Coral Café has been here in our wonderful city of Burbank forever one of the greatest things about them is that they are open 24 hours with good food not like some of those other places and you can go and sit down and have like a home-cooked meal what I love the most it has never changed in decades!!! Their tortilla soup it is the best they do not skimp even when you get it to go lots of chicken lots of juice lots of cheese lots of tortillas lots of vegetables it is the best chicken tortilla soup ever. I love places like this. It was exactly what I wanted after picking my SO up after an early morning flight at Burbank airport. I knew he'd be hungry and want some "real", filling food. This 100% fits the bill. It's got that comfy, old-school diner feel, complete with a desserts/pie case. The menu is so large (and laminated!) that I only took pictures of the first few pages of "fall" specials. There were several things I wanted to try, and will definitely come back and get to next time. This time, I went with eggs scrambled with spinach and feta, served with hash browns and toast. Predictable, but what I wanted. My SO had his usual French toast with a side of breakfast meats. And we shared an order of biscuits, which were actually very nice. Coffee was good, hot and refilled very regularly. Service was fast and friendly. There was parking in the back. What more could you ask for? Visited this 1970s style diner with a large spacious patio seating about 3 PM on Friday. Pretty busy inside for a mid afternoon, and the crowd only got larger as it got closer to dinner time. Service was slow, but not horrible, as the young man appeared to be an inexperienced and forgot people's drink orders, with some people had drinks and others did not and had to be asked again. But he was pleasant and enthusiastic. The menu was absolutely huge, consisting of five or more double sided pages and a separate menu of specials. Visually Observing the food on other tables, the portions were large and attractive looking. We were a party of five and there to have a small meeting and eat something. My daughter ordered the mozzarella sticks and some french fries along with a vanilla cappuccino. These were all executed fine and what you would expect. Her mother ordered a Caesar salad with chicken. The thing was huge topped with a very large breast of grilled chicken and half of an avocado and tomato. Avocado and tomato is a little unusual on a Caesar. My associate ordered a slice of banana cream pie and said it was good. However, I ordered the country pork chop special, which was serve served with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and white gravy at the recommendation of the server. I should've taken a picture because the pork chop as it looked like it was thrown into a a deep fryer and cooked like Carnitas with a very hard outer crust. It wasn't just well done, It was super well done, and bone dry covered in a thin, white flavorless gravy that did nothing to add to the dish. Normally, on a pork chop, you would get some type of brown form of country gravy, utilizing the meat juice from the cooking of the pork chop to add flavor. The mashed potatoes were lumpy and tasted as if they instant box potatoes, with mixed water. It tasted as if it had no butter, cream or seasoning. The steamed vegetables seem to be cooked correctly, but again no salt, seasonings or butter. After one bite, I basically determined it was not edible and asked them to replace it with the chicken fried steak, which seemed to get a number of positive reviews. Generally, when you claim something is called country gravy, it's either prepared with bacon grease or sausage grease with chunks of either or both in the gravy. Unfortunately, it had neither. The chicken fried steak was a lower quality version of what's normally sold by Cisco foods at many restaurants in the area. While that product is not the best, it's usually not bad. but unfortunately, this version wasn't even that good. I'm sure this place is fine to eat very basic food, like eggs and pancakes, a club sandwich or hamburgers and french fries. Things that only require basic culinary skills were the dishwasher was promoted to the line cook. Unfortunately, this would eliminate about 80% of the menu. With some better cooks, this could be a really nice place to enjoy the food with about half of the menu size and an emphasis on quality over quantity. Best of luck I'll watch the reviews and see. read more

Uncompromising quality in their ingredients. When I want that fresh, homemade flavor, I come here. Best comfort food in Burbank. Among so many other things...don't forget to try the garlic bread--special order it "double-sided" and they'll do it and it's A-MAZE-ING. This is an old-school cafe with a humongous menu. I'm sure there are regulars who have been coming here for years. We arrived for a mid-morning breakfast and were just amazed at the options. Don't be fooled that this is a greasy spoon diner pumping out bacon and eggs with mounds of potatoes. The menu is interesting, especially for lunch/dinner. Classic family Americano diner with a pie display showcase of decadent desserts. My husband, daughter and I moved to Burbank last year and can be considered "regulars". It is a gem of a place. The walls are adorned with classic Hollywood posters of famous actors and directors. The menu offers many dishes including desserts and beer and wine for the adults. I love and appreciate the way the employees carry themselves. Such positivity and it makes everyone that comes through those doors feel welcomed. The family and I stopped by here around a month ago, I took a photo of my meal and meant to leave a review sooner, but haven't had the chance to. First off, We lucked out with restaurant parking. I always worry about parking when planning to try out new food places. We walked in to a kind server up front who then led us to a table in the back dining room, Which was pretty empty at about 3-4 pm on a Sunday. I was expecting the dining room to be a bit fuller based off all the great reviews I read (prior to our visit), but also appreciated the vacant/quiet feeling this afternoon gave. I felt the interior of the restaurant had a bit of an old diner/ancient feel. The tables/chairs look almost antique and not comfortable, as well as the booths, "not having been renovated in years" look. After taking minutes to look over their Hefty Menu, (definitely no shortage in food options here!) We ordered a breakfast burrito, cheeseburger with fries, and an open faced steak sandwich type dish (which I actually enjoyed!) I've never had one like it before. I can say with confidence the cooks in the kitchen really know what they're doing. My steak was juicy and full of flavor and went well paired with Sweet Potato Fries. (The sweet potato fries are amazing here, btw.) I will surely be returning to try them again. I like that they offer iced coffee, don't expect it to be anything special, but at least they have it as an option :) The servers were okay, nice, and attentive enough. I noticed the employees here are a mixed bag when it comes to cultures/ethnicities which tells me everyone is welcome here! As they should be. I imagine the Coral Cafe has that nostalgic feel to many of the Burbank residents of the past and its been a mainstay for many many many years. Its a good spot for your traditional breakfast staples and I would say it is a lot like a Denny's or Ihop. We ordered breakfast and everything just tasted ok. There was nothing that really stood out flavor-wise. The portions were huge though so you for sure wont leave hungry. After looking at a few different local areas I ended up going back to Coral Cafe; they have a large selection and great prices. As always staff was kind and helpful. I ordered the Breakfast Combo Supreme that comes with 3 Eggs, 2 Links, 2 Strips of Bacon & Half slice of Ham. Served with Hash Browns, Toast & 2 Pancakes for only $18.95. I substituted the half slice ham for avocado and made myself avocado toast haha Very satisfying as I had the best of both worlds, something savory and something sweet. read more

