spicy house green sauce that was given to us upon sitting with complimentary fresh house made chips. overall our experience here was amazing. the environment was very welcoming. the staff was very helpful and attentive. if you're looking for a place where you can sit, catch up with family and enjoy some delicious seafood. look no more. read more

I've never been much of a Jersey Shore fan, but Coni'Seafood has me convinced not all Snook[i]'s can be much more than GTL and MTV. In case that was too many cultural references, I'm talking about the legendary and bonkers good Pescado Zarandeado. Let's back up, Coni'Seafood: beloved Inglewood institution and consistently recommended by LA Times and food critics across the internet. And for very good reason. The thing to get here is the Pescado Zarandeado, a grilled snook (a type of fish) grilled and smothered in a savory umami bomb of a sauce and served with tortillas and perhaps the world's tastiest caramelized onions. It's priced based on the size of the snook and *may* sell out. Serving snook is itself an enormous feat for a restaurant. They have a fisherman that sources the fish just for them and the delicate fish is prone to overcooking. Not a dish for a novice chef. It's got a huge back patio with a colorful and casual vibe. We also got a ceviche for that was delicious as well. That was all the food my smol group of 3 could handle but I'd recommend coming with a group and sampling the menu. It's a grand time. read more

We have been coming here for years and never had any complaints, we went on Saturday and from the taste of the good it felt like there was a different chef, the restaurant wasn't busy, our waiter was not doing his job correctly, we ordered extra rice and he never brought it and he said well I saw you guys were done and didn't want the rice anymore, the camarones cucaracha tasted different, like dried old shrimps and to top it off because we were a part of 6 we needed to leave a 18 percent tip which don't think the server deserved, we won't be going back that's for sure read more

Although the outside of the restaurant may seem like a gray/boring building, the outside patio and inside are very lovely to sit down and enjoy a meal. The food here is incredibly fresh and tastes wonderful. The serving sizes are more than reasonable, and the silverware provided were very clean. My girlfriend and I came here at noon to eat lunch, and were not disappointed. They had limited servers and were still incredibly kind and efficient. Well, it looks like I finally redeemed myself with the fiancé. Let me back up. A couple years ago, I tried to impress my SO (who is Mexican) by taking him to a local Mexican restaurant that had 2,000+ 4 star reviews and was featured on a show (not naming names). Well, let's just say I failed miserably. Luckily we just started dating so I had some time to make it up to him. Fast forward to tonight. My palette has been reset since my SO took me to enough family parties and trips to Mexico that I finally know what real Mexican food tastes like and let me tell you, it's divine! The snook fish is very unique and delicious. They have different sizes of fish- the one we got was around $50 and 3 lbs or so. It does have some bones you need to pick out but it came with delicious caramelized onions and tortillas to make tacos. I would avoid the marlin tacos. For $22 it is a ridiculously small portion of three small tacos. The tacos are mostly cheese to cut down on their costs so you can hardly taste the marlin. read more

I wish I could give a 2.5. Sorry guys, it was just a pinch below average for me. The amount of fish in the ceviche was offensive, but it was good. I can't believe they don't serve anything with most things on the menu, and you they don't even have sides on the menu at all. Like for real the rice is hard to come by. We arrived around 6 pm last night and the restaurant was empty. We ordered and my tacos arrived cold and tasteless. I hope that this experience was an outlier as the waiter was very nice and helpful. My husband did not like his fish soup at all. Our friends picked the restaurant because of great reviews. Her husband did not like his fish soup either. She loved her plate of shrimp and langostino. The service was amazing! Our waitress was very attentive and recommended several food from the menu. I order the ceviche marinero which had such a great taste wasn't spicy at all for me but I also order the aguachiles which were super spicy. If you love spicy food I recommend the aguachiles. My sister order the cucarachita shrimp which had such a tasty flavor the more you eat them it starts tasting spicy. There's no alcohol serve in this location which I was okay with because they had delicious agua frescas I got the cucumber agua was just perfect not too sweet or not too sour. Their other location serves alcohol. The restaurant was clean gave me a family vibe restaurant. For my first time I had a great experience with the service and the food was delicious. I first discovered Coni when they were one of the food vendors at a wine tasting event several years ago. I was happy to find that they opened up a closer location to me in Del Rey, but I still wasn't able to get out there as often as I had hoped. I went again this past weekend and I just love their outdoor patio area. It's decorated very nicely and parking wasn't hard to find at all. Camarones al Mojo de Ajo is my favorite, and their Cevisushi was so good and really spicy. Can't wait to return as their service is also wonderful. read more

I was so excited to go to this place. I heard so many great things about their Pescado Zarandeado. However, when I tried to order it they told me they did not have any. They explained that I would need to call before arriving to see see if it was available. So, I ordered the Smoked Marlin Tacos instead which was nothing special. The Marlin honestly tasted like it came out of a can. It's hard to believe my experience after reading all the good reviews. Who knows maybe the regular chef was out that day? I gave them 3 stars because they are dog friendly, not for the food. read more

