I go to UCLA so I'm always in the Westwood Village. This is one if the only places you can find breakfast. My first time here and they got my order wrong. If it was not that salty I would really like it but it was super salty. Even the soup at Ralphs taste a lot better. The salad is what I normally get which is good. When my bip was called my order size was wrong. I complained and they said that they were out of the entree size. A not so nice lady said thar actually. So I said: but you guys charged me for it. Even though this is a chain, this was my first time trying Corner Bakery. At first I was a little put off that you have to order at the counter and then sit at your seat and wait for your food to come out, but the food made up for that. I was in the mood for savory, so I went with a panini combo consisting of half a Chicken pomodori panini and half a caesar salad. When it came out, I wasn't expecting it to taste as good as it did, maybe because I was also slightly hungry. The dressing for the caesar salad was well made without being too creamy or sour, and a good amount of croutons. But what did it for me was the panini. Although I wish the panini was served a little warmer rather than just room temperature, the taste had me wanting to take another bite. I could taste the oven-roastedness of the tomatoes that gave it a nice sweetness mixed with the melted yumminess of the provolone cheese mixed with the pesto mayo. Each ingredient stood out, but came together very nicely. The sourdough bread was grilled perfectly and easy to eat and bite into, even with braces. The worst Corner Bakery I've ever been to. First they had only one cashier when there was a line of 5+ people. When I finally got the chance to order, I waited for my food for 15-20min. I saw other people who ordered after me get their food first. Besides the two people I noticed that left while waiting in line to order food, there was even one person who decided to leave without getting their food in frustration on how long it took. After waiting for a long time, we decided to go and ask what's taking so long for our food. They only gave us the two pancakes and two bacons which were cold and overcooked. They also gave us the bacon avocado egg bowl, we ordered without the avocado. The two yogurt parfaits we also ordered was not ready and they said that they needed to cut more fruits and will be ready in 5 min. After another 15 min of not receiving the two yogurt parfaits we asked why is it taking so long which they said it will soon come out. 5 min later they gave us the parfaits. In total we waiting over 35 min to get out complete order which we believe was an order with limited cooking. I'm very disappointed with this establishment specially since I'm a frequent customer of Corner Bakery at other locations. Never returning to the Westwood location. PS: forgot to mentioned that before we entered through the front door, it smelled of urine and beer at the doorway. Should have used that as an indicator not to eat there. Lesson learned read more

It all gives it a very home-y, cafe vibe. 2) Delicious Paninis and Mac&Cheese! I always get the Chicken Panini and Mac&Cheese Combo. The Soup combo is good too. I've come here a few times since I started at UCLA and overall it's a really cozy study space or meeting spot with an expansive menu. My most recent visit was during breakfast on a rainy Sunday morning. The place was busy, but luckily not as packed as it sometimes gets, so I made it to the register fairly quickly. One nice thing about Corner Bakery is a lot of add-on/menu tweaking options. For example, there are often ways to ask for no cheese or sub an ingredient in a certain item. I ordered the avocado and spinach breakfast flat, substituted with egg whites and with a side of their oven-roasted breakfast potatoes. For a drink, I ordered a caramel latte, also being given many options for the milk they used (whole, skim, half-and-half, etc). It was exactly what I was craving so I was super happy. I loved all the spinach that added freshness to the flat. Avocado was a fairly okay amount, but not super impressive. I was really happy with the price but it wasn't huge portion-wise; I've noticed the prices are often super fair but some portions are small to go along with that, so be warned! Either way, for a healthy breakfast type meal, it was a perfect size and price. I splurged my calories on my half-and-half latte which was expectedly suuuuuper creamy and rich, and had a nice sweetness too. I admit I don't drink hot beverages well, but I horribly burnt my tongue taking a sip too early on so I'll say it was served nice and hot. It was delicious once my taste buds recovered. I would say a weakness besides portion sizing/price ratio is that with the expansive menu, some items stand out more than others. The menu can range from pretty basic to more tasty selections. I just sat somewhere while I waited for my food. Rosario came over with my meal (which was delicious btw) and I asked if there were any spots with outlets. She went to go look for me and told me that they were all taken at the moment. Later she comes to me and says that a spot opened up and she left her tray there to save it for me. We decided to have breakfast with some friends in the area. Since one of them goes to UCLA, she suggested we all go to the Corner Bakery. From what I can tell, there is only street parking. Luckily I was able to find one right in front and for $1/hr (not sure if the amount changes depending on the demand). I like to get the coffee cake and the brownies if I am craving a treat, and when I want a meal I get the Chicken Carbonara Pasta or the Chicken Pesto Sandwich and Caesar salad.