Coral Cafe is a Burbank Institution. It has been there since 1957, and anyone who lives in Burbank has eaten there at some point. They have American food,everything from burgers to daily specials and sides. Just classic food you can't go wrong with. They are well-known for their breakfast though, so I decided to give that a try. You can't mess up a simple breakfast, right? I selected the western omelette: ham and bell pepper, topped with cheddar cheese. I got my food and right away I noticed the cheese. It was literally a Kraft (maybe not even that expensive) single slice on top of the omelette . I did a double take, and yes, I saw the four corners of the cheese unmelted. Look, I understand that times are tough due to Covid-19. It's bad enough that I paid $13 for the meal and didn't get cheddar cheese. That is not a deal-breaker for me, but I need the cheese, whatever kind it is, to be melted properly. Go ahead and take the extra five seconds to nuke it in the microwave or whatever you need to do. If I can't have cheddar at least give me a better presentation. I'll never understand how this is considered the best breakfast spot in Burbank. You really can get a much better breakfast at a lower price. I'll continue to support Coral because it's a local business and the service is good, but I will try something else like a sandwich and fries. I won't rush back. There are too many other options out there that put a little bit more care into the whole experience. read more

Went to have dinner tonight spent $90 server messed up my to go order for mom had to drive back to get the correct order they were trying to charge me extra ended up getting a refund instead after explaining it was not my fault and I waisted gas driving back and forth no accommodation or apology just a waist of time and a hungry mom! Breakfast In Burbank. So this cafe stood out as we were looking for outside seating. It was charming and lively. Once they sat us it took about 20 minutes before we were acknowledged. I know most places are dealing with short staff and so on but at least say I'll be right with you. We were close to leaving. Eventually we got served. The food came out pretty fast. Everything was tasty and well presented. Good portions too. I for one recommend their turkey breakfast plate. Very delicious and healthy. The coffee was great too. My child really loved their strawberry shake. Two thumbs up for sure. Also sampled their breakfast sandwich which was good. I'm not sure I'll return but the food is good. read more

Remember those restaurants that were a family restaurant sort of a diner experience. In my opinion, this place goes a little above that. Coral Café has just about anything and everything you would want on the menu. On the weekdays it's not very loud and usually you can find locals Enjoying breakfast and just chatting away. On the weekends, I have to admit it does get quite loud they do have indoor and outdoor seating. And the food to me is top-notch. I especially love their breakfast. Their Denver omelette is one of the best Denver omelettes I have ever had. I get cheese on mine. I love their French toast, their corn, beef, hash, their country fried steak. Their pancakes. I haven't had anything that I haven't liked and I've been coming to this restaurant since around 1998. I can't recommend this place enough. The service is outstanding. And the waiters are so friendly. They try to get to know their customers. And Whether prices might seem a little expensive, you get what you pay for and you get plenty of food. One of their dinner selections which I happen to love. Is there chili spaghetti. Yes chili spaghetti. It's their homemade chili and it's tossed with spaghetti. You would think that's a weird combination, but I tell you it works and you get plenty of it almost enough for two people. My advice is you need to try this restaurant. Although I don't live in the area anymore anytime I can come back and go here I will. I live over 20 miles away, but that doesn't stop me from going back to my favorite restaurant. read more

If you don't mind waiting over 45 minutes for your food after placing your order and if you don't mind getting some cold food, then you won't mind ordering "Take-out" here. We were told your order would be ready within 15 minutes, but that was a significant misrepresentation. After 30 minutes of waiting I asked multiple times why the food was taking so long, but I didn't get an answer and got my food 45+ minutes later. I have dined in about 4 times in the past and would give 3 Stars overall for those experiences; the food did take about 25-30 minutes to be served on those occasions, but at least it was not cold. read more
