Good morning. I've used Corner Bakery for years and have never been disappointed. This was the first time ordering from West LA & I have to say I was not happy. I requested a delivery between 2:30-2:45. I got to my clients office early, about 1:30 and the delivery had just been made. It would not have been that bad except I was serving hot drinks and the meeting was not until 3:00. Second, the Take a Break basket looked like things were thrown in. The cake was sliced in big hunks that fell apart. Some of the cookies were broken and the brownie bites were wet from the strawberries. For some reason a few slices of what looked like baguette were in the bottom, wet and a corner of the box was filled with pita(?) these baskets used to be so nice. Filled with different brownies, mini cakes, cookies & fruit. If this is what's being served now, I'd rather spend my $80 elsewhere. Panera serves a much nicer presentation so watch out Corner Bakery. Before my recent visit to Corner Bakery it had been 7+ years since eating at a Corner Bakery. My coworker happen to have a coupon for Corner Bakery and the deal was so good so we went for lunch. The one thing I want to compliment this location on is the service is GREAT! Every employee I interacted with was really sweet and had a smile on their face. One employee really stood out to me his name was Enrique (I think) or something close that started with an "E" Food came out quickly and was a good portion for the price. The food is not gourmet by any means, but a quick, simple meal for a good price on the Westside ... 2 thumbs up! I ordered a cake in the morning for my husbands 55th birthday and paid for it. When I went in to pick it up at 5:30 they said I did not pay for it. When I showed them the receipt, they said they (Mia) needed to call their manager to confirm I paid for it. I said, the receipt I'm holding says I paid for it. Pros: good place to meet, lots of seating Cons: overpriced, mediocre food, no outlets I had a panini when I came and it was incredibly average. I'm pretty sure I could easily buy a panini press and make a better one. It's a typical chain where you can get normal breakfast and lunch food. Although the food isn't great, it has plenty of seats which makes it a good place to chat over lunch or meet with small groups. The food here is great. I nearly always get the Anaheim panini with a serving of fruit and drink. The customer service here is just as stellar. The servers there always come by and check up on you and at one time, I was concerned that they might kick me out as I was studying there for a while after my meal but the manager came by to see if I needed anything. read more

Really a 3.5 for food, but rounded down to 3 because it is a little pricey for a chain cafe spot I think.... The name of this place is just so cute though (even though this location is not on a corner!!! I think this company should only buy space on corners to go with its name!! it only makes sense!) The inside is nicely decorated and cute too, just like its name! Lots of booths and tables, definitely a good place to bring a group of people. In fact there were some workers here having after work dinner meetings, because the space is so big and the tables are spread out enough that you won't be forced to hear other people's conversations which is great!! Now, price wise this place is a little pricier than your average cafe with a sandwich and chips being $10 or a little more, BUT that being said, my BLT panini was tasty! It came out warm and the cheese oozing out, and on a cold day this sandwich I ate on my way to the airport definitely hit the spot. Their house baked chips however, were just so so. I might pay yet a little more next time to get a different side option.... I hear their cookies are good here too, but that will have to be on another trip.....although I will probably just want a panini again! And one question, how can a cafe like this not have french onion soup??? That is actually what i went in here for in the first place but settled for a panini instead! I always tend to overlook Corner Bakery when it's lunch time. For some reason I usually just think it's nothing all that great but yesterday I discovered that all of the menu items have their respective caloric information posted RIGHT THERE next to the item on the menu board that you order from at the counter. This is so helpful! It even breaks it down by cafe versus entrée size and tells you how many extra calories that piece of bread on the side will cost you. Choosing the entrée size Asian Wonton Salad with chicken (including dressing) put me at 490 calories for lunch. The salad was actually so big I could have stopped halfway through but since I knew I'd be working out hard later I needed the extra calories from the second half. It was so tasty and full of goodies (edamame! and halved cherry tomatoes among the veggie medley) and the chicken so tender and moist (gross word) that I didn't even need the dressing either. Had a really awkward encounter with the guy who brought out my to-go order though. As he handed me the plastic bag I was texting on my iPhone in the same hand, paused to accept the bag while keeping the phone in the same hand (I'm dexterous like that) and dude just yanked my phone! Wth? I looked at him and was like "hey, that's mine!" with a WTF expression and he looked back at me like he was going to crap himself. Apparently he thought he was being funny by taking my phone? Corner Bakery, hmmm....what to say.... In a nutshell: It is not wonderful enough to praise and not horrible enough to complain about. Their chicken Pomodori sandwich is decent, the salads and soups are decent but nothing makes your taste buds sing! Desserts: The lemon bar and maple pecan bar are both OK but check for freshness before buying! I have also tried their cinnamon coffee cake and chocolate bundt cake, once again make sure they are fresh! Overall: I do not go out of my way to visit Corner Bakery, if I happen to walk infront of it, I sometimes go but I do not leave saying "wow, that was good or wow, that hit the spot!" This place isn't located on the corner, nor does the baked goods entice me, BUT they do serve up an amazing breakfast. Luckily this location offers pancakes as a breakfast item, a treat not yet available at all Corner Bakery locations. And boy oh boy are they tasty! I LOVE getting the pancake breakfast with scrambled eggs and chicken apple sausage. The pancakes- CB really gives you the dream pancake. Not too fluffy (where its more dough than flavor) yet they aren't too thin. It soaks up the syrup at just the right level that you won't even think twice about the small container in which the syrup is served. Also at 5 cakes a stack you are guaranteed to feel full after this hearty meal. Please add butter at your own risk, which adds another level of delectableness that you may not be able to resist. The Chicken Apple Sausage- This bad boy will raise your meal but .30cent but will bring you so much joy that it's worth the splurge. I've tasted quite a few chicken sausages in my life but this one takes the cake. CB captures both the savory-ness of the chicken with the sweetness of in apple in this yummy patty a feat far less accomplished. The eggs- Are just eggs... scrambled... fluffy and could be excluded if you are looking to save a buck. Overall tasty breakfast! Can't really go wrong at lunch either. Service here is always fantastic as well. Orders are taken with precision and everyone is always friendly. read more

