Amazing tailor! I brought a maxi dress here that needed to be shortened in both the hem and the bust and they did a fantastic job! The dress had a super cute trim on the bottom, and the tailor was able to shorten the hem and reattach the trim so I wouldn't loose that detail :) He also shortened the bust by 3 inches and stitched it together a bit in the front (so I wouldn't be falling out ). The dress fits perfectly now, and it was only $50! I brought it in on a Saturday and he had it ready by Tuesday morning. Great tailor, quick service, and very reasonably priced. Maybe a good cleaner, BUT not good at simple alterations. The owner was full on fighting with me saying he did his job, but the seams for both my dresses were completely skew. He said it's because he measured from the bottom up and they were skew to begin with. Omg, there's an inch difference in the seam of one of the dresses and unfortunately now an inch too short :( VERY UPSETTING and he did not offer to fix his mistake. Fought with me saying I was wrong. Go somewhere else for alterations, he wasn't even cheap!!!! read more

I have brought him a multitude of my tailoring projects. i.e, taking in large blazers, extending sleeve lengths and tailoring a very sentimental jacket that once was my mothers. To me, most dry cleaners are pretty much the same. They clean your cloths within a specified amount of time for a similar cost. What separates Corner Cleaners from the rest is how great they are at doing alterations. In my experience, the tailor is the best I have ever encountered. I grew up in the area and used to take all of my dry cleaning and alterations here. He always did a great job, and that has not changed. I brought in a reversible jacket yesterday for alterations that is perforated leather on one side and velor on the other. The sleeves were a bit too long, and I wanted to see if they could be shortened. It was a unique challenge that I'm sure that they don't see often, but I knew if it was possible that the tailor at Corner Cleaners would be able to do it. He took a look at the jacket, measured me, and then told me I could come back the next day. When I returned to pick up my jacket, it was perfect! I would even say that the seams looked cleaner than before I brought it in. Corner Cleaners did another great job for me, and that is why they are my go to spot for alterations. read more

I had a 2 patches on to my gi (sort of like a robe) stitched by this company. I was quoted $15 dollars to stitch the patch on. I thought that was steep and asked if a much smaller patch could be tacked on with the $15 charge, at which point the owner made no remark and asked for the smaller patch to place on the gi as well. He made an extra effort to show me where I can place the smaller patch. Then when I go back to pick it up - I am charged $20 total. Customer Service: I refuted the price as he told me it was $15. He returned with "nothing is for free, okay?" in a very demeaning tone - among a bunch of other things as he talked over me while I tried to explain to him how I perceived the conversation. I now see where people write that he is both brash and rude. He was brash when I went in at first, and then rude when I returned for pick up. He has surely lost my business as that was my first and last time at Corner Cleaner. Stitching: The stiching on the patch was not anything to write home about - they did not follow my "fold the seams in" request. Overall, worst cleaner experience I have had - and worst customer service I have ever had. read more

I have big hips and I cannot lie You guys can't deny That when I walks in with an itty bitty waist (yeah right?!?) And a round thing in your face You get sprung (ha!!).... So Fellas (yeah) Fellas(yeah) Has your girlfriend got the butt (hell yeah) Well shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake that healthy butt Baby got back.....and hips..... So, uhmmm, yeah my hips don't lie and neither do my clothes. Yelp has been good to me, very good to me. I might have gained a pound or two...ok maybe three. I've accepted my curves for the time being. I've also accepted that I cannot and will not wear heels 5 days a week. My cute and colorful heels will be reserved for late-night bar hopping, dancing, drinking, laughing, and all the other shenanigans I plan to get into. Flats have become the current staple in my wardrobe. Unfortunately most of my work attire that I just purchased requires heels. Without researching on yelp first (I know, I know, I should know better) I went on my lunch hour to Corner Cleaners to get some pants tailored. As I was explaining to the guy what I needed he glances down at the pants I brought in and with a smirk asks how many dogs I have. I couldn't help but get a little defensive. Yes I have two dogs and they shed ALL of the time but I love them even though they leave hair ALL over my clothes especially on my black pants. I was just there to fix some pants not to be critiqued. Two days later I pick up my pants, pay the $11 per pair ($18 for the pair that needed more work). I gave them one more star because they did press and get rid of all the hair, plus they fit over every curve and they don't drag on the floor anymore. Yay! read more

My clothes came out very clean but two gorgeous, expensive vintage buttons are mysteriously missing from one of my jackets. The guy owner spent a lot of time praising these buttons when I first brought the jacket in, and also when I picked up my clothes. Then I get home and carefully inspect all of my items, and two of those buttons he was in awe of are gone. I got a shady and uncomfortable feeling from the guy at this place. I travel a lot and am usually in a time crunch to drop off clothes and get them returned. I NEVER have to stress about my dry cleaning being done in time. Came here to get some pants hemmed. Guy didn't seem too friendly as he seemed angry when I had not understood where he wanted me to leave my shorts and shoes when putting on the pants for fitting. Was asked when I would need the pants and said I was in no hurry and was told they would be ready next day. When I showed up to pick the pants up a few days later, the guy was more friendlier. I was charged $20 and when I asked for the receipt back he happily said no problem, wrote PAID on it & handed it back. Parking can be difficult. I have been coming here for years (literally 7) and have never had a problem. Actually, they are the best dry cleaners I have found in LA (and I grew up here) after deciding Sterling cleaners was just too far to drive and too much to pay! My friends, family and colleagues have all started to come here and they swear by Corner Cleaners as well! It's a small family run shop and they could seriously not be nicer. I have had dresses, pants and coats tailored here, only to find everything fits like a glove! (Until of course I gain weight and have to let a few things sit in the closet until I shed the lbs!) Husband loves the tailoring on the pants- it's super easy... and they do great work! They're fast, super friendly, and as I said before, I have NEVER had a problem in my 7 years of coming here. Not one. Great prices, great mom-and-pop type shop and expert tailoring. I'm wondering if they'll custom make me some clothes if I buy the fabric and pick out the patterns??? Hmm... food for thought!!! I am the type of yelper who only writes if a place is REALLY great or REALLY bad... this is one of the greatest dry cleaners I know.