When it's spicy it's hotttt. My problem with this place is the ceviche, good ceviche but....Mostly consisted of cucumbers, tomatoes,cilantro, sauce and very few shrimps. It was my second time going, I'd go back. Although, the other half of the dinner party (first timers) would not. Gotta feed your paying customers right or no one will Come back. I think it could be the cook, bc the other time there were decent amounts of shrimps. Consistency is key. I got fish tacos, overcooked because it was hard and chewy. Coni'Seafood is one of my top 5 favorite restaurants in LA, and two of the others are Providence and Spago. As ridiculous as that sounds, I think the food here is really that special. I used to drive down to the OG location in Inglewood many many years ago after learning about it on Jonathan Gold's list, and I was immediately hooked. The Centinela location is newer and more convenient with the same great food and no wait. My favorite items in the menu are the camarones checos, ahogados rojos, and cucarachitas. Their ceviches and aguachiles are also really good. They're known for their whole fish and fish tacos, although my preference is usually to try one of their many shrimp entrees instead. Their salsa (free) is awesome, but extremely spicy. Get the michelada - it's the best in LA. A plea to the restaurant - I really wish you offered half portions. I usually come here by myself and already order too much food as it is. I would love to try more things without having 5 boxes of leftovers! read more

"we don't have any" okay how about letting everyone order iced tea then tell us you don't have it or answering poorly about oysters start off with we don't have tea or oysters when someone is inquiring. So we ordered the snook. It takes 30 mins so order asap. Then later after reviewing the menu I ordered the Shrimp borrachas wife ordered seafood soup, son ordered fish tacos others ordered smoked swordfish tacos. Food was fantastic, I was very surprised as the first impression were poor. As I'm delivered my plate she hands me a fork... Hmmm. This is a first. Should you place the silverware on the napkin or on the table not had it to me? Everyone has to ask for silverware because it's not a regular item used here (I guess) strange! Then I find a GROSS hair in my food... as the waitress clears the plates she is reaching over me (don't know why) only to spill the silverware all over me and spraying my clothes with grease and sauce. There's an insincere apology, then moves on. Well I will say it's got some issues, I later found out our waitress is the owner so I doubt the service will change but the food is worth the poor service. First time coming here. I came right when they opened and was greeted in a very friendly matter by Guillermo. It was my first time so I asked what the popular dishes were and Guillermo was super patient and walked me through what is most common and popular. I tried the shrimp caldo and I must say it was amazing. Maybe the best soup I've ever had! The broth was bold and intense with the right amount of spice and I'm someone who likes spice. Had dinner at Coni'Seafood on Sunday night. Incredible seafood dishes with excellent flavor and massive portions, along with timely and authentic service. Quality: Incredible food. One of the highlights of my recent Los Angeles visit was the food I had here. There is no wrong way to go, but I liked the Ceviche De Pescado a little more than the richer Ceviche Marinero. I would also lean towards the Camarones Borrachos, which come in a tequila, garlic, cilantro, crushed pepper sauce, over the Camarones Cucaracha, which come deep fried in spicy butter. Though my preferences did not stop me from diving into each and every dish. Quantity: Huge portion sizes, one dish per person is more than enough. Value: $16 for Ceviche Marinero. $13 for Ceviche De Pescado. $16 for Camarones Borrachos. $16 for Camarones Cucaracha. Ambiance: Coni'Seafood is a Mexican seafood spot located in Del Rey. They have a few tables outside and some very spaced out tables inside. My only complaint was they left the doors open, so it was chilly inside. Crowd: Only a few tables, but each one was filled. Can't remember the last time I had a perfect meal. I'm not kidding this meal was so freaking fire! I left confused on how flavorful everything was. We started off with chips and salsa and let me tell you! Those chips were so freaking authentic. They were thick, had the right amount of salt and not greasy whatsoever. That salsa though! At first, I underestimated what looked like cucumber water. It was so refreshing! The citrus hits your mouth in the most delightful way just to make way for the hell fire to come. It was spicy but a good spicy! It's so addicting but when I got to the point I couldn't talk without a mouthful of water I knew I had to stop. Seriously the best! Appetizer - we had the shrimp and octopus ceviche on these little chips! I took a bite and had a moment like Ratatouille, I was transported to a joyous moment in my childhood, sitting in my room playing with my WWF toys. Yes it was that good! I mean the seafood itself was fresh and whatever sauce and oil they top it with - My goodness! Top notch. Finally our fish came and it was ridiculous. Instructions per my experience. Get a tortilla, put fish in it, top it with the grilled onions and put a little of that spicy salsa on it, then roll it up and dunk it in the sauce f the fish. IT. IS. FREAKING. MAGIC. I call it dunking it in the river technique. The fish was so flaky and delicious, THE ONIONS - never have I wanted to take a jar home! The sauce - I took shots of it after we demolished our fish, it's that good. Almost like a soy sauce but not. Breakfast, lunch and dinner I want that sauce and those onions on everything! Sheesh! "Coni's where have you been all of our lives?"... Were our exact words after leaving the restaurant last weekend! We had such a fun evening here with their delicious food and welcoming atmosphere. The Snook is to die for, cooked perfectly with outstanding accompaniments. Ceviche is their specialty so be sure to try one of their yummy varieties. We also had the house specialty shrimp with tequila garlic sauce and it was down right finger-licking good. Large succulent shrimp with the perfect amount of sauce to add flavor but not drown the fish. Our server was very busy but was super sweet and made great recommendations.
