Solid spot in Burbank for a breakfast burrito -- one of my go-to's when I get the craving. No frills and cash only. Parking can be tough, especially on weekends when it gets really busy. The guys behind the counter are pretty friendly and run pretty efficiently. Pretty good value, but lacking salsa options; if you do like spicy, I recommend getting their (chunky) house salsa inside your burrito instead of on the side... but I also recommend taking the burrito home and supplying your own sauce to put on between bites. Like most options in LA, the tortilla is mediocre and un-grilled. Location / Literally at the corner of the street lol and it's a really small place! It does have a parking lot but because it's so busy it's sometimes a challenge. Corner Cottage is a classic! It's not so much a cottage but it is a small place on the corner, and their breakfast burritos here are kinda famous. Are they worth all the hype? Well.. yes! I would say this is the best breakfast burrito I've had in LA! This burrito has the perfect ratio of potato, egg, cheese and meat. Every bite you get a little bit of it all. I got sausage and bacon in mine but they also have ham and steak options as well. And what I love about these burritos is the potatoes are kinda crispy, gives a nice texture to it. And ask them for extra salsa because it's wonderful, spicy and adds great flavor to your bites. More than 1 meat is an extra charge, total for the burrito was $9.75. CASH ONLY! Funny enough, the first time I came here I didn't know it was cash only and all I had was $10. I was trying to add it up in my head and looking at the guy in front of me's order to see if I had enough for extra meat or not LOL. He ordered exactly what I was getting and it was under $10 so I didn't have to stress it anymore haha It does get busy but the line moves so quick so you won't be there more than 5 minutes. Unfortunately I have to write this review. I've been going to the corner cottage for 8 years and our family love their breakfast burritos. They recently got new owners and have been doing wonderful job upgrading the place and making it look so nice. The unfortunate part is the lack of customer service that they give if a burrito is made wrong. They have spicy salsa that I order on the side but unfortunately for two times now I've gotten to work and bitten into my burrito and to my surprise my mouth is on fire because the salsa is on the inside. When I called the first time the man wasn't willing to help fix the problem. Today I ordered, drove to work split the burrito open and it had salsa in it. I called back to try and get the situation fix and was told they'd review the camera and check. My manager gave me the ok to drive back so I did. When I got there I explained that I had my burrito made wrong and was told it's a "he said she said situation" and if I took my refund I'd be asked not to come back! This truly broke my heart as I love their burritos and I was just trying to make my food edible for me and considering the price went up with the new ownership. I decided to get my refund and respect them when asking me not to go back but it bothers me how calmly he just asked customers not to come back if they're wrong. read more

I have to admit, this place lived up to the hype. As soon as you walk in you can tell this place is legit. They even have one employee who is solely responsible for putting the salsa inside little individual containers for each order once your food is ready. Idk if that made any sense, but once you see it you'll get the jist. It's almost like the salsa is a delicacy...and it should be because it's damn good. While visiting Martino's Bakery, we decided to stop by this place in search of the elusive awesome teriyaki bowl. The place is small with a few indoor tables and although aged, was clean. I ordered the beef bowl and my grandson ordered the chicken burrito. He said the burrito was so so good, which says alot since he is 8. Note to reader, he got everything except the chili in his burrito. My beef bowl- I wasn't sure if the meat was ground beef or crumbled steak and that was disappointing because I really wanted that sliced steak experience. I put my disappointment aside and tried it. Oddly enough I think it wasn't to bad. Lol I say think, because I didn't care for the texture, but couldn't stop eating it. I recently visited corner cottage, hoping to enjoy a simple breakfast burrito, but unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. Despite arriving in person to place my order I found myself waiting 30 minutes for a basic breakfast burrito - far too long for something that should be quick and simple. What made the wait even more frustrating was how the orders were prioritized. it became obvious that online orders were given priority. While the restaurant is cash only, they would immediately notify the cooks when the online order customer arrived and their food came out right away leaving those of us who ordered on site to wait. There was no attempt at even distribution between walk-ins and online orders, which is not only unfair but very annoying. To make matters worse when I finally sat down to eat my burrito it was a total disappointment. The potatoes were burnt. The bacon was also burnt, and there were very few eggs in the mix to top it off. I couldn't even see or taste any cheese. Considering the full parking lot, I had higher expectations, but it seems corner cottage is no longer a reliable spot for breakfast burritos. There is not much to be said about this place. I get into the same debate with many people, and my answer will never changed. My favorite breakfast burrito of all time. Something about the potatoes and the tortilla they use, and their homemade salsa, no where has reached that level for me. Many have reached close and tied, but none to beat it. I always get extra cheese and extra bacon on my burrito, and getting the sale on the inside is a must. (But be careful, their salsa is super spicy; so if sensitive to heat, get it on the side). The team working there is great, but the one thing that sucks, its ALWAYS a long line of people, and because they are so busy in the store, its very hard to reach them over the phone to preorder. My initial thoughts about Corner Cottage was it is located close to Griffith Park and the only time I would be in the area is after hiking and there is no way I would want to grab a fat burrito after hiking. Parking was a bit hectic and ordering one burrito was going to take a 25min wait. Was lucky enough to find parking instantly and ordering wasn't a problem. But what he did do was change everything that didn't make sense like serving the burritos ALL DAY instead of having a cut off time. And selling the salsa by the cup. Among other things. After learning they were under new ownership, I got nervous because that's been a problem with different restaurants in the past. With that being said, that is not the case here. They have respected the original recipe, ambiance, and quality.
