I wish I could give this place 5 stars as the staff was friendly and the food was good. We didn't realize this is only the second night open or else we would have waited for the lines to die down... We waited 30 mins in the drive thru only to have our order wrong... Our receipt shows we ordered 3 beef roll tacos but instead we were given 2 beef soft tacos. That's not only the wrong kind of taco, but I also got one less than I paid for. I could also tell they were trying to get the hang of the drive thru as the girl who was taking orders on the speaker would accidentally jump on the wrong speaker when she would come back. At one point she asked the driver if she had already taken their order and she hadn't, they had just pulled up. They need cameras so they can see who they are talking to. The first time I came, the owner was super nice (boarder line flirting) and service was very fast. The second time I came I the owner greeted me with excitement "hey, I remember you!" I was on the phone with my boyfriend and said "hang on baby" so I could greet the owner and the owner immediately changed his tune and treated me like a number. Today, I brought my boyfriend with me and was not greeted at all, it took 45 minutes to get 3 tacos and a large drink. When I went to check on my order they were all snickering and looking at us. Next I got the Seafood Cali Burrito the only difference is the Seafood Cali Burrito has Shrimp and it was good also !! Last I always get the Roll Tacos and here it was Krispy and loaded with Cheese and Lettuce on top !! Nice and Krispy plus Delicious !!! Don't even want to give 1 star!!!!! First time tacos were good. I had one beef and one chicken. Not really flavorful but drive thru worthy. Second time my chicken in my taco was completely burnt! Not edible. I took the meat out and ate just the shell with lettuce and cheese. My 3rd and LAST time I got a beef hard shell taco. The beef was burnt to no recognition. This time I had to go back and tell them. There were 5 workers and not one customer to be seen. The woman told me, "we fry the taco"! I was looking forward an authentic Mexican food drive thru. It is expensive. I order ONE crispy beef taco and it was awful. The shell was like rubber, it had been fried before and sitting out for hours, the meat was SMALL, no limes, no radish and a bean and cheese burrito. The cost was $13.00! so it was 6.50 each! The taco was worth $3.00 at the most and the bean and cheese burrito maybe 5.00. Service is SLOW because the girl at the window is chatting with other employees. ambiance is ok. It is a drive thru. My daughter and I went to Cotija's last week and the food and service were both amazing. We were in the drive-thru line and there was a police officer in front of us. When he was at the window picking up his order, I noticed that the gentleman working would not take his money. When it was our turn at the window, I told him that I noticed that and he said that he was one of the owners and that they make it a point to not charge police officers and border patrol agents. I thought that was a nice way to give back. For our food, we ordered a carne asada burrito and carne asada tacos. We loved both orders. We finally made our way to Cotijas last week and we have been back twice already. During our first trip we tried the burritos. They are huge and filled with so much meat. Very impressed. I ordered some food for my family and when I got home, my daughter was eating one of her chicken tacos when she bit down on a piece of broken plastic. When we finished eating, I went back with the piece of plastic and explained to one of the workers that my daughter could've swallowed it. He proceeded to show me all the plastic trays and anything else where the plastic could've come from but didn't find anything. So to make amends, he gave me a $50 credit purchase on my next visit. I wasn't even paying attention to the order total which is my bad- but I payed $54 for a queso birria taco and a pastor burrito with a 32oz Jamaica. But... Food was not good. It wasn't gross(except the powdery cheese), but it was bland and boring. Portions were small for how bland and boring it was. It reminds me of what Mexican food from the Midwest would taste like from a caucasian family. Like they just don't know how to do it authentically. The cheese was that super processed shredded cheese that has that powdery taste on it. The carne asada tastes just like flank steak with salt. The barely put any sour cream or guac on it. I was just very disappointed. The first time I went there I used the drive-thru. I ordered a cheese quesadilla, a tamal and rolled tacos. The tortilla on the quesadilla was burnt. You can smell the burn tortilla from the closed bag. The tamal was ok. The rolled tacos were good. The drive-thru is a huge mess. They have a double ordering menu but there is no organization. One car went out of turn after ordering which caused a delay for everyone else. The second time I called in an order just to pick it up. I ordered carne asada fries. Huge bummer.
