He understands how dresses and jumpers are made and is able to present different solutions for addressing the same problems, so I can make an informed decision as to how I want the clothing adjusted. He is a best-in-class tailor to the point that I sometimes buy expensive ($400-$500) dresses and jumpers that I know will need tailoring to fit me perfectly, but I don't even hesitate because I know Ali can literally tailor anything! He never tries to up sell either; he just genuinely wants you to be happy with the outcome. His wife, Daulat, is also the sweetest! I brought 2 difficult pieces here to be tailored and Ali did a great job. One was a dress that a different seamstress had done a crap job fixing, and he took apart her work and re-did the job so it was perfect. I had a few dresses with broken zippers and turned to Yelp to find a place to get them fixed. Corner Cleaners is in my neighborhood so I decided to give them a try. I stopped in the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend. The owner took a look and was able to fix one zipper on the spot (nice!). He said he could have the other two ready by Tuesday, due to the holiday and because he had to pick up the right colored zippers. I said I was going out of town Saturday and asked if it was at all possible to have them ready before my trip. He did not promise anything but said he would try. To my delight, he had both dresses ready before closing the next day! Both dresses have hidden zippers and he sewed them in perfectly. He even left a little extra room on one of the dresses, because the zipper was catching on the fabric before. He went above and beyond my expectations and I'm super happy with the result. I wouldn't say this is the most inexpensive place, but the owner cares about his customers and does high quality work. He is also super nice and has a great sense of humor. To me, that's worth a few extra dollars. I'll be checking them out for dry cleaning in the future as well. Definitely recommend! read more

I've been coming here for years and they are the best! We have dry cleaning services in our apartment building and I still drive 20 minutes to come here because I only trust Ali with my husbands suit pants. He has added length to them, widened them when they got too small, replaced the pockets - there is nothing he can't fix. Always does very clean work. Regular dry cleaning services are great too. Corner Cleaners runs a standup business, super honest and knowledgeable. Case and point: I took a silk gown in for a cleaning after wearing it to a dinner for two hours. The week before, I'd had it cleaned by Corner Cleaners in preparation for the gala and returned to get a follow up cleaning. After discussing in detail the gown, the owner recommended we do not clean it, as to conserve the antique silk fabric. Imagine that, a guy who could accept my $$ but did not. I also took my grandmother's vintage gown there for feedback on tailoring, and Corner Cleaners suggestions were so easy and affordable. I've had cleaning and fine jacket tailoring here and I have had excellent results each time. --- If you have fine gowns, clothing, linens, etc. and need a solid cleaners/tailor, look no further. read more

They STOLE the buttons off my vintage coat, claiming they must've been missing already! Then proceeded to make me feel bad about it. The buttons were very special (opal) and I'm so sad. It looks like cutters were used to take the buttons because the metal backings were still attached to the intact thread. If the buttons had fallen off, the thread should have been broken, but it wasn't :( This place left a very bad taste in my mouth. Owners were arrogant *sigh* :( read more

Not impressed. While the dry cleaning service was fine, the repairs to a treasured Gucci robe were awful - it looked patched. The owner also missed a second area that needed repair and charged me extra to fix it when I caught it upon pick-up. He also quoted two different prices for identical items brought in on different days. When I mentioned this he sniped that I should appreciate good service. Good service would have been catching the additional area to be tailored on the robe and phoning me when he was working on it if there was an additional cost, or repair it gratis. Good service would be not quoting a silk bathrobe cleaning the same as a dress on my first visit and a full, outdoor coat the second. Give me a break. read more

Just to update. I have had great service here now for a couple of years. I still continue to get great cleaning and suit work at still very reasonable prices. Recently, I had a non-suit related problem. I own a Jeep Wrangler, and the zipper on the soft top stopped working. I was looking at having to buy a new top (this one is in otherwise great condition, btw), to the tune of $900-$1800, or suffer freezing through the winter, because I couldn't close the back window at all. On a lark I brought it in, and I kid you not, Ali took up the challenge. Fixed my Jeep top for $100. Because he could. This guy can repair anything. King of cloth. Czar of zippers. Apart from the dry cleaning (which honestly, I wouldn't really know the difference from one place to the next...my clothes come back clean and hung, and I'm happy), but Ali is a great tailor. What can I say...Ali is the man!! I brought 5 prs of pants for him to hem. I was expecting them to be done in a week but they were done the next day. The hems were all perfectly straight and on two of the pants he put the original hem back on the pants and didn't even charge me extra.