This was the 4th time I've gone to Corner Bakery. In the past, I had gone to the Pasadena location and since I was nearby for project meeting, I thought I'd swing by and pickup lunch. I ordered the lunch sandwich and soup/salad special. Normally I don't every spend more than $6 on lunch, but this felt right. I ordered a club panini and a cup of chili. Something simple, not to heavy but not too light. As I took a bite of my sandwich and had a sip of my soup, this meal definitely made my day. It was so blissful. It was a $9 lunch, much more than a normal student would offer to pay for lunch, but it was worth it. I'm soooo a fan! read more

Sandwiches seem to very popular nowadays, and Corner Bakery has some of my favorites. I have eaten at this Corner Bakery many times and I have enjoyed it each time. My favorite sandwiches (or paninis) to get are the Chicken Pesto, the Corned Beef Reuben, and the Chicken Pomodori. I typically get the as part of the 'Corner Combo', which includes half a sandwich (or panini), a soup or salad, chips, and a pickle. I always get the soup, and rotate between the Chicken Tortilla and the Baked Potato depending on what they have that day. The chips are regular kettle chips, and complement the meal well. The pickle, is a pickle. I do have a few issues with Corner Bakery. The first being that they give you hardly any meat on their sandwiches. The sandwiches taste really good, but to be considered great they need to add some more meat! The second thing is that they charge you $1.99 for a regular fountain drink. That is rather expensive for a drink, and between this and the lack of meat on their sandwiches, some of my friends do not like to go here. Their desserts are also really expensive for what you get. I would rather just go down to Diddy Riese and get a Cookie Sandwich for half the price. Anyway, this is just me being nit picky, and has never stopped me from wanting to eat here. This particular Corner Bakery is the most crowded that I have ever been to, and it can be hard finding a seat during lunch. I wouldn't even bother coming here with a group of more than 4 during the lunch rush because I have had trouble even finding a table for two. However, if it wasn't good than it wouldn't be so crowded is how I look at it. Overall, Corner Bakery offers a really quality 'fast food' dining experience, but could definitely use some improvement. The sandwiches lack meat (yet are big on flavor), the drinks and desserts are expensive for what you get, and it always seems to be hard to get a seat here. Even with these things, this is one of my favorite spots in Westwood to eat. It is not a preferred spot for some of my friends, but I still drag them here. You come here because you are at or near UCLA, you need to find something within walking distance that isn't too expensive, and its really your second choice because Olive Garden has a waiting list! The food an ambiance are decidely Westwood deli-ish. Its really for students who don't care about good food as much as convenience. The food is passable and better than dorm food, with the trendy attempts at italian or fresh California cuisine in sandwiches and salads and other casual food. This is a CPK for Bruin Co-eds, but a step down or two. The price/performance ratio is about the same, though. Don't come here for a business lunch, it will be a noisy mess! I don't know why I keep going here. It's okay. That's the one major thing you can say about Corner Bakery, IT IS OKAY. I have never had any sort of meal here that made me say, "WOW!" I have had one obscenely overdressed salad, a lackluster tuna salad sandwich, one pretty damn decent breakfast scramble, and a series of "Chicken Pomodori" paninis that have always done the trick. The bread is decent. Soups look good. Lettuce is limp as an eighty year old sans Viagra. Out of the pastry items, the mini bundts are adorable and good. The brownies are outstanding.
